Tai'an Ancient Town

泰安古镇

The first scenic spot of Qingcheng Back Mountain is centered on the ancient and quiet Tai'an Temple, and has a complete range of quaint shopping streets.
Since ancient times, it has been an important transit town for materials in Sichuan, and has always been a gathering place for merchants. The ancient town was damaged by the Wenchuan earthquake and was rebuilt and opened in 2012.
On both sides of the streets of the ancient town are gurgling streams, ancient wooden buildings, and green houses with tiles, which are arranged in a staggered manner, and the ancient charm still remains.
The ancient town is centered on Tai'an Temple. Buddhist culture echoes with the quaint streets, with both worldly life and Buddhist incense.

There is an ancient town called Tai'an on the back of Mount Qingcheng. Unlike the small towns in the south of the Yangtze River that are built by the water, the ancient town of Tai'an is built beside the mountain.

There is a Jinli ropeway in the town that leads to higher places.

Tai'an Ancient Town can be said to be small but well-equipped. In addition to a small square in the center of the town, there is also a small but exquisite temple.

The town is actually much more lively after nightfall than during the day.

There are rows of restaurants, all competing to display the most delicious food at their windows and doors, and the whole town is filled with the fragrance.

To be honest, many of these snacks were seen for the first time by the OP and his/her mates, and they had no idea what they were called, they just knew they were delicious.

By The joy of running |

Tai'an and Lianghe, the two poorest townships in Dujiangyan City in the past, are meaningless except for mountain climbing. In the whole town, people only stay in hotels and eat. Especially the one who calls you to his house for dinner at the memorial archway is disgusting. If you ignore him, he will say all kinds of vicious words that make you sick. It is a truth that poor mountains and bad waters produce unruly people, and there must be something hateful about pitiful people. Don't burn incense or worship Buddha or interpret the fortune in Tai'an Ancient Temple. You are advised to donate the incense money, and the interpretation of the fortune costs 300 yuan. There are all kinds of tricks.

Tai'an Ancient Town is a small village in the back mountain of Qingcheng. It is not very big, with some ancient houses from the Ming and Qing dynasties and a strong commercial atmosphere.

By Negative burning bag |

After all, commercial development is not very developed in the mountains.

In addition to restaurants, there are small hotels for accommodation.

Roadside stalls everywhere sell the same grilled sausages and cured pork ribs.

At the door of every restaurant there is a local boss who asks you "Have you eaten yet?"

We were forced to say "I've eaten" in Sichuan dialect over and over again to avoid being "questioned".

By 【83】 |

It is a place for locals to relax, cool off, eat and stay on weekends.

There is nothing special about it, so tourists from other places don't need to go there! It also charges 20 yuan for admission, and the town can be walked around in 20 minutes.

Save time and eat Chengdu!

By Freelancer |

In the late 1980s, a street imitating ancient times and a memorial archway were built to develop tourism, and an ancient temple was also built. Every summer, there are many tourists.

By sick |

After the earthquake, the ancient town of Tai'an underwent a comprehensive antique restoration, and the main street is now lined with shops and inns.

By Meet Stefanie |

We booked accommodation in Tai'an Ancient Town, but we had to pass the ticket gate at the back mountain. Even if we didn't climb the back mountain and only went to Tai'an Ancient Town, we still had to buy a ticket, 20 yuan per person, which is similar to the maintenance fee of Lijiang Ancient Town, but this practice does feel unpleasant.

This ancient town located at the foot of Mount Qingcheng has a long history. It is said that it was also greatly affected by the last Wenchuan earthquake. Many parts of the ancient town now were rebuilt later!

There are various inns here. If you want to breathe in the fresh air in the mountains, it’s a good choice to stay in Tai’an Ancient Town!

By Yangyangyang is very lazy |

The ancient town is from the Tang Dynasty. Of course, it has been rebuilt now. Apart from inns and restaurants, the homogeneity is still very high. Just take a look.

By jialexuan |

The brick carvings are so beautiful! It is the first scenic spot in the back mountain of Qingcheng, and it attracts countless tourists during every festival. It is understood that throughout history, Tai'an Ancient Town has been an important town on the post road that must be passed from the Chengdu Plain to the Big and Small Jinchuan. It was called "Huaping Laoze Road" in ancient times. It is like a paradise on earth. There is no artificial obstacle of the city, and you can get in touch with nature to your heart's content. Of course, there are some things we are not used to, such as too many mosquitoes here, probably because the south is humid and rich in mosquitoes. There are also various snacks, which make people intoxicated with the local flavor of the ancient town of mountains and rivers.

By My Thoughts |

This ancient street on the ancient Silk Road is completely occupied by hotels and inns.

By Forever Memory |

It's big and lively, but it's full of food. Unlike the Kuanzhai and Jinli in Chengdu, it doesn't have much of a commercial atmosphere.

By Method |

This town is dominated by ancient-style buildings, combined with modern electronic signs, and the two appear so harmonious.

By On the Road |

The ancient town provides many hotels and inns for summer vacation. In summer, many people from the surrounding areas will come here to escape the heat and play in the water.

By odball gou |

We went into the mountains in the rain. It was cool on the mountain. The tickets were not expensive. It was just a little late when we went there. I will go earlier next time to have more fun.

By Small cat |

Looking for food in the ancient town, the food in the ancient town looks much more delicious

I bought stone-ground tofu pudding, and it tasted delicious, but why did I have to dip it in hot sauce?

I ordered a noodle, which was the only noodle in the whole bowl. The noodle was very chewy, and the noodle soup was not spicy, but rather spicy. Fortunately, there was tofu.

Tai'an Ancient Town is located in the scenic area behind Qingcheng Mountain. It is actually quite nice. The overall style has the feeling of an ancient town, with small bridges and flowing water, which is different from the feeling of the Jiangnan water town.

There are many waterways in the ancient town, and there are fish in some of the waters, especially in front of the restaurant, which is probably what is commonly known as raising fish in living water.

There are so many kinds of snacks, such as beggar's chicken, steamed snacks, braised food...

We passed by a braised food shop and were immediately attracted. We ordered some braised beef in soy sauce as a snack.

Qingcheng Mountain bacon is probably very famous! There are bacon everywhere in the ancient town, just hanging like this. There is a super big bacon shop at the entrance of the ancient town, and my companion bought a big one.

We had bacon at both meals in Qingcheng Mountain, and it was really good and fragrant.

There are many grades of bacon, ranging from 30 to 60. But you get what you pay for. Some are ordinary pork, some are black pigs, and the drying time is different, so the price is also different.

It was my first time buying, so I chose a medium-sized one. My companion chose a piece that cost more than 40 yuan per pound. It was very big and it felt like it would take a long time to eat.

Tai'an Ancient Town was a dilapidated mountain village in the 1980s. In order to adapt to the development of tourism and improve the living standards and happiness index of local people, the ancient town was built in the 1980s. This is the smallest ancient town I have ever visited. It only takes half an hour to walk around. Although the town is small, it is still very convenient for food, accommodation and transportation. You can go directly to the back mountain of Qingcheng from the town. The back mountain of Qingcheng is really beautiful with clear water and natural beauty.

By Hoar millet |

It is an ancient town that must be passed through when going to Mount Qingcheng. There is nothing special about it. It is generally used to solve the problem of eating. The price is a little expensive but acceptable. You can just order a few home-cooked dishes.

By Zhang Da's Story |

The ancient town is very small, with only two streets. It doesn’t have many special features. The only thing is the water, which gives it some spirituality.

By Martian User |

A street at the foot of the front mountain of Qingcheng Mountain, a local snack food street, selling pickled sausages and pork legs. I tried the grilled sausage, which had a lot of fat and lean meat, and tasted salty and spicy. Other snacks are similar to those in Chengdu, but more expensive.

In fact, there are small stalls selling fruits and snacks along the mountain road. The prices are not expensive and the taste is okay. I like the homemade corn tortillas. I ate three pieces in a row. They were sticky and sweet, which is my taste.

There are temples and parking lots in the town, and there is also a bus that goes directly to the train station, 15/person, which is very convenient.

By Because |

It is a modern ancient town and the only way to enter the back mountain of Qingcheng.

By Go your own way |

Tai'an Ancient Town is the first scenic spot in the back mountain of Qingcheng. It is centered on the ancient and quiet Tai'an Temple. The quaint commercial street is very lively, with restaurants, bars, shops and hotels.

The ancient town is not big and it is easy to walk around

Some food

By Cordyceps |

The town was rebuilt after the earthquake. It is very beautiful and clean. It is at the entrance of the back mountain. If you want to walk through the back mountain, you must stay for two nights. The accommodation is not expensive, but the restaurants are expensive. A roasted chicken, all black, is sold for 190. It is called running chicken! The back mountain was developed late, so there are not many people in the ancient town.

By mark |

Tai'an Ancient Town is located in the back of Qingcheng Mountain, in the scenic area. I can't remember the exact amount of money charged for cars and people. The town is not big. Last time I rented a house in the center of the town. There was a restaurant downstairs and accommodation upstairs. It was very good.

Tai'an Ancient Town

You may not have heard of this ancient town, but you must have heard of Qingcheng Mountain. Tai'an Ancient Town is located at the foot of Qingcheng Back Mountain Scenic Area. We need to explain a little bit of history. The original Tai'an Ancient Town was relatively large in scale. Because it was damaged by an earthquake, there is only one main road and old street left. Although there is only one main street, there are many things to eat. There is a Tai'an Temple in the ancient town. If time permits, be sure to go and have a look.

By Da Ning Ning |

A must-go place to the back of Qingcheng Mountain. I visited here before climbing the mountain.

The ancient town at the foot of the back mountain of Qingcheng Mountain was destroyed in the Wenchuan earthquake, but has now been basically restored.

By Bashanshushui |

Tai'an Ancient Town is located at the foot of Qingcheng Back Mountain, only a few dozen kilometers away from Chengdu city, and the round-trip transportation is extremely convenient. You must pass through Tai'an Ancient Town to go to Qingcheng Back Mountain. It is very pleasant to visit Qingcheng Back Mountain and stroll around the ancient town. The ancient town retains more of its original flavor and is particularly cool in summer, which is particularly suitable for leisure and summer vacation.

A commercial street in front of the back mountain of Qingcheng is built in the form of ancient buildings. Tai'an has nothing to do with Tai'an, Shandong Province. It means peaceful and tranquil. It is a good place to take a rest.

By Zifeiyu |

Tai'an Ancient Town is not very big, it is just a long ancient street with two clear springs running through the city on both sides of the street. At the end of the street there is actually a grand Tai'an Ancient Temple, which is quiet and peaceful!

By Aichitoru |

↓It is interesting that Tai'an has two underground rivers surrounding the entire ancient town. ↓The people of the ancient town use this river to raise fish and drink ice beer.

Tai'an Ancient Town is located in the Qingcheng Back Mountain in Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province. It is open all day and suitable for travel all year round. The famous tourist attraction Ancient Tai'an Temple is located in this town. Worth a visit

By Diligent Liu Waiwai |

Tai'an Ancient Town is quite prosperous and there are many inns inside. I took a quick stroll in the ancient town, visited the Tai'an Ancient Temple, had a bite to eat, and then started climbing the mountain.

By Guo Zheteng |

Tourists who want to go to Tai'an Ancient Town must pay attention. If you go to Tai'an Ancient Town for fun, then you are going to the wrong place. There is no bookstore, no KTV, and even newspapers cannot be bought here. It is like a paradise, without business and no messy thoughts. Come here just to cool off, relax, play mahjong, and be in a daze. This is the real place to cultivate one's body and mind, without any artificial obstacles in the city, and get in touch with nature to your heart's content. You don't have to fill your brain with contracts and money anymore. There is only rest and peace here.

By Michelle |

Ask me what impressed me most about Tai'an Ancient Town? It was so cold that I was shivering. When it was quiet at night, the water flowed persistently. During the day, everything melted slowly. The beef noodles in Ginkgo Noodle House were so fragrant, and the air was so lively that I couldn't help but twitch my nostrils.

By FQ🐋 |

This place is really nice. I thought there would be no bus when I arrived at Qingcheng Railway Station, so I thought I might have to take a taxi. Unexpectedly, there was a minibus for 25 yuan per person, which is the round-trip price. The round-trip time is no problem for three or four days. There are many accommodations, some of which are cheaper than booking online.

At the foot of Mount Qingcheng, traditional architecture is preserved, but the lifestyle is no longer so traditional. Things are very cheap.

By Jack |

The ancient town built at the foot of the back mountain of Qingcheng is called an ancient town, but it feels like just a bunch of shops dressed in ancient clothes and is rather ordinary.

By tiramisu |

A place you must pass by when climbing the back mountain of Qingcheng Mountain.

By Roxanne |

At the foot of the back mountain of Qingcheng Mountain, this is a must-go place if you want to climb the back mountain. Before entering the town, you will see an archway with Tai'an Ancient Town written on it. It looks like an antique. The buildings in the ancient town have basically been renovated, but they are restored to their original style. However, people walking inside still feel a strong modern commercial atmosphere. If the ancient town in your mind is a small bridge, flowing water, and people's homes, quiet and out of the world, this place may disappoint you. The buildings along the street are all stores, selling various souvenirs, restaurants, and teahouses. If you come down from the mountain to rest, you don't have to worry about not finding a suitable place here. It's a pity that I just want to feel the atmosphere of the ancient town, not the convenience of commercialization. In addition, there is an ancient temple in the ancient town, but you can tell from the appearance that it is totally renovated. It is an antique building of modern people. It is estimated that it is also very commercialized, so I didn't go in. Overall, I feel that this ancient town is not a special attraction worth visiting, but just a supporting scenic spot service point serving Qingcheng Mountain.

The Tai Chi street map of Tai'an Ancient Town is worth seeing. As for the specialty bacon, I have never eaten it, so I cannot comment on it.

It consists of some restaurants and shopping malls. You need to pass through here to go up the mountain. But you can still take a look.

It is an ancient town behind Qingcheng Mountain in Chengdu. It is a place that you must pass by when you visit Qingcheng Mountain. I didn’t do any strategy when I went to Qingcheng Mountain, so I didn’t know there was an ancient town here. I passed by along a road after entering the ticket gate. But it can be said that it was a surprise for us. I didn’t expect there was an ancient town. I still remember that we always wanted to eat a food at that time-beggar’s chicken. At that time, there was not so much money in our pockets, so we could only buy a chicken leg to eat. There are many delicious foods in the whole town, and there are many restaurants. You can feel the prosperity of an ancient town under Mount Hasan. Just like in ancient times, you had to go down the mountain to go to the market, and now tourists go to the market to fill their stomachs and prepare for going up the mountain. After visiting the ancient town, we went up the mountain along a road, haha!!!

Tai'an Ancient Town is the first scenic spot in the Back Mountain of Qingcheng. The ancient town is very quiet and full of the style of ancient towns in the mountainous villages of western Sichuan. It was called "Huaping Laoze Road" in ancient times. It was Weijiang Village in the Tang Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, the ancient Tai'an Temple behind the field was renamed Tai'an Field. It is an important transit town for material exchanges between Chengdu Maowen and Jinchuan. Merchants have always gathered here and the market is prosperous. The air here is fresh, there are clean streets and clear streams. There is also Tai'an Temple in the town where you can burn incense and pray. Many tourists who visit the Back Mountain of Qingcheng will stay here.

I didn't play here in detail because I had to climb the mountain, so I didn't stay here for long. After entering from the archway, there is a bridge on the right side of the small square. From this bridge, you will reach Feiquangou. If you want to go up the mountain from Wulonggou, there is a road on the left side of the square. Go forward along the road and cross a bridge to reach the mountain road of Wulonggou. There is a sightseeing bus on the road on the left side of the square that can go to the mountain of Wulonggou, but you really don't have to take it because it's not too far to walk. If you go down the mountain early, you can play here in Tai'an

By Yuan Xiaojiao |

Tai'an Ancient Town is in the scenic area of the back mountain of Qingcheng Mountain. Buy the ticket of Qingcheng Back Mountain, enter the scenic area and walk for one or two minutes to Tai'an Ancient Town. The ancient town is still very lively. You can see many restaurants and snacks when you enter. Basically, you can see food in the ancient town, such as potatoes, sausages, ribs, etc. There is nothing new. In the ancient town, there is basically nothing to do except eating and accommodation. The only special thing is the old bacon here. It looks shiny black and feels very delicious. 25 yuan per catty is a reasonable price. The taste is really good. Interested friends can buy some to try at home. There are also many kiwis and red plums to buy here. Although it is the origin of kiwis, I didn't find that the kiwis here are cheaper. The price is about the same as buying them at the fruit stalls in Chengdu. Some are even more expensive, so it is more cost-effective to buy them at home. There are two small ditches on both sides of the streets in the ancient town. The water in them all flows down from Mount Qingcheng. It looks very clear and cool. There are even restaurant owners who use a net to block the water and feed fish in it. They drink ice beer, which seems very smart. There is a very large ginkgo tree at the exit of the ancient town. It may be hundreds of years old. There is a temple next to it where you can burn incense and worship Buddha. There is a suspension bridge outside the ancient town. People like to shake when they walk on it, so you must hold on to the side, otherwise it will shake violently.

At the foot of Mount Qingcheng, the pickle jars in the ancient town of Tai'an are truly amazing. In the large glass jars, there are red erca tiao, plump white ginger, long-rooted bitter bamboo shoots, round kiwis... Next to them are shiny green wild vegetables, and on top are the unique Sichuan bacon. Great!

Tai'an Ancient Town is the first scenic spot on the back of Qingcheng Mountain. In ancient times, it was an important town that must be passed through when entering the Greater and Lesser Jinchuan from the Chengdu Plain. Now it is an ancient town with the style of western Sichuan folk houses. The commercial atmosphere here is not strong. There are no bookstores, KTVs and other modern entertainment. It is a real place for self-cultivation. In the "5.12" earthquake in 2008, the ancient town suffered serious damage. After restoration and reconstruction, the surviving three streets and two alleys are brand new. The ancient traditional carved attics are lined up one after another, and the clear springs flow along the small ditches on the left and right along the streets, accompanied by the bells of the ancient temple, which is intoxicating.
