Happiness Hour in Dallas

By trinibadboy |

The happy hour is very inexpensive with tapas and sushi roll options. Drinks: beers for a buck, cosmos between 3-4 dollars.

Very good quality and great happy hour

By Ronaldtaxman |

Across the parking lot from the Spring Hill Suites in the West End of Dallas. This restaurant was recommended by the hotel staff. We were not disappointed. Great happy hour drinks and food. We liked it so much that we went back the second night. They have beers for .50 cents, but yes they are only 6 ounces. My wife enjoyed the seaweed salad and the coconut soup. I had several sushi items along with seafood. The restaurant had a rather large crowd at 7:00 PM which shows that it is popular. If I ever return to Dallas I would want to eat here again.

Great Happy Hour Menu

By indie b |

This was recommended to me as a non-touristy, locals hangout with a good happy hour sushi / asian menu (daily from 3-7). Seriously, I felt like this menu couldn't be beat for price and freshness. I went back twice during my week long stay in Dallas. As sushi goes, I wouldn't say it was the best in the world, BUT, most importantly the fish was succulent and fresh...fairly crucial to eating sushi. The drinks menu was ridiculously low priced and offered deals on saki, wine, beer and drinks. Service at the bar was attentive and friendly. Note: There was a sign on the door that said they were locating to another spot in downtown Dallas.

Do Not Be Afraid to Walk In

By Mystelody |

This place does not look good on the outside but after yelping it, we decided to try it out. The ambience is just a notch higher than the exterior (i.e. not that great either) but the food and drinks were decent and affordable. I think the value (of food and service) we received matched the price we paid. Fair in my account.

Wow, amazing food and service

By Linda L |

Hotel recommended we try this place... Located right across street from spring hill suites in west end...so glad we did, best food we ate while in Dallas. Waitress was always available, refilling drinks, clearing plates, asking if we needed anything. Tom yum soup was best I ever had! Calamari was great.. Kids loved the edamame and dumplings and chicken on a stick! Dipping sauces were fantastic.we also had pad Thai (great) and some sushi off happy hour menu. Happy hour is great too. We had no idea but 3-7 is the time to go. .50 cent drafts and good selection of drinks, apps and tapas are also on happy hour menu. Great ambiance too! Saw other tables were enjoying yards of beer, that looked fun! Great menu with pics and description of food.

This location doesn't exist

By Barbara M |

The address 1914 Laws Street is a parking lot. An empty, rainy parking lot. The downtown Dallas location is on 300 N Akard Street, about 0.5 miles southeast of this parking lot.

Lots of food!

By Aud E |

I walked in here on a whim and was not disappointed. I ordered a rice entree-#4 spicy. Could have been more spicy but tickled my tongue just enough. The pot stickers were awesome. They gave me some sushi roll in my box that I did not eat but it looked nice. Great food, good value overall.

Great Sushi

Sat at the bar with my nephew. The bartender was great and helpful in explaining menu items and making suggestions.

A Real Surprise

By AdvturePioner |

This place was incredible, taste amazing, prices good, especially to be so close to the aquarium. Def going back again.

Food okay, service poor

By ROsemary6_13 |

The two of us had to wait a ridiculous amount of time for some food that was just average. It added insult to injury that during our hour plus wait every staff member in the place found time to get underneath a huge dragon costume and dance around for ten minutes banging pans and drums. I think it was for a customer's birthday but I'm not sure because they disappeared outside. I won't be back as there are lots of restaurants in the area that are much better in terms of food and service.

A business review

By Fran U |

I work at a local hospital on the night shift; after 2 years of dealing with this establishment I have decided enough is enough. The order is usually not correct; the last order was to correct a previous order that was not correct, the shrimp was fried (correct) but cold, limp and the breading tasted like it had been made and fried hours before. I always ask for but never get in carry out extra sauce to drown the taste of seafood and of course this time was no different and my "roll" tasted old also. The less than an hour took almost 2 hours.

Late lunch

By Camille K |

We had a large family group and actually arrived twenty minutes before closing. The staff was amazing and took great care of us. The kids really enjoyed the chef. Thank you for accommodating us.

Super Thai & Japanese Food

By MenalS |

This place is great. The atmosphere, service quality, and quantity is all very good. We were in Dallas in early September and we ate here three nights in a row. Everything that we ordered from the menu was fresh and very tasty. The Sushi bar is small, but the food is great. This is not a high end place, yet the presentation, and quality is great.

Sad lunch

By rherb27 |

I g o to this restaurant quite a bit however, this visit the service was horrible which is isnt outstanding anyway but the food normally makes up for it. This time not case. I got a bento box with vegetables in hot garlic with shrimp. I wasnt offered fried rice and it looked like they just stuck the shrimp on as an after thought. Not very seasoned to say the least. I always get the Louisiana roll this time It had no meat and hardly any advocato. It looked like a rice roll. I ordered hot green tea an it wasn't warm. Terrible visit.

Fantastic food!

By nstadler |

Family of four visiting Dallas for NHL Winter classic. We were staying just up the street from Zenna and decided to try upon recommendation from our Uber driver. We were very happy and full when we left Zenna. The service was good and the food was Excellent! We had Pad Thai Noodles with Beef, Teriakyi chicken with vegetables, Thai Peanut.

Good Happy Hour

By TSchenk |

My wife and I ate here on a recent business trip to the downtown area. We did visit during happy hour and as others have noted the prices are pretty good. However, I really don't recommend the sushi, even at the lower price. We tried three different rolls and they were really not very good. Most guests seemed to be ordering their Thai offerings and those did look quite appetizing. Less than exceptional food quality coupled with slow service makes us not likely to try this establishment again.

Inexpensive and Good

By kgilbert78 |

We went here twice while in Dallas for a convention. I saw it on my way heading to a game at the arena and it was also recommended by some of the locals that put on our convention. The first time we went for appatizers and dessert. The satay was ok--the chicken was a little dry but it was properly char-grilled. Sushi was fresh and good. Deserts were very good--a black riche with custard and fried bananas with ice cream. That brought us back a couple of nights later--we were there for happy hour, which was a good value (both appetizers and beer) and we tried the Pad Thai too. I would have liked just a little more flavor fromt the pad thai, but it was good and you got a lot. Prices were very good, espeically for downtown. We both liked the eclectic decor. They were re doing the outside patio on our first trip, and that looked nice on our second trip. I have a feeling it wa snew--and a good addition (we did not choose it as the evening was slightly chilly and there were smokers).

New Location, Same Great Format (300 Akard St. Dallas)

By traveltot11 |

Zenna has moved to a new location in downtown Dallas. I have eaten here twice since the move. The food and service is still great! Same awesome happy hour food and drink specials. This is one of my favorite places in Dallas.

We never received our food after three hours and twenty minutes

By pgraham415 |

Gather around the metaphorical campfire and listen to my tale of the time I tried to order delivery food from Zenna from their website... It was 11 am on a Sunday morning and three of my friends and I were a little worse for the wear after a night of drinks and revelry. We reached a consensus that nothing sounded better than hot, spicy, curry at that moment. We passed around an iPhone and input our order through Zenna's online ordering system. The website alerted us that delivery time was typically one hour. "I'm sure the food will come quicker than an hour since it is a Sunday morning." After about twenty minutes (now 11:20 am), we received a phone call from someone preparing the food. He told us that Zenna was out of rangoon sauce and asked if we were okay with receiving a credit back to my credit card for the value of the crab rangoons. We said that this wasn't a problem. The fact that this phone call occurred will be important later because it establishes that our order had been received and was being prepared. After an hour and fifteen minutes (12:15 pm), we called Zenna to ask about the status of our order. We were not panicking yet, because after all the delivery time was an estimate after all. We were told that all orders had left the restaurant and that our food was in the delivery car. Ours stomachs were beginning to rumble, so we called back fifteen minutes later (12:30 pm). We asked about the status of our food delivery. A man told us that he would contact the delivery person and call us back with his findings. The phone call never arrived. With our stomachs rumbling louder and our patience thinning we call back ten minutes later (12:45 pm). We asked if the man had made contact with the delivery person. He said that he had and that the delivery man had just dropped off a large order at Methodist Hospital and that he would be coming by our address next (I Google Mapped this and it should have taken ten minutes). We were perturbed that he had not called us back like he had promised. A friend and I had to leave at 1 pm to go to the nearby Apple Store for a 1:20 pm Genius Bar appointment. We were hungry, exhausted, and frustrated that we were going to have to brave the crowds at the Apple Store on an empty stomach. We left behind two other friends to receive the food when it arrived. At 1:15 (while sitting in the Apple Store), I call back the number I had been calling and it when straight to voicemail. I then call the official Zenna Downtown location number and ask to speak with the manager. I am put on hold. 15 minutes elapse while am on hold (it has now been over two and a half hours since we placed our online order). While I am on hold, I have my friend at the Apple Store to call the same number to try and get through. While on hold, I navigate on an open MacBook to the "Contact us" section of Zenna's website. I send a message that said: "SOS - I have been waiting on my food for 2.5 hours and am currently on hold. Please help us get our food." After 20 minutes on hold (1:35 pm), I hang up in disgust. At this point, I had come to terms that we would never receive our food and if we did, it would be cold and inedible. We wait thirty more minutes (2:05 pm) and begin bombarding Zenna with more phone calls. The restaurant would not pick up the phone. We eventually get someone to pick up the phone after fifteen minutes (2:20 pm). The person told us that our food was on the way. This was obviously a lie. We insisted to speak to the manager. She wanted to put us on hold, but we refused. By that point we knew that "on hold" meant that we would never speak to anyone. My friend eventually got the manager on the phone and asked for our ordered to be canceled. The manager had the audacity to ask if we preferred restaurant credit over a return to my credit card balance. My friend retorted with 'What makes you ever thank that I would eat at our restaurant again?" After three hours and thirty minutes (2:30 pm), we had not received our food, had been put on hold countless, times, been lied to countless times, and were left with empty stomachs and frayed nerves. Do not order from Zenna if you expect to ever receive your order. *********** Now, with all of this said, the corporate manager of all three Zenna location did call and leave me a voicemail message at 4:23 pm (in response to the message I sent through their website). I called her back and explained to her what happened. She apologized profusely and offered me a $20 credit at any Zenna location that I accepted. I will go back and dine at Zenna one more time, but will not return after that. There is no excuse (except if a zombie outbreak or nuclear bomb caused the location to be closed that Sunday morning) for what happened to us.

Wonderfull

By Dirk Jan |

We stumbled into this place with low expectations, due to the outside. We were fooled! Great place, nice ambiance, wonderfull food!

Mediocre food and service

By creativecrew |

I didn't realize this was a Chain when we selected it. Food seemed like chain, instead of individual, authentic Thai restaurant. The Tom Yo Kids coconut chicken soup was fine. My salmon was okay but colleague' sushi was not good. They drown it in the spicy mayo that was supposed to be drizzled. Instead it was totally overwhelming and buried the sushi. The waitress didn't handle it well. Another colleague's pad Thai was all noodles, with skimpy chicken and veggies. Hard to get the actress attention. Seems like nit enough staff for the size of the restaurant. Won't go back again.

Very reasonably priced Thai and Japanese

By leven4all |

We really liked the sashimi and the Pad Thai. Portions were generous and the price was right. The menu had a large selection of entrees.

Happy Hour Haven

By travelbird80 |

Loved the Happy Hour here! Went with grand kids, kids and spouse. Service was great, food was above average, and very affordable! Tom Yum soup was especially good!

To go

By Oklaho |

Food was tasty but not nontraditional Thai. I order to go and they chicken to my vegetarian order. After going back to my hotel my husband had to get on the phone and clarify the order although the receipt clearly said tofu and vegetables they added chicken. It took them almost an hour to bring the correct order to our hotel. The waitress took the right order but the Chef messed it up. This caused major delay in our bedtime and inconvenienced our vacation remission lead try to get them to just credit card and cancel the order but they refused to do that and insisted on filling the order at their time. This is bad customer service. Make sure if you're ordering a to go order check your food before you go home. What if I was not close to them and was 15 miles away will they still deliver probably not they must find out a way to cancel the order and credit our credit card

Good Options for Food Late Night - Service not so much

By Vallico |

Tried this spot last time I was in Dallas - the food is good and tasty but takes a little while to come out. The portions are good - and they also have sushi if you want to order. It is open late and it gets packed on the weekends. Make sure you come ready to wait if it is after 11PM. Overall a good spot for the area with tasty dishes

Great food and an excellent waiter!

By N3braska |

Drunken noodles with beef were excellent! Sake bombs were better. But our waiter - Nelson - was the best part. Had excellent suggestions and didnt disappoint. Hope to be back.

Great service

By Tamela S |

We stopped in after visiting the aquarium downtown. Our 5 year old granddaughter was with us and not happy about the food selection. Our waitress was very patient and helped us figure out noodles that she would eat. She told my granddaughter that of she ate the noodles she had a surprise for her. When we were finished eating she brought out a complimentary dish of ice cream and fried bananas with spoons for all! I would give 5 stars but my tempura vegetables were greasy and not very evenly battered. The rest of the food was fabulous.

Late Night Pick

By Devayani Supekar |

Being one of the only places open after hours, this place is usually a hot spot for late night food cravings. Taste is delicious but service is mediocre at best.

Most horrible service ever!!!!!

By jeromekung |

We were a party of 11 with 6 kids. We waited an hour for a table and after a hour our table finally opened up and was told that someone is setting it up. We had to wait another 20 mins because the hostess forgot the check the system to see that a table was already set up. Ridiculous!!!. No one cared to verify despite out questions. Worst ever place to bring your family. Stay AWAY!!!!!!

SUSHI

By Kim S |

My wife and I were in town for the Aerosmith concert. And there aren't any places close around us to eat sushi. We looked this place up and decided to give it a try. After parking and looking over at this place I thought it looked rough on the outside, so I checked the feedback and it looked promising so we went in. It was much better than I thought when we went inside. We ordered some tapa and sushi rolls. They were very good and the service was great also. When we are back in Dallas we'll stop again.

Nice Lunch

By edestrada2016 |

We had a nice late lunch with no wait to be seated. The wait was a little long once we were seated, but the food did come quickly. We had two different kinds of suchi rolls and drinks. Very inexpensive as tab was under $20 for the both of us with the tip included. Highly recommend.

Terrible

By annannwang |

Please don't waste your time here... the food is mediocre at best, my pad thai came out way too spicy even when I asked for mild, my boyfriend's noodle plate (pad see ew) came out lukewarm at best, and when I asked the waiter if my the crab was real, he pretty much said he would never eat it. (this was after he served me my roll. The crab meat had the consistency of runny mashed potatoes- needless to say I didn't even touch it. I left a pretty bad review on Yelp about a year ago when our awful dining experience happened, but I felt like I should share my experience. Please save your money and time and find an actual Thai restaurant that won't upcharge the menu simply because they are open later. It is nice that they are open until 3am, but if you choose to go late you'll be dealing with a crazier crowd. The only nice thing is that they deliver and they deliver late. So if it's late and you're hungry and lazy and don't mind paying a lot for mediocre Thai food, this is the place for you. Otherwise, take your money and spend it elsewhere. You won't regret it.

Good food offset by Rude service

By Jesus M |

After a day of craving Asian cuisine I was not disappointed by either the menu options or the food itself. There was tremendous variety and even a heat scale to aid in ordering. My choice was level four Thai garlic chicken. Also ordered some spring rolls with basil that were excellent. But, if you are expecting traditional spicy Thai food you will need to dose your dishes with chili paste or other from Zenna's tableside offerings. And then the there was the service. Or, lack of. My experience began with three disinterested staff at the hostess station. One helped me and after twice asking for a booth away from the bar she put me at the table just behind the hostess station. Figured after asking twice to sit away from the main door and bar with no recognition that I should just give up. My waiter showed up shortly, came back 15 minutes later with water and to take my order. The food came quickly but then my waiter was vapor for nearly an hour. Nobody else ever stopped at my table even with an empty water glass right at the front of the table. Upon reappearing the waiter apologized stating he was in the back cleaning and lost track of time. Getting my check was instant and while apologetic no attempt by the waiter was made to change my demeanor which was noticeably annoyed. The good news is I saved money on a tip. Figured the food was worth the $17 paid and nothing else.

Great happy hour experience!

By stlanghi |

Zenna offers the best happy hour value in the heart of Dallas. Friendly, efficient service, and excellent sushi, dumplings, and other Asian-style food, with great happy hour food and drink prices, make Zenna the logical choice. The location at the Dallas Akard Station transit stop make it the ideal stop at the end of the day.

Americanized Thai

By Chipperhigh2 |

Had dinner with friends at Zenna while staying in downtown Dallas. The service was good and we had a delightful young waiter named Phillip. The food was Ok, but not true Thai. It had been Americanized. More could be done as far as decorating. Happy hour prices are more than reasonable. Overall an OK place to eat.

Poor service

By branimir_2016 |

After having waited for more than 30 minutes my partner and I were finally seated. The food ordered was very good but unfortunately we left the place quite disappointed. Firstly, we waited for our meals way too long and than, the main course was served before the entrés. The waiter did not even apologize for such clumsiness. We were given no serviettes nor any kind of paper towel which is a necessity especially in an Asian restaurant. Apart from incredibly rude personnel, I must say that I have not seen such a dirty toilette in a long time.

Probably wouldn't go back

By ellisak77 |

Some food was below par, but some was really good. The dumplings were REALLY good. The sushi not so much. The sea bass was pitiful and hard. The sweet soy sauce is really sweet. If I could just eat the dumplings I'd be happy. HUGE PORTIONS, also.

Decent Thai in Dallas

By Duncrub |

Stopped here after a long day of work. Place was busy for a Tuesday night. Food was good not great as temperatures needed to be hotter. Squid salad was very good. Service was just okay. Prices reasonable. Only real negative was the decor and layout of the place. Also, the place just didn't seem that clean.

Great Happy Hour

By BagPackedWillTravel |

Always packed because they have an awesome happy hour. Cheap wine, drinks and beer. Great prices on sushi and appetizers. Not the highest quality of sushi, but willing to accept because it is one of the best happy hour deals in town.

Friends

By lAlexandra B |

Good location., good parking., nice and clean ., good service ., waiters could take a lilt tile more time with public relation not just serving in and out ., felt like a fast food place great display of sushi bar

dinner

By Sherkhan2016 |

Great ambience, and very good food. Enjoyed every morsel. Waiters are very attentive and friendly. It was a little too loud because we had gone there during happy hour and the guest were happy.

Great place in Dallas for Thai food - Delivers to Hotels

By Heartflight |

Had a great dinner here and enjoyed it so much that I even ordered to room at Hyatt Hotel Dallas. They deliver to front desk. Was recommended by concierge and he was right! Nice menu selection and great value for the buck! Tasty Thai food - great servings! And also has a great bar. Not far from Hyatt hotel so can walk too easily! I would definitely make that a dinner stop or room service again if in Dallas downtown area. Glad they added this restaurant to Trip Advisor as when I first went to review was not listed. So if you eat there, drop them your review and I hope you have the same excellent experience I had.

Food was so-so, service worse

By John F |

The service her was questionable at best. I watched my dinner sit on the sushi bar for so long I almost went and got it myself. Finally delivered, it tasted okay. But the rice had no taste at all. How is that possible?

Delicious Thai Foods

By BangkokSachse |

Our family went to Zenna restaurants in Downtown Dallas. It is near Dallas Aquarium. I ordered Thai flat noodle dish. The flat noodle was delicious. The waiters were nice and friendly.

Great Thai restraurant in downtown Dallas

By DallasBigD |

My wife & I have been to the Zenna Restraurant several times and have had great food & service. The restraurant is located next to the Dallas World Aquarium.

Great lunch deals

By BrussoDallas |

Zenna is right across from the Dallas Aquarium so it's an easy lunch spot downtown. If you are at the Perot Museum it would be a short walk from there too. We always walk but if you were driving I'm not 100% sure where you'd park. They have GREAT lunch deals, all of their lunch bento boxes are less than $10 and come with more than enough food. They have a wide selection of dishes so there's something for everyone.

Good Happy Hour specials

By Kholder3 |

Ordered my normal sushi items but it was nice to have those at Happy hour rates and their drinks prices were very affordable. I give it a 4 because they didn't have as many sushi items as what I have had a Sushi Zushi but this place was in great location to the downtown hotels because we could walk there.

Excellent Thai

By Caleb R |

My sister and I recently visited Zenna while traveling on vacation. Being somewhat of a food snob, I was skeptical of this unassuming building in downtown Dallas, but I'm pleased to report that I was oh so wrong. The dishes that both she and I had were extremely well prepared, and the service was great. I will be certain to visit again the next time I'm in town.

This is a bar that serves food - not a Thai restaurant

By Rustbelt |

Some Thai items on menu but not authentic recipes. Restroom not clean. Servers not attentive. Left as quickly as I could.

Delivery

By AllieRenee |

I've never actually eaten inside this place, but I've had the food delivered to work several times. Let me tell ya, this food is amazing! I've never been disappointed and always want to order it again! It's a workplace favorite.

Disappointing

By markmd |

We enjoy Asian and particularly Thai food and looked forward to eating in a well reviewed restaurant. The barbecued pork was dry and too salty, the chicken wings were in a spicy tamarind sauce which was not spicy and so sweet that I couldn't eat it. My wife's shrimp imperial rolls were somewhat tasteless and (unfortunately) served with the same peanut sauce that accompanied her tofu satay, something that the server might have cautioned us about. The tom ka gai, a very favorite soup of ours, was quite ordinary and only salvaged by the addition of a fair amount of red chili sauce. To her credit, our server did remove the chicken wings (I had eaten one) from our bill. Perhaps we didn't order correctly from the very extensive menu, but the described five items were most definitely below par.

We ate here twice in three nights, it was that good

By Dave T |

We were visiting Dallas from the UK and love Thai food. Zenna does not look like much from the outside, it is setbackbehind a parking lot next to the Dallas World Aquarium but once inside, the food and service are great. Loved this place

Great sushi!

By Lincoln M |

We went to Zenna the day before they moved to their new location. I'm glad that the old location was just across a parking lot from our hotel, so that we could just walk over. Service was a little iffy, but I think our server was new. Other than that, the food was fantastic. I highly recommend Zenna for sushi, primarily because the variety of choices is pretty large.

Very Good Value for Money

By KPfeff |

This restaurant is on Akard St. in downtown Dallas (just across from the DART rail stop). Many of the nearby restaurants are rather pricey (e.g. around the corner is a cupcake shop which sells cupcakes for $4 a piece). It's nice to have a reasonably-priced dining option in the area. For lunch, the bento boxes are very good value for money. I had one today which included a side salad (not great to be honest), soup (not very good either to be honest), edamame (good), two small crab rolls (good), and pad see ew (good but just a bit too much salt). You get a lot of food for the money ($7.99 before tax and tip). The servers are friendly too. You might have to wait a bit for your food, but that isn't atypical at busy times anywhere you go.

Fhis Place Could Not Have Been More Fun

By Terri S |

We had a birthday party for my daughter's 18th here. They could not have been nicer. They let me come early to decorate the table and held it for us decorated for 4 hours until we got there. Our service was great for a party of 8 people. We loved the food - best fried rice anyone at the table had ever had. But the nicest thing they did was totally unexpected. Just as we were getting ready for the birthday cake, there was furious drumming from the front of the restaurant. It got louder and louder until we saw what appeared to be two staff members in a Chinese dragon head and body with another guy on this cool traditional drum. The drummer played this awesome drum rhythm while the dragon danced all the way to our table and performed right next to us. It was awesome!!! We were all clapping and laughing along with the music. More fun than I can describe. I highly recommend this place. They went above and beyond to make a memorable birthday.

Bento Box good

By TheTravelingTwoo |

Athmosphere was nice, a little loud for conversation but nice. Bento box was a great treat, plenty of variety for a little $. Food was fresh and tasty.

Happy hour makes me HAPPY!!

By Sandra J |

LOVE Zenna! The location is larger and offers plenty of room. This is one of the few places that have an excellent happy hour that includes food as well as drink. We have tried almost everything on the happy hour menu!

Thai!!!

By Emily S |

This place is perfect for me! I crave Thai food all hours of the day and it's amazing that Zenna was open until 3 in the morning. When we went in the restaurant it was very busy and smokey, there were people rushing everywhere. However, wen we got our food, everything disappeared and we were sucked into the plates. This place is awesome. The manager also kept bringing us free beers because of all the rushing.

What a cool late night non traditional dinner

By Jay Stanaford |

A quick 3 min uber ride from the W Hotel. Came here hungry and on a whim, the food is alright, had nilgri and sushi rolls. Miso soup was good but different, not what your taste buds are used to. Every thing else is great, like most things are when you are drunk at 2am....

Nice place for Japanese and Thai cuisine.

By Arvind A |

We took our family members who were visiting to see downtown. For lunch we picked this place on Sunday. Very few places are open on Sundays in downtown. We enjoyed the Thai food here including the corn patties and drunken noodles. Nice bar and a huge place. Reasonable prices.

Excellent service and food

By tiguylesoiseaux |

The service was quick and great and the food was excelent for both the taste and quantity. The ambiance was cool, tge seat was comfy and romy, tge table cleaned. Getting the bill took no time..

Great happy hour

By Keylah887 |

The food was pretty good. We loved happy hour on both drinks and sushi. It is very nice inside not so much on the outside. I would have gave it 4 stars if it wasn't by our experience with the waiter. She was very inattentive. She looked like she didn't care to be there. Her name was Paula or something like. We didn't realize that her shift had ended until we saw that we had a new waiter being more attentive than she was. Her name was June and she was great! There was an error with our order and she went and fixed it right away. Over all it was a good experience. Best deal would be to go during happy hour.

Good Sushi and good value

By Topsailman |

This is a very good Sushi restuarant. The decor is attractive but not cozy or comfortable. The food is excellent with a large selection. The service was excellent and prices very reasonable. You will not be disappointed eating here

Fantastic Happy Hour!

By Sirenaenelmar |

Wow, those margaritas were loaded. They do not skimp on their drinks nor their food at this place. We ate and drank so much and it was all delicious!

Only wish I'd found it sooner

By naniboujou |

Found this place on my last day in town. That was the only sad news. Service was friendly, food awesome, atmosphere very cool and trendy.

Fast, friendly and great food

By Phil H |

I was staying at a hotel just across from the restaurant and ventured over for the evening meal (right next to the Dallas World Aquarium). The place was busy and good energy (not loud and crazy) and the service was fast and very polite and the food was great. Ended up eating there on three nights. The Thai green curry was hot and very well balanced on the first night. Second night the spring rolls and Tom-Yum Koong (chill soup) we equally delicious and the last night a mix of cold and hot tapas hit the spot. The place is open until 3am and seems like a fun local's place which is always a good sign to me. Recommend it for a fast, tasty and well priced meal.

Impossible to find and not willing to help

Food poisoning! Horrible!

By AleXfendeR |

One of the worst places I ever ate in. Got a food poisoning! And that after I had sent back the sushi dish that looked horrible! DON'T GO!!

I was impressed!

By leahalanis |

I was so impressed with the food here I went back twice in the same week. Their new location on Akard is very contemporary and modern, has good music and a large bar. Both times I had the lamb chops from the warm tapas menu and they were so tender and succulent. My only negative is that the menu states they are served over mashed potatoes and both times they were served over sticky rice. Not that big of a deal. My friends ordered the Pad See Ew with beef and it was really delicious. They make their own fat noodles in house and you can really tell the difference between them and packaged noodles. Other friend had the Thai lomein and it was good, too. I also ordered the Thom Ka Kai coconut soup with shrimp and it was perfection! Great use for the sticky rice from the lamb chops. The prices are reasonable, too, and our service both times was great. I'll definitely go back!

Great Food & Service

By Rebecca R |

We went for an early dinner. The food was great, our server made excellent recommendations and was very friendly. Made for the start of a lovely evening and we definitely be returning.

Going downhill

By Erika B |

I love writing positive reviews but unfortunately i cannot do that for one of my (used to be) favorite restaurants. We used to love Zenna, but lately they aren't the same. We usually get delivery twice a week but 8.5 out of 10 times the order is wrong and it ALWAYS takes an hour and a half to get it - we live 2.4 miles from zenna and order directly off the menu (no confusing changes to the food). Don't get me wrong, the food is great when it finally arrives (if it isn't cold or wrong). Just save the stress a eat there - that way when it's wrong, they can fix it.

The service was a joke

By Scott D |

This is the worst service I have experienced in a long time. Two gentlemen were at the front and couldn't be bothered, so I finally just walked over to the bar. Then it got worse. I finally walked out. There is no excuse. You are in the hospitality business.

Food.....yes

By Phillippe |

Service....not so much. Had Thai food, the Pad Kee Mow, drunken noodles with the spice level of 5. (Out of 5) Nice spice and good flavor. The food was good, but the service was less than stellar. Would likely give it one more shot, simply because the food was very good, but would be skeptical based on the service. This is a 4 based on the food, but if I had to rate based on service, it would only be a two.

Thai and Japenese food in one place

By RoadTrooper |

It is conveniently located cross the street and parking lot from SpringHill Suite, and opens late (till 2 or 3 am) when many other restaurants close at 9pm - if you arrive at hotel late this is very convenient. Large selection of Thai food, and sushi, making you want to come back to try other dishes.

This Sushi is high dollar

By b2bcome |

My 1st visit to Zenna was just a visit. It is your typical high dollar shuffle people in and out kind of place. The food was good, but a bit on the expensive side. Bathroom could be cleaner. It always makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like when the restrooms are not very clean. There were many birthday celebrations going on, so it was very loud. Dallas has so many restaurants with great food, so this really is not a place for the money I will be returning to.

Large amount of food for the $...I must visit in West End Dallas

By Robert P |

Stayed across the street, walked over and was definitely not disappointed. Staff was very friendly, fast service. Great happy hours 4-7pm with $.50 beers and $2 m-ritas. $1 sushi and great rolls, etc. Dinner menu is combo of sushi, Thai and misc items. Portions were very large, price on dinner menu was a great value...nice decor, will definitely return next time in Dallas.

Great Thai food and great prices

By Deborah O |

We had a nice meal and it was just across the street from our hotel. A bit off the beaten path so it was not as busy as other places at dinner time. Service was good and food was great. They have an interesting menu of Thai and Japanese (mostly sushi).

Zenna. A foody MUST while in Dallas

By KevinM611010 |

This is a trendy, hot spot for tasty Thai and Japanese. Check out several of their unbelievable happy hour specials from a special menu of favorites. I had the spring rolls and garlic beef........Oh, Baby. I had a couple of frosty beers served by a swift and friendly bartender and walked out for under $15.00 The place was packed with food and fun loving folks. A nice walk from the Omni and Convention Center and just down the block from the Adolphus. Food quality was superb and the service, even with the crowd was excellent. I will be back.....with a bigger appetite. Cheers!

Happy hour

By AyanaMap |

The happy hour at Zenna is pretty awesome. They have great prices on food and drinks. I've had better mixed drinks but the price paid compensated for the inconsistent quality of my drinks. I had no complaints about the food.

Needs more Thai variety - but good

By Tracy E |

This was one of the better Thai places I've found in Dallas (it's tough to find good Thai). This place has a combination of japanese and thai but could use a little more variety in the Thai area. The fresh spring rolls were very good. The entree was good - not great but only because of what I ordered (not a tomato sauce fan but ordered on a recommendation, should have ordered the peanut sauce). Even though it wasn't my favorite, it was still quite good. I wouldn't recommend the coconut martini but it's a decent place to sit outside (though the view sucks)

Not so Fabuloso

By CarryonBag78 |

I have tried eating lunch at Zenna a few times. The last time, I left before ever getting a table. When you walk in the door, the place reeks of cheap Fabuloso cleaner. (Why are they cleaning so close to the lunch rush?) Whether or not they are busy, we have always had to wait for a table, despite many of them being unoccupied. On the occasions I stayed, the food was good. However, again the service was horrible. During my final visit, I noted numerous other people waiting, while the two hostesses were standing behind the hostess stand with cell phones pressed to their ears. They have a patio which was totally unoccupied on a pleasant sunny day. (No surprise, they'd never get waited on out there, let alone get seated.) This place has SERIOUS problems accommodating its lunch hour patrons. I give up.

Look past the appearance...

By thesteck |

A true case of substance over style! Wonderful food, attentive service! Try the lamb chops - divine! I am never one to rave about something, but let me tell you: I will be back for this one next time!!

You can't beat their Happy Hour!

By a1davis |

The only thing negative I can say about Zenna is that it's too far from my house! They have one of the best Happy Hours in town. Their sushi is delicious and the atmosphere is quite fun. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but worth the effort.

Food - good, service - poor

By Joel R |

Went with 8 friends. Seated right away but waited for 10 minutes before even getting water and that's because I flagged a waiter down serving another table. The water server/ busboy understood no English, so we never got refills nor additional drink orders. Did was good, peirce was good but waitress didn't check in us once food was delivered until she brought the bill.

Happy hour was worth it!

By pb1972 |

stopped by after visiting museums, great prices for drinks, had California roll which was very good, people watching on the deck was entertaining - wait staff friendly. Almost stayed for dinner since the other patron's meals looked so good, but wanted to wander around more.

Surprisingly good

By SirisManila |

Visited last May 18, 2013. We were in town for a convention and this was a convenient and safe choice for our first meal in Dallas. We wanted to have some rice and we got our fix. The other reviews were correct in saying that the restaurant did not look like anything from the outside. But when you walk in, the interiors are nice and there were a lot of people eating. We tried the shrimp basil rice and the pork garlic ribs to share between two people. This was alright and the bill was just around $20 with tip. There are a lot more choices plus a happy hour. We might go back before we leave town to try it out.

Great variety at a reasonable price

By Mamiya7 |

I ate here once for dinner and once for lunch on my recent trip to Dallas. The easiest way to get there is take the orange or red tram line to Akard Street. It is visible from the tram. I had two different suishi assortments. There was a steamed basil roll in a steamed rice wrapper that was quite good. I had the lettuce wraps too that were good with the peanut sauce. My associate ordered her chicken noodle dish at the third level of spicy just under adventurous, but it wasn't all that spicy. Two of us got out of there for about $50 excluding tip. Note that the lunch and dinner menus do differ. There are more appetizer options on the dinner menu. At night, you may have to wait and the noise level can be rather high at busy times.

Great for late night delivery

By jmbrownrn |

I work at a hospital and we order from these guys all the time. Literally everything is good. The drunken noodles are amazing. They will also deliver Thai iced tea.

Great curry dishes

By traveltot11 |

We go to Dallas on a regular basis for sporting events and we found this little place before a game one night. Fantastic food, especially the curry dishes. Try the Pineapple Curry...awesome! I dream about the curry here. Great happy hour from 4-7 every day. Cheap drink prices, sushi and tapas. Zenna is close to a number of hotels, next to the aquarium and a block away from The West End. We park in the lot next to the restaurant and walk to the American Airlines Center for Mavericks and Stars games. Check this place out!!!

Too Good

By alley_lime |

If you love sushi and cheap drinks this is the place to be. The waitstaff is on the younger side so they are really friendly and they know the menu right off top. The sushi is so amazing and it is fairly cheap! Also drink prices are very reasonable and the Saki bombs are to die for. Great place to go, very beautiful inside and out, great location. I absolutely love it here!

Good Happy Hour

By Naccona |

Overall our experience was pretty ok. We were surprised their happy hour lasted so long until 7pm. Plenty of drinks, tapas & sushi rolls to choose from on the list. First hiccup was they were out of the frozen margaritas we ordered, told us they could do one on the rocks but it would be $2 more. Then they were also out of the yellow fish sushi that my husband ordered. We ordered two drinks, 2 tapas to share & 4 rolls. Received our drinks in a timely fashion but then they brought out our sushi (our entree) before we received our appetizers. The guy who brought it out was not our waiter. We started eating our sushi trying to pace ourselves slowly so we would have room for the appetizers when (and if) they arrived. Finally our waiter, who had done a great job up to this point otherwise and was very friendly came by and we let him know. Eventually he brought them out and did apologize. From that point on it was fine...appetizers (basil chicken wraps & calamari) were good. We had the Philly rolls (ordered 2), spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempera rolls. Smaller rolls, which we were fine with. The rolls were decent but we have had better. Everything we ordered was on the happy hour menu and for all of it we spent $30, not too shabby and we were pleased. Will return if and when we are back in the area.

Amazing late night eatery

By ChackoJ23 |

Went to Zenna based on a few of my friends telling me it's a great place to eat. Enjoyed everything I ordered. The yellow curry chicken and drunken noodles were very tasty and the price wasn't even that high. Would go there again, didn't feel gross the next morning either with some other places I've been after dark.

wow!

By cathy g |

Chose this restaurant at random, since I like Thai food and it was within walking distance of the Sheraton Downtown. We ordered a flaming volcano drink and it was huge! It's served in a big bowl. It tasted like a hurricane. The restaurant is nice, service was good and food was very tasty. The prices are pretty reasonable too. Highly recommended!

Okay wish they were more sensitive to those with shellfish allergies

By Unique G |

Unfortunately, due to my fiance shellfish allergy and the fact that a lot of their dishes being made with oyster oil, we settled for their spring rolls which were good and reasonable. I feel that they should probably be more open to using other oils to cook their dishes especially for those that have shellfish allergies.

Restaurant...or Cover Operation?

By Randy B |

I ventured today to Zenna Thai & Japanese, which I strongly suspect to be a front for some illicit back-office enterprise. This "restaurant" occupies the vast ground floor of an uninviting building, in a slice of downtown Dallas rendered particularly inaccessible by traffic engineers on crack. Few diners seem to notice that it is there. The seating hostess eyed me suspiciously and asked why I was there. She accepted my explanation that I had come to eat, but her suspicion seemed to increase when I asked for a seat outside, this being a pleasant day. It took awhile before my "server" appeared, and I suspect that he, like the Asian girl waiting on a nearby table, are not waiters at all, but brilliant young computer-hacker nerds forced to throw on aprons, emerge from their back room, and act the part of waitstaff when anyone ventures in for an actual meal. My guy's eyes widened when I asked for a beer, as though he'd never fielded such a request before, and his jaw dropped when I went so far as to request a Chinese beer. Nevertheless, in due course he fulfilled my request. Throughout my lunch, numerous fruit flies were my faithful companions, making me wonder if vast quantities of overripe bananas were being stored in the back room with the computer hackers. I finished quickly and hurried away, feeling that at any moment Jack Bauer might jump from a passing vehicle and start shooting the place up. This restaurant, by the way, is not located on Laws Street - wherever that is, even though the receipt shows that address. It is on the corner of Pacific & Akard. One more very suspicious fact.

Food great but service lacking

By Michelle F |

One of my favorite places to eat in Dallas is Zenna. This was my first time to the downtown location. It has a great atmosphere with outdoor seating available. Has happy hour drinks every night with decent drink options. Food was amazing as always but our service was lacking. Once our food came didn't come back and check on us for over 15 minutes. We ordered Mango Sticky Rice and took 20 minutes to make. When we asked for our check took another 10 minutes to get it. The restaurant wasn't that busy either.

Good food bad service

By FNA009 |

Food was not bad! Service on the other hand was pretty bad!! We got a young girl who I thought would be energetic and happy but she was so bitter and no smile nothing! We had green curry and after I ordered I looked at the menu and realized she didn't ask us what kind of spicy we would like it Then when I asked for a fork she made a face! Really it's not that hard!!!

Late Dinner

By GTBoston |

Reasonably priced meal. Fresh. Authentic cuisine. Waiter was professional. Great place for late night dinner in West End.

Average food, reasonable prices, good service

By TxGrayNet |

Zenna is a very "club-esque" type of restaurant with lots of electronica music playing in the background. The food was typical fare of sushi, appetizers, Thai noodle dishes, and some curries. The Man Friend and I order 4 appetizers (steamed gyoza, seaweed salad, yakatori chicken, & assorted tempura) and three sushi rolls (spicy tuna, crunchy, & lizard). The rolls were rather small (but I have braces right now, so that was actually 100% fine because I didn't have to cut them in half in order to eat them), but the entire meal was reasonably priced. We had a great server and busser who made sure our drinks were always filled and brought our food out in a timely manner. It was a Friday evening, so we expected that they would be busy, but we never had any issues. That being said, the hostesses seemed a little more interested in talking with each other than helping customers get seated. We frequent Dallas often enough and while this place was good, it definitely isn't the best sushi I've ever had. Still, it was reasonably priced and we weren't hungry when we left.

Happy Hour - Happy Wallet

By IndianaMattC |

Happy Hour is 4-7 everyday. 1 dollar sushi, 50cent beer. The service was excellent, our group of 15 showed up 15 minutes before the end of happy hour and our servers broke up the check and got our orders in and delivered quickly. Don't let the outside fool you.

Great Happy Hour

By Doug P |

This is one of the best happy hour places in Dallas. Great food and drink prices are the lowest. You can get sake bombs for $4.50.
