Sanya Yalong Bay Central Plaza is a key landmark leading to the bay. Its giant totem poles, imbued with Li ethnic culture, are perfect for photo opportunities. The Shell Museum in the center of the plaza showcases rare shell specimens from around the world, offering a fascinating educational experience. Surrounded by swaying coconut trees, the white sandy beach is just a 5-minute walk away, making it a seamless transition to a beach day. The plaza offers convenience stores and restaurants, but it's heavily commercialized, so it's recommended to stay for about an hour to combine a beach day with a relaxing beach day. It's a perfect stopover on your Yalong Bay itinerary, offering a fusion of tropical charm and convenient amenities.

While Yalong Bay Central Square itself isn't particularly impressive, it's a landmark of the city, particularly its totem pole, comprised of over 200 massive granite blocks and 2.5-meter-diameter aluminum alloy columns. This attracts numerous visitors for photo opportunities. The totem pole, the highest point of the square, is carved with images of a dragon, phoenix, sunbird, fish, and the four gods of wind, rain, thunder, and lightning. Surrounding the central sculpture area of the totem pole are three stone circles: the first features the four seasons—the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermillion Bird, and Black Tortoise—along with a sundial depicting the 24 solar terms. The second depicts eight ancient myths: Pangu creating the world, Nuwa mending the sky, Chang'e flying to the moon, the dancing Ganqi (steed) with a shield, Dayu controlling the floods, the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, Houyi shooting down the sun, and Kuafu chasing the sun. The third depicts astronomy, humans, animals, plants, and all living things, as well as eight ancient Chinese gods. The totem pole and sculptures seamlessly integrate, embodying a strong sense of ancient Chinese astronomy and Eastern mysticism. The five groups of white sail-like pointed tents and large colorful fountains designed on the periphery of the square add a modern touch to the sculptures with ancient cultural connotations.

From here along the beach to the underwater world side, it belongs to the public beach area. Many tourists empty themselves here and chase the waves. In short, I am very satisfied.

The overall service is very good. Although the consumption is high, the service is up to par. It is worthy of being the most popular family hotel!

This is probably the only place in Yalong Bay that can be considered a place for shopping. There are supermarkets and some places to eat.

Yalong Bay Central Square is a large water recreation area with great water. It is as big as the Yalong Bay first-line sea view hotel. There are many water projects and many people soliciting customers, but I just strolled around. There are many places to eat, drink and have fun around. It is also very close. In short, it is a good beach.

Sanya, the Oriental Hawaii, is a paradise spoiled by God, where it is summer all year round, the waters are warm and the winds are calm.

Yalong Bay combines ocean, beach and sunshine, comparable to any internationally renowned tropical coastal resort.

Dadonghai has a high overall cost-effectiveness ratio. The price of sea view rooms is comparable to that of mountain view rooms in Yalong Bay. There is a direct airport bus.

By GingerPear |

You can overlook the beach. If you are not staying at the Yalong Bay Hotel, you can come and take a look. Relatively speaking, there are more people. It may be because the sunlight is not so strong in the evening, so everyone comes out to play.

The first time I went there was in the winter of 2011. At that time, I could play freely on Yalong Bay Beach. Then I went there again in the winter of 2016. Because of some music festival, the beautiful beach was closed and I could not enter for free.

It is about 1 kilometer from the Underwater World to the Yalong Bay Central Square. We walked along the path by the sea and could see the beach from time to time. The clouds in the sky gradually thickened and it was already very dark on the other side of the mountain. However, the sea was okay, but the speed at which the clouds moved was amazing.

I went there many years ago, arriving in Sanya from Hebei. My first reaction was, "What a blue sky! What a fresh air!" However, the attractions were average, nothing special, and the central square didn't seem to have much to offer. I spent a few minutes there before moving on to the next attraction.

By Laughing at the Sky |

This is actually a large seafood market with a wide variety of seafood, which is then processed right next to the market. The market is very standardized and prices are clearly marked. There are disabled access roads and other well-equipped paths. There seems to be an underwater world zoo in the center of the square, but we didn't go there.

I went there a long time ago with a tour group. It was a quick tour, seeing all the usual sights. I didn't find anything special, except for the fine white sand and clear water on the white beach, but nothing else. The food on the tour group was terrible, and there were a lot of shopping options. Introduction to Yalong Bay Central Plaza:

The central square rises to the blue sky with totem poles and extends to the earth and the sea with sculptures. Its grandeur and unique artistic modeling guide our imagination to expand to infinite space in a limited artistic space.

Totem Pole

The totem pole, the highest point in the square, stands 26.8 meters tall. It is composed of over 200 massive granite blocks and a 2.5-meter-diameter aluminum alloy column. Carvings depict the dragon, phoenix, sunbird, fish, and the four gods of wind, rain, thunder, and lightning. The square was originally a mass grave site for wartime events.

Central Sculpture Area

Three circles of stone carvings are formed around the central sculpture area of the totem pole, which are grand and unique in image: the first circle has the four seasons symbols of Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermillion Bird and Black Tortoise and the 24 solar terms sculptures of the sundial; the second circle respectively depicts eight ancient myths, namely Pangu creating the world, Nuwa mending the sky, Chang'e flying to the moon, Nong Tian dancing with Gan Qi, Dayu controlling the flood, Cowherd and Weaver Girl, Houyi shooting the sun and Kuafu chasing the sun; the third circle reflects astronomy, humans, animals, plants, all living things and eight ancient Chinese gods.

The totem poles and sculptures seamlessly blend together, creating a strong sense of ancient Chinese astronomy and Eastern mysticism. Five groups of white, sail-like, pointed tents and a large, colorful fountain surrounding the square add a modern touch to the sculptures' ancient cultural significance. There's nothing to go there, just a sign.

By Fang Qufei |

Just past the square, you'll reach the beach. The sun was strong, so there wasn't much to see.

By swimming fish |

This is just above the Yalong Bay Beach. There is a landmark carved stone pillar. We didn't go in, so I can't say much about it. You need to pay 50 yuan for the entrance fee. It's better to swim more if you have this time.

By caterpillar |

Passing by the scenic spot, the pillar is considered the landmark building of Yalong Bay.

The totem pole, the highest point of the square, stands 26.8 meters tall and is composed of over 200 massive granite and aluminum alloy columns. Carved with images of dragons, phoenixes, birds, fish, and the four gods of wind, rain, thunder, and lightning, the totem and sculptures blend seamlessly into one, creating a strong sense of ancient Chinese astronomy and Eastern mysticism. Four white, sail-like, pointed tents add a modern touch to the square, steeped in ancient cultural significance.

The Central Plaza, with its majestic momentum and unique imagination, stretches into infinite space, depicting rising totems and sculptures reaching toward the earth and the sea. Located in the heart of the Yalong Bay National Tourism Resort, adjacent to the ocean, the Yalong Bay Central Plaza covers over 70,000 square meters and houses a large parking lot, a reception center, a restaurant, a shopping center, a food court, and a marine activity center. It is a comprehensive plaza integrating tourism, gatherings, receptions, dining, and entertainment, and is a landmark building within the resort.

A large-scale environmental art installation, a totem sculpture complex, stands in the center of Yalong Bay Central Plaza. The sculpture complex centers on a 27-meter-tall totem pole, with three circles of stone formations and a circle of sculptures depicting the 24 solar terms at its base. The totem pole is round inside and square outside, with carved images rising from all directions around it.
