Dongzha Shopping

Wuzhen's commercial district is centered around the Central Market. Each of the four gates (east, south, west, and north) forms a distinct system, each with its own core, forming a relatively well-developed commercial network. For example, the heart of East Gate is Caishen Bay, home to the town's largest aquatic product distribution center. Xu Hengyu's East and West stores, Wuzhen's largest wholesale and retail chains, are also located here. And a must-see is the "Lin Family Shop" (located at the end of Xinghua Bridge on Guanqian Street, across from Mao Dun's former residence), described in Mao Dun's writings. Although it's now a specialty store, it's next to Jinhezhai, a shop selling goods from both northern and southern China.

Xizha Shopping

Xizha boasts Xuchang Sauce Factory and Hengyitang Pharmacy. With over a century of history, Xuchang Sauce Factory, a shop in front and shop in the back, produces and sells its own fermented broad bean paste, soy sauce, and pickles. On the south side of Xishi River in Xizha (across the bridge from Xizha Street) and the westernmost bar street, you'll find numerous specialty shops selling handicrafts, wood carvings, weavings, silk fabrics, jewelry, tile paintings, pyrography, and more. At night, illuminated by the lights of Xishi River, these shops are dazzling and captivating.
