Miaoluo Scenic Area is one of the largest red leaf scenic areas discovered and opened in China. It was once more than 180 times larger than the Xiangshan Red Leaf Scenic Area in Beijing.
In October and November, Miaoluo reaches the most beautiful time of the year, and the red leaves all over the mountains are very spectacular!
--The distinctive stone fortresses, ancient castles, watchtowers and other buildings in the Tibetan and Qiang ethnic minority villages are nestled among the dense forests, arranged in an orderly manner and still retain many ancient folk customs.
If you want to see the red leaves, you can only hike deep into the ditches on both sides of the road to see them. The time of the red leaves is not fixed every year, so you need to consult with the scenic area.

Timing is very important, it is recommended to go in late October, and enjoy the colorful forests along the way.
Not long after passing the county town, I saw a sign for the scenic spot. In late October every year, this is a great place to view red leaves. There are no outstanding sights in other seasons.
The famous one is called Miyaluo Red Leaf Town. It should be very beautiful if you come in the right season.
The trees along the river valley gradually changed color by the end of October, with shades of red and yellow, some darker and some lighter, a truly beautiful sight. It's just that it's located next to the road, so you can't stop and admire it anytime.
The construction of a power station in Miyaluo in recent years has destroyed part of the red-leaf forest, which is a pity.
If I had come a month later, I might have seen the most beautiful scenery in western Sichuan. I always thought Miyaluo was a scenic spot. But when I read travelogues, I realized that Miyaluo is actually very large. The scenery along the way belongs to Miyaluo, and Miyaluo is the most beautiful in autumn.
The scenery along G317 from Miaoluo Town to Bipenggou is beautiful, with colorful forests and mountains dyed in a riot of color.
Everyone knows that the most beautiful scenery is on the road. The Miaoluo Scenic Area is indeed a relatively large area with four seasons a year, and each season has its own scenery.
I only went to one of the gullies. The car can drive to a small pasture on the top. After that, an off-road vehicle is needed to reach a higher altitude. Although there are no red leaves all over the mountains at this time of year, the scenery is still good. The main thing is that there are few people, and it is very convenient to take pictures without obstruction. Hahahaha~~~
It turned out to be a valley nestled among mountains. Summer in Miyaluo wasn't particularly beautiful, completely lacking the vibrant colors of autumn. Instead, it was a vibrant expanse of green, devoid of tourists, like a shy girl. As we drove through the canyon, a light rain fell, bringing a chill to the air. Standing amidst the mountains, I could actually smell the scent of ice chips. Prayer flags fluttered in the mountains, a rich Tibetan atmosphere. The small meadows, covered in vibrant flowers, added a touch of tenderness.
(There are red leaves in the ditches, and springs in the ditches)
The Miyaluo Scenic Area includes Miyaluo, Bipenggou and Gulugou, but Miyaluo does not have a real scenic area. The most beautiful scenery is on the road from Miyaluo to Bipenggou.
Miyaluo Scenic Area is not yet fully developed, but it can't resist the excitement of skiing.
I don't know if I didn't find the right place for Miyaluo. It's just a town. The scenery is all on the road. There is no scenery I expected, so I feel it is very ordinary.
There's not much to see this season, everything is withered and yellow... And there are construction sites everywhere... It's so sad, there's not even the beauty of a small town... The only thing is that there are kind locals who gave us free rides and refused to take any money... It was a very warm feeling.
The red leaves have been destroyed by the hydropower station. I basically didn't see any red leaves when I went there. I was very disappointed. The hot spring hotel in Gulugou is good, but you don't go to the plateau for the hotel.
From Bipenggou, it took about an hour to drive to Miyaluo. Many sections had speed limits of 40 or 20 kilometers per hour. Upon arrival, I checked into the Autumn Dream Hotel. When checking in, the front desk clerk said the fall foliage had already passed. Suddenly, a deep sense of frustration washed over me. The entire 317 highway had become a massive construction site. How could I even see the fall foliage? They'd all gone.
Because a highway is being built along the way, it feels like a construction site all the way. Many beautiful scenery places have been destroyed, and there are many and messy electric wires on the roadside. It is difficult to avoid them when viewing the scenery and taking pictures. The viewing experience is indeed not as good as before.
The real Miyaluo is most beautiful in November
Although I'm reviewing the Miyaluo Scenic Area, I actually recommend Bipenggou and Heishui's Ten Miles of Colorful Forest. The best times are in late October and early November. The weather is generally sunny then. For the former, you should definitely go early in the morning, when the sun is at its peak. It's less crowded and the scenery is at its best. For the latter, it's best to go in the afternoon (if you're also going to the glacier, it's best to go at noon; otherwise, going too early will obscure the beauty of several scenic spots along the way without sunlight).
On the way back from the Sichuan West Loop, I passed by Miaoluo. I actually wanted to see the red leaves, but... maybe the red leaves in Miaoluo had almost all fallen in the early years, and there were very few red leaves even during the Red Leaf Festival.
At that time, I signed up for a camping tour. The starry sky and sea of clouds were so beautiful. At night, we sang and cheered loudly on the mountain. Maybe this is the travel of young people. Miroya is a very beautiful place. I have always wanted to go there. This tour group is also very good and not expensive. It is only 200 yuan for two days and one night. It is really worth it. I have always liked the natural beauty with mountains, water and people. I stayed in a tent at night. It was really nice for my first time living in the wild. If you like this, the Qitu tour group is a good choice.
Visitors who have visited in autumn describe the autumn as the maple, birch, pine, and larch trees in the dense forests along the Miaoluo River valley gradually recover from the frost. The mountains are blanketed in crimson leaves, the water is stained with crimson leaves, and the roads are paved with crimson leaves, forming clusters and balls of fire that resemble the Miaoluo flame. The scenery is especially captivating in Pusagou, about 11 kilometers from Miaoluo Town, where you'll be captivated by the breathtaking scenery, leaving you feeling relaxed and refreshed, and reluctant to leave.
The Miyaluo Scenic Area refers to a large area near Miyaluo Town. However, we usually only see the colorful forests on the hillsides along the road, and rarely go deeper into the valley.
In recent years, due to the construction of highways, climate change and other reasons, the colorful forests in Miaoluo are no longer as beautiful as before.
You can stay here, there is nothing to do
A very good place, but it's not the best time now. After a few years, when the highway is repaired, the scenery along the way will be better.
We passed by this scenic spot on the way to Seda. It was not the season yet, so the maple leaves had not turned red yet, which was a pity.
I don't know who said Miyaluo is a scenic spot, but that's complete nonsense. Miyaluo is a town in Li County, over 50 kilometers from Bipenggou. As of February 2017, the area had been completely destroyed by the construction of the Wenma Expressway. I heard that the construction of the expressway chopped down many of the maple leaves on the mountain, and now only the red leaf sign at the entrance to the town remains. I drove Highway 100 for nothing, but ended up seeing nothing.
Miyaluo is not a scenic spot, so there is no such thing as charging a fee.
The entrance to the scenic area is easy to miss. We missed the entrance when we drove by ourselves, but we were very disappointed that we didn’t see the red leaves.
I stayed in Miyaluo on the first night. It's a pity that the leaves are not golden yet. I will go there next time.
Anyway, the fellow villagers along the way were very enthusiastic. We felt a little sorry that we didn't see the red leaves this time. We will go there next time.
Miyaluo, translated in Tibetan as "Funny Basin," is a vibrant autumn scene, with thousands of trees adorned with vibrant colors. The vibrant colors, combined with the blue sky, white clouds, mountains, and rivers, create an enchanting autumn landscape. However, the cascade hydropower stations being built everywhere have severely damaged Miyaluo. The densely packed power lines and poles make it difficult to avoid even taking a photo.
I followed the navigation for several hours with great expectations. I heard the navigation say that the Miyaluo Scenic Area is right next to you. However, I couldn't find the entrance to the scenic area. I asked someone and the uncle told me that the scenic area is on both sides of the road. I searched and found out that we were all there to see the red leaves. In August, the red leaves are still green.
The red leaves are not at their reddest yet. When I passed by in October 2015, the road was under construction, so the road condition was poor. Once the road surface is smooth, I may be able to see the red leaves and my mood will be different.
I didn't come to Miyaluo in autumn, and I just used it as a stopover, so I didn't get to experience it properly. I will come here in autumn next time I have the chance.
We arrived at the scenic spot on October 24th. There were not many red leaves along the main road, so we had to take the small road to find the scenic spot.
The scenery along the way was not as good as expected, and it was all under construction.
Big trucks, rocks, sand, dust, prefabricated houses...
I can't help feeling a little lost and sighing.
I would like to remind you that the road conditions are not very good, and there are many Mr. Huang.
Especially when there are many trucks, you need to be more careful and pay more attention when overtaking.
The scenery of Miyaluo is along the way and there are no fixed scenic spots.
There are two relatively wide dams on the way where you can stop.
Although there are still layers of colorful forests along the way, you still need to be careful not to stop at random.
After all, stopping to take photos on a national highway is not a wise choice.
You can get off the bus and take a look at Miyaluo Town.
The town is not big, but it is very clean. All the street lamps are in the shape of maple leaves, which has a strong local flavor.
There are also Gesang flowers on the local roadsides, which are particularly beautiful.
The occasional red maple tree next to it is enough to attract your attention.
The scenery in these two days is still very good, but the town is really small and it is completely full these days. You can stay in Li County first and then go there the next day. Anyway, one day is more than enough. I don’t know if it will be more popular in a few days, but I am satisfied.
Miyaluo Scenic Area is a broad concept, it is quite large, the scenery is on the road, free. It takes more than an hour to get from Miyaluo Town to Bipenggou in the peak season, including many Tibetan villages. The scenery is unique and unforgettable. Self-driving is the best way
From the travelogue "Dreamlike Shambhala, Colorful Miyaluo" http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/3519587.html
Driving into Miyaluo, where the mountains are full of colors, is like walking into a magical colorful dream corridor.
As the autumn winds begin to blow, the mountains along both sides of the river and the dense forests of the nearby river valley are covered with maples, birches, pine trees, and larch trees. Their leaves have been dyed a brilliant array of colors, covering the mountains and the forests with red. After spreading all these colors, autumn has added a touch of brilliant sunlight.
I took my driver's license test at the beginning of last year, and my driver drove me there. The scenery is quite beautiful. The altitude isn't particularly high, but the climate is quite cold compared to the Chengdu Plain. I went out at night to see the stars; they were bright and twinkling, and the air was nice and comfortable. Several Qiang villages are quite unique and worth a visit. I also recommend the Miyaluo cherries and beef; they're well worth buying.
Miyaluo, located in Li County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, boasts one of the largest and most spectacular red foliage scenic spots discovered in China. As the autumn winds begin to blow, the mountains along the riverbanks and the dense forests of the nearby river valley are covered with maples, birch, pine, and larch trees, their leaves dyed in a vibrant array of colors. The mountains are bathed in crimson, and the forests are awash in vibrant colors. Autumn's vibrant colors are then embellished with a touch of brilliant sunlight.
The Miyaluo Scenic Area is quite large, and this route is ideal for self-driving. Public transportation is inconvenient, as the only options are taxis and hiking. The scenery is more vibrant in autumn, especially during the red foliage season. Since the altitude is high, it's recommended to bring warm clothing. I went there in winter and had a bowl of beef offal soup in Miyaluo town. It felt like the most delicious thing on earth, warming my entire body. However, it wasn't cheap, costing almost 20 yuan per bowl.
The main viewing area is the section of National Highway 317 from Gulugou to Shanjiaoba, a roughly 50-kilometer stretch featuring high mountains, dense forests, deep valleys, and fast-flowing rivers. After frost, the various trees on the mountain gradually change color, first red leaves and then colorful forests, attracting visitors. The scenic area is renowned for its convenient transportation and well-equipped tourist facilities.
The most beautiful red leaves are in the neighboring Heishui County, but the road conditions there are poor, transportation is not very convenient, and few people go there.
At this time in late October, the crimson leaves have passed their peak, but the vibrant forests are still in full bloom. The trees on both sides of the road are adorned with a vibrant hue, stretching for dozens of kilometers. The Zagunao River flows alongside, and Tibetan and Qiang villages appear from time to time, creating a dazzling array of scenery. Driving along the mountain road, breathing in the fresh air and admiring the beautiful scenery, is truly a delight.
Miyaluo is located in northwestern Sichuan. Upon entering Miyaluo, one's first impression is the rolling hills and fresh air. Miyaluo is said to mean "a fun-filled plain" in Tibetan. In late autumn, vibrant leaves drift through the dense forests, accompanied by the gentle autumn breeze, creating a breathtaking scene. While the entire Miyaluo scenic area is vast, the true foliage viewing area is located near National Highway 317. Therefore, it's recommended to hike from Miyaluo Town towards Chengdu to view the vibrant autumn foliage or fallen leaves.
October to early November is the best time to photograph the autumn leaves, so it's best to call ahead to arrange accommodation and transportation. Weekends during the autumn foliage season are very crowded and difficult to book, so avoid weekends.
Transportation: The Miyaluo Scenic Area is located near National Highway 317 and National Highway 213. Since Miyaluo is on both sides of the highway, no entrance fee is required. Long-distance buses depart from Chengdu's Chadianzi Station. They depart at 7:00, 8:00, and 10:30 AM, and the journey takes about six hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus to Ma'erkang or Hongyuan, which is also very convenient. After arriving in Miyaluo Town, you'll need a taxi from Bipenggou in the county seat. A taxi to Bipenggou costs 5 yuan, and 10 yuan to Miyaluo. Chartering a taxi costs 80 yuan.
Accommodation: Miyaluo offers a wide variety of hotels and guesthouses. We stayed at the Gulugou Hot Spring Resort, a fantastic location located in Gulugou Town, Li County, 30 kilometers from the Miyaluo Red Leaf Scenic Area. The entrance to Gulugou is right outside the hotel, making it a truly tranquil escape. If you'd like to bring your own tent, you can find excellent campsites in Gulugou, Miyaluo, or Bipenggou.
Food: The food here is primarily based on wild mushrooms, such as morels, willow mushrooms, cockscomb mushrooms, and goose egg mushrooms. They're great served cold or stir-fried. There's also butter tea and milk tea available, and if you're looking for a drink, try highland barley wine.
Finally, please note that since Miyaluo has an average altitude of approximately 3,500 meters, the temperature difference between day and night is significant, so please bring a raincoat and warm clothing. Also, the ultraviolet rays are very strong. The mountain road to Miyaluo has many sharp turns, so please be careful if you are driving.
The best time to visit here is mid-to-late October, when you can enjoy the magnificent scenery of streams, hot springs, red leaves and snow-capped mountains in the distance.
Although the season has not yet arrived, the early red leaves have already made people intoxicated.
The Miaoluo Scenic Area was severely damaged in the 512 earthquake and is now slowly recovering. From May to July, you can see a sea of flowers here, and in October, you can see colorful forests and red leaves.
We went during the National Day holiday, and the red leaves were not yet fully red. The shop owner said that the red leaves would turn red in November and the scenery would be beautiful. What impressed me most was the place we stayed in - Jiarong Tibetan Village. The service was good, and there was all you could eat, and it was delicious. We stayed in a villa owned by a local, 100 yuan per person, which also included breakfast and dinner. We had Tibetan hot pot in the evening, which was very delicious.
It's not the season for viewing red leaves, so Miyaluo seems very quiet.
Miyaluo recommends visiting between October 10th and 20th to enjoy the red leaves. At this time, the breath of autumn will surround you, making you feel like you have fallen into the embrace of nature. The scenic area is crisscrossed by rivers, and the mountains are continuous. The majestic snow-capped peaks form a beautiful and colorful hundred-mile gallery. Further into the depths, the magnificent golden autumn leaves compete for beauty. Just thinking about this scene is beautiful.
A corner of the street in Miyaluo. Each wind horse flag has scriptures and Buddha images on it, making it easy to integrate into the local culture.
Although there are no red leaves in Miyaluo, the scenery along the way is very beautiful and it is worth a visit.
Miaoluo is a famous place for viewing red leaves, but when we passed by, the best time to view them had passed, and there were only a few colorful trees.
To be honest, there's really not much to do in Miyaluo. Later, I heard from locals that there used to be forests of red leaves in Miyaluo, but later they were cut down for some construction project. There are only a few red leaves left. It was a waste of traveling all this way~~~~
Although the scenery along the Miyaluo line is beautiful, it is very difficult to stop and take pictures because the S209 is very narrow and there is very little road available for parking. As a result, I missed a lot of beautiful scenery. I almost caused a disaster because of my greed for beautiful scenery. Fortunately, I was safe. Travel safety should be the top priority.
This valley is one of the best spots in the Miyaluo Scenic Area to view the crimson leaves. I recommend taking good photos of the two villages and the surrounding scenery. A word of caution regarding Miyaluo's crimson leaves. While the crimson leaves seen in Canada and other places are actually maple leaves that turn red in autumn, maple trees don't grow in the entire Tibetan area. Miyaluo's crimson leaves are the result of the abundant production of lutein and erythrin in the leaves of various local trees and shrubs in autumn. This isn't just a simple red, but a variety of hues, including light yellow, orange, crimson, and purple.
In autumn, the various trees in the dense forests on both sides of the road and the river valley are dyed with colorful colors, which is extremely beautiful.
The trip to Miyaluo, the feeling of sunlight among the leaves is so beautiful
Looking back at the beautiful scenery along the way this time, blue, green, red, white, and yellow, sometimes I feel like I am ruining the picture by being in the scenery...
It was chilly in Miyaluo at this time, and the maple leaves hadn’t turned red yet, so it didn’t look like there was anything interesting to see…
In the Miyaluo Scenic Area in Li County, Miyaluo, which is famous for its red leaves, has not yet seen its colorful autumn colors because it is still early.
At the instigation of my friends, I spent 350 yuan to go to the Miyaluo Scenic Area in western Sichuan to see the red leaves. It is the Chinese Alps, with glaciers, colorful forests, and canyons...
Miyaluo in the evening, perhaps because it wasn't yet fall foliage season, was less crowded, giving it a unique charm. The night sky was filled with stars, and the Milky Way was visible. Unfortunately, my friends didn't bring a tripod, so we couldn't take photos for everyone to enjoy. After the party, we went to the top floor of the hotel to watch the stars. The people were beautiful, the night was beautiful, and I felt a sense of detachment that I will never forget.
Traveling is not about how beautiful the scenery is, but about your mood. Of course, the more beautiful the scenery, the better your mood!
After passing Miyaluo, the rain stopped unexpectedly, and the entire valley was shrouded in clouds and mist, like a fairyland...
It should be the most beautiful season. The beauty of the scene cannot be expressed in photos.
"Miaoluo" is a transliteration of the Tibetan word, meaning "funny plain" in Chinese. Miyaluo is best known for its autumn scenery. In the golden autumn, it transforms into a vibrant world of endless surprises. As the autumn winds blow, the dense forests of maples, acer sylvatica, birch, pine, and larch trees along the Zagunao River in the scenic area gradually frost, their leaves dyed a vibrant crimson and golden yellow. At this time, the mountains and forests are ablaze with crimson, and the 3,000 square kilometers of crimson leaves resemble spring flowers in full bloom, crimson waves ripple, and golden streams flow.
Miyaluo is truly beautiful this season. This trip was rushed, but I was well prepared. I checked the weather and took Monday off. Because beautiful scenery can only be accompanied by good weather, and good mood can only bring good memories...
The weather was inexplicably good, and I had longed for the autumn scenery. I had originally planned to see the red maple leaves, the charming red. However, I had to look for them for a long time but could not find them. Instead, I was faced with a field of autumn yellow sedum.
The weather was really good, but the camera was limited and I was always struggling with the backlight. At a loss for words, I'll just talk nonsense about the close-up shots. I hope the viewers will be happy.
The red leaves in Miyaluo are becoming increasingly rare, with only the artificial tree at the entrance of the village, which displays red leaves year-round, as a reminder of the unique scenery. However, on a good day, this artificial landscape is still quite beautiful.
From the mountains to the valleys, from the waterside to the roadside, maple trees, birch trees, pine trees, and maple trees, on one side is bright yellow like a flame, on the other side is vibrant and dazzling maple red, on one side is lush and jade-like dark green, and on the other side is mysterious and noble purple-gray. Although they seem to be disorganized, the jungle law of nature makes them well-arranged and full of layers.
You have seen Miyaluo with its colorful forests, but have you ever seen her covered in silver?
Miyaluo, a fun place. Just passing by, this is my beautiful hometown.
The Miyaluo Red Leaf Scenic Area is the largest developed red leaf scenic area and is known as the "Red Corridor." Miyaluo is at its most beautiful in autumn. When the autumn wind blows, the dense maple, willow, cypress, cotinus, alpine oak, and yellow broom trees gradually emerge from the frost, turning into a sea of red. The mountains are covered in red, and the forests are dyed red. The crimson leaves overflow with the fiery splendor of autumn.
The Miyaluo Red Leaf Scenic Area is located in Li County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, 263 kilometers from Chengdu. The area boasts rolling mountains, crisscrossing rivers, vast forests, fresh air, and pleasant scenery year-round. It is particularly renowned for its magnificent autumn red leaves and the fascinating customs of the Tibetan and Qiang ethnic minorities.

The slope on the hill, the maple leaf beside the stream, the colorful tree under the sun, and the fire beside the bridge, this is a colorful world, so beautiful.
A few days ago, there was a cold night, and Miaoluo seemed to have been washed away of all its makeup. The Red Army had retreated, and everywhere I looked, the mountains were covered with golden armor.
Only Miyaluo, a place that sounds very European, interests me.
The Miaoluo Scenic Area is about 45 kilometers long. It is actually composed of large and small mountains and villages. The scenery along the way is very beautiful.
The colorful trees along Miyaluo Road are still as beautiful as ever. The air is truly fresh. But Miyaluo isn't as lively as it used to be.
Miyaluo Nature Reserve is a great place to see the red leaves starting in late October each year, but there are no outstanding sights in other seasons. The road is now well-maintained, with clear signs and good road conditions.
