Yalong Bay is well known to the world. Haitang Bay has also become a well-known player recently. Dadonghai and Sanya Bay are even more established predecessors. However, this small bay tightly holding one end of Haitang Bay has the same name as a small piece of water in Beijing 3,000 kilometers away - Houhai, also known as Houhai Cape or Queen's Bay. It is located in Haitang Bay in the eastern suburbs of Sanya City, 35 kilometers west of Sanya City, and shares the same sea area with Wuzhizhou Island. The pier to Wuzhizhou is only 10 minutes away from this sea, on foot. It is worth mentioning that the location of the first ray of sunshine in the millennium broadcasted by CCTV in 2000 was here.

From Queen's Bay to Wuzhizhou Pier, you only need to walk through the village in a few minutes.

Houhai is actually a small fishing village called "Tenghai Village", next to the Wuzhizhou Island Scenic Area's island dock. The seaside of Houhai Village is the end of Haitang Bay, or vice versa. It is a natural bay with shallow and clear water. A low Houhai Ridge divides it into South Bay and North Bay. Standing on the Houhai Cape, you can look around the entire sea. In this Houhai, most of the time, there are only the sounds of tides, waves and sea breeze, quiet and peaceful, free and easy.

The various sports clubs scattered in the small fishing village have become a major feature of Houhai Village. You can find suitable places for sailing, surfing, diving and snorkeling here.

Houhai Village is much more beautiful at night than during the day. What you see during the day is still somewhat messy, especially in many places in the village where roads and houses are still being built. But the fishing village at night is different. The lights of the shops on both sides of the main street are lit up one after another, accompanied by the sizzling sound of barbecue and the smell of smoke. The whole village is rejuvenated with another kind of vitality. People come and go on the street, pedestrians shuttle through it, choose a food stall, order skewers, open a few bottles of "Little Hainan", and the smell of fireworks in the world is immediately so strong that it cannot be dissolved.

Transportation: Take bus No. 28 or No. 1 Haitang Bay in downtown Sanya and get off at Wuzhizhou Island Station. You can walk to the destination. If you drive, you can use the navigation to Wuzhizhou Pier. It takes about 40-60 minutes to drive from the city on the highway. Didi Express costs 150-200 yuan to get here.

Parking is not allowed in the village, and parking is concentrated in the public parking lot opposite the pier. One is a free temporary parking lot with many parking spaces, dusty, unattended, and stone piles; next to it is the "ecological parking lot", I don't quite understand what the name means, but the environment is good, the parking fee is not expensive, and the maximum is 10 yuan for 24 hours. These two parking lots are far away, which is very inconvenient for tourists who need to stay overnight in the village, so according to my experience, you can turn in the direction indicated by the arrow in the picture, and there are still many "natural" parking spaces on both sides of the street.

Accommodation: Walk into the village from the main street and turn into the alley next to the primary school. The row of B&Bs near the sea all have nice sea-view rooms, and they are not lacking in design or distinctive features. The price is up to you. The mid-range price without sea view is 200-300. It is better to book a sea view room as early as possible, after all, the number is quite limited.

By Minhua loves to eat and play |

It was already afternoon when we left Wuzhizhou Island and took a boat back to Wuzhizhou Island Pier. I suddenly wanted to have afternoon tea, so I decided to take a walk in Houhai Village next to Wuzhizhou Island Pier and see if there was anything delicious to eat.

Houhai Village was originally a quiet and simple fishing village. However, with the development of Sanya's tourism industry, more and more villagers have transformed their homes into B&Bs, so when you walk in Houhai Village, you can see a scene of large-scale construction.

YOOOOO You Dessert is a well-known restaurant in Houhai Village, specializing in various Hong Kong-style desserts and simple meals.

I originally planned to order some coconut jelly and some cool soup to moisten my body, but I accidentally noticed two foreigners were also dining there. The fried food they ordered seemed to look good, so I decided to follow their lead.

The coconut jelly is indeed made from real ingredients and you can see and eat it. It has a strong coconut flavor and is smooth in the mouth, with just the right sweetness.

Flying fish rice is said to be the most distinctive signature dish. Every part of the fish is fried crispy and delicious, and dipped in the special hot and sour sauce, it is very appetizing.

I finally got to eat the coconut rice I had been craving for. It had a soft and sticky texture, but the coconut flavor was not as strong as Thai mango sticky rice. The slight sweet coconut flavor seeped out slowly as I chewed more.

After eating, I patted my stomach with satisfaction and bought some dried coconut and coconut candy from the specialty shop to take home.

Strolling through Houhai Village, you can smell the salty smell of sea water and the sweet taste of coconut jelly.

Houhai Village maintains its traditional culture, with the smell of sea breeze under the coconut trees, facing the sea, and the development of surfing 🏄‍♀️ and the interpretation of surfing 🏄 culture.

Practical Information FYI

It is recommended to arrange a good day

🚌Public transportation: Take bus No. 33 or Airport Bus Dadonghai Line from Sanya Phoenix Airport, (Route 33) to Yalong Bay Railway Station Bus Station, (Airport Bus Dadonghai Line) to Dadonghai Square Station, and transfer to bus No. 28 to Houhai Village Station

I went to Houhai twice, but the time was too short. I want to go a third time. I like this quiet little village very much. I want to stay here for a while, surfing, sailing... I feel that time will slow down here. The only drawback is that the food is average, and there are only a few good ones.

http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/20670085.html From my travel notes "❤️Summer is here, write poetry on the seaside❤️The most tranquil small-group tour in Sanya (Houhai Queen's Bay, Wuzhizhou Island, Phoenix Island, West Island)"

Remember this: China's surfing paradise - Sanya Houhai Queen's Bay. The wind is good, the waves are good, and the water quality is good. It is dozens of meters into the sea, and the water is just waist-deep. It is a paradise for beginners. Every year, surfing enthusiasts from all over the world come here, from beginners to top masters. What everyone has in common is that they love this sea.

Leaving our beloved Wuzhizhou Island, walking out of the pier and a few hundred meters away, you will reach Houhai Queen's Bay. It is located next to the flat and open beach, and it is very convenient for eating and staying.

Price: 2-hour surfing course, 400 yuan/person. One instructor leads two people.

School: There are many surfing schools with B&Bs on the shore. Each B&B can be booked, and you can also search and book in advance on China-TravelNote.

Onshore teaching: 10 minutes, first learn the basic movements on the beach or hotel terrace, introduce the structure and use of the surfboard, the postures of lying on the board, standing on the board, how to listen to instructions, etc.

Go surfing: The coach will teach you how to read the waves, push the board the moment the wave comes, and remind you when to stand up, how to improve your movements, etc.

Facilities and services: The surfing school provides mineral water, has lockers for bags, changing rooms, and fresh water showers. Although the facilities are complete, it is more recommended to stay by the sea so that you can go downstairs to surf.

Reservation: You need to make an appointment at least one day in advance to arrange a coach. If the time changes, you need to inform one day in advance.

Color: Choose a colorful surfboard that matches your clothes for better photos.

Sun protection: It is recommended to wear a special surfing long-sleeved top to avoid sunburn; sun protection mud is recommended. It is made of pure natural ingredients and is environmentally friendly. Most surfing schools will provide it.

Houhai Village should be the most suitable place for beginners to learn surfing in Hainan, but don't think that there are waves 365 days a year, and only the waves in winter are the best. It is recommended to find an experienced coach to learn surfing, with at least 3 years of teaching experience. I recommend experienced coaches from nanuna, 亼乐, and 蓝夫. 亼乐 is relatively expensive. There are several guesthouses that operate sailboats and yachts at the same time, and you can also go out to sea. Nanuna also has experienced national diving coaches to teach.

Next to it is the Wuzhizhou Scenic Area. Most of the ancestors of Houhai Village are fishermen who drifted from the coastal areas of the mainland, mostly from Zhanjiang and Maoming, so most of them can speak Western Guangdong Cantonese (or Tanka dialect). As a Guangzhou native, there is no barrier to communicate with the villagers in Cantonese here. There is a fisherman's seafood noodle restaurant in the whole village that is super good, right next to the village clinic!

There are many inns, shops, food and entertainment in the small fishing village. There is also a small port where you can buy seafood from fishermen and process it yourself.

The sea water was terrible, very dirty, and there were dead pigs floating in it. After swimming, I had lumps all over my body, and they were very itchy. This didn't happen when I went swimming in other seas.

By China-TravelNote users |

I saw on the internet that you can surf, so I came here to try it. The waves are very small, and it's hard to surf without someone to push you from behind. The board costs 100 yuan a day, which is not expensive. The overall price of this village is not high, but the parking lot is too far from the village.

By Seven Seven |

If you bring children, you'd better not come to Houhai Village. The village is rather dirty and messy. Villagers told you not to bring children to the beach because it is "unclean". Many children have drowned there because tourists don't understand the terrain and the water conditions. Local villagers said it was the sea water that could eat people. I was scared and I didn't go to the beach. I think Houhai Village is more suitable for college students to travel on a budget and it's not really a tourist attraction.

By Big Bad Wolf |

It is also called Tenghai Fishing Village Houhai. It is in harmony with Wuzhizhou Island in the north. The dock for Wuzhizhou Island is located here.

By Qnzgn084 |

This Houhai is not the Houhai in Beijing, but the most popular Houhai fishing village. It is a quiet and unique fishing village, sharing the same sea area with Wuzhizhou Island. The sea water is crystal clear, but the price is several times lower.

Every Spring Festival I would come to Houhai Village to sit in a quiet daze.

By China-TravelNote user 51762573 |

It's just so-so. Just keep going forward from Wuzhizhou Wharf. The village is undergoing large-scale renovation. You can see the beach by walking along the village road to the police station, but the water in the fishing port is very dirty and full of mud. You have to walk along the beach for a while to see the clean beach. However, there are many reefs on the beach, which is not suitable for swimming. You can snorkel and see the rocks on the seabed. I didn't see anyone surfing. I feel that surfing on the reefs is very dangerous. I only saw a few villagers fishing. It's better to go to Yalong Bay when you are here. It's not recommended.

From Shuicheng to Houhai, we drove almost straight along Haitang Road. As we were getting close to the destination, traffic jams started to appear because it was close to the boarding pier of Wuzhizhou Island, and there were a lot of tourists and tour groups. We simply parked the car in the parking lot of the pier and walked to the beach of Houhai.

Houhai Village is also called Tenghai Village. Although it seemed that every household was being newly built or repaired when we went there, and the roads were full of potholes and various building materials, it gave people a relatively primitive feeling overall. The water quality is also good, and you can catch super large corals on the beach. A group of young fishermen were collecting nets, and the children were happily playing with several colorful clown fish and sharing the stories of the fish with us.

By Don't take diving as your life |

Diving and surfing are the holy lands for enthusiasts. Diving requires good water quality and it is best to start in the morning. The underwater corals and fish will make you feel in awe of nature. It is the best beach for surfing beginners in China.

Houhai Village is close to Wuzhizhou Island and is very close to the Wuzhizhou Pier. It is still the off-season, so there are not many people queuing at the pier. Of course, we did not join in the fun, but just wandered around a small pier next to it.

There are many small fishing boats here. Fishermen go fishing in the coastal waters on these boats. There are many fishing nets on the boats, but there are no people. The sun rises to the middle of the sky, and it is time for the fishermen to go home and rest.

Few people come here to take pictures. The side next to it is the pier for Wuzhizhou Island, so it is very busy with people coming and going.

But this place is actually more suitable for photo shooting, it is very beautiful.

By Rachel Rachel |

Houhai is the number one surfing destination in Sanya, with many surfers. But the village is under repair, so the road is not very clean.

By Smile like a spring flower |

Wuzhizhou Island was too expensive, so we chose Houhai Village as a second choice. It is right next to Wuzhizhou Island. Maybe most people go to the island, so there are fewer people in the village. Houhai Village is really beautiful, the water is very clear, and the people are very simple.

This is the current name, Tenghai Fishing Village. Maybe the name of Houhai Village is too famous, and you can still find it by searching for Houhai Village.

The sand is not very soft, but the sea water is very clear. There are many fishing boats on the sea. It should be the rest period now, and the fishermen have not gone out to sea.

Houhai Village Ronin...

Shui Duoduo: Let me introduce myself! Hello, my name is "He Xijiang" and my nickname is "Shui Duoduo" now. It was given to me by a wanderer.

Lang: There is indeed a lot of water, just call me a playboy,

Shui Duoduo: Why are you here, how long have you been here, what are you doing here, etc.....

Lang: Buddy, you have a lot of questions. I can simply summarize it in one word: Lang!

Shui Duoduo: My friend's language is simple and insightful, and it really expresses the deep meaning! Everyone who comes here has a different purpose, forget it, I'm just lazy, so what do you do every day?

Wave: Wait for the waves to come, sleep if there are no waves.

Shui Duoduo: ... "Laziness is an attitude, and wastefulness is a belief"

There is no time here... you just need a beer, some sun, and some waves.

The wanderers and lazy people here are pretty good, but the villagers are just the same. It feels like CNM when I mention it!

There are one or two B&Bs here that are okay, the others are just so-so. Dumplings will be cooked soon, so if you haven't been there yet, go check it out now and you may still be able to catch some peace and quiet!

Houhai Village is a small peninsula that extends into the sea, surrounded by the sea on three sides. The pier to Wuzhizhou Island is located in Houhai Village. To the south is the most famous Queen's Bay in Houhai Village. The water quality of Queen's Bay is really not inferior to that of Yalong Bay. When we came, Houhai Village was undergoing a large-scale renovation of the entire village. Chatting with the villagers, the villagers said that the country has invested a lot of money here to build a new type of village. Maybe in a year, there will be a Zengcuo'an or Gulangyu here. I am very glad to visit this small fishing village before it is overdeveloped.

By Ayiniris |

There are not many people here, the waves are big, and it is very suitable for surfing

Houhai is actually a village, and the main way to get to Wuzhizhou Island is through the village's pier.

There is a fence gate to the east of the police station that does not allow people to enter. Doesn't this attract people to enter? So, I went in along the small slope next to the fence gate. There are small paths inside, and I found some passers-by and some people taking wedding photos (later I heard from friends that it was a wedding photo base). It happened to be a paradise for me, not because I wanted to take wedding photos, but because there were few people.

This small fishing village is very beautiful and quiet. I stayed here the longest during both visits to Hainan. It is not commercialized and there are not many tourists. The bar is built along the beach, which is very interesting. This is the only place in Hainan Island where surfing is free. Opposite is Wuzhizhou Island.

This is the first stop of my surfing trip. Houhai, from November to April in winter, is a very good place for surfing trips and living. There are mostly people from Sichuan and Northeast China. It was my first time to meet Sichuan people. "Contentment is the key" is the most appropriate way to describe Sichuan people. We would eat together and play together. During the five months in Houhai, this time made me feel very happy.

By Big waves |

Houhai Village, also known as "Tenghai Fishing Village", is also a bay, part of Haitang Bay, a small bay in the big bay.

Next to "Tenghai Fishing Village" there is a medium-sized mountain, which the locals call Houhai Mountain. Houhai Mountain extends straight into the sea, dividing Houhai Bay into South Bay and North Bay.

My feeling here is: I can feel the atmosphere of a fishing village in the North Bay and the passion of the sea in the South Bay. The result? I have the urge to become a fisherman here.

Love this place!

By TravelKay |

Houhai Village is located next to the Wuzhizhou Island Pier. It is a small fishing village that has not yet been fully developed. The fishermen are simple and honest, and life in the village is leisurely and comfortable. Those who want to relax can come here to escape from the world.

Houhai Village, also known as Tenghai Fishing Village, is a small peninsula located between Yalong Bay and Haitang Bay, 35 kilometers away from Sanya City. Bus No. 28 can directly reach the Wuzhizhou Island Pier at the entrance of the village. But many tourists don’t know that when they rush to take the ship to Wuzhizhou Island, they always miss the secret back garden next to the pier - Houhai Village. Houhai Village is also the place where CCTV filmed the first ray of sunshine in the millennium in 2000. It is known as the best place to watch the sunrise in the whole of Sanya. Sanya Houhai, also known as Houhai Cape or Queen's Bay, is located in Haitang Bay in the eastern suburbs of Sanya City. It is in harmony with Wuzhizhou Island in the north and shares the same sea area with Wuzhizhou Island.

The plan of staying in Houhai Fishing Village was to get up early to watch the sunrise in the evening and then quickly enter Wuzhizhou Island. However, we went to the wrong beach and ended up at Queen's Bay. We didn't see the sunrise, but we queued until the red spot on the horizon!

Once upon a time, this place was a hidden gem - a great place discovered by a group of surfers.

I was also quite surprised when I went there. This place is right next to the crowded Wuzhizhou parking lot.

Houhai Fishing Village is actually not very big, and the village near the parking lot has gradually become a food stall for eating, drinking and having fun.

Walking along Houhai Village, you can still see many details of the lives of ordinary fishermen, which has the flavor of an old fishing village.

The sea in Houhai Village is not very wide, but the water is very clear, the sand is very fine, and there are only a few people swimming.

It is indeed a good place to avoid crowds, play in the water and watch the sea.

When I first entered the village, I felt that it was just an ordinary urban-rural fringe area, filled with incompatible colors and products that were both modern and old-fashioned.

But as you walk slowly in, you will be further away from the noisy crowd, and occasionally you can see some small shops with their own style on the street.

This kind of life is so much better than living in the urban forest.

No matter how many tall buildings there are in the city or how beautiful the architectural style is.

Anyway, there is smog everywhere and we can't see anything clearly.

I'm almost losing myself.

As we go deeper into the village, the commercial atmosphere gradually disappears, replaced by the real life of the villagers here.

Occasionally you can still see cheap coconuts being sold in front of the old house. Just pay and take them.

Drinking a sip of iced coconut juice on the sun-baked old street is more direct and refreshing than any delicious meal.

There are many places to eat on the main street, with Sichuan cuisine, Cantonese cuisine, and Sanya seafood all available.

Walking towards Houhai Pier, you will see many surfing homestays.

The price here is cheap, which is very suitable for young people to stay for a while.

Compared to a hotel, the atmosphere here is more like the "hometown by the sea" that people expect.

The B&Bs at Houhai Beach are like this, with plants growing everywhere and coconut shells scattered around, looking wild and uninhibited.

There are surfboards scattered everywhere. If you want to go surfing, just grab one and run to the beach.

I have to say that the water in Houhai doesn’t look very good, but it is actually very clear and clean. The most important thing is that the sand on the beach is very fine. It is definitely a great place for swimming and surfing in Sanya.

How is the water quality here different from other places?

Let me put it in simple terms.

My dad said that after he swam in Sanya Bay, a group of flies surrounded him.

I swam here and not a single fly came.

It was the first time I saw such a sea. It looked like a fairy who was not in touch with the world. When I got closer, I saw that the sea water was very clear and transparent. It was said that there were corals to purify the sea water. When the weather was good, the visibility was 18 meters deep. It was a diving paradise in China. The beach was white as snow. The sea gradually turned into light yellow. Then there was the sea water. It was transparent light green, and then gradually deepened outwards, emerald green, dark green, light blue, sky blue, and finally dark blue. It felt very much like the Maldives. I couldn't help but pick up the camera and take pictures crazily. This scene should only be in heaven. Wandering in the nearby garden. The garden was very quiet and exquisite. There were gusts of coconut breeze. White pigeons and peacocks were leisurely strolling on the grass. Some children wanted to play with them, but unfortunately the white pigeons didn't appreciate it and flapped their wings and rushed to the roof of the small house. What was surprising was that there were many swings in the garden. The colors were bright and they were a landscape in themselves. Without exception, they faced the sea. It would be nice to sit there with your loved one, swing, watch the ebb and flow of the tide, and grow old together.

If you want to go diving, it is best to choose a day with clear weather and calm sea, otherwise the scenery you see will be discounted. According to the housekeeper's advice, we chose boat diving, which means taking a speedboat to a farther sea for diving. The diving instructor will first teach you some common sense and hand gestures, and then take you to dive slowly until the water depth is about 5 meters. When your ears are fully adapted, you will finally dive to about 18 meters, allowing you to watch the colorful coral reefs, luminous snails, sea cucumbers, mackerel, pomfret and colorful coral reef fish at a very close distance. It is beautiful:) You don't need to swim by yourself during the whole process, the instructor will control you. Avoid exhaling through your nose, otherwise the goggles will produce fog and affect your vision. If you need it, there is also a diving camera, but it costs a lot of 480 yuan.

The food on the island was really not tasty and not very good. A family of three spent three hundred silver coins and still couldn't eat enough. The child wanted to drink a glass of water, but it cost five yuan. It was really too dark. My husband said he was starving when he left the island. There is a Chinese and western restaurant with Hainan characteristics at the parking entrance, next to the parking lot. There is a Chinese and western restaurant with Hainan characteristics at the entrance, next to the parking lot. It's on the second floor. I was afraid it would be too expensive, so I said we should go back to the city to eat. My husband said let's go up and take a look when we got there. There were many guests inside, and they all said that the group meal was not tasty and not suitable for human consumption. Fortunately, there were fast food and simple meals upstairs, all with clearly marked prices. I asked casually and they all said it was delicious and not expensive. You can eat well and be full for 20 yuan. I have been to several attractions in Sanya, and it's not so cheap to eat. It's really worth recommending.

More and more independent travelers are eyeing this place. There are many bars and snacks, and inns are springing up like mushrooms after rain. There are a lot of people from the first to the fifth day of the Chinese New Year.

In order to go to Wuzhizhou Island, I stayed in Houhai Village. You can get there from the city by taxi or bus. The transportation is quite convenient. Because it is close to the seaside, you can smell the salty and humid sea breeze when walking on the road. There are many hotels, shops, barbecues and seafood. I saw the sunset on the beach of Houhai Village. This is a free attraction that we did not plan in the itinerary but gained the most unexpectedly. Because it is very close to where we live, it takes only five minutes to walk. Compared with the more well-known beaches such as Sanya Bay and Yalong Bay, this beach in Houhai Village is actually an undeveloped beach that retains the simple style of fishermen. Occasionally, three or five villagers come to take a walk or walk their dogs. This is the real slow time. Later, I met a girl who asked me to help her take a picture with a crystal ball. In order to thank us, she also kindly took pictures for us. I was really moved after seeing the pictures. Later, we also traveled to Wuzhizhou Island together and left contact information with each other. You never know what kind of surprises you will encounter on your journey~

I feel that the people here live a very comfortable and slow pace of life, and I feel very comfortable staying here.

This is my favorite place in Sanya. I can lie on the hammock and watch the sea every day.

Houhai Village is located next to Wuzhizhou Wharf. It is a lower village where local villagers live. It is not a big place. Behind the village is Houhai Bay. Houhai Bay itself is very small, but it has the advantage of few people. Moreover, the waves here are very gentle but very powerful and sustainable. It is a great place for novice surfers to learn. There are many surfing shops, bars and inns here, which are convenient for surfing enthusiasts to relax and live. But if you are not interested in surfing, the beach and sea here are nothing amazing. The accommodation price here is very low, and of course the conditions are not good. Basically, you can stay for more than 100 yuan a night. Because it is a village, it is very convenient to eat. Whether it is breakfast or dinner, there are many restaurants and the price is cheap. When you come to Houhai Village, you should pay attention that taxis here are basically easy to find before 4 pm, because there are many drivers working in Wuzhizhou, but 4 o'clock is the return peak of Wuzhizhou Island, so it is very likely that you will not be able to get a taxi.

Love, quiet, comfortable, cozy, for me, this is enough, I have had enough of the hustle and bustle of the city, enough of the hypocrisy, it is better to wash the soul here, the simplicity of the fishermen makes me feel that human nature is good! And it is very close to Wuzhizhou Island, visually! Haha! Recommended to people who don't pursue attractions! In addition, Houhaizishi is super quiet and there is Aladdin's lamp!

Houhai Village is the port to Wuzhizhou Island. Unlike Sanya, the beach was quiet and the sea water returned to its original blue. We stayed here for five days.

We stayed at an inn owned by a Beijinger by the sea. We spent our time here completely relaxing.

Taking a stroll along the beach in the early morning, you can see waves crashing against the rocks nearby and fishing boats illuminated by the sun shining through the clouds in the distance.

At night, all the noise is gone, and you can fall asleep just by listening to the rhythmic sound of the waves. Houhai Village is divided into two beaches, the south and north. The beach in the south bay is relatively flat, suitable for swimming and surfing. There are people practicing surfing in the south bay every day.

The northern beach is a pier and reefs, where you can go hang gliding or take a boat to Wuzhizhou Island, or you can go around to the east to watch the sunrise.

Tenghai Bay is really nice under the sunset. We played there for a while.

Near the Wuzhizhou Island Pier, because the room is non-refundable, even if you sign up for a one-day tour, you still have to stay for one night. According to the guide, there is a Queen's Bay nearby, so I went to stay there to have a look. The city is too noisy and I don't like it. Later I found that it was completely amazing, because Queen's Bay has a kind of beauty and gentleness that does not belong to Wuzhizhou Island, jelly-like clear water, shallow bay, very calm and gentle. Maybe there are fewer tourists, and it is very quiet to enjoy the morning time. The children are catching crabs and watching small fish on the beach. It's a very quiet time. It's just that eating in the village is more expensive, and most of the nights are barbecue.

Small fishing village with nice sea view, but inconvenient transportation, far from Sanya city.

The most worthwhile place to visit in Houhai Village. It is sparsely populated and suitable for a boring walk. From time to time, you can also meet some people who love surfing

Very beautiful, very quiet, the beach is very fine, the waves are small, and the water quality is very good

Houhai Fishing Village is now called Tenghai Fishing Village, not "Houhai". At first I thought I came to the wrong place, and only understood it after asking the locals.

Houhai Fishing Village is right at the entrance of Wuzhizhou Island Visitor Center. The village is not small. I heard that there are more than 3,000 villagers, many of whom are Tanka people. The village faces the sea on two sides and is backed by mountains on one side, and the remaining side is the road into the village. The northernmost side is the fishing village's pier, which is next to the pier of Wuzhizhou Island Visitor Center; the southernmost side is the famous Queen's Bay (some people also call it Houhai Bay), where there are many surfing inns, about a dozen, with distinctive decorations, Mediterranean style, pirate culture, etc. There is a mountain on the east side, but the locals said that they can't go up, it belongs to the land of a certain army... I heard that there are macaques on it, and the sea view is first-class. It feels a bit like a smaller version of Nanwan Monkey Island. It's a pity that you can't go up.

There are many restaurants in the village, so there are many foods to eat, with all kinds of flavors from all over the world. Walking from the entrance of Wuzhizhou Island to the village, there are restaurants all the way, mostly stir-fry, and there are many Tanka-style and Sichuan-Chongqing-style seafood. At night, many of these restaurants will set up stoves and do barbecue. You can eat great Tanka barbecue at any restaurant. I love grilled squid and grilled shrimp. It is very addictive to eat seafood barbecue with beer (local fishermen said that they have been eating seafood and beer since they were young, and no one in the village suffers from gout, a rich disease). There are also restaurants such as roasted lamb legs, Northeast dumplings, Hunan restaurants, Lanzhou ramen, etc. The consumption price of food and beverage here is moderate, but the closer to the entrance of Wuzhizhou Island scenic area, the more expensive it is, and the more affordable it is as far as the village goes. It is basically the same as Sanya city. Many restaurants have group purchases, which are more practical.

There is a Tielugang port 1.5 km away from the village, which is full of fish fillets. This is a paradise for foodies. They are all fresh wild seafood, and the price is not expensive. I bought a coupon on Meituan and went straight to the fish fillets. It was really enjoyable to drink beer while enjoying the sea breeze and listening to the sound of waves. I drooled when I thought about it.

There are also many dried fish caught by fishermen in the village. The price is not expensive. You can try to buy some to take back. It is cheaper than that in Sanya First Market.

Recommended gameplay: It is recommended to stay in the inn on the south side of the village, that is, on the Queen's Bay side, because there are beach inns here. When you go out, you can swim in the sea and surf the waves. It is very interesting to take a walk on the beach and drink some wine at night. Since the village is not small, it is recommended to rent an electric car at the entrance of Tenghai Lane 1 in the village. You can ride it when you go out for dinner or go to the pier, eat seafood at Tielugang, or even go to the duty-free shop. It is very convenient. Otherwise, it is really a bit lost if you walk. You can also fish at the village's pier and Tielugang Port. It is also interesting to walk at the pier at night. If you are tired of staying in the village, you can ride an electric car to Haitang Square. It will take more than ten minutes to get there. The sea view there is very beautiful and there are few people. You can see Wuzhizhou Island and the entire Haitang Bay area. After the tour, go to the duty-free shop. We rode an electric car from Haitang Square and it took 10 minutes to get there. By the way, when you leave the village and go to Haitang Square, you will pass by the 301 Hospital Square, which is right by the lake. The scenery and air there are very good and worth a visit.

Houhai Village is a quiet little village surrounded by the sea on three sides. It is a must-go place to Wuzhizhou Island. Many people ignore this beautiful village because of the existence of Wuzhizhou Island. On one side is Houhaizi Island, from which you can directly see Wuzhizhou Island and the endless sea. On one side is Queen's Bay, where there are soft sand on the beach. There are not many tourists in twos and threes. When the waves are big, many people will show off their surfing skills, which is so cool~ The other side is the best place to watch the sunrise, but you have to go to the top of the mountain to see the sea here. It is said that CCTV once filmed a sunrise video here. Most of the people here are locals, and some of them have converted their homes into homestays and hotels to facilitate tourists to enter and exit Wuzhizhou Island. When I went there, I met Hai Inn at the corner. It has a very beautiful appearance, and the rooms inside are also exquisitely decorated. There is also the only small bar in the village. In short, Houhai Village is great~ It can give people a leisurely holiday feeling;

We took a banana boat ride and had a barbecue, and there was also a small bonfire party in the evening. The fee per person was 338, which included the lunch set meal and the barbecue and diving activities in the evening. It was quite a good deal!

Many people go to the Wuzhizhou Pier in Tenghai Village and take a boat directly to the island, but they don’t realize that the unremarkable Tenghai Village actually hides the last back garden of Sanya. The periphery of Tenghai Village is indeed unremarkable and low-key. When I first entered Tenghai Village, I really didn’t find anything worth visiting in this village. The bungalows that were constantly demolished and rebuilt, the narrow streets, and the vendors hawking on the streets made me think that this was just another ordinary village in Hainan. However, after turning an intersection and entering the back street, there are more and more petty-bourgeois holiday homes and restaurants, which are interspersed with the original ecological fishing village. There are no signboards and no planned roads, but they are very unique. A bay that suddenly opens up, with sunshine one meter away and the sea seven steps away. The flowers and plants in the small houses by the sea make people feel relaxed and happy. This is the legendary "Houhai".

It is said that Houhai was discovered by a group of foreign surfing youths. The sea water is not deep, but clear, and extends nearly 100 meters in the bay. You can walk a long way by rolling up your trousers. It is a great place for beginners to surf and snorkel. Looking from the seaside to the village, many marine sports clubs and family hotels have densely covered the coastal line of Houhai Village, which has become a major feature here. There are no luxurious facilities, but they are clean and simple, each with its own characteristics and personality. You can dress up as brightly and as relaxedly as you want, so that every family has a Luohan bed in the yard, which is so comfortable that it is enviable. Whether you are enjoying afternoon tea in the sea breeze, or eating a Western meal, or even just sitting on the beach and daydreaming, once you arrive here, you will relax and just want to stay.

Houhai Village is not like a tourist spot, but more like a seaside community full of tropical atmosphere. There are native fishermen and passers-by, but travelers often do not feel like they are on vacation, but live a leisurely life with the fishermen who originally lived on this coast. People who often stay in Houhai have the same skin color - dark, shiny black. Handsome guys with strong bodies wearing big shorts and girls playing in the sea on the beach in various bikinis or bohemian suspender dresses are all beautiful scenery in the village. Colorful surfboards and sunny sea can be seen everywhere, which can make people's hearts clear away.

By Program Planning |

The panoramic view of Houhai includes bright sunshine, fresh air, cool sea breeze, fine and warm soft sand and lush green mountains. It is the only pristine beach in Sanya that has not been damaged or polluted by humans. It is also the best quality and safest beach in Sanya.

The village is not big and the road is very narrow.

Eating is a very easy thing to solve in Houhai Village. There are food stalls and snack shops. We just ate some fried rice, noodles, cold noodles and other snacks nearby. The price is not expensive and the taste is also OK.

I can't help but envy the villagers who live here. "Facing the sea, spring flowers blooming" they quietly enjoy a poetic life. They build their houses in the way they like, wait for the travelers who are destined to come, and listen to different stories. It's really beautiful.

One of the reasons we came to Houhai Mountain was to watch the sunrise.

Houhai is pink in the morning, which makes people think about it.

My favorite thing is to walk to the lighthouse, sit on a big rock, watch the fishermen fishing, feel the sea breeze, think about nothing, and feel very relaxed and comfortable.

Although it is just a small fishing village, it is known as the secret back garden of Sanya and a paradise for surfing beginners. I became addicted to surfing after watching "Soul Surfer". I searched for surfing places in China on Baidu... and found this place. Of course, there is more than just surfing here, there are other fun things.

By In the Dark |

Across the village is Houhai, which has much better beaches but also many people. This is a holy place to watch the sunrise.

At night, you can stroll here in Houhai Fishing Village, which is only 100 meters away from Wuzhizhou Island Pier. It is very pleasant! Whether it is the scenery or the enthusiasm and simplicity of the locals, you will feel happy in a paradise. Look forward to a more exciting tomorrow!

Houhai is very beautiful and is the last undeveloped paradise in Sanya.

The water in Houhai is not very clear, so it is not an ideal place for swimming. The biggest advantage is that there are few people, so it is suitable for watching waves, listening to the tide, fishing, strolling, and daydreaming.

Houhai Village is very cool at night, since it is by the sea. And it sometimes rains at night. I don’t understand why. Haha. It is so hot during the day.

When I saw the sea, I was actually very disappointed.

Clear water and small waves! Suitable for beginners of swimming and surfing

By Miss Minracle |

The folk customs in Houhai Village are relatively simple and the people there are very friendly. There is a Zenghui casual snack bar in Houhai West Village. The barbecue is delicious and the price is reasonable.

At night at Wuzhizhou Wharf, the gentle sea breeze blows and the sound of fishing boats' motors can often be heard, creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.

A must-go place to Wuzhizhou Island! Watching the sunset and having a barbecue on the beach of Houhai is really cool!

By Smiling scorpion |

I also learned about this place from Fengwo. I went there this time and it was indeed a piece of pure land. The sea water is beautiful and clear, and the beach is very flat. You can walk a long way from the shore to the middle of the sea, but the water level is not even knee-deep. If the surrounding inns can maintain and clean the beaches in front of their own houses, it will be even more beautiful. There are many foreigners living in Houhai, all of whom are surfing enthusiasts.

A quiet beach, a person watching the sunrise and sunset, the wind and clouds rolling. A group of people snorkeling and surfing; it is very lively

I don't know if the photo is placed here correctly, and the address is wrong. This is where we rested before diving. There were hammocks and we ate hot pot by the sea.

This fishing village has not been fully developed, it is very secluded, far from the city center, and transportation is inconvenient, so there are few tourists. I chose this place just for the sake of peace and quiet. But... It really feels like I was sent back to the 80s, and I remembered my childhood days in every way.

The most worthwhile place to visit in Houhai Village. It is sparsely populated and suitable for a boring walk. You can also meet some people who love surfing from time to time.

Although it is not very impressive, the beach and recreational projects are definitely on the same level as Wuzhizhou. I heard the staff on Wuzhizhou Island say that the recreational activities there were not formal or something. Later I found out that it was all exclusion. The water quality and recreational projects in Houhai are definitely not better than those in Wuzhizhou. And they are more exciting and cheaper.

By China-TravelNote users |

Houhai Fishing Village is actually on the other side of Wuzhizhou Wharf. On the left side of the road is the crowded Wuzhizhou Wharf, and on the right side of the road is the quiet and peaceful Houhai Fishing Village.

In a small fishing port town, I got up early in the morning to watch the fishermen returning from fishing. When I heard their accents, I found that most of them were from Guangdong. It must not be easy to travel such a long distance. Hainan has become my second home!
