For those traveling by bus or on foot, Shenjiamen is recommended. Located in Putuo District, Shenjiamen is a long coastal strip, bordered by the sea in front and mountains in the back. It's also close to docks and bridges leading to various scenic spots. It's also a renowned fishing port in Zhoushan, where night food stalls offer a year-round selection of delicious seafood. However, the downside is the limited land area, high housing prices, and expensive dining options. Numerous guesthouses and hotels are located along Bingang Road, Donghai East Road, and Tongji Road in Shenjiamen, with peak season prices ranging from 180 to 500 yuan per night.

It's very convenient to drive, close to Kaihong Square and Guanyin Bridge, making it easy to get to Zhujiajian. It's a 10-minute drive to Wugongshi Pier. The hotel service is very good and clean, and it's quite close to Auchan, about an 8-minute walk away.

Dinghai, formerly the city center, boasts a vibrant cultural atmosphere. Budget hotels generally cost around 200 RMB, making it cheaper than Shenjiamen and slightly more expensive than Donggang. The area also boasts iconic attractions like Sanmao's Former Residence, Dongsha Ancient Town, and Phoenix Island. Hotels like Xilai Seaview are conveniently located, with seafood stalls at the pier just downstairs and the Seaside Park just a short walk away. Driving to Shenjiamen takes 20-30 minutes.
Although the hotel is an old hotel built in 2009, it has good facilities and is clean. The breakfast is commendable. Transportation is convenient, and it is next to the distribution center to Shanghai. There is a food court nearby with many small restaurants.

Lincheng New District is located between the two major urban areas of Dinghai and Putuo, so it can also be used as an alternative accommodation option during the peak season. However, there are not many hotels in Lincheng, which is more convenient for tourists traveling by car.
A nice hotel in Zhoushan, a bit deserted and not too close to the ferry port, so it's only suitable for self-driving. The swimming pool is nice, the rooms are large, and it's not new, but the service is good.

Besides accommodations on Zhoushan Island, those visiting Zhoushan's outlying islands, such as Dongji Island, Putuo Mountain, Zhujiajian, Taohua Island, and the Shengsi Islands, generally choose to stay overnight. These lodges often offer integrated accommodation and meals, and many of the better ones can even book return ferry tickets and take you on fishing trips. Off-season rates range from 150 to 300 yuan, and are more expensive on weekends and holidays, sometimes even double that. Therefore, be sure to book a room in time and be prepared.
Rooms and ferry tickets are limited, so reservations are essential. Miaozihu Village is the most prosperous area in Dongji Island Town, home to the largest number of hotels and guesthouses, approximately 40. Larger options include the Zhoudongji Island Shimatou Hotel and the Zhoudongji Haizhiyuan Hotel. These guesthouses offer similar amenities to two-star hotels on the mainland: small and simple, they do offer air conditioning, private bathrooms, and televisions. High-end accommodations are virtually nonexistent on the island.
Putuoshan has the most complete accommodation among the small islands. It not only has five-star hotels, such as Radisson Putuoshan Hotel and Xiangsheng Hotel, but also friendly fishing houses.
Most fishing resorts in Zhujiajian, Putuo District, are concentrated around the Nansha and Wushitang scenic areas, as well as the Donghe Jiayuan residential complex in Dongsha Village, Zhujiajian Subdistrict. In certain seasons, you can even rent a tent and sleep on the beach. Accommodation prices during peak season generally range from 200 to 400 yuan, but can increase by at least one-third during holidays and weekends.
Most of the accommodation in Shengsi is concentrated in Caiyuan Town and Donghai Fishing Village on the main island of Sijiao. There are also some simple accommodations on Shengsi's outlying islands such as Shengshan Island and Gouqi Island.
Accommodation on Taohua Island is primarily concentrated in Gongqian Street and the Jinsha Scenic Area in Tawan Village, with prices ranging from approximately 150 to 350 yuan. Prices vary widely, with a double room in a decent hotel with a bathroom, hot water, TV, and air conditioning all available for 50 yuan per person during the off-season. Prices increase significantly during holidays, with the most significant increases occurring during summer vacation, when a room can cost over 400 yuan per night.
