You need to buy a 110 yuan ticket to enter the East Gate. I bought a 25 yuan ticket to enter the East Gate in the evening of the previous day and could only pass by.

It is so beautiful. The exquisiteness, luxurious materials and boldness of the craftsmanship are fully displayed through the wood carving.

The craftsmanship of Ming Dynasty craftsmen is not to be underestimated. It is said that it took a year to make a large carved bed.

The most amazing thing is the Jiangnan Woodcarving Museum. The auspicious dragon and phoenix you see as soon as you enter the door can really be described as "miraculous workmanship". It is hard to imagine that such delicate and exquisite wood carvings could be carved by hand in the past.

Walking across East Street, you will reach the Jiangnan Woodcarving Museum. This Maitreya Buddha woodcarving covered with gold foil and then painted is worth seeing.

The Yuliuliang Coin Museum collects commemorative coins from various countries, which were left by a collector. There is a shop in the coin museum that specializes in selling commemorative coins from various countries. I was not very interested in it, so I walked past it quickly and did not take any photos.

I was here during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday in 2012. I only remember the carved beams, which I thought required a lot of effort.

Whether the exhibition hall is worth visiting depends on personal preference. Since I prefer to see the scenery, I basically took a quick look at it. I was traveling independently and did not join a tour group, so at most I could broaden my horizons. However, I still recommend that the scenic spots are now very complete. There is a brief introduction at the entrance of each attraction, and you can also scan the QR code to listen to the voice introduction. No matter which way you go, you can get a general understanding. The tour guide's words are sometimes pleasant to listen to. It is also an achievement to bring back as much knowledge as possible from traveling. Haha~ I was young and frivolous before, and I didn't have this awareness, so I won't say more.

Jiangnan Woodcarving Museum. There are many wood carvings inside. I really admire the craftsmanship and wisdom of the ancient people.

Known by Wuzhen residents as the "Hall of Flowers," the Jiangnan Woodcarving Exhibition Hall boasts a wealth of intricate patterns carved into its doors, windows, corbels, trusses, slats, vertical columns, and moon beams. Wuzhen is renowned for its exquisite woodcarving. The various woodcarvings feature a wide variety of themes, including vivid scenes like "Guo Ziyi's Birthday Family Portrait" and "The Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea," as well as traditional motifs like "Dragon and Phoenix Bringing Good Fortune" and "Plum, Orchid, Bamboo, and Chrysanthemum." These works, with their simple style and vivid carving techniques, showcase the folk customs of Jiangnan. They employ techniques ranging from round carving, flat carving, openwork carving, hollow carving, relief carving, and line carving, making them truly treasures of Chinese culture and art.

Maybe the overall feeling I had about Wuzhen was that there were too many people. It was also hot when I went there, so I didn't find anything interesting to see.

Originally the Xu family's mansion, also known as Baihua Hall, with carved beams and painted buildings, its main hall now displays a wealth of exquisite ancient Chinese wood carvings.

The wood carving museum displays all kinds of treasures, but ever since I saw those more amazing works at Zhang Zhenggen Carving Art Museum in Xitang, I am not so interested in these daily household artworks.

What impressed me most was that some of the utensils inside reflected the fusion of Jiangnan culture and the Nanyang culture of the time. They had an exotic flavor and were very interesting.

The carving skills of our ancestors are really superb, and all kinds of objects are lifelike. I really think it would be great if I could live in ancient times, so that I can feel the beauty of carving displayed by craftsmen everywhere.

Located on Wuzhen's Dongzha Old Street, the original owner of this house was Xu Ai, a native of Shangyu, Shaoxing. He made his fortune by brewing wine, then later opened a hotel, a rice shop, and a flour mill. After his success, he built this mansion, which the people of Wuzhen call "Xu Family Hall." In short, it was a wealthy family in Wuzhen, so the entire house is decorated with carved beams and painted buildings!

The Jiangnan Woodcarving Exhibition Hall, located in Dongzha, showcases woodcarvings from furniture and architecture from the Jiangnan region during and after the Republican era. All exhibits are from private collections, including dragon and phoenix columns from palaces, temples, residential buildings, and gardens. Upon entering, you're greeted by an intricately carved screen and an introduction to the exhibition hall. Behind them, a pair of two-meter-tall basswood dragon and phoenix columns are carved with coiled dragons and flying phoenixes, each with a striking craftsmanship that brings the dragon and phoenix to life.

The Woodcarving Hall displays over 250 wood carvings from Jiangnan residential buildings, particularly those in Xitang, dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. These include beams, beam pads, arch supports, brackets, and lattice windows. The carving techniques are diverse, showcasing intricate details such as ground carving, ground carving, slotted carving, and openwork. The patterns are elegant, neat, and exquisite, showcasing the unique softness, delicacy, freshness, and splendor of Jiangnan woodcarving. Upon entering the hall, you'll notice the hollow carved wooden doors on either side. A couplet reads, "The gate is steeped in ancient charm, and the family values Confucianism," and a horizontal banner reads, "Dunren and Continuing Virtue." These complement the vibrant woodcarvings within the Woodcarving Hall.
