Impression Putuo, the sixth large-scale live performance in the Impression series, was artistically consulted by renowned director Zhang Yimou and directed by renowned directors Wang Chaoge and Fan Yue. The production took two years and hundreds of meticulous revisions to complete. Impression Putuo was located at the former Guanyin Cultural Park in Zhujiajian. Historically, Zhujiajian was the site of a temple on Putuo Mountain and a vital part of the Guanyin monastery. Legend has it that Guanyin Bodhisattva leaped from Fodu Island to Putuo Mountain, and a large footprint still remains on the mountaintop, perfectly complementing the mountain. The Impression Putuo Theater is currently located in one of Zhujiajian's most important scenic spots. Atop a 114.9-meter-tall cliff, a large, 69-meter-tall, 2,000-square-meter standing Guanyin mural stands. This performance will allow audiences to witness this "Mogao Grottoes on the Sea."
