Zutro is located in Le Meridien hotel, easily accessible on the first floor from the street. Free valet parking. The bar has some nice cocktails - Aperol Spritz, anyone! - and the restaurant has a definite southern American focus, but in a good way: gumbo, redfish, shrimp and grits, etc. served in an upscale way, with a decent selection of wines to choose from. Worth a visit.

The staff was fun and friendly. Service was pleasant. Food quality was good. Price for breakfast seemed a little high ($68 for 2) but since it was covered by my elite benefit I didn't mind. Would go back again.

Charles and Barri were absolutely AMAZING along with the rest of the staff! The customer service from the time my group and I walked in the door was immaculate! I will definitely be back! This was probably the best place that I have been to in Houston! 10 out of 10

Quick service, reasonable pricing, 10% off the food if you stayed in the hotel. Food nice and the wine was good.

We arrived at the le Meridien Houston after a day of travelling. Where else would we eat, we went downstairs to Zutro. The service was very good, making us to be at our easy. What to eat, good question, we took the easy path. We both ordered the hamburger. It proved to be an good decision, it was excellent. The accompanying fries were however not hot, this made us consume them faster, still the meal was enjoyable. Perhaps we should have returned the for a new batch. The menu is much more than burgers, more good food to enjoy.

We went to Zūtro before the theater. And we were left with desires to return. The food was phenomenal, the service was fantastic. We had the Burnt Ends for appetizer - and WOW - it is served with Bib lettuce, carrots, cucumber and pickled onions - you MUST make a lettuce wrap to appreciate the flavor profile. Next we had the Fried Oyster Cesar. Yum - delicious. And the Onion and Tomato Salad - this was very flavorful with a variety of tomatoes as well as a hearty portion of Burrata. For Mains we had the Aged Short Rib with a House made Tagliatelle ricotta salata and horseradish. This dish was a flavorful explosion! Tender and full of flavor- I recommend it completely without reservation. We also had the Smoked Brisket - wow. Amazing and delicious. Lentils were perfectly cooked the meat was perfectly tender. The staff was lovely and attentive. The manager recommended that we make the lettuce wraps out of the appetizer and it was spot on - had that not occurred it would have been a salad after the port belly was already devoured. Making the lettuce wraps allowed the flavor profile to come together and we would have missed it completely. Do this - I promise is it worth it - Chef knows what he has created. Check our Zūtro ! Worth it !

We had a magnificent dinner with friends. Five courses with pairings and everything was fantastic. It was so nice to enjoy a creative meal in a nice setting by the window, and the food was original and out of this world. You should give this one a try! Chef is excellent.

Very nice and cozy restaurant nestled in Le Meridien Hotel in downtown Houston. Food and wine are very good, they have a full bar (very important for my hubby). Service is always excellent and that is truly important, you can have a good meal but if the service is bad there goes your dinner. We dine at Zutro every time we are going to the Houston Symphony, they are very conveniently located and we really like the place.

I had a short one night stay for business at the Le Meridien, and ate at Zutro for both dinner as well as breakfast the morning of checkout. The staff was very accommodating, and the food was better than expected. I suggest checking them out if you are staying nearby.

The service and hospitality was 10/10. Charles and Barrie were amazing they came and converse with the table and have complementary drinks and dessert. The chef even came out to check on our meals. Highly recommend will be coming back. The rooftop was even better.

I don’t even when give them 1 star!! A HORRIBLE customer service!! It was the worst experience ever!! I called them 3 different times to make sure that ID isn’t required upon entry, told them I have a party and wanna reserve a table and even called before going to make sure it’s reserved. And when we showed up at the place they made a problem and didn’t wanna let us in bc 1 girl was only 20 and the rest of the group were allowed to enter! So it’s either to change the place in such a hectic night or stay without our friend! The supervisor was helpful but then the manager came and changed the deal. She was super unhelpful, provoking, annoying, and mean. Even when we were running out of time and just had to go to the restaurant downstairs. The host and the manager were just RUDE. Ohh, and there was a policy which let minors enter before 7 but no later!! An entry curfew at the bar!! Our server was the only good thing in the place!

Very good quality food, super good atmosphere and food at an affordable price, their waitresses are friendly and good vibes

We went on a Thursday night at 8pm. The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is upscale. They accommodated my wife's no black pepper policy with graciousness. No complaints on that delicious food!!! It was artfully plated and tasted even better. The waitress was a surly type though. Definitely could use more training on being pleasant. She could use a uniform update. She made us wait a super long time for our check too. I attribute it to an off night. We've all been there. Give this place a go.

Arrived late at the hotel, so I tried the restaurant zutro meridiiens hotel restaurant, nice surprise. Very reasonable prices and delicious food

Had a 6:15 reservation for dinner prior to an 8pm show at Minute Maid. Seated us at 6:20, then took almost 20 minutes after sitting for them to take drink order, then at least another 15 to bring 5 of them (the 6th didn’t show up until much later). Told them when drinks arrived we were ready to order, but server never came back, someone from our table had to go remind them. It was almost 7 by the time someone took our food order, which didn’t arrive until almost 7:30. We then had to basically eat at warp speed to try to get to stadium by 8. Thankfully the show was 30 minutes late starting. Food was OK but nothing special. Two of the six in our party were never brought water. Server was barely apologetic about the wait. Will not be returning. Definitely not a place to go if you are on a time schedule.

Hosted a company cocktail hour at Zutro and they were 1- very easy to work with ahead of time, 2- had incredible service (with stylishly dressed servers who looked like they enjoyed their jobs), 3-served very delicious food and drinks, and 4- made it so easy for us. Would recommend it any time you are in town!

We stopped in for breakfast and enjoyed every entree we had. My son had the Belgian waffle, I had 2 egg breakfast, my husband had a poached egg bowl. Every thing was great.
Incredible views and incredible service!
My friend and I went to Z on 23 to start our evening or what I would call the beginning of my birthday week. Z on 23 offers incredible views of downtown Houston. It is a fun and happening place. After having some cocktails, we had dinner in Zutro. The employees were very attentive. Nicole, greeted us and we were treated with VIP service. The food was incredible, we started with the brussel sprouts and shrimp tempura. Joseph had the brisket and I elected to try the ribeye. Both we're excellent! The portions are generous. We finished the night with a decadent chocolate mousse. I highly recommend Zutro.
