Great breakfast

By Philip K |

Day after Chicago Marathon and we could all eat a big breakfast. So Yolk it was for hash brown with poached eggs and pancakes. This was two meals for the price of one. Perfect. It took 20-30 minutes to get seated but it was certainly worth the wait.

Had a great lunch

By ClevelandTraveler216 |

Walked in there late around 2:15pm and Ordered their kale salad for a late lunch. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend.

Friendly service

By Nancy L |

Friendly service with big portions that come out really fast. Biscuits and gravy ok. Potatoes unremarkable. Farmhouse was huge portion of ok food delivered fast and friendly.

Always a solid breakfast

We know that when we are in Chicago Yolk will always provide a good breakfast. This location is close enough to the museum campus that we could easily walk and make the 9am tickets at the aquarium. I would certainly go back

Great Breakfast Experience @ Yolk (south loop)

By G5755UEstevenm |

We were recently in Chicago for the Rolling Stone concert (great show by the way) and spent the night at a hotel around the corner from Yolk. We ate breakfast there on a Monday morning and it was fantastic. The restaurant was very busy, but we were seated almost immediately and our waitress was soon at our table asking about drink orders. They had a wide range of coffee selections (we ordered a cappuccino and a latte) that tasted wonderful. Our breakfast entrees were quickly served and were fresh and quite tasty. Excellent service. Yes, it is a bit pricy for breakfast, but it is located on Michigan avenue in downtown Chicago. All in all, a great breakfast for a reasonable price in a major metropolitan area. Would highly recommend.

Great Breakfast Burritos!

By James G |

This is a great for breakfast and lunch. It’s close to the Hilton, where I was staying, and so much better than the offerings there. Cheaper too! The food is excellent and the staff very friendly. Highly recommended.

Very noisy restaurant, industrial breakfast served.

By Florian020 |

I found this place over rated. It is just so packed! Food is OK but really, quantity over quality. This is like a factory, so crowded ! Kitchen is not really clean, towels on the floor, etc. Really there are better places than a factory for a lovely breakfast !

Disappointed in service

By Barbara H |

Food was fine. The menu used to be larger. Was pretty disappointed in the service. We waited quite a while for a table since they were busy and they eventually passed right over us to people who came after we did. Wildberry is MUCH better.

Nice setting. Good service. Ok food

By Linden H |

Modern breakfast place. Very pleasant and convenient although it gets very crowded. Service was fast and friendly. I thought the French toast was pretty standard and the pancakes were dry. Family liked their omelets although I thought avocado in an omelet was not a good combo (and I love avocado). The chicken and waffles were good, but not the best. Overall, a big step above iHop, but for the price, not worth it in my mind.

Nice brunch spot

By Dmuwanga |

My girlfriend and I walked over to Yolk on a beautiful fall day. We did put our names on the wait list(highly suggested). I did the make your own skillet and it’s a lot of food. The eggs, potatoes, xtra veggies and cheese were enough by themselves. However, mine came with pancakes as well! My friend had the Croque Madame and grits. The sandwich was plentiful with plenty of meat, the cheesy grits could’ve been a bit cheesier. Overall it was a great meal. The service was good until we needed the check and took a bit longer than usual but that was the only downside.

My husband and i stopped in

By Patricia A |

My husband and i stopped in before walking into the Field Museum and i am glad we did. Everything was good. I ordered the corned beef hash & eggs and my husband had the chicken n waffles, which he devoured. The service was good and the waitress was extremely nice. I totally recommend stopping in if you’re in the area.

Excelent place for breakfast

By egisholt |

Food was really good, great service, probably portions too big so it is good to share. I really like the pancakes and the eggs

Yolk is THE best

By SmallTownTina |

The Yolk never disappoints. It’s the only place we eat breakfast when we’re in Chicago. Everything on the menu tastes amazing, from the fresh fruit in the South Beach breakfast pineapple to the Santa Fe Frittata. The strawberry-orange juice is amazing too!

Corned Beef Hash is the best!!

By sunshinegal53 |

Couldn't decide what to get, so my son and I got Eggs Bend, Corned Beef Hash and the crepes!! Everything so excellent! My son says the Eggs Bend was the best he's ever had and I dare say that my Corned Beef Hash was the best I ever had!! LOVE THIS PLACE! I also thing it's great that you can check in on Yelp so it doesn't feel like you have such a long wait!

A Competent, Well-Operated Place for Breakfast

By Mike N |

It was a very busy Sunday and they were able to seat our massive party of 9 after only a 30-minute wait. Everything came out competently. The salmon scramble had way too many onions but otherwise not much to complain about. Efficient and filling.

Ate here several times....

By whileitravel |

My wife and I ate here several times. Their avocado toast and egg/bacon dishes were good. Not cheap eats, but good freshly cooked food. Good service. Clean bathroom.

Not great

By Courtney G |

We've been to Yolk before in a different city and really enjoyed it but this one was not good, the service was a bad and the food was mediocre at best.

Be Hungry When You Get There... Be Very, Very Hungry!

By David M |

This place has a great reputation, and it's easy to understand why. The number of choices-- and the kinds of choices-- are amazing. Service was fast, which was also amazing under the busy circumstances. The restaurant is large, but not exceptionally noisy; that's a pretty good trick in itself. Our server was both efficient and friendly. So, what's for breakfast? I had a three egg omelet with mushrooms, ham, and feta. It was quite good. It came with two pancakes. And fruit. Did I leave something out? My wife had eggs benedict topped with a waffle. Or two waffles, I'm not sure. She thought it was too sweet. Both meals had one thing in common: they were HUGE! A football player would probably be happy there! So, why not a 5 rating? This is a funny one. My wife and I are in our 70's. This was too much food for us, and we hate to see good food wasted, (Note: they also sell 5 egg omelets, if 3 seems too small!) and we don't want to overeat. A downsized Senior breakfast would seem like a great idea to me. Prices at Yolk are already reasonable, but a Senior meal at a slight discount would be a winner for everyone, I think, and would make a very good restaurant into a great one.

Outstanding quality and good value

By Todd E |

We stopped here for a Friday late morning brunch. It was fantastic! I ordered a California Omelet (5 eggs), which came with cheesy grits and two 7 inch diameter pancakes, all for $20. I was expecting a good omelet, but nothing special since there’s only so much you can do with an omelet, right? Well, it was very tasty and better than I expected. The green onions were crisp and the avocados fresh. All of the vegetables just popped flavor! The grits were excellent, and the pancakes had a wonderful sweetness and were very vanilla forward. They were served with real butter and I added pure maple syrup for $2 extra (which came in a small bottle and I took the extra home). I had a nice Arnold Palmer to top things off. 5/5. And it was so much food. I couldn’t finish the grits, and took the pancakes home to enjoy later. I thought $20 was a lot of money for an omelet, but the deal was not as bad as I thought it would be. I’ve had less food, and lower quality food, at that price. For the city in a touristy area, I think was decent. My wife couldn’t decide between the Cheesy Egg Sandwich and the Grilled Cheese Supreme. The waitress encouraged her to select the Cheesy Egg Sandwich, and she was right! The pesto really made the dish pop. Hers was not as much food mine, but still decent value for the city.

So good we overordered and overate

By myl0ginname |

Wow this place is delicious. had the best breakfast here the other day. Two of us dined here for breakfast and we basically ate off of each others plates trying out the delicious food but might I offer in order of favorites Chilaquilles Verdes, West Coast Crepes (both sweet and savory it works!) Nutty Monkey Pancakes and Red Velvet french toast. Also I had probably the best Chai Latte ever there.

Get Here EARLY!

By riceburnergrace |

We can here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. This place is a complete zoo. If you can't get here before 10, be prepared to wait at least an hour for a table. It's loud in here too. It's WORTH IT! The food is amazing!!!

Best breakfast in the Windy City!!

By Suemc430 |

I love this place! When we visit Chicago we also try to eat here at least once for breakfast. The food is sooo good and they give you so much!! The fruit isn’t just “out of the can” and the omelets are amazing!! Wish we lived closer but this is a must stop when visiting the Windy City!!

Breakfast!

By Jim T |

Walked across Chicago River to the north side looking for breakfast and found Yolk at Marina City. On Saturday morning around 9:30 there was a half hour wait but they text you when table is ready so you can enjoy river activity as you wait. We had fried eggs, potatoes, cappucchino....and all was good including service from Chrissy. All in all a great find!

It was cool

By Darryle W |

1. The sausage is AMAZING!! 2. The strawberry orange juice is a must! The atmosphere was nice and our waiter was great. The pancakes were just okay. I would go back again.

NIce breakfast spot

By Ishmael O |

Service from the bar wasn't bad. The chilaquiles were good, but I encountered a piece of clove from garlic in my food along with a price sticker from an avocado. MOD claimed it was from an orange. Cross-contamination? Other than that, food was great.

Great, quick breakfast

By Kelli |

We didn’t have a lot of time, but we wanted something better than fast food for breakfast so we came to Yolk. I had the cheesy egg sandwich (I asked for no tomatoes though), my husband had the chicken & waffles, and our son had the happy cakes with a side of scrambled eggs. Our server was attentive, the food was tasty, and we were in and out pretty quickly.

Come Hungry

Buzzy Brunch in South Loop

By Shanelle |

Busy brunch restaurant with in bright, cheerful space. Yolk has various locations in the city and has been featured in various magazines and tv shows. Came here for brunch on a Saturday after spending all day yesterday at Lollapalooza, so we were in desperate need of sustenance. We put ourselves on the waitlist through Yelp which I would highly recommend because it was still very busy even though we went at an awkward time and it took an hour to get the table. When we were seated, they immediately brought out a water jug and glasses which was greatly appreciated. I split the pot roast Benedict with a friend along with a single serving of the nutty monkey cake. The pot roast Benedict is apparently a staff favorite and we asked for the hollandaise on the side to control the amount of sauce. It comes with two Benedict’s and a side of potatoes - I really liked my food. The beef was tender and the red potatoes were also soft. They do have ketchup on the side but I would recommend the Yolk original hot sauce which was smoky and not too spicy. The habanero hot sauce on the other handle had a strong kick of spice to it. The nutty money cake was really, really rich - I’m glad we only got a single serving and split it. It’s a pancake with bananas, chocolate chips, and peanut butter on top. There’s butter and syrup on the side although we didn’t put those things on. It was so decadent we couldn’t finish it. The peanut butter might be too much and overwhelms the chocolate but it was still good. I also really liked the service here. Even though it was busy, our waitress was super sweet and kept coming by to make sure we were all good. She also proactively asked how we wanted the check split as there was four of us. Overall a really yummy brunch spot with awesome food.

Well worth it

By Marcia M |

Amazing food and coffee. Breakfast and lunch items offered all day. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Breakfast for this foodie

By Henry E |

When I come to visit Chicago, I always try to fit at least one visit into Yolk, a small chain of brunch /breakfast places mostly in the Chicago area. I almost always get the 5 egg California omelet that includes smashed avocado and sour cream, sausage, and peppers. Mine comes with Cheesy Grits (oh my good) and buttermilk pancakes. For a $5 I add a single Nutella crepe (there are other choices as well). There are rotating special pancake flavors that my companion had (dulce de leche on this latest trip.) My companion declared it excellent as well. This place can be busy at times, so check their website for wait times and get on their wait list before hand!

Great variety

By Hollie C |

Soooo good. Had to go back another time before we left for home. I hate spending money on breakfast, but not at this place. Such a variety of food and the service is quick. Will be back!

Large portions. Average food.

By MarkWaters1974 |

Large portions. Average food. Fast service. We got there late Saturday morning. There was a bit of a line up but service was fast and we were seated quickly. Our server was very helpful and our orders came quickly. My potato pancakes/ hash browns were slightly burnt, covered with melted cheese and unfortunately rather tasteless. My son had bacon and eggs and french toast. This was nice. My oldest boy had chicken and waffles and this was ok. Chucked a bit dry and waffles were not fluffy or crunchy. My wife had avocado on toast. This was ok and we shared the banana bread. This was almost like cake and did not have the lovely texture and flavour you want from banana bread. We have been. And probably won’t come again. There are plenty of better breakfast options.

Yummy and Giant Portions!

By TravelinMomma77 |

We loved this place so much, we came back the next day! When you travel in a big city, you know the prices are going to be high, but the portions are normally small. Not at Yolk! Everything we ordered was HUGE, and more importantly, delicious! The service was also great. We recommend the crepes and the potato pancakes. Yum!!!

Great Breakfast or Brunch

By mvwolfpack |

Excellent food worth the wait. Food was great quality and quantity for the price. A must go to location to fill up before visiting the local sites.

FANTASTIC Breakfast!

By Jenny B |

I had read all of the reviews before trying this restaurant while on vacation and I can say that our experience exceeded all of our expectations. This place was very busy, but had plenty of seating and the wait for food was not excessive. The red velvet french toast was absolutely amazing. It was light, fluffy and sweet. The strawberries severed on the side were the perfect touch to a sweet breakfast. The cheese grits were perfect! The strawberry orange juice was delicious as well. We also liked the West Coast Crepes and the chilaquilles verdes (although the chips on that got quite soggy, quite quickly). We enjoyed our meal so much that we actually went back a second time while on vacation. This is a definite MUST if you're in the area. YUM!

A real find!

By Kate K |

Had the most amazing breakfast 2 days in a row. So much to choose from. The meals are quite big as your choice comes with a side of potatoes or grits. Pancakes on the side are a meal in their own right. I was even able to order an espresso coffee. Eggs Benedict and poached eggs were the best we’ve had in The States. All served in a light bright modern setting with friendly staff.

Good option for breakfast if you are willing to wait.

By BadiaW |

After having no luck the day before in trying to find an available breakfast place, my daughter found this place. We got there and the server said that we’d have to wait 15-20 minutes, and were to give our phone number to be able to receive a message when they were ready for us. We waited less time than that and were attended quite quickly. Ordered Eggs Benedict on English muffins and they were quite delicious yet a little light on the Benedict sauce. Bacon waffle was very good, as expected. Overall, nice place, good service, great food, just simply having to wait to enter is the hassle.

Very good sausage

By Glen P |

Had breakfast just before our river cruise. Simple, clean, and affordable. We were seated quickly, the wait staff was friendly and attentive. Put a good breakfast with all that and you get 5 stars. Which one was in canada.

Great breakfast all around

By drpleasant |

Can't ask for a better alternative to a hotel breakfast. Go here instead. A tad pricy but a bargain compared to a hotel.

Breakfast King

By Peter W |

Variety / Quality/ serrvice they have it all. We totally enjoyed our breakfast and went back the second day. Fresh juice and efficient service.

Excellent

By blonde38 |

Came here with my family two mornings in a row as we were staying down the street. Friendly staff, fast service, clean and delicious food.

Warm inviting restaurant with great service!

Great service from Alksandra! Food was so tasty too! Will return the next tim I’m in Chicago. Coffee to go was a great personal touch!

Loved this

By John Goodman |

Big menu, tons of food at a great price, all well prepared. I ate here five days in a row and couldn't wait for the next.

Great breakfast.

By Autumn L |

Great breakfast - busy place. Enjoyed our breakfast here. Good food. Large menu with lots of choices. Service as good.

Ah-mazing food!

By Angie K |

We have visited Yolk several times and the serivce is impecable every single time! They have egg white omelets, turkey sausage and low carb options for the healthy eater! My favorite is when you come in the greet you with a smile and ask How you are doing instead of ..."can I take your order"! Everytime we come to Chicago we will visit here for breakfast!!

Breakfast! Yum

By KrisFarley |

We got here by bus from our hotel on 10/8/2019, and was immediately seated. Our waitress was Terika and she was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable of menu items. The food came out at a decent time, and was pretty good. The tables here were just a little too close together, as most Chicago restaurants are though (so i guess its just something you have to get used to when visiting Chicago). It's usually not a problem, but we had a couple sitting next to us, and every time i said anything, the guy next to us would look at me funny (almost angry like), and apparently after going to the restroom the woman had said something about me? I don't know, it was all very weird. Other than the awkward looks coming from the next table over, it was a decent experience. If you value your personal space, i would request for a table, and not a side booth. I hope this review helps!!

Great Sunday brunch

By Will R |

Great food and atmosphere! We used Yelp waiting list and our table was ready the second that we arrived! Great Sunday brunch :)

Great food

By Amy |

Food is great! It has a great variety of brunch options and I love the skillets! Prices are reasonable

Great breakfast eats

By Vacation746081 |

Eggcellent breakfast had scramble with extras and toast lovely! The coffee came black as normal but milk came in different flavours pods a great idea. Longish wait to get in but worth it knew be busy as Sunday locals were waiting I’d recommend booking in online people seemed to get quicker.

So many Breakfasts

By Lesley B |

Stayed at hotel next door to this cafe on Michigan avenue. Popped in for breakfast. So much to choose from. Healthy right up to dieters nightmare! If you can’t get breakfast here you can’t get it anywhere. Enjoyed my crepes filled with egg, avocados and mushrooms with s bowl of berries. Delicious.

Sadly Disappointed

By SummerLager |

Looked like a cool place, and we actually had to wait, so we thought it was the place to be. Service was great, but the food was only marginal. Eggs Benedict was cold, and was a very small serving. Corned beef hash included a mere whisper of corned beef, along with a plethora of potatoes. The best part was the side of pancakes, which were great. Doubtful we’d go back, as there are so many other options in the city.

Tried something new in the Loop

By Steve S |

First time here.. it was good and I left full. Not sure if I will go back anytime soon. Staff was SUPER nice!!!

Yummy breakfast at Yolk

By Ajerseybear |

Preferred this establishment over the one we had visited on several occasions previously during our time in Chicago. Good selection available and good value. Service was brisk and polite with food coming out not too long after ordering which was very good considering we were a table of 10. Manageable portions. Would recommend.

The Best Breakfast Restaurant in Chicago!

By Road55213951458 |

My friends I took my wife to this place called yolk in Chicago Illinois the address is 1120 S. Michigan Ave. my friends the food and the service was amazing the food was just basically melting your mouth I know I’ve said this before but I mean it if you can eat a whole breakfast they give you you can eat a lot because me and my wife combine couldn’t eat our meals that’s how much food they gave us , try to yacht club that’s a triple decker sandwich man it is a triple-decker sandwich fries and definitely try to gravy cause it was the dye for I loved it and the coffee is amazing try to hazelnut and vanilla French vanilla I’m the type of person I travel all over Canada United States with my business and when I find a really good place that’s got good food I’m gonna let you know now I got a few people to mention! Kelda. Was the waitress, she was so friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable! She made us feel like family eating there! Vincent another amazing gentleman, he helped us with information I needed to do this report! The manager Nico was nice enough to offer me a discount but as you know my friends, I don’t accept but I told him I really appreciated it! Apparently Michelle Velazquez is the General Manger well Michelle I’ve always learned it takes a magnificent general manger to run a organization like this! Lastly apparently the owners name is Taki, you my friend have a restaurant that I recommend extremely highly, unfortunately there hours are 7am-2:30pm 7 days a week! Oh also try their soft drinks, they come with crushed ice! As Always Have A Marvellouss Day! Paul Conway Aka Mr.Marvellouss!

Delicious food, typical wait time for big city!

By SimplyRichy |

Pro tip- check in ahead of time on Yelp! With that being said, the wait time for our table of 4 was 30 mins. Only crappy thing was there were no seats or chairs for the dozens of people waiting but when we finally got our table- whoa. The food is definitely worth the wait! Big portions, delicious and great tasting food and great customer service. The wait for the food was a bit long as well but we didn’t notice it since it was all friends and we passed the time laughing and catching up. Upon leaving, our waitress kindly offered and brought us to go coffee which was great considering it was pretty cold outside! Def will be visiting again. :)

Great place to have breakfast!

By JFPDMD |

The food and service were very good. Lots of choices on the menu. Get ready for large servings... didn’t need to plan on lunch after a breakfast here.

Amazing breakfast

By Sina |

I went with a friend having no expectations and we were surprised. Top location, cute store, everything clean including bathroom and top service. A big choice and variety for breakfast. We shared an omelette and a french toast. Both were amazing, the quantity and quality. We would go there anytime again and the prize was worth it.

Perfect breakfast stop

By BronteBucket |

Loved our breakfast at Yolk. There was a wide choice on the menu and everything was tasty and hot. I tried the fried chicken waffles (because it’s not what we would eat in the UK) and hunt had corn beef hash. Served with OJ and refills of coffee, a perfect start to a day of sightseeing.

Soliciting

By Brianna |

I came here with my husband and daughter for a good breakfast, but it ended up being everything but that. We received our meals and the gravy was burnt. A few bites in and we were approached by what appeared to be a homeless woman asking us to buy her a sandwich. We were completely caught off guard at her request. My husband had no clue how to respond so he asked her how much it was and she replied with “well I don’t know”, like she was expecting us to buy her a sandwich at this pricey place. I told my husband to tell her no so he did. We saw her approach a few more customers and watched the staff just watch her do it and not say anything. Our breakfast was ruined. Completely unbelievable that they let a homeless person walk in a restaurant and ask for people to buy her a meal.

Great breakfast !

By mitchellks59 |

Best menu of any breakfast place!! So many good choices. Our meals were delicious! My only criticism is that it could have been warmer, but it’s got to be tough to deliver delicious hot dishes to such a crowd. We will definitely return!

Great breakfast

By Chris R |

This is a vibrant breakfast location with great service and food. would recommend the eggs benedict which were fab!

Amazing place for breakfast

By tharanh |

Found this place totally by accident as our hotel close by . Range of food on offer fantastic . Staff are extremely professional and explain the menu & keep your coffee topped up constantly . Portions are ginormous you can easily share a portion between too . Also recommend the fresh strawberry orange juice . Scrambled eggs so big could have kept me going all day but also came with 2 standard size pancakes that my daughters were more than happy to wolf down . Wish they had branches in Uk ! Lovely atmosphere & well worth the wait if you have to . Do make sure you check This place out if you visit Chicago

Breakfast with the family

By Freeman Tribe |

Nice place to enjoy a great meal with an awesome selection of food and plenty of portions. We didn't have to wait more than ten minutes but you need to book with Open Table app if you can. Super busy place but they keep up and the food was fresh and tasty.

Breakfast

By Dania Droubi |

The service is quick and friendly. The food was amazing. Well seasoned and big portions. The Nutty Monkey pancake was delicious.

First but not last visit

By Francine D |

Fast and friendly service. Food was fresh and server got everything correct. We tried an omelette, pancakes, and French toast. Everything was delicious. Pricing was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Will be returning.

Latte’s and French Toast!

By Chakasmom |

On vacation on a very rainy day, we were seeking a restaurant breakfast close to our hotel. Yolk is the place! Our server Melissa was right over with hot coffee. My husband order a Chai Latte which he just loved. For breakfast, The Bailey’s French Toast won over our other breakfasts. The cinnamon roll french toast was good but way too much on the sweet side.

Best Burrito!

By Savannah |

Chorizo breakfast burrito was the best thing! The house made hot sauce was also phenomenal - great service, great food and kind staff!

Excellent Menu of Options, Very Well Prepared

By Hajster |

Walking into this restaurant might be a bit off-putting due to the brightly lit atmosphere, high ceilings and busy tables. Interestingly, though, it becomes more intimate as the servers provide such great attention, you become isolated in the crowd. We had a quiet booth that completely shut out the rest of the restaurant. Our server, Sonya, spent tons of time with us helping to understand the huge menu and select some favorites. She was extremely friendly and helpful. The food selections were all varied and interesting, with breakfast or lunch options available at our noon seating. After a difficult down-selection, I chose breakfast, with very tasty waffles with bacon bits while the wife ventured out and tried the croque monsieur (basically French toast turned into a grilled ham and cheese sandwich). Both dishes were well prepared and flavorful, with portions just the right size to be a full meal, but not obscenely huge. The recipes were all very interesting and could easily keep you entertained for multiple visits in a row without worry of getting bored with the selections. Food quality was good, though I withheld the crucial 5th star because some of the items were not completely “from scratch” as one would expect in a boutique cafe offering these kinds of dishes (e.g. ham was not hand carved from the bone, but was from a good quality boneless ham). Overall, we had a great meal and would definitely return on our next trip to the South Loop. I recommend this place over an expensive hotel breakfast any day.

Good breakfast

By GLioness |

With their for breakfast after we got off our plane and headed and checked into our airport. Had to wait a little while for our Room was ready. So we walked to this restaurant after getting a recommendation from the gentlemen who drove us from the airport to our hotel. We waited for about 45 minutes to an hour to get in period it was good food we had a good time.

So many choices to eat!

By Andreas C |

Such a great place for brunch! There are a lot of choices for you to choose, and everything we tried until now it was awesome! Totally suggested to everyone!

Efficient service, massive portions, reasonably priced.

By Chij |

Having not yet acclimatised to USA time I had breakfast here at 6.00am. There were 2 people eating. The service was "matter of fact" being efficient & polite. The portions were massive by UK standards to the extent that when I showed a photo of my breakfast to a friend, she said I should have ordered just one breakfast not two. I told her I did order just one breakfast!! The food was of good quality with plenty of coffee and water. Price was reasonable by UK standards and less expensive and a better deal than Manhattan New York. Would certainly eat here again if I return.

Fun Place

By Betts60 |

This place is hopping and I know why. The food is excellent. The first day I went I did not have to wait. The second time, there was a line outside but was seated fairly quickly. I wish I had had more time to in Chicago so I could try everything on the menu. The wait staff were excellent, friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is loud and fun and busy. I wish there was a Yolk near me.

A welcome back to Chicago breakfast that became brunch

By TheStateOfMe |

After a long day travelling, and an early start whilst adjusting to the time zone, we wanted a BIG breakfast, and knew that Yolk would fit the bill. Breakfast was great, and carried us through to dinner without any need for lunch.

First time visitors

By Rebecca |

The atmosphere was inviting and clean. The service was friendly. The food was very good with large portions. The food was a bit expensive but worth it, I would 100% go again!

Great place to make a hearty breakfast

By FrancescaR1986 |

Very kind staff, fast and punctual service. Definitely hearty dishes, excellent variety and very honest prices. After having breakfast here, we arrived without problems for dinner, skipping lunch. Decent coffee by American standards. Absolutely recommended!

Excellent service

By Kimberly P |

So talk about exceeding expectations! We got on the waiting list before arriving on a busy Sunday morning, wait was cut from 20 to 10 minutes as a result. Waiter was great, friendly and knowledgeable. Food was great, and the hibiscus tea was divine. I highly recommend Yolk!

Good breakfast, arrive early

By Teresa M |

We arrived on Sunday morning about 8 AM. Make sure to arrive before 830 to avoid a wait. We enjoyed the new tele-crapes, turkey sausage, and the bacon was good and crispy. Service was quick and very pleasant.

Short walk around the corner from the Hilton Garden for Breakfast 08/08/22

By raybyerley |

This was the last day of the beginning of our family vacation in Chicago and we needed a nice fairly fast breakfast so we could get to the Field museum and have at least 4 hours there before having to leave. It is very convenient along Michigan Ave. right around the corner from our hotel. For 4 of us we had: - Cinnamon roll french toast with fruit (picture attached) that was very good; - west coast crepes (no picture) but very good also; - a country skillet (picture also attached that was also very good; - yogurt with granola and berries ( picture attached) that my wife liked; - strawberry / orange juice surprisingly good; - endless cups of coffee. Svenja did a great job helping us.

We expected a wait after visiting the other yolk on our last visited, however we didn't think it would be for 1hr 1/2 :( .. we stayed, it's a great little park across the street( grant park) so we went there , walked down by the water and the surrounding area , which by the way was very nice then headed back and our table was ready. We sat ,order our drinks and food and within mins our breakfast was served. service was fast once you get seated, and again the food was great . We had a service i think she was from norway , tall, accent, attentive and very kind..The prices are very affordable and the portions are a nice size as well.

Delicious, Large Servings, Great Service

By JillClardy |

We were staying in a small hotel nearby which has no restaurant, and they recommended Yolk to us. We ate there 3 times during our 4 day stay! The menu is different from the standard breakfast fare found everywhere else. They offer numerous omelettes, some with 5 eggs!, scrambles, pancakes, waffles, Benedict’s and other appealing items. I had avocado toast one day and a breakfast sandwich another day. Service was fast and friendly, and everything perfectly prepared. The portions are so large that we skipped lunch each day we ate there. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be an option for light eaters. I would have liked just a bit of fruit and a muffin or bagel or biscuit.

best breakfast in the city!

By pizzaguy44 |

We have had breakfast here twice in the past 3 weeks, service and food are excellent. The entire staff was friendly and attentive, food was delicious and plentiful.

Excellent eating experience and a kind greeting

By Javed S |

We were welcomed with professionalism and friendliness as soon as we arrived. We felt really appreciated by the staff, who paid close attention to us. The dish was superb; it was flavorful and tastefully prepared. The entire service seemed well-planned and considerate. I will always cherish this vacation and heartily recommend it to anyone seeking delicious meals and authentic friendliness.

Weekday breakfast spot

By RaMo09 |

Restaurant was packed. Placed a to go order. Food was about 20 minute wait, so we walked outside to visit the park. You’ll need to figure out parking before going. Our ride circled the building but I didn’t see parking on site.

Nice Yolk

By Gemini5930 |

Nice place. I’m familiar with Yolk from visiting the Yolk in the train station several times. This location is a little smaller but great Yolk food as always and attentive service as always.

Great Food / Great Service

By Danny D |

Was visiting Chicago on a Business Trip. Had breakfast here on the last day or our trip. I had the California Omelette and my friend had the Iron Man Omelette. Both were very well prepared. Service was great - Coffee was good. Over all a great dining experience,

Delicious breakfast with many innovative choices.

By Robert P |

Delicious breakfast with many innovative choices. Breakfast has been done many ways but Yolk’s lemon blueberry pancakes are new and delicious. Egg crepes were executed well. Cold brew and other beverages were well done.

Good breakfast

By emueller9 |

good classic breakfast - ok coffee (too bad they didn't have cream instead of the little pre-packaged creamers); I'd go there again - surprisingly good given how busy it was

Morning Glory

By JEY C |

Great place for a delightful breakfast. Great traditional and nontraditional option. Delicioso. Great service too. Wake up early!

Great breakfast spot

By Trulibra |

The food was excellent. The wait time was 45 minutes for a party of two. If you plan to visit, place your name on the list ahead of time.

Good Range of Breakfast Options

By Jeffrey Koslowski |

Yolk is really close to our hotel (Hilton Garden Inn) and was a far better option than the restaurant that is built onto it. There are a lot of different options so something for everyone. If you get an early enough start, there should be a good amount of available seating but it will get busy around 10:00 or so.

Exceptional selection, fast kitchen and fantastic service

By Jenn |

The choices are extensive, the food fantastic and the service exceptional. My husband ordered a big breakfast and also got a side of fried chicken smothered in gravy. I chose a lighter option with turkey sausage and gluten free bread. They truly have anything you could wish for breakfast.

Breakfast for 4 adults

By Pamela B |

Breakfast for 4 adults on a Saturday morning around 7:30/8:00. The place was not busy and had A LOT of staff working for some reason. Food was good though, service was good due to all that staff, and they kept the coffee coming. Would recommend it.

Great American atmosphere, fab service

By John H |

We had a fab breakfast as a family today, the waitress was just a delight (sorry I can't remember your name), your cheerful and chatty manner was a breath of fresh air to everything we have encountered in Chicago. The food itself was brill, some special pancakes, kids portion and Eggs Benedict were really good and it was a pleasure to see locals in there as well.

Yummy food

By Ind |

Was here for a breakfast. The restaurant did get very busier by 10:30 for brunch with a long wait. Ordered the avocado Omelette. It was too good and a LOT of food actually. Also had ordered a Nutella Crepe which I didnt even get to so had to take it to go. Have not tasted it this delicious ever. Thank you Yolk.

Not worth the hype

By Debbie F |

Ordered sweet and savoury crepes. Disappointing . Was hoping it would match the San Francisco crepe place but not even close

Awesome Breakfast!!!!!

By Chris B |

I wish I would have found this before I paid for the overpriced breakfast buffet at The Hilton right up the road. The meal was ordered fast and very tasty.

A Chicago Breafast

By Jasmine Flowers |

We came here as a family of 3 without reservations and got right in! Very busy place with quick service. Our server was polite and got our orders right. Food was tasty and fun and definitely worth a visit. Close to a lot. We started off with a carafe of the orange-strawberry juice and pour over coffee and each order different items- all great.

Go here for a breakfast or brunch!

By Frida L |

Good food and great portions! What pulled down was that we got a little wrong order but it was fixed. Unfortunately, we also got the places where there are most staff going in and out. But otherwise great, nice atmosphere and good food and actually approved coffee (Swedish standards).

It’s a go to place for breakfast near Millennial park.

By Victor B |

Portions are big and almost all the core entrees are about $16-$22, so you can’t go wrong. Our server, Svenja, was fast and friendly! VictorB

Wow a place with real tea!!

By NDeCh |

Excellent HOT tea, which is super hard to find. Great selection of items, friendly staff. They make their own yogurt - deliciously creamy. We made it our daily breakfast spot for our several day stay.

Great breakfast!!

By pirula778 |

Popular place. There was a wait but not too long. Really delicious orange juice and good strong coffee. Service was friendly and efficient. My Benedict Caprese was fantastic, and the breakfast potatoes are perfectly seasoned and not greasy. My son loved his breakfast burrito. Atmosphere is bright and cheerful. It's on the loud side, but somehow in the morning, on vacation, to wake up it was okay. Highly recommend.

Great

Brunch perfection

By paulina TMR |

This is the #1 place to grab brunch in Chicago, trust me, I have lived here for over a decade, and no one can match their food or even better yet, their consistency, which is an underrated quality. All dishes are fantastic, but I have some favorites of course... the eggs benedict, the patty melt, and extra crispy bacon.

Great Breakfast Place

By Rhonda L |

This restaurant menu has an amazing variety of sweet and savory breakfast foods! Our party ordered 4 different items and each one was delicious, but the featured pancake of the month, lemon blueberry, was the best pancake I have ever had. The service fast. The portions are good sized.

Worth the wait

By Pangaean |

Worth the wait (and use the online option to put your name in). Great food and service... and coffee! Had the seasonal horchata cold brew coffee. Yummy. The husband loves burgers in Chicago, this one included. Chili is also good (we're particular about our chili, and while not what we make at home, this is worth ordering--and add the Yolk hot sauce!)

Waited 50 minutes for food.

By AAWickland |

My sister and I arrived before 11:00 a.m, and were seated by 11:05. We had coffee and tea, and began to ask about the delay at 11:30 and was told food was coming. 15 minutes later I went to the desk to complain. People who had been seated after us had eaten and left. At 11:50 we got up to leave. Manager came over, said the food was up, we declined staying any longer. She offered to wrap it to go without charge. She showed us the order sheet that showed the waitress had not put in the order until after 11:30, arguing that we had not waited that long. We were too upset to accept the food and would not have been able to eat it where we were going. Such a huge disappointment, as I had really wanted their Yacht Club for days after seeing it on the menu. Looks like a popular restaurant and I believe the food is probably very good, but our experience was the worst. The waitress was apologetic but still accepted money for the coffee and tea!

They charged me for a breakfast I didn't order.

By Healing Y |

I ordered a specific breakfast and they brought me with a different one and still charged me when the mistake was theirs. Very Bad Service

Delicious Breakfast Stop!

By JustLivingLife |

My husband and I were in town for a little getaway, and this restaurant came up in my search for local breakfast spots. The place was clean, the service was great, and the food was awesome (not to mention it came out very quickly)! I highly recommend this for anyone in the area! You will not be disappointed!! Note: We also visited the Streeterville location, but the service and cleanliness wasn't as great. I prefer the S. Michigan Ave location!

Good place for breakfast

By Almpt3 |

The food was tasty. I got the red velvet French toast. The only downfall is the parking. Parking is limited within this area. The service was good as well. I would definitely go back.

Super place for a good breakfast

By Matt C |

Corned beef hash with poached eggs and a muffin sets you up for the morning when washed down with a continuous supply of good coffee. The waitress was helpful and friendly. a really busy and lively atmosphere. I would highly recommend Yolk for breakfast.

Great Breakfast and Great Service

By Uhde Family |

I can't say enough great things about this place. The service is great, the food is amazing and I love that you can see the food being prepared. The red velvet french toast should be illegal. It is like a dessert! So good!

Good eats!!!

By Denise L |

Our first experience was so delicious we had to go back and try different foods. Go!!! You will not be disappointed. Everything is fresh and made to order. The coffee is delicious not bitter and the bacon is thick sliced prepared to your liking. The restaurant is busy but clean including the restrooms. Super terrific waitstaff. GO!!!

Consider this place for breakfast, lunch and beyond

By Arthur Ratliff |

Good food, great location, and excellent service. There were many choices in the South Loop, but none better than this. We will definitely go back.

Odd flavors and hours old pancakes.

By Clint B |

I ordered a California omelette, cheese grits and pancakes. The omelette had a very odd taste that didn’t match the ingredients list. The grits were ok, but the pancakes were old enough to have a skin and were tough from being in a warmer.

Breakfast

By michelehornberger |

My daughter and I had a wonderful breakfast here. The place was hopping as it was a Sunday morning. We sat at the counter and our waitress was extremely friendly. I’m watching my calories so I didn’t get a chance to try their delicious pancakes. My daughter had the eggs Benedict.

Had a 45 min wait but food is very good

By patriciamW1066KQ |

Very good food, resturant is always busy on Sun. but this time we had over 45 min wait. Still was very good!

Amazingly good breakfast

By ny1001 |

Went to Yolk for breakfast as it was close to our hotel. It's always quite full and it took about 45 mins before we could sit down. We tried a few breakfast places and while there were also a long wait for those, this was definitely the best. Huge selection of menu items, the food was good, decor was nice. Our waitress was very helpful in recommending us some of the specialties. Prices were also really reasonable.

Busy breakfast spot near Grant Park

By Bridget2727 |

The meal was good. The eggs were alright, but the pancakes were great. The restaurant was very busy on a Saturday. I like that they text you when you’re up for a table. Our service was excellent. KELDA was amazing!

Great service, good atmosphere.

By US_Expats |

Friendly, well organized. Interesting menu. Would have to visit a few more times to learn what menu descriptions actually mean. Surprised at what appeared.

Happy Place

By 54dragonfly |

On our first day we went to brunch at Yolk’s. The place was packed, but we waited less than 10 minutes. There were 4 of us so we all ordered different items. Very good variety to pick from. I had the Santa Fe Frittata, which was delicious. And, I had their seasonal lemon and blueberry stuffed pan cakes; wickedly amazing!!!! I could have those at least once a week😂😂. The service was great. Go visit and enjoy.

Scrumptious

By satagtbct |

Highly Recommend for a Scrumptious Breakfast whilst visiting Chicago. A Warm welcome from the waitress/ waiter’s 10/10

Good spot to grab breakfast

By Kirsten H. |

Went for breakfast while in Chicago on a business trip. Portion size was huge and the food was good. Asked for my potatoes extra crispy and was pleasantly surprised that they came out that way. That doesn’t always happen.

Breakfast

By Camila W |

The place was very busy, the service was excellent. The menu is extensive and everything we tried was good. It's worth going.

Superb! Well worth a visit ;-) But expensive

By Peter M |

Great location - So we dropped in for breakfast... Nice and big, airy comfortable feel, nice welcome and sat in a booth! So looked at the menu - everything such big portions... So ordered and sat and waited. Food arrived pretty quick, yes as I thought huge !!! Excellent taste, and so hot too... They obviously cook to order! So I ate about half of mine - My son about 75% of his and we were totally full!!! Great food location and service - But I think prices are high!

weekday visit was well worth it

By Nebraskaprof |

We visited Yolk on a Thursday morning and only waited 10 minutes for a table. The food was well worth it - some of the best eggs Benedict that I've had. Service was equal to the food - prompt, friendly, anticipated everything we needed. I enjoyed the booth seating because tables were close together. I'll go back again every time we're in Chicago.

Eggcelent Restaurant

By bigjoe950 |

Everything about Yolk was fantastic. The service, the food, the coffee, and the atmosphere. Our server had the most sincere smile and personality. She was delightful. We each had a scramble which left us powered-up for the day. I only wish Yolk was located near our home in Michigan.

Delicious, healthy, great service

By Vince Londini |

Amazing Baby Kale Scrambler, Baby Kale blueberry, strawberry, chicken salad. Great service. Thank you, Svenjana!

Amazing New Years Day breakfast.

By paulswoop |

Amazing New Years Day breakfast. We visited here on New Years Day around 09 and got a table straight away however by the time we left they were queuing out of the door so glad we arrived early. The service was great and our waitress was so nice and genuine. The food was amazing and plenty of refills on my coffee which is always something that keeps me happy. Prices were reasonable for the City now I am used to how expensive US can be with the current pound v dollar exchange rate. Not sure if this is a chain outside of Chicago but would 100% return or look for another location if I am visiting another state. I had the country skillet (think that’s what it was called) and it was lovely.

Great Brunch

By JayeFlo |

I enjoyed 2 cups of coffee, the salmon scramble, cheesy grits and pancakes. Yum Yum Yum!!! We need one of these in Brandon or Riverview.

Breakfast

By Lazflmstar |

Good family spot. Kids were able to find items they wanted to eat. Pricing of food seemed reasonable but I haven’t eaten very often in Chicago so not enough to compare it to. Food was good and came quickly.

Great breakfast spot

By jenned17 |

Popular breakfast spot downtown. Exceptional Nutella crepes with bananas and strawberries. The orange strawberry juice was pretty tasty. Food served hot and fresh.

Absolutely amazing

By Ann L |

We had no problem with waiting about half an hour with a very organised line system of texting (plus supported by the Yelp App) when table is ready. It is worth the wait. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast food. This is a must for every visit to Chicago.

Great Food

By Voyager564039 |

The food and service were excellent. Only complaint I have is that it is also a bit pricey; but...it is Chicago and good food generally is pretty pricey. :)

Not The Best - Not The Worst

By egwanderlust |

Overall, our experience at Yolk was just okay. The service felt rushed, and like we were on a conveyor belt. The menu is innovative - some traditional and some not-so-traditional items. I absolutely loved the strawberry orange juice - wish I ordered a full carafe. For our meals, my husband ordered their specialty breakfast sandwich, and I ordered the chicken & waffles. Unfortunately, the waffle and gravy flavors did not go together - disappointing. Due to the prices and low quality, I can say we won't be back.

Great breakfast!

By NewtonDad |

We just had breakfast at Yolk - South Loop. The food was amazing! I had the cinnamon roll french toast which was very good. Other people in our group has waffles and skillets - everyone liked their food. The waitress was very friendly and attentive.

Average Breakfast

By Caitlin M |

Unfortunately, I wasn’t overly impressed by this restaurant. It wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t the best. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and was a little disappointed. I found the gravy to be on the sweeter side, so I couldn’t eat much. However, the breakfast potatoes were amazing and I’m not usually a breakfast potato lover! The service was very slow, though the restaurant was busy so that could’ve played a role. Overall, I’d be willing to go back and try a different dish!

Excellent Breakfast Restaurant!

By Chicago_FJR |

Yolk is an excellent place to eat! The decor is sunny, warm, n friendly. Our server, Jason, was nothing short of fantastic with spot on n timely service, refills, & check-in's. Thank you, Jason! Thank you Chef n Team for preparing excellent food pleasing to both eye & palate. While Yolk is definitely on the expensive side of any of its peers, even setting aside the upgrades we made, the food is truly delish. It has an expansive menu sure to please the most finicky of eaters. The food is some of the tastiest of any of its peers and its portions are generous (you won't leave hungry!). Yolk is such a treat! I recommend it completely, you won't be disappointed! Appreciatively, Patrick Shaughnessy Chicago, IL

Breakfast

By Richard Ritchie J |

Clean, friendly staff, lovely food, great selection, reasonable prices, nice airy ambience, would highly recommend and definitely come back

Ah that French toast!

By Robert HC |

Everything you could want for breakfast and more. The five egg omelettes are frankly enough for a family but the French toast with granola, honey, Greek yoghurt and berries was sensational. Fast friendly and (despite today’s shocking sterling value) great value

Get the lemon blueberry pancakes!

By Jessie R |

Delicious! I ordered the lemon blueberry pancakes and they were decadent. I also ordered eggs and potatoes and they were good, potatoes were red taters-not my favorite but they were soft.

Good Breakfast

By Trooper1351 |

The food and service were really good. The place was packed, but we got seated and waited on immediately. The food came out quickly consider the crowd. The only minor issues was not receiving avocado that we ordered.

Great food and service.

By nikki7250 |

First, the service was great. We were originally seated at a table we didn’t prefer. When we asked, they relocate us immediately, no issues. Secondly, the food was great. I had the West Coast Crepes and a Lemon Blueberry [pan]Cake. The Crepes were amazing. Excellent combination of sweet and savory. The lemon blueberry pancake was a bit too sweet but the fresh blueberries on top really helped balance out the sugary sweetness of the lemon glaze. Would absolutely recommend.

WOW THIS PLACE IS GREAT

By rbaker992 |

Short walk from hotel to YOLK, recommended by hotel staff. the food was excellent, very large diverse menu. fair pricing, big portions and friendly staff

Great breakfast and large portions

By Jason S |

This was close to our hotel. We needed breakfast. Proximity and the fact that they do breakfast made it a good fit. I had an omelet and toast. The portion was so large that I couldn't eat it all. It was delicious. I particularly liked the house made jelly for the toast. Overall, this was a great place to get breakfast before a long day out and about the town.

Yummy Yolk

By camollkoy |

Sunday morning breakfast. Fast pleasant. service. Yogurt with granola, fruit and honey was spectacular. Large airy space.

Yolk just wot it says on the glass

By windy1875 |

We had visited yolk before on a previous holiday so knew what to expect. We sat at the bar watching meal after meal being prepared and dispatched which made for exciting start to our breakfast as it allows us to view before we ordered. Red velvet French toast and omelette both delicious washed down with lattes

Starting the day in Chicago

Great restaurant... Finally after 6 years I’m back here... Full with family but I don’t mind. Awesome food!

Our last breakfast in Chicago

By Stepeo60 |

If it could be possible to eat here earlier, I would have had breakfast every morning there. My wife had eaten there the day before and highly recommended it. Staff and service is really very good, but the food, I cannot give it enough praise. Very clean bright and a really good menu.

Solid Breakfast

By DoCo Tommy |

We had breakfast here on a Sunday morning around 1pm. Had to wait about 30 minutes. The food was good, pancakes average. Service was excellent, the food was served hot. We are in and out. Seems like noon to one is a busy time. On our way out of there was no line and tables were open. I would go again if convenient.

Awesome food but slower service and VERY LOUD

By PrincessInArmor |

We were visiting Chicago and went back to Yolk for breakfast because we remembered it being a good place to eat. The food was still really good - waffle benny, French toast, cheesy grits and potato cakes - but the service was a LOT slower than in the past, and the place was really loud! We had to yell to be heard at the table, so we just gave up talking to each other. The waitress had a hard time hearing us when we were ordering. It's a shame they haven't installed some kind of baffling to reduce the noise levels when they're busy. I'm worried that their staff will develop hearing loss over time - I work in a factory where the noise levels are >85 dBA and we have to wear hearing protection to keep our hearing protected.

This place deserved a 2nd visit.

By Dean |

Amazing breakfast, if you are anywhere near this restaurants, it is a must..... one of the best places I have been to in a very long time.... A+++++

Quick breakfast near the "museum campus"

By 2007Europe |

A basic breakfast of two eggs with toast and fried potatoes was generous. My cinnamon roll French toast was a bit underwhelming for $13.00, though. It was, as you might expect, simply a cinnamon roll sliced in thirds and cooked like French toast - at least, the bottom two pieces were. the top, which had frosting, was cold, and would probably have lost the frosting if it was grilled. Coffee was good, as was the service. Glad we arrived before 9:00 on a Saturday morning, as a large crowd came in while we were there.

Average American style brunch place

By Halsey |

Average American style breaky. Yogurt is too sour and muffins are stifling. Still, good place for a brunch on an ordinary day! Just for record

Great Breakfast Place

By Kristen S |

We have been to Yolk each time we have visited the south loop in Chicago. It's a popular and busy place but even on a Saturday morning, we were able to get a table within 20 minutes. We started off with a carafe of the orange-strawberry juice and pour over coffee. The family ordered a breakfast skillet, eggs Benedict, nutella crepes, and breakfast macaroni and cheese. Everything was delicious. The service was fast, efficient and courteous. It wasn't cheap but the quality of the food was first rate. I would highly recommend this place.

Go and enjoy

By TeacherEating |

Went here for breakfast. Get here early to get a seat. We got tgere Saturday morning and the place was full. Got lucky as a table was leaving; waited just 5mins total. Food was good and reasonably priced. Service was a little slow that day but it was a Saturday morning and we were just going to a museum. My bf got coffee instead of the juice he ordered but then I decided to drink the coffee; they gave us the coffee for free. Coffee was better than many places; tasted like coffee Ive had at expensive dinner places. Juice about 5ounces but was enough for us. For my breakfast, I was able to choose sides like cheesy grits, meat (they have turkey sausages) and starch which included pancakes as an option. My bf enjoyed his green eggs and ham. See pics for prices and other options. Overall, we both enjoyed the experience.

Great Breakfast

By Whitney K |

We made a reservation for breakfast here while staying in town at the Best Western Grant Park. I had the Benedict Caprese, and it was so good! It was busy in the restaurant, but the staff was still pretty attentive. Nice atmosphere, a little loud with all the people but the food was definitely worth it. We would eat here again.

Fantastic breakfast spot very close to Best Western Grant Park and not far from the nearby Hilton Hotel

By j_edpie |

We opted to try Yolk since it was very close to our hotel, Best Western Grant Park and the hotel breakfast was lacking enough protein for women who planned to walk a lot to tour Chicago. Service is wonderful and quick. We had breakfast here both mornings of our stay since we enjoyed our first breakfast so much. The first day I had eggs Benedict, coffee, and grapefruit juice and my friend who loves sausage gravy and biscuits asked if she could just get one biscuit and the gravy, they only brought out a small condiment size container of gravy, but, quickly brought her a larger bowl of gravy. The coffee here is very good and so is food. Most breakfasts are pretty big & some come with pancakes, too, which I missed seeing the second day when I ordered a breakfast skillet! Mine skillet was delicious and so were pancakes, but, I do not usually eat pancakes in the morning, too sweet for me. The second day my friend ordered the sausage gravy & biscuit breakfast and portions were big, except, she really loves her gravy & if not for me giving her the gravy that came with mine she would have needed more, she loved it. It can get very busy, a testament to the service & quality of food!

Old potatoes should not be served

By ibead18 |

We ordered West Coast Crepes. The creps were very good but the potatoes were VERY old. They must have been prepared days before and warmed up for us. Very disappointing.

Great brekky or lunch

By Heather B |

Since we are staying right around the corner, we've made this our go-to late morning brunch spot during our visit to Chicago. Generally a great place: super-nice staff, imaginative and varied menu. Must recommend the Avocado Toast with smoked salmon; any of the omelets; the Breakfast Mac & Cheese (trust me, it's great!) And the excellent coffee & lattes. But skip the pancakes, which seem doughy and a bit undercooked.

Upscale breakfast spot

By Leslie J |

Wonderful breakfast choice. Prices reasonable. Not all the same old, same old. Some interesting twists on your standard choices. Service was excellent. The cinnamon roll was yummy!

Amazing breakfast

By Sabrina B |

Our hotel doorman suggested Yolk to us for breakfast. It was delicious! Great prices, large amount of food, and fantastic service! Definitely recommend!

Breakfast lovers’ heaven

By Cheryl N |

A must-visit for breakfast lovers! Great service, delicious food, huge breakfast menu! Also, they have a menu of lattes that as this truly unique, including a yummy Cherry Pie Latte.

Amazing

By MamaShell |

Often times, trendy eateries pop up and disappear before you even get a feel for them. This is not one of those places. Every single thing we had, from the drinks to the service to the fabulous breakfasts, was absolutely outstanding. Yes, they offer avocado toast. But more importantly, they offer a wide selection of fresh, from-scratch menu choices that will knock your socks off - even the staples. If you're in the area, you HAVE to stop in here for breakfast.

Great breakfast place

By Robsaga |

Great breakfast place!  It's always a buzz with breakfast-eers.  I would've rather there everyday on my four day stay, but only found it on my second day.  Had their corned beef hash is made by their own cooked brisket.  The first day.  And on the second day I had a bacon, sausage scramble with potstoes..  both breakfasts were served with pancakes as a side. Service was quick.   Yolk was walking distance to my hotel and there were surrounding hotels as well on Michigan Ave.  Go here if you're hungry for breakfast when you're staying on Magnificent Mile.
