Good beer / Need more healthy food choices

By Rosalie B |

Went for dinner with My husband yesterday. We enjoyed our meal but unfortunately we felt like there wasn't a big enough choice of things in the menu. Too many fried choices not enough grilled choices. The Salmon we asked if they could not put too much of the blackening seasoning on it but they unfortunately preseason ALL of the Salmon pre dinner. That's kind of silly because not all customers like ALOT of that on there or want none! I just think they could get more customers enjoying their menu if they broadened their menu and make it a little healthier choices!

Great brewery!!!

By Aurelie M |

Took me few months to finally go there (I live 2mn away, shame on me). I went with friends first, then took my parents 3 or 4 times there when they were visiting. This place is great! Waiters are amazingly nice and efficient. The beers are super good (Philly pale ale, the lager is good too). The flights are pretty cool to try beer. The food is very good. Lots of space, canteen style. You can see the inside of the factory from the main room. I saw there is a pool table and other games last time, seems to be nice! It’s very noisy but part of the fun I guess! I just love this place. They also do tours of the brewery and have a shop section at the entrance too!

Food and a flight

By Christopher G |

I took my wife here for lunch on a Saturday. There is free parking behind about a half a block walk. We were ID carded when we entered and had our hand stamped. There is a gift shop to the left that sells various clothing items and beer to go. We asked for a table and were seated quickly. The waitress came right over, set us up and took our drink order. I got a flight of the summer ales. There were two other flight choices and tons of choices for a pint or 20 oz. My wife got the Cobb salad. It was super fresh and the colors were visually appealing. It tasted good too. I got a roast pork sandwich with fries for an extra $2. The post was good and the sesame seed roll had the right amount of crispness. The long hot pepper on the side was a nice touch. The place is open and bright with a nice size bar. There is also a game room with a pool table and shuffle bowl. It is a nice place with good food and service. I hope to get back here soon.

Yard Out!

By B4URentorBuy |

My colleague was dropping me off when I noticed this place on Delaware Ave. I told him I saw the business on television last night. He's a drinker, so he said let's check it out. When we walked thru the door, it was like "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner." Then one patron made an off color remark and walked out, as did other patrons. My colleague is a lively fellow and he comments, "There's the owner." The husky owner never acknowledged us. After 15 minutes we finished our drinks then left and I would not be surprised if they threw away the glasses that we drank out of. I would NOT recommend this place, considering the less than welcome reception we received. Yard's left a bad taste in my mouth. Another company added to my list that I will never patronize.

Last Call!

By Cakes77 |

I was very impressed in my first visit here. Outstanding location, just north of Penn’s Landing off Columbus Boulevard. We took Spring Garden from the Art Museum, which is a quick enough trip with a few red lights to factor in (no problem? Plenty of parking at Yards. Kinda quite over here, and you do not get that “claustrophobic effect” that you seem to get all over the city now- where it is seemingly impossible to find open parking on the street- even in run down neighborhoods next to open lots on a Sunday afternoon! The interior here is quite inviting and handsome- with a nice view of the brew house floor through large glass windows. We came here for dinner- but they really just have bar food, and it was last call-closing time! They were very polite and served us a beer (we have been waiting two years to get over here to visit the site) They play some nice tunes and they have lots of cool gear for sale at the brew house. A very nice lineup of their beers on tap- I was surprised at the variety. The employees here were the best thing- they are so genuinely nice and helpful. I would almost list Yards as a MUST stopover while you are in Philly- even if you are just here for the day, or just a few hours.

Good beer, not open long enough

By jclb517 |

I really liked th Love Stout beer. Unfortunately, we went on a Thursday night and they closed at 7. It was nice that they had a parking lot.

Great service and huge selection of beer.

By Karen M |

If you like Yard beer, this is the place for you. Our waitress Michaela was wonderful, very knowledgeable about the food and the beer and made for a very pleasant experience. Food was good but pretty much what you would expect for a brewery.

Very good beer and energetic tour guide

By njlees25 |

The highlight of this brewery was the tour guide. Hilarious and informative, one of the most entertaining brewery tours I have been on. The brewery itself needs a bigger tasting room and is the only problem I had with visiting this place on a busy Saturday afternoon. It was hard to find table space. Most of the beer was vey good, with lots of variety. Not a bad beer in the bunch and now my favorite brewery in philadelphia. Parking can be a chore much like finding a table so you may have to walk a bit. The food truck just outside was a nice touch with some interesting sandwiches. They do rotate every weekend, but hey it's the beer you come for anyway!

Hooray Beer!

By MailenaR |

We went to the free brewery tour while visiting Philadelphia for a few days, and took advantage of the free samples. I cant remember the guy who lead the tour (Mark? Mike? I really cant remember. Blame the beer). He was hilarious. Afterwards, we purchased a beer flight and played some pool. By the time we left, the place was packed. If you like beer, you shouldn't be disappointed.

Delicious

Great beer and a good feel. The tours are very interesting. Every weekend a different food truck is outside, always a good time

Good Beer, Good Location

By PhillyShaney |

I decided to make a trip to Yards Tasting Room and I enjoyed myself. I had a fellow lover of craft beers join me and the afternoon of tasting flights began. We started with the "Revolutionary Flight". Ahhh...The Tavern Porter, Tavern Ale, and the Porter were superb!! I am an IPA fan & tried the Eureka IPA and it was fantastic!! For the large space and volume of people, the service and turn around on orders was quick and the staff were attentive. I would suggest that if you want to have a nice afternoon/evening - make this your first stop before you hit the other place in the area. Be aware of nice days - there is a line to get in, but it is worth it!!

Great place to watch sports and sample their home made beer. We attended a brunch upstairs and the service was excellent. Good food and great selection of beer.

Best Brewery

By Marla592 |

What a pleasant experience especially enjoying a flight of beer that rocked ! Shane, our server, was extremely well versed on each beer selection/ flights as well as the menu items .(Rueben fritter were awesome) Choosing the Revolutionary Beer Flight was a great choice . Yards Brewery is a mandatory stop when visiting Philly! Just love the environment&energy! I am so thrilled my daughter moved to Philadelphia ! You are doing an excellent job making your customers feel welcome.

worth a visit

By cdab |

I love beer, so a chance to visit a brewery is not to be missed. Yards brewery is close to the city center and can be reached by the MFL blue line and a short 5 minute walk. I visited the tasting room which is a bar restaurant located at the brewery. The menu was pretty standard pub fare but of coursethe reason to visit was the beer which is pretty good. Spent an enjoyable few hours sampling the ware before heading back to my hotel. Well worth the effort of a visit

Love this place

By njsfinest3 |

Yards has some great beers on tap...we love coming here to put a few back and see where the night goes

Good drinks and food

By JDtravel4fun |

There is a good variety of beers to try at this brewery. Food was good also. Service was great by friendly staff.

This Brew/Pub has it all - great beer

By Brads P |

This place is so well planned out and has it all, whether you want to watch a game or play pool. The beer selection is excellent and they had about 10-12 beers on tap. You can get a tour or buy some swag, or even get take home beer. I like that they serve their beer in massive 20 ounce glasses. You can walk there from downtown. They have a large food selection and I tried the fish and chips which were outstanding.

Great place, highly recommend

By tundraboyec |

This was an awesome venue for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Great service and the beer is good. Good range and they're keen to tell you about if you want ti know. Accommodating with brewery tours and meals.

Nice Downtown Brewery!

By Kdawg282 |

Enjoyed our trip to Yards while visiting downtown Philly! The beer is good, just don't expect the best NEIPA you've ever had! I'm more of an IPA guy, but they have several beers that should accommodate most people. The beer is good, the atmosphere is awesome. Food is good as well. Worth a stop if downtown in Philly.

Very nice place

By Uranio Radioattivo |

Brewery and brewery. Very nice and welcoming place. The beer, produced by us, is good. The food was very good.

Beer , food , what else do you need?

By downward |

Walked up to here from the Holiday Inn during a torrential rain storm but it was worth it. Food and beer were top notch and the brewery is really efficient

You have to check it out!

By Bridget F |

Was in town to visit my brother and decided to check out a tour at Yards. From the Pittsburgh area and had some familarity with the beer - wow was I impressed!! First of all the tours free! Who would ever pass that up? Especially since we frequent brewery tours. Honestly have never been more entertained in my life. Our tour guide , Mike, was knowledgeable but also hilarious from the beginning! I dont know what they pay that guy but make it double! We didnt stop laughing the whole time. He truly made the day! We also enjoyed the beer tasting and the tasting room was very nicely done. If you are a craft beer lover - make sure you don't miss a stop at Yards. Theyve certainly gained a fan in me!

Good Beer

By Heidi M |

My husband has been here a couple of times because of his love of the beer. He also couldn't stop talking about the food. He however was there during a work week and was able to enjoy their cuisine. Since we were there on the weekend they only had an over priced food truck sitting out front. BIG Disappointment. We went there to have lunch, so we left with an empty stomach and drunk! Beer was good though!!

Relaxed, friendly, fun

By lnmoschella |

Spent an afternoon at Yards with sample beers and awesome nachos. Great spot for a solo traveler - easy to make friends or big enough to relax and people watch by yourself. The Revolutionary beer sample was fantastic, as was the barley wine. Great brewery gear as well. Definitely worth the visit

Fantastic service and food on a busy night

By William R |

We were at Yards last night for the Gotham FC /NWSL championship watch party and the staff did an incredible job on a night that would have been busy even without the influx of Gotham fans. The food was incredible - we had a perfectly cooked bacon smokehouse burger, nachos, and some fine Yards beers (E.S.Tea made with earl grey is incredible!). The server taking care of us was incredibly attentive - staying out of the way of the game yet always being present at just the right time. She made sure anyone who wanted to be settled up before the end of the game was settled up. The food came out quickly and was, as I said before, fantastic. We had a fun night and were very impressed by Yards overall - I will definitely plan another visit to Yards and would totally host an event there. And there's parking

Fine Atmosphere. Of Course It Was With Beer Flowing

By TommyBoy94 |

Something about good beer that raises the spirits, so to speak. We came here for a birthday bash for two dear friends and the congenial atmosphere, good looking room (Big picture window facing the giant brewing vats), inexpensive beers ($5 for a good draught) and food truck outside with tasty barbque all added to the experience. Pool tables and long table shuffle board game are fun, too. In the old days, drinking beer meant grabbing a Schlitz in a fun working class bar and maybe occasionally swanking it up with a Lowenbrau or Henikens. But now with the millennials and gen x types discovered taste for hand crafted beers, these brew pubs have exploded in popularity and the beer madness shows no signs of retreating. This place was mobbed on the weekend, but is more manageable during the week. I loved the beer with a touch of spruce and another called either "Ron's Surprise or Ron's Regret" or something like that (Not too clear because it kicked butt) but anyway was infused with hints of good whiskey. Of course, it's great to try flites where you can sample a good variety of the products. Free tours (fun) with free samples (even more fun) top it all off. I was with a crowd of friends, but that didn't stop our making new friends with people outside our crew...which often happens at a brew joint. Anyway, it reminded me a little of the Beer Halls in Heidelberg and Munich...minus the singing thank goodness.

Good beer!

By Amy R |

We tasted their brawler brew at a restaurant near home so decided to stop in and pick up some on our way to New Jersey. Bartender let us taste a bunch of varieties. Did not do brew your as we had kids with us. Great atmosphere. Not exactly a menu I'd do with kids.

Drinks and snacks

By nouglytourist |

Went to Yards for a few drinks, to snack a bit and chat. We tried the following beers: GW Porter, Love Stout and PR Spruce (16 ounces for $5.00) while munching on the chips and salsa ($3.00) The homemade root beer wasn't bad either ($2.00). Barman was forthcoming with beer recommendations. Bill with tax and tip came to $24.00.

Great lunch

By Joey M |

Back in Philly for a couple of weeks and thought I would bounce over to Yards for lunch. Vegan now so thought I would struggle finding something and while they have a limited menu I was able to get some humus and some black bean soup. Both were excellent. Beer and staff were excellent as always.

Surprisingly awesome

By Betsyk7888 |

We had great beer and great service, all for a reasonable price. I have had Yards before and didn't like it much but going to the brewery, trying all the beer, it was excellent!

Beers

By Mary B |

Went to Yards for a Fundraiser. Took a tour had a few beers. Parking was a royal pain but it's Philly. Enjoyed the visit!

Good beer and good eats

By traveledone |

I like Yards beer so the drinks are very appealing. They have a gift shop and you can take home 6 or twelve packs, something that is not available at every brewpub. The food is good too, although there seemed to be an awful lot of grease on the plate with my roast pork sandwich. Not a place for dieters, I suppose.

Great variety

By Frank I |

Yard's has a great variety of local beers to try and the ones I had were very drinkable. The flights offered let you try some of their more famous ones together. Next time I'd like to go there with some friends and a non-pregnant and stay a while longer.

Great Service!!!

By davyd83 |

First and foremost, the service was outstanding. The host Kiara, and the server Nick, both went the extra mile to help turn a tired, somewhat stressed and cranky traveler into a happy camper. The Loyal Lager was a treat. And the chili cheese fries were outstanding as well. Thanks for a great experience!

Fun Visit

By MrandMrsBookman |

It was a very nice visit here. They had a varied selection of beers varying in strength. We were a group of 5 and had at least 10 different beers. They were all so great! They also had wines and cocktails available. The food menu was limited but heck it’s a brewery. Definitely worth a visit.

Revolutionary Ales Flight

By StarkDiets |

I'm from out of town and wanted to try some local craft beer from Philly. Parking is crazy in this town, so I managed to find a place slightly out of downtown with <some> parking available on the side street. Parking is a quarter for 6 minutes, so I hope your date talks fast! Upon entering, there is a gift shop to the right with an 8-door fridge holding many varieties of their beer in 6 packs. Continue on to a large bar and many taps available, including a couple beers that supposedly were brewed back in Washington's time. Two different types of flights, whereas this one is a really good, UNIQUE, flight. Really liked the spruce ale, the porter was phenomenal, too. Nice job! $7/flight. Big, spacious place. Impressive brewery with a local craft selection.

Our favorite brewery tour yet!

By Vickie B |

What a great find! English-style brews (something for every taste in our group), fun tasting room, and free tour with tasting and the most engaging, informed, and dynamic tour guide we had ever experienced.

coming back

By MikeM22rugger |

I loved this place, the staff was amazing, the food was great, and the food was very good. There was an 1:30 time limit at tables, there were no custom flights, and no tours but, that being said I am so glad we stopped in and were able to eat and drink. defiantly worth the stopping by and I can't wait to stop b y for a tour.

Great Brews to Choose

By Daveflstc07 |

As a birthday present, my daughter took me to Yards to have a few local brews before going to another event. We started out with the flight of beer which was excellent. Nice progression of seasonal beers including a saison. I highly recommend the Tavern Ale which was very smooth, not too hoppy and quite high on the ABV scale. This is usually served in a smaller glass due to its high alcohol content. I finished the happy hour with the Brawler which was similar to Yuengling in flavor. Easy to down, somewhat carbonated, lower ABV, yet refreshing. We learned they'll fill up your growler even if it's not from Yards. Nice marketing. They also sell half kegs and sixtels. I'll be back for the sixtel of Tavern Ale once my current sixtel runs out.

Always a good stop

By dadsday0ff2 |

Nice people and great beer. Makes for a very nice afternoon. I highly recommend the tour. I have been here half dozen times, always fun. Shuffleboard, pool tables, beer tasting, it doesn't get any better for me. Always interesting beers on tap.

Took the tour

By DaayTrippers |

Spent about two hours sampling the beer and taking the tour. This brewery does not sell food but has food trucks outside the building with information available about which trucks come which days and you are able to bring food in.

Perfect example of the cities nickname-Brothery Love!

By Jody H |

Beer was great and the people were very friendly - both guests and staff! Cool place with lots of different beer to try. Cool shirts and hats to purchase. You must try the Love Stout!! You can even purchase several types of beer to bring home!

Friendly bartenders, relaxing environment

By Mike A |

Nice brewery, with a good beer selection. Relaxed atmosphere. Good for an end of the day beer. Got 2 flights to try the different beers, some very unique flavors here. I enjoyed the Saison the wife liked the Brawler.

Excellent experience, a true local brewery!

By James C |

Ron Johnson, a master of public relations, guided us around for a real hands on local tour of a successful but still down to earth brewery. Tom, the owner, Tim, Trevor, these guys get it...and the food is basic but delicious...highly recommend. Beers are truly hand crafted, not Macro brew.

Favorite Brewery Ever...

By Arick |

Came here with my wife, brother and his girlfriend. He had been here before and is kind of a beer expert lol...We walked inside and instantly notice that this place just had a really good feel to it along with awesome decor everywhere. A pool table and bocce ball table are there to keep you entertained if you aren't already there with friends. The beer menu is very extensive and packed with outstanding gems. One of my favorite parts about this brewery was the tee shirt collections on the wall. I ended up getting a couple different versions of the beer shirts. We probably spent about one hundred bucks altogether on beer and merchandise but it was well worth it. I can't wait to take another trip to Philly to come right back here...Also they ship beer all over the place and you can come in and buy your favorite beer in a twelve pack....CHECK IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

New year beers

Great beer. IPA is the best and great prices. Lots of fun, good music, cool shirts, gift items. Must visit!!!

Tour is a must!

By Adrian S |

One of the funniest tours I have been on! Plus the beer is great! Samples are worth the free tour! Local beers are the way to go!

Great food & beers

By mussarim |

Four of us stopped at Yards for dinner. One in the party had been there before. We were able to get a free parking space in the designated Yards spaces in the lot behind the Target, next to Yards. Entered, showed ID and got hands stamped. Noticed the small gift shop but didn't check it out closely. Saw tee shirts and growlers on display. The space is huge, with shared long tables, a bar and smaller tables along the side, which is what we chose. The hostess was very friendly and happy to answer questions we had. Our waitress was super efficient and kept checking to make sure we had all we needed. The menu is not huge, but our food was excellent. For starters, we ordered the special, fried green tomatoes as well as Dan Dan Broccoli. Both were delicious. Entrees ordered: Burger, chicken cheesesteak, salad and BBQ pork. Also wonderful. Beer selection was great. Only two red and two white wines available but one of us tried the chardonnay and it was good. The only negative in my opinion was the noise. Super loud space - high ceilings with all hard surfaces, nothing to absorb the noise.

Really good beer and better people!

By Krichnard |

They have great beers ( I mean A LOT of great beers) at a really nice price. The people there were nice and willing to help. Plus we tried their nachos and they were delicious! Very tasty.

LOVE LOVE this place

By Joey M |

You know how much I love this place! When I lived in Philly I went there so often they put my name on the back of a chair for my birthday. My wife and I were the first ones to have that done. I think now there are 5 chairs with names and on this visit I went back to make sure it was still there. I was in Philly for 9 days and I was there for at least one drink 6 of those 9 days. Typically before we went out for the night as they close early (7pm). Saturdays and Sundays are a mad house. Hundreds of people in here taking tours, eating from the food truck outside (kitchen can't keep up on weekends), chatting, listening to music and drinking some of the finest beer on the East Coast. Tom (owner) and his team have done a great job and Frank (tasting Room Manager) and his staff bust their hump to take care of everyone. During the week the food coming out of the kitchen is great and should be tried. The nachos are the best in Philly!

Diverse, High-Quality Beer Selection

By JC D |

I visited several breweries and taphouses during my recent stay, and Yards was head and shoulders above the rest. Their selection was excellent, including the unusual brews based upon recipes from the Founding Fathers. For Belgian enthusiasts, the Trubble was exceptional, as was the tripel. True hop-heads might find the IBUs a little restrained on their Philadelphia Pale Ale and their IPA, but a personally am happy to see the pendulum swinging back to center after chewing through so many 100-plus-IBU beers. I didn't try the food, but it looked good. A word of caution: the tasting room closes at 7 p.m., so you have to make it your first stop after work if it's a business trip. Fortunately, less than $10 from Center City by Lyft.

Fun stop!

By suenyyfan |

Stopped On a Saturday! The restaurant wasn't open but they have food truck outside. Great beer and tour. Couple different flights for all likings... Easy to find. They have great shirts you can buy as souvenirs.
