Chenghuang Pavilion (located in the Wushantian Scenic Area, one of Hangzhou's New West Lake Ten Scenic Spots) is located atop Wushan Mountain, a collective name for several smaller hills, including Qibao Mountain, Ziyang Mountain, and Yunju Mountain. Standing 41.6 meters tall, the seven-story, imitation-style building, including underground, is a dazzling and magnificent fusion of Yuan and Ming dynasty architectural styles. It captures the grandeur of Hangzhou's landscape, encompassing the river, mountains, lake, and city.

Ride a bike to Wushan Square, then climb a little up the mountain to Chenghuang Pavilion. Tickets are 30 yuan per person, and students are half price. You can go up before 7:30. You can overlook the night view of Hangzhou from the fourth floor.
The view from the top of Chenghuang Pavilion rivals that of Leifeng Pagoda. If the weather is good, it's definitely worth a visit. After the visit, we descended the mountain from the other side. There were some temples along the way, but unfortunately, they were closed at night. There was a lantern festival, and the entrance fee was 30 yuan, but the lanterns were quite ugly.
The only ticketed attraction in Wushan Scenic Area, Chenghuang Pavilion, has free explanations at the door. The lady who gave the explanation was very gentle and had a very sweet voice. The Southern Song Dynasty style street cost more than 2 million ~, 3D stereogram, the treasure of Chenghuang Pavilion
Tickets are 30 yuan per person, and I bought a full ticket and it was well worth it. After entering and checking your ticket, you'll be given a free tour guide, after which you'll be free to relax. The postcards are beautiful, 48 yuan for ten, and you come with your own 80-cent stamps. I sent them to friends all over the country, and the staff helped with the mailing, no extra charge. The fourth floor of Chenghuang Pavilion offers the best view of West Lake, with a much better view than from Jianghu Huiguan Pavilion. I spent over half an hour there, enjoying the warm sunshine, the breeze (somehow very light), and the beautiful scenery.
The best photo op at Wushan is from Chenghuang Pavilion, offering panoramic views of West Lake. The pavilion, nestled in the woods and illuminated by countless lights, is a perpetually dazzling star on the shores of West Lake. Tickets to Chenghuang Pavilion are 30 yuan, and closing time is 10 pm, so you can shoot there without worry, making it well worth the price. Climbing up to Chenghuang Pavilion, and even using an elevator, is incredibly tiring. The top floor offers a panoramic view of West Lake, but generally speaking, it's not ideal for photography.
I went to Chenghuang Pavilion, which was integrated with the mountain, complementing each other.
The ticket price for Chenghuang Pavilion is 30 yuan, which is not expensive at all. After all, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the mountains on a good day. Chenghuang Pavilion is open until 10 pm.
I went there at night and it felt pretty average, it looked better from a distance.
The ticket is 30rmb, you have to climb the mountain, there is no cable car to go up and down.
It overlooks the West Lake and the historical miniature landscape inside is well done.
In general, the 30 yuan ticket is worth it for Chenghuang Pavilion, at least you can see the night view, but the lanterns are really useless. What a good idea for the organizer to make money!
You can see the panoramic view of Hangzhou from the top of the building. The ticket is 30 yuan. There are some performances during the New Year.
On Wushan Mountain, there is a relatively small scenic area, including the City God Pavilion, the City God Temple and a small building in front. You can climb up to see the panoramic view of West Lake. It is worth coming.
This is probably the only paid attraction on Wushan Mountain. You can watch the sunset over West Lake from the top. From the Chenghuang Pavilion, you can see the Phoenix Pavilion across the way.
Located in the Wushantian Scenic Area, the Chenghuang Pavilion, a seven-story, 41.6-meter-tall, imitation-antique pavilion-style building, including the underground, is magnificent and splendid, incorporating the architectural styles of Yuan and Ming dynasty palaces. It focuses on the grand scheme of things while meticulously detailing the details, capturing the beauty of Hangzhou's rivers, mountains, lakes, and city. (From Baidu Encyclopedia)
I went up here after visiting the Hangzhou Museum. City God Tower is said to offer a great night view of Hangzhou, and going up early to see the sunset was also beautiful! Wushan actually lights up at night. A local man said it was installed during the G20 summit. I guess the illuminated mountain you saw at Leifeng Pagoda is here!
Located in Wushantian Scenic Area, Chenghuang Pavilion is a seven-story, antique pavilion-style building with an underground floor, 41.6 meters high. It is magnificent and splendid, integrating the architectural styles of Yuan and Ming dynasty palaces. It focuses on the big picture and outlines the details, taking in the beauty of Hangzhou's rivers, mountains, lakes and city.
It is clearly visible from the top of Wushan Mountain and the West Lake. When I came here, I found that they were holding a wedding banquet.
Go up to Chenghuang Pavilion to see the day and night views
Ticket price: 30 yuan per person
There are discounted tickets on China-TravelNote
Chenghuang Pavilion is open until 9:00 PM
Free shuttle bus available
You can also go down on foot
It's about 700 meters to Hefang Street.
Very close
There is a restaurant in the building
You can enjoy tea and snacks
Enjoy the night view
The whole of Hangzhou is in sight
Breathtakingly beautiful
It is also one of the ten new West Lake scenes, Wushan Tianfeng. The building above is the City God Pavilion. It is located at the entrance of Wushan Square on Hefang Street. It is not high, 94 meters, and you can see the Qiantang River and West Lake from afar. It is recommended! You can visit it together with Hefang Street as a scenic spot.
The terrain here is very high, overlooking the entire West Lake and Hangzhou, the scenery is nice
We climbed a long, steep slope, over 30 degrees. They actually required an entrance fee? 30 yuan, 24 yuan online. I paid for it after using the restroom, saving enough for a bottle of water. We then headed straight to the rooftop, where there was an elevator, and finally had a view of West Lake.
The ticket price seems to be 25. It's quite cheap.
Located atop Wushan Mountain beside West Lake, Chenghuang Pavilion is a key component of the Wushantian Scenic Area, one of Hangzhou's ten new West Lake scenes. Its grand scale and imposing presence rival those of the three renowned towers of Jiangnan, making it a popular destination for visitors seeking scenic views. At the lower entrance, a 27-meter-long and 6-meter-high granite relief, titled "Wushan Scenery," depicts the grand spectacle of the Wushan Temple Fair held at Chenghuang Temple during the Southern Song Dynasty.
Hangzhou City God Pavilion is located in Wushan Square. It is an antique pavilion over 40 meters high. Climbing to the top floor of the pavilion, you can have a panoramic view of Hangzhou's rivers, mountains, lakes and city.
Arrived around 3:00 PM and strolled around Hefang Street and Southern Song Imperial Street at the foot of the mountain.
There are some very artistic shops on the street that specialize in postcards, and you can send them to the future. The postcards are very beautiful.
I walked up at around 5 o'clock. There was a free explanation with the ticket, but you had to follow the tour guide. The tour guide was very gentle and spoke very well. You can ask for talismans in the City God Temple for dozens of yuan. After worshiping the Buddha, you can take the incense bag with the sticks inside and someone will help you interpret it for free. I think it's okay. The City God Pavilion is on its own. The tour guide said that the scenery on the fourth floor is the best, and it is indeed good.
I went there two years ago. It was raining and I went with an umbrella. When I got to the ticket gate, a beautiful tour guide asked me if I needed a tour guide. She said it was free! I agreed half-heartedly, and it turned out to be free! In addition, the Chenghuang Pavilion is basically commercialized, and the view from the outside can only be seen from the window... It was raining that day, and it was white all over.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It would be better to climb up Wushan Mountain and see the Jianghu Huiguan Pavilion.
You are not allowed to enter after 8pm. The information above is unreliable. It made me come all the way here, and now I regret it.
I went today. Perhaps because it was a Monday, only the first floor exhibition hall was open, while the second floor was closed. The third and fourth floors were commercial tea restaurants. The top floor offers a view of West Lake. Overall, it was average, not worth the price.
On the lonely mountain, you need to buy a ticket to visit
A must-visit attraction for families every Chinese New Year: climb the tower, worship the City God, drink tea and bask in the sun on the City God Pavilion. It's a relaxing and enjoyable family trip.
Climb up Wushan Mountain and you can see the panoramic view of West Lake. . . .
On the hill next to Wushan Square, the surrounding attractions are very concentrated, and you can see the West Lake from above
Climbing up Wushan Mountain, you can see the panoramic view of West Lake. Climbing the tower on a rainy night is breathtakingly beautiful.
The antique pavilion building is located on the top of Wushan Mountain. The ticket price is 30 yuan. It is very beautiful when it is lit up after sunset. It is not recommended to enter the scenic area to watch it, you can just watch it from a distance.
In fact, it is a man-made tourist attraction. It seems that the reason why there are so few people climbing the building is that I really don’t recommend you to go there specifically. Not only is it a waste of money, but it is also a waste of time.
We didn't go up, we just looked at the square below because we were lazy.
This is probably the only paid attraction on Wushan Mountain. From the summit, you can watch the sunset over West Lake. After buying a ticket and entering, I wandered around for half an hour below, then slowly climbed up the steps to the fourth floor of the City God Pavilion. I basked in the sun for another half hour on the rooftop. Around 5:30, the sun began to set, and at 6:00, it was just like strolling around the park. On sunny days, the light after 4:00 is at its softest, perfect for photographing the scenery, close-ups, and everything in between. There's an elevator, but since I had plenty of time, wouldn't it be better to see it from level to level? And not all views are best at the summit. I remembered seeing Wushan's City God Pavilion from afar during my climb of Phoenix Mountain, and this time, from the top, I could see the Phoenix Pavilion across the way. The second floor is a teahouse, but on the fourth floor, there was no ventilation, perhaps because the restaurant in the middle was closed, and there was no wind. The three of us sat on the ground. The light had already faded below, but we comfortably sunbathed for a while on the top floor. Two hours to enter the park and two minutes to sunset.
City God Pavilion is a pleasant surprise in Hangzhou. From Hefang Street to Wushan, ascend the stone steps to the Wushan Grand View Terrace, where you'll see a row of stone screen walls carved with Southern Song Dynasty folk customs. Tickets to the City God Pavilion cost 30 yuan for adults, with a 10 yuan difference required with a park card. After purchasing your ticket and entering the park, you'll be greeted by two structures: the City God Pavilion and the City God Temple. The six-story City God Pavilion, with its stone base and red-painted exterior walls and soaring eaves, resembles a fiery phoenix perched atop Wushan. From the pavilion, you'll be able to take in the panoramic views of West Lake, the urban life of Hangzhou, and the surging Qiantang River. At night, the pavilion illuminates, revealing the same magnificent pavilion people often admire while strolling along West Lake. The couplet on the second floor of the City God Pavilion, "Eight hundred miles of lakes and mountains—who knows when this painting was created? Lights from a hundred thousand houses illuminate this very pavilion," perfectly compliments the pavilion. Yet, as I stand here, the memory of Su Dongpo's timeless poem comes to mind: "When will the bright moon appear? I raise my cup to the blue sky, asking it. I wonder what year it is in the palace of heaven. I long to ride the wind home, but fear the jade buildings, high up, are too cold. Dancing with my shadow, it feels nothing like being in the human world."
It is a good choice to go hiking on the weekend. Hefang Street at the foot of the mountain is well-equipped for eating and playing. It is still a good choice!
It's OK, you can see the whole view of Hangzhou from Chenghuang Pavilion
The entire West Lake can be seen from Chenghuang Pavilion. The scenery is unique and the West Lake is like a beautiful painting.
I just watched the night view from a distance and didn't have time to go there, but it feels like it would be great.
On Wushan Mountain, you need a ticket to climb the tower to overlook the West Lake. At the foot of the mountain is Wushan Square, and next to it is Hefang Street.
Because I see it every day from my office, I'm tired of it. Every time the sun sets, the view from my office is much more beautiful than when I go there specifically when I have time, or maybe it's just the wrong time.
The oldest Chenghuang Pavilion in Hangzhou is connected to Hefang Street, which is worth visiting.
It's easy to find. Just walk up Hefang Street and you'll reach Chenghuang Pavilion. You can buy tickets online for 20 yuan and use them directly. The building is magnificent and you can see the whole view of West Lake from the upstairs. It's well worth a visit.
It's so beautiful~ It's a pity that I don't have time to go up~ I heard that the night view is very beautiful~
Tourist attractions, locals generally don't go there, just look at the West Lake.
It seems that every place has a City God Pavilion, similar to the Earth God Pavilion. We arrived at this place at night and it was really nice to see the night view of Hangzhou. Moreover, Hefang Street is under the City God Pavilion, which is very suitable for a big meal in Hefang Street after the view.
The entrance fee is 30 yuan, and there are City God Pavilion, City God Temple, etc.
Located in the Wushantian Scenic Area, the Chenghuang Pavilion, a seven-story, 41.6-meter-tall, imitation-style building, including the underground, is a dazzling and magnificent structure. It blends the architectural styles of Yuan and Ming dynasties, focusing on the grandeur and detailing the beauty of Hangzhou's rivers, mountains, lakes, and city. It's built on a hill, requiring a climb to reach, but we took in the view from the square.
After dinner, I came out and saw the City God Pavilion on the top of Wushan Mountain. Although I have been to Wushan several times, I have never been to the City God Pavilion. I have never been interested in such newly built things. However, the night view of the City God Pavilion is still very beautiful.
Visit Hefang Street to experience Hangzhou's past and present urban life, or climb Wushan City God Pavilion for a panoramic view of West Lake. Because there's an entrance fee, it's not crowded, and the pavilion boasts a commendable exhibition showcasing Hangzhou's charm.
It is located by the West Lake and can be seen from the West Lake, but we did not go there. It is nice to take pictures from a distance.
I can't see the panoramic view of West Lake. There is a restaurant in the pavilion, which is neither fish nor fowl.
The night view of Chenghuang Pavilion is very beautiful. I saw it while eating delicious food on Hefang Street. I originally wanted to visit Chenghuang Pavilion, but I didn't know how to get there. It was quite late at night, so I thought I would go there next time. In the end, I didn't go. Chenghuang Pavilion at night is really charming. Next time I am in Hangzhou, I must visit Chenghuang Pavilion.
A very ancient place, different from the City God Temple in Shanghai, haha
Live near Chenghuang Pavilion, the night view is beautiful...
It is only a five-minute drive from the railway station and a three-minute drive from West Lake.
Take bus No. 8, 35, 38, 40, or 807 and get off at Wushan Square Station. National Highway 320 and Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway.
The ruins of the ancient City God Temple in Hangzhou are now quite lively.
Not bad, not ...
On Wushan Mountain, there are antique buildings. Tickets are required. There are teahouses around. The environment is good, but the surrounding hygiene is not very good.
City God Pavilion, one of the ten new scenic spots of West Lake, was recently renovated. Climbing the Tower offers panoramic views of West Lake. Tickets are required, and reservations are made online one day in advance. The price is 18 yuan per person, and includes a guide's explanation upon entry. The attic of the Tower has an elevator, making it more accessible to older visitors. Wishing plaques can be hung inside for a separate fee. There are also souvenir shops. On the first floor, there's a teahouse where you can order tea and snacks—it's quite nice.
Hangzhou City God Temple is located at the foot of Wushan Mountain, very close to Hefang Street.
But it's better to go to other mountain tops to see West Lake.
Admission is a bit pricey, but there's a free guided tour at the entrance. The guides are very professional and will recommend places to visit after the tour. However, they'll take you to the temple to draw a fortune stick, which costs 1 yuan to interpret. Buying the sticks requires some money, so be aware. The architectural style of City God Pavilion is similar to many other City God Temples. I ascended via the steps near the Drum Tower. After reaching the top, you'll pass an area where Hangzhou residents drink tea, play cards, and watch operas. On a clear day, the rooftop offers a panoramic view of Hangzhou, including West Lake. At night, you can overlook the vendors' stalls in Wushan Square. The Hangzhou Municipal Government thoughtfully relocated the World Expo Hangzhou Pavilion to the first floor of the City God Pavilion, allowing visitors to experience the city's history and culture all at once. The first floor also features a restored model of Hangzhou during the Song Dynasty and a rich collection of Hangzhou's intangible cultural heritage.
It only costs 15 yuan to buy a ticket online with Tongcheng, and my friend used the Hangzhou Citizen Card.
You can go for a walk, you don't need to climb the mountain, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of West Lake
It's near Wushan Square and looks especially nice at night.
Hangzhou City God Pavilion (Wushantian Scenic Area, one of the ten new West Lake scenes in Hangzhou) is located on the top of Wushan Mountain, which is the general name for several small mountains including Qibao Mountain, Ziyang Mountain, and Yunju Mountain.
The scenic area is not very large. The main buildings are the City God Temple and the City God Pavilion. The buildings are relatively new and should have been rebuilt in recent years. The City God Temple is also the Zhou Xin Temple. Zhou Xin was the Zhejiang Provincial Surveillance Commissioner during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. He was unjustly killed by Emperor Chengzu for offending the command of the Jinyiwei. During his time as an official in Hangzhou, he was honest and good at judging cases. Later, he was posthumously named the God of Zhejiang City by Emperor Chengzu. The City God Pavilion is a seven-story imitation antique building with a height of 41.6 meters. The first floor is an exhibition room with eight paintings reflecting the customs and practices of Hangzhou in the Southern Song Dynasty, folk stories of West Lake, and works related to West Lake in the past dynasties. There are exquisitely crafted and highly ornamental works of art and paintings, including the sculpture and painting "Tea Fighting Picture", Dongyang wood carving "West Lake World Scenery", sculpture and painting "West Lake Dragon Boat Race", three-dimensional hardwood colored sculpture and painting "Southern Song Dynasty Hangzhou Scenery", bluestone line carving "Ancient West Lake Celebrities", bluestone line carving "West Lake Folk Tales", colored gold wood carving "Southern Song Dynasty Palace Nuo Picture", and sculpture and painting "Southern Song Dynasty Peddler's Cart". Take the elevator to the sixth floor, then walk up the stairs to the top, lean on the railing and look out, overlooking West Lake, Leifeng Pagoda, the three islands in the lake, and the city buildings, which is a unique experience.
