Ganhaizi is an open meadow on the eastern foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and a large natural pasture.

Ganhaizi is an open meadow at the eastern foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and a large natural pasture, about 25 kilometers from Lijiang City. Originally an alpine lake, it later became known as "Dry Lake" by locals due to geological changes that widened its outlet.

In fact, the "Dry Lake" is not dry at all. It is surrounded by overlapping mountains and dense forests. The streams meander through the lake, and lush grass covers the ground like a velvet carpet. In summer and autumn, wildflowers dot the lake, and herds of cattle, sheep, mules and horses roam the land. In winter and spring, the lake turns a deep yellow, contrasting beautifully with the red leaves on the surrounding snow-capped mountains. Therefore, people gradually changed the name of the "Dry Lake" to "Gan Lake".

Ganhaizi offers the closest and best view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Here, you can see its thirteen peaks, arranged in a row from north to south. The majestic sight is captivating, the shimmering silver star in the sky particularly impressive, with the main peak, Fanzi, piercing the sky like an open fan, a breathtaking spectacle.

You can also see the snow-green glacier winding down above the snow line from a distance, and use a telescope to appreciate the modern glacial wonder of this "green peak".

Ganhaizi is a natural meadow pasture where we stayed for about an hour to take photos. Occasionally, yaks would leisurely pass by, which was a very beautiful scene.

My Yunnan Travel Notes: I'm Waiting for the Wind to Come - Yunnan Lijiang/Lugu Lake/Shangri-La Travel Notes http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/17066239.html

Near the No. 1 and No. 2 parking lots in the scenic area is "Ganhaizi". Many tourists may ignore this area, but on sunny days, it is very beautiful and the scenery is not inferior to Yunshanping.

Moreover, it was cloudy when we arrived at Yunshanping early in the morning, but it was sunny when we arrived at Ganhaizi. The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain against the blue sky was really beautiful! What's more, the good thing about Ganhaizi is that there are no fences on the lawn because there are not many tourists here, so the photos taken are also beautiful. There are some tourists sitting on the lawn to bask in the sun and have picnics, and some photographers take couples to take wedding photos here. I recommend friends who have plenty of time to walk around here and take more pictures.

Ganhaizi is near the Yulong Snow Mountain Visitor Center and is said to be the best place to take photos of Yulong Snow Mountain.

Ganhaizi is located at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain. It is a vast plateau meadow pasture. It was originally a beautiful lake under the snow mountain. Later, the lake dried up and formed a meadow, so it is also called "Ganhaizi".

In this season, what kind of scenery is relatively common? We simply marked it and prepared to go up the mountain.

By Cinderella |

It is a large meadow at the foot of the snow-capped mountains, with a large area of pine trees above it, and other vegetation and snow-capped mountains above it. It is super spectacular. In Ganhaizi, we can see the full view of the snow-capped mountains at the closest distance, and see its thirteen peaks spread out from south to north.

When we arrived at Ganhaizi, the altitude was already 3,000 meters, so try not to run around too much; the ultraviolet rays are very strong, so wear sunscreen; the wind is really strong, don’t ask me how I know, I feel cold just thinking about it.

Recommended playing time: half an hour

Recommendation index: 4 stars

If you want to leave something as a souvenir, there is a boundary marker here in Ganhaizi.

The view here is particularly good, it is open and you can see the beauty of the highest peak of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

Although there is no green grass in winter, the pines and cypresses are evergreen, so it doesn't look bleak at all.

By Panda@Wangzai |

Arriving at Ganhaizi, just over 3,000 meters above sea level, around 8:30 am, the sun had just crested the mountain, casting a golden glow on the distant snow. It was breathtakingly beautiful, and I was delighted to snap a few beautiful photos. The altitude sickness wasn't quite as noticeable yet, but it was still a bit, so I took a couple of puffs of compressed oxygen, which made me feel refreshed.

This place is far away from the ocean, so locals often refer to lakes as "Haizi". There are many lakes around Ganhaizi.

Ganhaizi is a grassland connected to a pine forest, with a panoramic view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which is very spectacular. It had just snowed two days ago, and you can see it from the foot of the mountain. Otherwise, it would look bare.

Ganhaizi offers the closest and best view of the entire Yulong Snow Mountain. From here, you can see its thirteen peaks, arrayed from north to south. The majestic spectacle is captivating, their silvery peaks gleaming in the sky. The main peak, Fanzidou, is particularly impressive, resembling an open fan, piercing the sky with awe-inspiring force. You can also gaze at the snow-green glaciers winding their way above the snow line. Use a telescope to admire this modern glacial wonder, a "green wonder peak."

Ganhaizi is a scenic spot on the way to Yulong Snow Mountain. It doesn't have much scenery, but the sun was shining brightly that day, which made me happy.

Standing at Ganhaizi, gazing at the azure sky and surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains, the feeling of comfort is truly refreshing. Ganhaizi is actually on the way to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Cableway that we took this morning, but our MINI group adjusted the morning itinerary to the afternoon to avoid peak hours, so that we could experience this beautiful scenery after visiting the snow-capped mountains and Blue Moon Valley.

The blue sky, white clouds, and the towering snow-capped mountains on the side are so beautiful...

It is a natural large pasture and an open meadow at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. No tickets are required.

By Hey ha ha |

On the way here, Ganhaizi looked like a flat and ordinary plain, but now, as I took photos and admired it, I thought it was a beautiful view. Although there were only a few seemingly ordinary flowers and trees, in the camera, with the snow-capped mountains in the background, it felt like a very open scene.

It is an alpine meadow where you can look back at the snow-capped mountains. However, perhaps because there are too many people, the grass has been damaged a lot, which is very sad to see.

By Matcha Mama |

Ganhaizi Scenic Area has a gently undulating terrain and is a large natural pasture. Due to the beautiful scenery, the car stopped for 5 minutes to take photos for everyone.

By red ant |

Ganhaizi is the first attraction upon entering the scenic area. It's an alpine meadow, perhaps named after a former lake that dried up and became a meadow. The yellow wildflowers scattered across the grounds, against the backdrop of distant snow-capped mountains and nearby trees, create a vibrant scene. Parking is available on the roadside, and further in is the scenic parking lot. You'll need to buy a 20-yuan direct bus to the scenic area, which takes you directly to the attractions.

By QLX🍅 |

Ganhaizi, one of the three major meadows of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, sits at an altitude of 3,050 meters. Originally a subalpine glacial lake, it later dried up due to rising snow levels and reduced water reserves, earning it the name "Ganhaizi." Ganhaizi's gently undulating terrain resembles a dormant tiger, while the main peak of the snow-capped mountain towers directly opposite, like a soaring dragon. It's a scene of crouching tigers, hidden dragons, and hidden dragons. Dense forests surround the foot of the mountain, with low pine trees dotting the plains. Yaks and sheep can be seen roaming among the greenery, creating a scene reminiscent of a highland pasture.

The first stop of the bikego snow mountain day trip is the airspace clearance zone. The drone was persuaded to land as soon as it took off.

By freezing point |

Ganhaizi is a natural meadow pasture with carpet-like grass, wide views, and a quiet and peaceful environment. Because the altitude is over 3,000 meters, the pine trees on the meadow generally do not grow tall, and from here you can look up at the distant view of the snow-capped mountains.

By Forest of Fireflies 1992 |

It was raining heavily, and not only did I fail to see the magnificent back of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, I couldn't even take a complete picture of the big rock "Ganhaizi". An endless stream of tourists took photos with it, leaving me no chance at all.

When entering the scenic area, you will first pass by Ganhaizi, an open meadow.

The mountains echoed with the sound of early morning birdsong, while the snow-capped peaks in the distance remained shrouded in a hazy veil. At some point, through the cracks in the window, I could smell the scent of fresh earth. Looking out, I saw herds of cattle and horses, and shrubs standing tall on the mountain ridges, making me want to embrace this natural grassland - Ganhaizi.

By Queen_Queen |

I felt like there wasn’t much to see in Ganhaizi, so I took a quick photo to say I’d been there and then quickly got in the car to warm up.

After lunch, we boarded our guide, Ajie's car, and departed the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area, stopping at Ganhaizi. Located at the eastern foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Ganhaizi was originally a high mountain glacial lake. Later, due to rising snow levels, the lake's water content decreased and eventually dried up, leaving it a plateau meadow surrounded by mountains on three sides. The entire meadow is approximately 4 kilometers long and 1.5 kilometers wide. From Ganhaizi, you can enjoy a wider view of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which stretches like a giant dragon.

By Noah's Ark |

Ganhaizi is the closest and best place to view the entirety of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. From here, you can see its thirteen peaks, arranged in a row from north to south. The majestic spectacle is captivating, the main peak, Fanzi, piercing the sky like an open fan, a breathtaking spectacle. You can also gaze at the snow-green glaciers winding their way above the snow line.

By Insomnia Dream Pilot |

In fact, it is also called "Dry Lake". It is located at the foot of the southern section of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The snow water from the glacier and the surrounding runoff converge here to form a lake. Due to the infiltration of lake water into the ground and evaporation, it becomes a dry depression without water, hence the name. The plants in the branch are mainly Yunnan pine forests.

By noob |

Ganhaizi is a dried-up lake. It is said that you can see the whole view of Yulong Snow Mountain, but it seems that it is not possible. However, you can see the obvious vertical distribution of plants, the change from broad-leaved forest to coniferous forest.

By Chino |

Ganhaizi is a natural alpine meadow formed by the drying of a glacial lake on Lijiang's Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Before development, it was a natural pasture for the surrounding Yi and Tibetan ethnic groups. Ganhaizi offers the closest and best view of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. From here, you can see its thirteen peaks lined up from north to south.

Ganhaizi is a free tourist attraction at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. It cannot be said to be a tourist attraction, but the viewing angle here is very good. It does not take too much time to visit here, and you can just stop when passing by.

This is a must-see attraction on the way. It is actually a forest and meadow under the snow-capped mountains. Generally speaking, the view is quite open.

By LaFeeDuuu |

Ganhaizi! Oh my god, I was completely blown away! The mountains, the scenery, the clouds, the fog—it was like a fairyland on earth, a paradise on earth, like the last piece of pure land in the world. Your wandering soul will be quieted, and your heart will be purified, just like a newborn baby, pure and flawless.

By The donkey that has been unloaded |

Upon entering the scenic area, everyone first arrives at Ganhaizi, from where you can overlook Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. A dry expanse of loess loess looms before you, while the distant snow-capped mountains tower over you like a wall, creating a sense of vastness and weight. The white clouds lingering on the mountaintops, against the backdrop of azure sky, add a touch of beauty. Such a scene is hard not to be divine. Ganhaizi is within the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area, so you must enter the area. The entrance fee is 130 yuan, and those over 60 are free. People usually take a 20-minute photo break while gazing at the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from afar.

A place where we got off the car for a while, adjusted to the altitude, and took some time to commemorate the place. It didn't leave any special impression, but it was spacious. They sold knee pads (the kind that cover half the calf with woolen pants and gloves) at reasonable prices.

Ganhaizi is a pasture at an altitude of over 3,000 meters, located within the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area. In March, there was no grass growing here, and there were few animals. Near the snow-capped mountains, there was a large area of shrubs. This relatively open area was a great place to take panoramic photos of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

Ganhaizi is actually located at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. It is a large natural pasture and an open meadow. The transportation to the area is not very convenient.

The driver of the China-TravelNote suddenly stopped by the roadside and asked us to wait until 8:09. What a surprise! We watched the sunrise slowly light up on the snow-capped mountains. This feeling is still imprinted in my mind.

I was just passing by, but even a fleeting glimpse was captivating. A vast meadow, dotted with small trees and a variety of unknown yellow wildflowers. In the distance, snow-capped mountains shrouded in mist. A road stretched from the distance to the horizon, bisecting the meadow. The wind was strong, but I couldn't contain my excitement. I lingered for a moment; it was truly beautiful.

Ganhaizi is also a plateau meadow at the foot of the snow-capped mountains. It is also a very good place to take photos of the snow-capped mountains. Unlike Yunshanping, it is located on the two sides of the snow-capped mountains, and the scenery is different.

Ganhaizi is very ordinary, with just a big rock to take pictures, and a large lawn with a few trees behind it. The driver said it was nothing special and gave us 10 minutes to take pictures, which was enough.

The only way to reach Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is through a wide plain where you can look up at Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. It is also a great spot for taking photos.

Personally, I think the scenery is pretty good, but the wind is a bit cold in the morning, so you still need to wear more clothes before going.

I returned to Ganhaizi at 3pm. If the weather was fine, I could see the huge thirteen peaks of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from afar. Unfortunately, today... it was completely covered by dark clouds. (Ganhaizi is now a tourist distribution center, where tour groups gather.)

Ganhaizi is a natural meadow pasture with gently undulating terrain. The vast meadows are dotted with low-lying pine trees. Beneath the rolling grasslands, shaded by trees and grass, yaks occasionally pass by, creating a scene reminiscent of a highland pasture. Set against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains, it's an ideal spot for scenic viewing and photography. Every spring, as flowers bloom and grass sprouts, the Tibetan, Yi, and Naxi herders who inhabit the mountain streams surrounding Ganhaizi pack their felt tents and ride their majestic horses, herding yaks, sheep, and cattle to graze on the meadows. From the Ganhaizi meadows to the 4,500-meter snow line, a diverse array of flowers and trees can be seen, including orchids, wild peonies, and snow lotuses. Tall trees include Yunnan pine, cedar, fir, thorny chestnut, and chestnut.

The performance of Impression Lijiang was quite impressive. It was divided into six parts: "Horse Caravan on the Ancient Road", "Drinking on Snow Mountain", "Heaven on Earth", "Dance Song", "Drumming and Heaven Worship", and "Blessing Ceremony". The most impressive part was the farewell scene with the theme song "Going Home", which was quite touching.

By To pamper me |

This is the legendary "Ganhaizi". Alas, it's not as good as I imagined. Where are the cattle and sheep visible when the wind blows the grass? Maybe it's the wrong season for us to go? Anyway, I didn't see any~

Arriving at the end of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the sun shines on the snow mountain early in the morning, and the sun shines on the golden mountain.

By Elk |

It seems that it was just like this. That morning, the clouds just disappeared and the scenery was beautiful. The snow-capped mountains also appeared. And then it seemed that there was nothing else.

By Gabriel |

Of course, you have to stop by to take a souvenir after passing by Yulong Snow Mountain. If the weather is fine and you are lucky, you can enjoy the alpine meadow scenery with the snow-capped mountains as the background. The introduction also allows you to learn about the origin of Ganhaizi, which is quite interesting and not to be missed.

By Mssharon |

On the way back down the mountain, we passed Ganhaizi, where wild goats and yaks were grazing all over the mountain. The tour guide said that there were many precious medicinal herbs on the mountain that could be picked here. Animals and plants coexisted peacefully, forming a good ecological natural environment system.

By G&M |

Ganhaizi is a large ranch with emerald green carpet-like lawns, vast blue sky and white clouds, and vibrant wildflowers on the ground. Everything is so beautiful.
