Just finished Lijiang-Blue Moon Valley. There are several lakes here. The best one is Blue Moon Valley. The water is very abundant and blue, and clear enough to see the bottom. Many people come here to take wedding photos. It is very beautiful. Seeing them blend with the scenery makes me believe that every love of theirs is touching. The background is set against the snow-capped mountains, white clouds and blue sky. Only such scenery can retain their love when they got married.

The eternal ice and snow from the snow-capped mountains and glaciers melt and flow down the cliffs, constantly gathering into mountain streams and creeks.

Eventually, a clear and sweet river formed in the deep valley upstream of Blue Moon Valley.

Because the riverbed is made of white limestone, the entire river water appears white and extremely pure, hence the name "White Water River".

There are four small lakes in the Blue Moon Valley. I don't remember their names. There is a Blue Moon Lake and a Jade Liquid Lake, right? The four small lakes are not on the same level, but are staggered in height, forming large and small waterfalls and streams.

However, these small "waterfalls", like the flowing water in the "Xiaoqikong" scenic area in Libo, Guizhou, do not have much momentum and are just for the sake of scenery.

Last night I listened to the advice of the barbecue restaurant owner and came to the Snow Mountain Scenic Area early this morning wearing a down jacket.

It was almost noon, and when I was cruising around the Blue Moon Valley before going up the snow mountain, it was already very hot. When I first came in, I saw many people wearing the same long red down jackets. I thought they were staff members of the scenic area, but later I realized that they must be coats temporarily rented by tourists from the scenic area.

This situation is very common, so I didn't take it seriously.

It wasn't until a cry of surprise came from the Blue Moon Lake that it caught my attention:

Because of the sudden rise in temperature, one family member took off the down coat they rented and placed it on the wooden viewing platform, and then took a photo with their family. Suddenly, a strange wind blew, and the down coat was blown into the lake in an instant.

The family lay on the lakeside and tried in vain to fish out the coat. Most of the tourists around were in a state of mind to make fun of it, and I was embarrassed to try so hard.

Later, I heard from the tourists around me that the deposit for this coat was 500 yuan, and for two coats it was 1,000 yuan, and that was it…

I certainly didn’t care about other tourists’ cotton-padded jackets. I just felt very upset that I couldn’t take off my drone because the wind was too strong! Later I contacted my friend in Beijing, who replied: Let alone my portable “Xiao” drone, even the semi-professional DJI Phantom with good wind resistance, you can’t fly it in such a strong wind.

As soon as we got on the eco-friendly car, I saw several yaks grazing leisurely on a lawn after driving a few hundred meters. The car climbed up a slope and turned to the side. My mother was the first to notice that there was a emerald lake outside the car window next to her. This should be the "Blue Moon Valley".

If you look closely, you will find that there are amber-like trees growing in the lake. I infer that there may have been a forest here, but it was covered by snow and water.

You can see the scenery of Blue Moon Valley at a glance, and you don't have to take a sightseeing bus. Ask the staff at the service center for directions. It's actually the way the bus came. Go back the same way. After about 700-800 meters, there will be a small path on the right hand side going down. Follow the path down to Blue Moon Valley. The water in Blue Moon Valley is a little glowing blue, which is a bit special.

The water in Lugu Lake is very clear, but it doesn’t have the luminous feeling like the water in Blue Moon Valley.

1. There are electric cars in the scenic area, and the ticket price is 50 yuan per person, but you really don’t need to take the electric car. The four lakes are next to each other. You can walk and stop along the way, play, and take pictures, which will take an hour and a half.

2. There is a bus stop about halfway through the Blue Moon Valley, where you can take the scenic bus down the mountain; if you buy a battery car ticket, you can take the bus at the end of the battery car; in addition, there are local villagers who use their own cars to pick up passengers, 20 yuan per person, and it seems that you can go to the ancient city~

We walked upstream for a tour, and were amazed by the blue water as soon as we got off the bus! We took a lot of photos like we had never seen the world, thinking that this was all there was.

Unexpectedly, as we continued walking forward, the puddle of water in the jade liquid pot became even more blue as a mirror, just like a piece of blue water jade. It was so beautiful that everyone exclaimed... in amazement.

The tour of Baishuigou and Blue Moon Valley ends. There are two options: one is to return by the original route, and the other is to take the scenic area battery car, which takes less than 20 minutes. I personally don’t think it’s necessary to spend this money, of course, the rich can do whatever they want. There is a very affordable fast food restaurant at the waiting area for the Blue Moon Valley scenic area bus, where you can fill your stomach.

We arrived at Blue Moon Valley at about 10:45. There are battery-powered convertibles there for 50 yuan per person. It is not recommended. You can see the beautiful scenery along the entire Blue Moon Valley. We agreed to meet at 12 o'clock and then dispersed. The water in Blue Moon Valley is crystal clear, like agate with a crystal blue-green light. The water is gurgling and trickling. Being in it is refreshing. Behind the lake is the snow-capped mountain. The transparent blue and the snow are probably the most beautiful combination. At first glance, it seems as if the eyes are in love. The further you go, the more beautiful the scenery is. Don't stick to taking pictures in crowded places.

You can find a best location to see the snow-capped mountains, the reflections in the lake, the plants floating in the water, and the sunlight shining on the lake, sparkling like stars, just like you blinking your eyes.

The Blue Moon Valley is formed by the confluence of the glacier meltwater of Yulong Snow Mountain and the Baishui River. The water is rich in copper ions, which makes it appear blue. It is mainly composed of four lakes - Yuye Lake, Jingtan Lake, Blue Moon Lake and Tingtao Lake. On cloudy days, the scenery of Blue Moon Valley is really much worse. I don’t know if the sky here is still as blue in summer, but it is indeed very pure here in winter. The snow-capped mountains in the distance are reflected in the lake, and it is so beautiful that it cannot be described in any words!

I chartered a car to go there on my own... I was stunned the moment I saw the Blue Moon Valley. The blue Yuye Lake was like the azure waters of the Maldives... It was breathtaking! I was pleasantly surprised as I had not had much hope for some domestic attractions. I had seen many scenic spots before, but nothing left a deep impression on me. The Blue Moon Valley under the snow-capped mountains is a place that I will stay in for the rest of my life... (The only regret was that there were too many group tourists, which was a little noisy.)

The Blue Moon Valley consists of four lakes, which are Tingtao Lake, Blue Moon Lake, Jingtan Lake and Yuye Lake in the direction of the snow-capped mountains.

Of the four lakes, you can walk around the first three lakes, that is, go to the other side. Since the sun is also on the other side, the water and sky will be bluer when you look back from that side.

At around 4pm, the sun was setting, and the light could even hit the shady slope on the opposite bank from the side. I think this scenery is comparable to Jiuzhaigou.

My psychological expectation for Blue Moon Valley was that it should be like a fairyland. Maybe it was because I had just returned from Lugu Lake, so it seemed much inferior in comparison.

Lugu Lake is like a sapphire inlaid between the mountains, and what about Blue Moon Valley?

Apart from the gradient colour of the water, there doesn't seem to be anything special, maybe it's the wrong season.

But the biggest advantage of Blue Moon Valley is that it is set against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains. There are lush forests at the foot of the mountain and white snow on the top of the mountain. Together with the Blue Moon Valley, it has a layered beauty.

To visit the Blue Moon Valley, we rented a multi-seater electric car in the scenic area. In fact, it was completely unnecessary because the distance was very short. It didn’t take long to walk around the lake. Moreover, if you sit in the electric car, you will miss a lot of scenery.

The only problem is taking the scenic battery car in Blue Moon Valley. In fact, you can choose it freely. Later I found out that there is no need to take the car. You can walk down. Some people in our temporary group wanted to walk there, but the driver threatened to walk six kilometers. It's not that much. Of course, taking the car is almost the same. However, if you don't care too much about the fifty yuan, it's easier to take the car, and it also saves some energy to go up the snow mountain. Young people with physical strength can choose to walk to Blue Moon Valley.

Blue Moon Valley was previously called "Baishui River". On sunny days, the water turns blue and the valley is crescent-shaped, which looks like a blue moon embedded at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain. That's why it was named Blue Moon Valley. The name Baishui River comes from the fact that the mud at the bottom of the lake is white, and the water turns white when it rains, so it's also called Baishui River.

The river in the Blue Moon Valley was blocked by the mountains during its flow, forming four larger water surfaces, known as the "Jade Liquid" Lake, the "Mirror Pond" Lake, the "Blue Moon" Lake and the "Listening to the Waves" Lake. In fact, it seems that I missed two of them by taking the shuttle bus, and I couldn't fully appreciate the four lakes.

I was amazed by the beautiful color of the lake, which was like emerald. The Blue Moon Valley was surrounded by green peaks and trees. The lake was holy, warm, clear and intoxicating like jasper. It exuded an alluring atmosphere everywhere. The Blue Moon Valley was really jaw-droppingly beautiful. In the rain, at different angles and in different light, the color of each lake surface was different. No need to deliberately choose the background, just take a beautiful picture. No wonder there are so many newlyweds taking wedding photos.

The Blue Moon Valley is inside the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic spot, they are in the same place, so you can visit both attractions at the same time. You don't need to pay for the Blue Moon Valley separately, it is inside the scenic spot, it is fully open, and you just need to pay the entrance fee for the scenic spot. After getting off the bus, you can see a lot of these green Blue Moon Valley sightseeing battery cars. There is no need to sit, it is really not necessary, you can just walk, it won't be tiring, and you can freely and slowly enjoy the beautiful scenery in front of you.

Blue Moon Valley is not a fixed valley, but a whole river that flows down. Its predecessor was called "Baishui River". Four large lakes have been formed along the way, namely Yuye Lake, Jingtan Lake, Blue Moon Lake and Tingtao Lake. At about 12 noon, I walked out of the other end of the Blue Moon Valley exit and came to the shuttle parking lot. I saw many people queuing to get on the bus. I remembered that the instructor told me not to get on the bus at the parking lot that I could see right after entering the scenic area. I would be taken to other attractions that charge fees but are not worth visiting, wasting time and money. I quickly went around to the Shuiyue Pavilion parking lot behind, thinking silently that many people were still being ripped off.

Blue Moon Valley is very close to Yunshanping. After visiting Yunshanping, you can walk to it from the Yunshanping Cableway Station. Blue Moon Valley is a section of Baishui River. On sunny days, the water is blue and the valley is crescent-shaped. From a distance, it looks like a blue moon embedded at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain, so it is named Blue Moon Valley.

Blue Moon Valley is a man-made scenic spot. In 2006, the Yulong Snow Mountain Management Committee built six landscape sand dams, forming nearly 260,000 cubic meters of water and creating four major landscape lakes: "Yuye Lake", "Jingtan Lake", "Blue Moon Lake" and "Tingtao Lake".

Take the scenic bus from Blue Moon Valley to the starting point of Blue Moon Valley (Blue Moon Valley Station) and take the battery car, which costs 50 yuan. The battery car has three stops, the first stop is from the starting point of Blue Moon Valley to Baishuitai, the second stop is from Baishuitai to Jingtan Lake, and the third stop is from Tingtao Lake to the terminal of Blue Moon Valley (Shuiyue Pavilion Station).

If you want to hike in Blue Moon Valley, take the bus to the terminal station (Shuiyue Pavilion Station) in Blue Moon Valley. Shuiyue Pavilion Station is located in the middle of Blue Moon Valley. First hike to Baishui Terrace, then hike from Baishui Terrace to Tingtao Lake, and finally return to Shuiyue Pavilion Station to take the bus. Maybe it was really because there were too many people during the holidays, the scenic spots were crowded, the traffic was disorganized, and I didn't know how to buy tickets or how to take the bus. I had to rely on guesswork, or even on scalpers. Anyway, the experience was terrible.

However, the scenery of Blue Moon Valley is still very beautiful, which is a little comforting. If we can go to Glacier Park, I believe the scenery will be even more beautiful. But this time, we didn't have the chance to see it.

The Blue Moon Valley sightseeing bus costs 50 yuan, which I personally think is worth buying. The same price for children. The scenery is a bit like Jiuzhaigou. After Jiuzhaigou, I think this place is slightly inferior, but overall it is still good. The sightseeing bus is mainly for the front and back. If you have enough time, it is quite pleasant to walk all the way. There are always small food replenishment stations in the scenic area, so you don’t need to bring too much dry food.
