Jiulong Waterfalls

There are two ways to get to Jiulong Waterfall from Luoping, one is to go through Jinjiling to Xingyi, the other is to go to Luositian. The distance is about the same, the former leads to the front gate (east gate) of Jiulong Waterfall, and the latter goes up the mountain and first reaches the back gate (west gate) of the scenic area.



The Jiulong Waterfall Group Scenic Area has two gates, the east gate is at the bottom of the mountain, and the west gate is on the mountain. There is a road connecting the two gates outside the scenic area, and there are private cars soliciting passengers.

If you want to walk less, you can take a bus to the west gate to enter the scenic area, walk downhill along the waterfall river, and exit from the east gate.



There is a cable car in the scenic area. It should be noted that taking the cable car does not necessarily mean you can walk less. The cable car leads to a separate observation deck, which just provides an additional view and allows you to see the panoramic view of the waterfalls.



If you want to take the cable car to the observation deck, you can also enter through the East Gate, walk a short distance to the cable car observation deck, and then walk down from the observation deck. You will have reached the Shenlong Waterfall. You can walk a little further (no need to go to the West Gate) to the Lover's Waterfall and then walk down to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.



I entered from the east gate, walked the whole way, and walked up and down the viewing platform, but did not walk to the west gate. It took about 2 hours.

Entering the scenic area, the first attraction is Yingbin Waterfall, which is actually the downstream of Jiulong Waterfall.

The scenic area is not big. If you walk counterclockwise, you will soon reach the core scenic area - Shenlong Waterfall.

The Shenlong Waterfall is right in front of us, and looks like a smaller version of the Detian Waterfall in Chongzuo, Guangxi.

There is a bamboo raft under the waterfall for tourists to play, which costs 15 yuan per person. The woodcutter will row the bamboo raft directly under the waterfall so that tourists can get wet.

There is a waterfall group in Luoping. In the several-kilometer-long river, due to the unique geological structure and long-term erosion of water flow, a group of ten waterfalls of different heights, widths and shapes are formed, with a drop of more than 100 meters. There are countless shallows and deep pools between the waterfalls. The waterfalls of different sizes are either fine streams dancing in the wind or thundering down like a river from the sky, each showing its own beauty. Among them, the most spectacular Shenlong Waterfall is 100 meters wide and tens of meters high. It is magnificent and spectacular, known as the "First Waterfall of Jiulong". This is the Jiulong Waterfall Group, which was once selected as one of the "Most Beautiful Waterfalls in China" by China Geographic Magazine.

From the top of the West Gate Mountain in the scenic area, walk down along the waterfall. There are ten levels of waterfalls in Luoping. Along this clear stream, they turn into layers of waterfalls. Each waterfall has a small lake. If you take an aerial photo, you will find that the Jiulong Waterfall Group not only has more than ten layers of waterfalls, but also more than ten layers of clear lakes. The vegetation on both sides of the waterfall is dense and lush. The mountains embrace the terraced lake, layer upon layer. The lake gave birth to the waterfall, a white curtain of water, singing and flowing down the ten-meter ridge, and then rushing down the hundred-meter cliff.

We entered the scenic area at 4:30 pm. There was no one along the way. Have you ever been to a deserted park? It was so quiet that you could hear the wind. The only sounds you could hear were the stream, the wind, and the chirping of birds. You were the only one in all the best photo spots. No one was there to take photos with you, which made you feel very lonely.

Speaking of Jiulong Waterfall, not many people know about it. Jiulong Waterfall was rated as one of the six most beautiful waterfalls in China in the "Beauty China" special issue of "National Geographic China" magazine in October 2005, and is known as the world's most beautiful waterfall along with the well-known Huangguoshu Waterfall in Guizhou and Detian Waterfall in Guangxi. Looking at the photos of Jiulong Waterfall taken in the special issue, it is red. Is it red or blue? We visited Jiulong Waterfall from the upstream entrance, walked through the entire scenic area, and exited from the downstream exit. We walked carefully along the stone steps to the bottom of the valley. We saw lush vegetation on both sides of the stone steps. We could only hear the "booming" sound of the waterfall, but we could not see it. We didn't walk far along the trail until we arrived at the bottom of the valley. The first thing that caught our eyes was the "Shilong Wandering Waterfall". We also saw with our own eyes that Jiulong Waterfall is not all red. What we saw was green! Near the Shilin Wandering Waterfall is the very spectacular "Lover's Waterfall". The Lover's Waterfall has a drop of more than 50 meters and a width of more than 70 meters. The waterfall was not clearly photographed due to the heavy fog and the condensation of water droplets on the camera lens. Below the big waterfall is a small waterfall. The sightseeing trail extends along the Jiulong River. The river from the Lover's Waterfall to the downstream Shenlong Waterfall is relatively flat. We walked from the back door from high to low, which is labor-saving to walk downhill; at the same time, it is inconvenient to take a car from the back door.

........Luoping Jiulong Waterfall Group is located on the Jiulong River 20km northeast of Luoping County, Qujing City. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. Due to the geological structure and the erosion of water flow for thousands of years, ten waterfalls of different heights, widths and shapes have been formed here. Among them, Shenlong Waterfall is 120 meters wide and 72 meters high. It falls layer by layer with magnificent momentum and is spectacular. It is known as the "No. 1 Waterfall in Jiulong". Jiulong Waterfall Group has its unique viewing characteristics due to its numerous waterfalls and dense scenic spots. It has beautiful scenery all year round and is known as "Ten Waterfalls in Jiulong, a unique one in the south".

There are intercity buses between Qujing Express Bus Station and Luoping North Bus Station (west of Luoping Station) (30 yuan/person, 2 hours, 30 minutes/trip, 7:00-18:00; they depart on holidays and leave when they are full); 2. There are rural passenger buses to Jiulong Waterfalls at Luoping North Bus Station (10 yuan/person at the west gate and 15 yuan/person at the east gate, 30 minutes by car, the outbound trip only goes to the west gate of the scenic spot, and the return trip goes to the east gate of the scenic spot to pick up passengers. ........Take a taxi from Luoping city to Luoping North Bus Station in the morning, take the bus that leaves at 9:00 and arrives at the west gate of the scenic area at 9:30, exchange your ticket at the ticket office and enter the scenic area, go south through the rapeseed field for 500 meters to the river on the east side of the Lover's Waterfall, admire the Lover's Waterfall and the adjacent Shilong Wandering Waterfall on the east side, then go northeast along the river for 500 meters to the Shenlong Waterfall fork, from then on go northeast to the panoramic waterfall viewing platform to meet returning tourists (there are fences on the road under construction); after returning to admire the Shenlong Waterfall, go east along the river, pass the Moon Viewing Bridge, go around to the south side of the river, and then continue east to Buyi Square, pass the exit gate to the small square at the east gate of the scenic area, and wait for the bus back to Luoping North Bus Station; the whole track is 2.9km and it takes 1 hour and 45 minutes.

We headed to the Jiulong Waterfall in Luoping, 235 kilometers away. Along the way, we could see rapeseed flowers all over the mountains. When we arrived at the Jiulong Waterfall, we found out that the scenic area had been closed for construction for a year. The first attraction on the self-driving loop was "closed", and we could only take a picture of the distant view!

But I can understand that at least I saved 95 yuan in ticket fees, so I have to leave you some regrets! I can find a reason to visit again next time!

The locals have always called it "Da Die Shui", but the new place name is more impressive, so people have become accustomed to calling it "Jiulong Waterfall". The first sight after entering the scenic area, I saw a field that looked a bit like a screw field. Tourists passing by stopped to marvel and carefully chose angles to take pictures. The advantage of entering the scenic area from the west gate is that the trail goes downhill slowly all the way, and happiness is ahead. The first waterfall passed by is Baixu Waterfall, which is very far from the viewing plank road and is hidden in a green rapeseed. If you are not careful, it is easy to miss it. The second is the Lover's Waterfall. Broad and majestic? Gentle and varied? The third is the Shilong Wandering Waterfall, which has a small drop and is easy to miss if you are not careful. Go down a few more steps, and the Shilong Wandering Waterfall will evolve into this big and small pearls falling into the jade pool. Continue to walk along the sightseeing plank road, and you can hear the loud noise of water flowing down from a distance. That should be the Shenlong Waterfall, the "First Waterfall of Jiulong"! Standing in front of the waterfall viewing railing, the Shenlong Waterfall is more than 100 meters wide and has a drop of more than 70 meters. It is extremely spectacular! It really looks like a dragon falling from the sky, with flying flowers and broken jade all the way, unstoppable! The waterfall in our mind should be like the Shenlong Waterfall, "flying down three thousand feet, it seems like the Milky Way falling from the sky"! Who can be more exaggerated than the immortal poet? ! More concise? ! More imaginative? ! In the clear water under the Shenlong Waterfall, there are several bamboo rafts. The boatmen sit on the rafts, waiting for tourists who want to row on the blue waves, and take them to listen to the roar of the Shenlong Waterfall more closely!

Jiulong Waterfall has an east gate and a west gate. The east gate is at the foot of the mountain. It is recommended to enter from the west gate. If you are traveling by car, you can park your car at the west gate and then take a car up the mountain from the east gate to the west gate.



Note: The car is not from the scenic area, but a private car from outside. The price is 20 yuan per person. You can bargain with them and try to get a lower price.



The advantage of the west gate is that it is effortless and you can go down the mountain all the way. If you are traveling with the elderly, you can choose this road. It is faster to go down the mountain and you can reach the Shenlong Waterfall in about an hour.



There is also a cable car in the scenic area, which takes you up to an observation deck to overlook the entire Jiulong Waterfall.

The Jiulong Waterfall scenic area is not very big. There are several levels from top to bottom. You can walk up from the bottom and then return the same way. Half a day is enough to complete it. In terms of transportation, if there are many people, you can directly charter a car from the bus station. If there are few people, you have to wait for people at the bus station.

It is a place worth visiting near Qujing. Although the scenery is greatly reduced during the dry season, you can still see its beauty. The scenery must be more beautiful during the flood season. It is still worth visiting. It’s just that the transportation is a little far from Qujing, but it is still enough for a round trip on the same day.

It is a national 4A scenic spot. On the river channel about 2 kilometers long, there are 10 waterfalls of different sizes with different characteristics. The best route to visit Jiulong Waterfall is to enter from the west gate and exit from the east gate. You can save a lot of energy by walking down the steps from the west gate. After exiting the east gate, take a private car for 10 yuan per person back to the west gate to pick up the car. Walking down the way, various waterfalls come one after another. At first glance, it looks a bit like Jiuzhaigou. The steps are not too steep, and Xiong Baoer didn't feel too tired to walk all the way down. The scenic area is not big, and we came out after playing for about two hours.

Jiulong Waterfalls: Ticket price is 65 yuan per person, and the tour takes about 2-3 hours. The scenery is nice, but I almost missed it. I originally planned to visit this attraction, but I met a senior tourist in Wanfenglin yesterday. According to him, Jiulong is not interesting. After that, I hesitated. This morning, I decided to go there even if it is not fun, so as not to leave any regrets. After a tour, it is indeed extraordinary. Park the car at the east gate of the scenic area, take a black car for 10 yuan per person from the east gate to the west gate, and enter the scenic area from the west gate. This way, you walk down from the highest point of the scenic area (west gate), and exit from the lowest point (east gate) after the tour, all the way downhill, saving energy.

I took a taxi from Luoping County to the west gate of Jiulong Waterfall Scenic Area, which cost 90 yuan. When I came back, I took a small bus from the east gate of the scenic area to Luoping for 15 yuan per person. The scenic area ticket cost 65 yuan, and the cable car cost 30 yuan one way. The water in the waterfall is not very full now, but the water is clear. There are few people in the scenic area now, and it is very quiet.

The water is small and there are few people (is it a unity of contradictions?). It's okay to visit it on the way, but it's not worth going there on purpose.

The Jiulong Waterfalls are located 22 kilometers north of Luoping County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province. They are known as "Nine Dragons and Ten Waterfalls, a unique sight in the South".

The ticket was 65 yuan per person. It took 3 hours to walk around from the east gate, including time for rest and taking photos. The scenery is charming, and the Jiulong Ten Waterfalls are worth seeing.

Luoping Jiulong Waterfall Group is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, located 22 kilometers north of Luoping County, Yunnan Province. The Jiulong Waterfalls are majestic because of their cramped environment, and the Jinji Peaks are graceful and extensive because of their openness. Luoping County alone has two landscapes selected as the most beautiful in China, and they live up to their reputations.

It feels pretty good. Tips: The ticket is 65 yuan. Park the car at the east gate of the scenic area. Spend 15 or 20 yuan per person to take a bus to the west gate, which takes about 10 minutes. From the west gate, drive to the east gate exit.

At about 10:30, the car arrived at the entrance of Jiulong Waterfall Scenic Area. Because I felt a little cold, I borrowed a long coat, long johns and a sweater from the police station. After coming out, I bought the ticket online under the sign to enter the scenic area.

The get-off point is the west gate of Jiulong Waterfall. After entering, it is all downhill. When passing Shenlong Waterfall, there will be a viewing platform on a small road. There are rock walls along the way, some of which extend above the stairs and are printed with slogans such as "Beware of falling rocks."

There is a cable car at the observation deck, but it is not open because it is off-season.

After coming down from the observation deck, I walked a little further east. I met very few people along the way and felt like I was finally away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Actually, I could have gone out directly from the east gate, but when I came, the minibus driver said that there were fewer people in the off-season and asked me to go back and wait for him, so I climbed the stairs back to the west gate.

A nice waterfall, but it takes some energy to reach the top of the mountain to take panoramic photos!

The beautiful nine-layer waterfall is not large in scale but has various shapes. It looks different when viewed from the observation deck and from a lower place. This waterfall was also included in the China National Geographic Beauty Pageant that year.

Although the waterfall has a small amount of water, it is still majestic. It is recommended to view it from high to low. The viewing platform needs to be climbed high, but it is definitely worth it.

For those who drive there by themselves, it is strongly recommended that you drive to the East Gate, then take a bus to the West Gate and then go down the mountain to the East Gate. Otherwise, you can only go back the same way to get the car.

The scenic area is quite large, and you can see several waterfalls at once by walking from high to low, but you need to go out from another gate, buy another ticket and return to the original gate to pick up the car.

Since we were traveling from top to bottom, we were not tired at all, but it took us nearly 4 hours, mainly for taking photos. The overall design of the Jiulong Waterfalls Scenic Area is very problematic. Most of the viewing platforms are blocked by objects. At the same time, there is no cable car that runs through the entire route from the East Gate to the West Gate, and the tour experience is very unpleasant.

The original ticket price is 95 yuan, but during the Spring Festival, it is 20% off, 76 yuan. It takes about 40 minutes to walk from the scenic area to the observation deck on the top of the mountain, and it only takes a few minutes to take the cable car up the mountain. A one-way cable car ticket costs 30 yuan.

Walking up to the viewing platform, the majestic Jiulong Waterfall immediately comes into view between the green mountains and green waters. Pieces of white silk rush down and fall into the pool, condensing into a pool of emerald green. The Jiulong River flows quietly in the valley. Going down the steps from the viewing platform, you can get in close contact with the waterfall.

Jiulong Waterfall has ten levels, of varying sizes and shapes, one above the other. The largest level is more than 100 meters wide and 50 meters high. It rushes down, the sound of water is like thunder, and the mist rises, turning into colorful clouds under the sun. Although compared with Detian Waterfall, Huangguoshu Waterfall, and Hukou Waterfall of the Yellow River, Jiulong Waterfall is slightly inferior in momentum, but it is better in various shapes and clear water. But in general, the 76 yuan ticket plus the 30 yuan cable car fee is still too expensive.

There are still a lot of people visiting the scenic spot during the Spring Festival. The parking fee at the entrance of the scenic spot is 20 yuan, which is still a bit of a pitfall, and there are a lot of people soliciting customers at the entrance, who can take you to the west gate, 50 yuan per person, which is still a bit expensive.

The entire scenic area is along the river. There are viewing plank roads on both sides of the river, forming a nine-level waterfall group. Although the scenic area is not very large, if you enter from the east gate, it is basically uphill all the way, which is a test of physical strength. After the tour, you have to return to the original route and pick up the car at the east gate. Therefore, friends who are not short of money can take a car from the east gate to the west gate, and then go down the mountain from the west gate for sightseeing, and then pick up the car and leave after the tour. This saves physical strength and shortens the distance.

I bought a ticket at the ticket office of the scenic spot for 76 yuan per person, which is cheaper than the publicly announced price. However, it was paid through WeChat and the payee was an individual, so I don’t know if there is some mystery.

The first waterfall when you enter the scenic area is Bi Ri Tan. It is very low, not even as high as a person, and it is on the side of the road. There is no viewing platform and nothing to see, so you can just ignore it. Further ahead is Yingbin Waterfall, which can be seen from the song and dance performance venue. After Yingbin Waterfall, the mountain climbing section begins, and you can go up along the plank road on the right. There is also the famous "First Waterfall of Kowloon" - Shenlong Waterfall, which is the most spectacular among the Kowloon Waterfalls. Unfortunately, the waterfall is also slightly weaker during the dry season.

We stayed in the scenic area for about 3.5 hours, which was quite a thorough tour.

The scenery is OK. The correct way to open it is to enter from the west gate on the top of the mountain. I spent a few dollars to buy a wreath for a local old lady to wear for photos. It takes only 1.5 hours to walk down the mountain to see multiple waterfalls. The trees beside the trail need to be trimmed, and you can't see the waterfalls from the side. The road from the foot of the mountain to the gate is cool and comfortable, which is very good. I saw all the nearby waterfalls. If Huangguoshu is 100 points, Luoping Jiulong (a water source forms 10 waterfalls after multiple drops) and Xingyi Maling River (multiple waterfalls in the canyon) are about 80 points. If you have time, go and see them all.

Going down the mountain steps, there are waterfalls all along the way. From the 60-meter-high Lover's Waterfall to the 100-meter-wide waterfall ladder. From the 80-meter-high Shenlong Waterfall, after reaching the flat land through terraces, you can see the overlapping water. The roar is like a galloping horse. I just took photos under the clear sky, and then it rained heavily in a blink of an eye. The mountains and rivers are magnificent, and it is difficult to express in poems at this moment~

It is a mature scenic spot. After entering the scenic spot, you can walk along the cement road for about an hour to reach the highest mountaintop viewing platform, where you can overlook the panoramic view of the waterfall group. However, the water flow is not very large in the winter dry season, so it is not very shocking. Generally, many tourists do not continue to walk up, but stop at the viewing platform under the waterfall to take pictures. If it is the flood season, it is still worth a visit.

The scenery is average~ The waterfall is beautiful but it doesn't feel special compared to other waterfalls~~

The scenery is great. Although the waterfall is not as big as the Huangguoshu one, it is a group of waterfalls, and the rape flowers also add a lot of color.

The appearance is just average! The service is too little! It's hard to find food!

Due to the traffic jam and the fact that we started in the afternoon, we arrived at Jiulong Waterfall at around 4pm. We went all the way to Jiulong Waterfall, but we didn't buy a ticket to go in and see it. The ticket price was 60 yuan.

Jiulongtan is the only attraction on this trip that requires tickets. The ticket is 90 yuan, and it is 50 yuan in the off-season.

Jiulongtan Waterfall was rated as the fourth of the six most beautiful waterfalls in China by China National Geographic. The waterfall has three layers. It is the dry season now, so the water is not strong. It should be spectacular in spring.

The view is great!!! The exit is a bit tricky. We walked to the top of the mountain and were almost exhausted. I don't know about the other exit.

It's not worth the price. Many of the viewpoints upstream are blocked by trees. Instead of building such a long viewpoint, it's really annoying to see helicopters flying over the waterfall.

The scale, momentum and landscape of Jiulong Waterfall are comparable to those of Huangguoshu Waterfall, but the density of scenic spots is far greater than that of Huangguoshu Waterfall. The travel notes provide detailed introductions and strategies.

The several waterfalls are quite beautiful, but the scenic spot is rather stingy. The places where you can see the waterfalls on the surrounding mountain roads are blocked, and the ticket to the scenic spot is 95, which is a bit expensive.

After reading the guide, I felt that Jiulong Waterfall was just so-so, and in the dry season of winter, it lacked the momentum of a waterfall rushing down and splashing water. But after entering, I found it was not bad, with the background of flowers, a little pastoral, a little literary, and a little paradise.

The amount of water is okay. There are few waterfalls in the north, so it still feels impressive.

During the dry season, the water is not so clear. It is said that the water is clear in June, July and August.

We started our tour from the back mountain and went down all the way. The first thing we saw was a terraced field of rapeseed flowers, which you can see as soon as you enter the door. The last group of waterfalls we saw (it is the first thing you see when you enter from the front door) is what I personally think is the essence of the entire Jiulong Waterfall Group. It is very beautiful. It's a pity that it was the dry season when we went there, so the water volume was small, otherwise it would be more spectacular and well worth seeing.

There is a scenic parking lot near the West Gate of the scenic area, which is 10 yuan for free parking; there are also many private parking lots nearby, and private parking lots are 20 yuan for free parking. The overall design of the Jiulong Waterfall Group Scenic Area is very problematic. Most of the viewing platforms have obstructions. At the same time, there is no cable car that runs through the entire journey from the East Gate to the West Gate. The tour experience is very bad. As for the scenery, there are only two places that I think are pretty good, one is the location near the West Gate, and the other is the Shenlong Waterfall Observation Deck. After climbing up the Shenlong Waterfall Observation Deck, my wife said that she couldn't walk anymore. After asking about the lower half of the scenic area, there was basically nothing to see. We took the only short-distance cable car in the scenic area and went directly down to the bottom of the mountain, and decisively left the scenic area! Compared to the almost free Luositian and Jinji Peak, the Jiulong Waterfall Group is not very cost-effective. It can only be regarded as a sight to behold, and it is not worth the ticket price at all. . . . We took the cable car directly down the mountain from the observation deck. The location of the cable car is about 2 kilometers away from the west gate. During the entire scenic area, I saw many vendors selling white radishes, peeling them and eating them directly. . . . I bought one out of curiosity to try it. Well, it tasted like radish except that it was not so spicy. . . .

The ticket price of 95 yuan is a bit expensive. The scenery inside is OK.

If you are going to Jiulong Waterfall by car recently, you can choose to go from Banqiao.
