Monkey Island is located in the central area of Thousand Island Lake. It is the main island of the Monkey Kingdom in the Yunmeng Islands of Thousand Island Lake. It consists of more than ten emerald islands of different sizes and is nine kilometers away from Thousand Island Lake Town.
The island is densely forested, full of wild fruits, and surrounded by clear water. The water distance to neighboring islands is more than a kilometer.
So far, Monkey Island has released Guangxi rhesus macaques, red-faced short-tailed macaques, long-tailed macaques, crab-eating macaques, bear macaques, flat-headed macaques and other species of monkeys.
The monkeys on Monkey Island were relocated to Osmanthus Island on March 18, 2015. Osmanthus Island is now Monkey Island.

It is very interesting to take a boat tour. You can appreciate the beauty of Qiandao Lake and see the delightful monkeys on Monkey Island. It is worth going.
The journey to Monkey Island is relatively good. The children can walk by themselves. You can give food to the monkeys. I spent 25 to participate in the monkey school show. My father took me there. Overall, it is more suitable for children.
Monkey Island: The lake area of the monkey free-range center is crowded and the lake water is poor
Monkey Island is divided into three tourist areas: Yuanren Village, Science Gallery, and Monkey Art Garden. In Yuanren Village, you can have close contact with monkeys and have endless fun; in the Science Gallery, you can learn about primates and broaden your horizons; in the Monkey Art Garden, you can observe monkey training skills and unique monkey culture. It is a fun place suitable for people of all ages.
It is Monkey Island. I suggest that everyone buy a bucket of instant noodles and some snacks before departure, as well as bananas for the monkeys. When we got on the boat, we automatically added 35 yuan to go to the second floor. The scenery was really good. The staff poured a cup of tea for each person and automatically refilled the water. I thought it was very good. There is a monkey show on Monkey Island, but I don’t recommend watching it. It’s boring. Everything else is very good.
A small island in Qiandao Lake with many monkeys!
Monkey Island is the farthest island from the pier. It takes about 2-3 hours to get there by boat, and only the 9:00 am boat can go there. 2 hours is plenty of time for photo opportunities!
Like other islands, it is very boring. Qiandao Lake should be visited in a leisurely way, such as fishing, cycling around the lake, etc. After all, it is a reservoir. The water quality of Xin'an River is good and the scenery is beautiful.
Fortunately, the monkey island where we see the monkeys is not far from the mountain pass, so we don't have to climb very high. We bought a bag of bread to feed the monkeys for 15 yuan, and someone helped us with sticks to watch for the monkeys' sneak attacks. It was well worth the 15 yuan, it was really just a bag of Dali milk bread.
Monkey Island is a major monkey island in the Monkey Kingdom of Yunmeng Islands in Qiandao Lake.
The first island we arrived at after sailing was Monkey Island, which was full of monkeys. I would like to remind everyone not to feed the monkeys with food from your bag, as they are very smart.
Like other islands, it is very boring. Qiandao Lake should choose a leisurely way to fish, ride a bike around the lake, etc. After all, it is a reservoir. The water quality of Xin'an River is good, and the hilltops have become islands.
You need to take a boat to get there. There are usually several islands together. You can take photos on Monkey Island and feel close to nature. It is not very popular because there are too many people during holidays.
The island isn't large, and free time is only 40 minutes. Its defining feature is the free-roaming monkeys. As soon as the boat arrives, the monkeys rush to the dock to greet the tourists and wait for their food before disembarking. The tour guide reminds everyone not to bring transparent snack bags onto the island. Every time a monkey snatches a non-transparent bag of snacks from a tourist, everyone bursts into laughter. This island is perfect for children. The monkeys roam and jump from house to house and tree to tree, creating a lively atmosphere.
The first stop was Monkey Island. The monkeys there were much cuter than I imagined. It was open to the public. The tour guide told me a lot of precautions, especially that I couldn’t hold things in my hands, otherwise they would come to snatch them. It was super cute. The monkey’s little hands had no claws and were very soft and comfortable. We gestured for it to come to my hand to take it, and it put its other arm on my clothes. It was so nice and wanted to hug me, although it was only after my fruit = =... If you dare to play with monkeys, they will have a bad temper and want to beat you... Anyway, the Monkey King is not to be messed with. It is still worth coming to Monkey Island to see the animals
How should I put it, there are indeed monkeys. In fact, I personally think that the entire Qiandao Lake scenic area is just average, and Monkey Island is a relatively lively place.
The boats from the Southeast Lake area will only depart for Monkey Island before 9:00 am every day. Monkey Island is characterized by its stone forest scenery and a group of monkeys who follow you for food.
The weather was bad that day, it was raining and very cold, so I just looked out the window at Monkey Island from the speedboat and saw many monkeys waiting for tourists to feed them.
I can only say that it's okay if you want to see monkeys. After all, it's very interesting to watch monkeys jumping up and down in the trees so closely.
Monkey Island just has monkeys, nothing special else.
Because the bus ride from downtown Hangzhou to Qiandao Lake takes about two hours, it's best to stay in Qiandao Lake Town the night before to catch the 9 a.m. boat ride the next day. We chose this route; the combination of beautiful scenery and animals was truly captivating. When we arrived at Monkey Island, it suddenly started to rain, and the monkeys all took shelter under the eaves... Look for the monkeys below!
One of the many island attractions in Qiandao Lake.
These are the monkeys on Monkey Island. Originally, we were there to watch the monkeys, but as they were feeding them, we ended up being surrounded by them. Hey, do I look familiar? I am a descendant of the Great Sage.
Monkeys are pretty cute, so it's fun.
The most interesting animal island is much better than a bunch of pythons lying there motionless.
I've been to Monkey Island many times. Some areas have high wire fences. I remember the deepest one was near Yuanren Village. You can feed the monkeys, and usually in the morning when the monkeys are hungry, they'll come to grab food. In the afternoon, when the monkeys are full, they don't bother with people. There are also monkey shows to watch. But the little monkeys are quite cute.
I don’t like this kind of scenic spot. It’s not beautiful and the monkeys are not free.
When we went to Monkey Island, a big dark cloud came over as soon as we landed, followed by heavy rain. We couldn't go up to the island. Fearing that the monkeys would change their temperament in such weather, the staff led two or three monkeys out for us to see. Later, we took shelter in a pavilion. When the rain subsided, we went to another island.
The monkeys were not released on the day I went there.
It's no different from any other island...
It's a small island with unremarkable scenery. There are a lot of monkeys, probably fed by tourists, and their stomachs are flat from hunger. There is a monkey theater on the mountain, and the children love watching it and keep clapping.
The tour guide took us to an island on our one-day tour of Qiandao Lake. The scenery was average and there were some monkeys, but I was not interested in them.
I was scared by monkeys in Mount Emei, but the monkeys here are more well behaved.
It's not interesting, just a few monkeys on the island, this is not the reason to come to Qiandao Lake
Saying it's Monkey Island is a bit of an exaggeration, there really aren't that many monkeys.
Anyway, it's the "what the hell" you can imagine + the general appearance of the island.
Qiandao Lake is really beautiful. The monkeys on Monkey Island are quite cute as long as they are still. But now the monkeys in the scenic area are a bit fierce, which is a bit scary.
A very ordinary island with only monkeys
There are so many monkeys, I'm a little scared... I won't dare to go there next time...
Qiandao Lake is a scenic spot in Zhejiang Province, consisting of many small islands, and this is one of them.
I don't particularly like monkeys, they seem scary.
Beautiful, very nice environment. Beautiful, very nice environment.
One of the islands in Qiandao Lake is called Monkey Island because there are many monkeys on it. Actually, there is nothing special about it.
The monkeys on Hangzhou Monkey Island are raised naturally and fed artificially.
There are so many monkeys~ Haha~ Big and small, they really snatch the food from tourists. Just zipping up your bag can make them squat nearby and wait. The big monkeys are still very ferocious. If you scare them, they will bare their teeth at you~ You can't afford to offend them~
Monkey Island is naturally full of monkeys. The monkeys are cute but also fierce and very strong. Tourists should be careful not to carry anything, haha.
It's a small island with some monkeys on it. Some of the rocks on it are quite interesting, and there is one that looks very much like a monkey's face. I wonder if it's a coincidence.
Monkey Island, located 9 kilometers from Qiandaohu Town, is one of the main islands in the Qiandaohu Scenic Area. It covers an area of 5 hectares and sits at an altitude of 126 meters, boasting a flat terrain. In 1985, the Shanghai Institute of Physiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Qiandaohu Forest Farm collaborated to establish a macaque breeding base using the "water trapping" method. It opened to the public in 1990. Monkey Island is divided into three areas: Yuanren Village, the Science Gallery, and the Monkey Art Garden. Yuanren Village offers endless opportunities for close encounters with monkeys; the Science Gallery offers a wealth of insights into primates; and the Monkey Art Garden showcases the skills of monkey trainers and their unique culture. It's a delightful destination for all ages.
It's just okay, nothing special, I feel
Nongfu Spring is a bit sweet! The fish is good, maybe I'm hungry.
When I went to Sanya more than ten years ago, there was no Nanhai Guanyin Temple yet. I went to Monkey Island and saw many little monkeys who would snatch things from tourists!
A small island in Qiandao Lake with many monkeys
The monkeys on the island are not afraid of people. It is recommended not to wear red skirts or red pants when visiting Monkey Island.
Take a boat to the island, where there are all kinds of monkeys, and you can have close contact with the monkeys.
The scenic spots include Monkey Diving, Panlong Terrace, Tongtian Stone Gate, Jade Rabbit and Toad Palace, Rock Osmanthus Questioning Monkey, Shoe and Hat Terrace, Questioning Stone, Wulong Waterfall and many other beautiful and unique scenes, forming a larger, higher-grade and more distinctive scenic area.
Feeding monkeys is quite fun, but you have to be careful and get out of the way after feeding them to avoid trouble.
The Monkey Island here is the main island, which is composed of many large and small islands. There are still a lot of monkeys here, but the tour guides will generally remind you not to feed them casually, and to keep your bags and water away, as they will snatch them away and are also aggressive. It is better to just look at them, take some photos and then walk away to avoid unnecessary harm. There are many kinds of long-tailed monkeys with red tails here, and they gather in families, basking in the sun and picking their ears on trees and rocks in various poses.
Monkey Island, a major monkey island within the Monkey Kingdom of the Yunmeng Islands in Qiandao Lake, is composed of more than ten emerald-colored islands, nine kilometers from Qiandao Lake Town. Densely forested and lush with wild fruits, Monkey Island is surrounded by turquoise waters, like a pearl amidst the vast expanse of blue waters. Each of the neighboring islands is over a kilometer away from the water. Visitors can buy peanuts or other items to feed the monkeys (a small bag costs 20 yuan at the scenic area). However, beware: these monkeys can be quite feral and will snatch food and other items from visitors. It's best to feed the monkeys in the presence of a staff member to ensure they escort you. Taking a photo with a monkey in your arms costs 10 yuan per person. There are two monkeys in total. While one is working, look closely at the other, off-duty, perched atop the rockery. In today's world of harmonious working relationships, they rotate shifts to ensure one monkey doesn't get too tired.
The monkeys on the island are very clever and are also little greedy cats. People who like small animals must go and see them. I was a little scared and kept hiding behind my husband.
There are a lot of monkeys, they are not afraid of people at all, please be careful.
The monkeys are so cute. I felt so sorry for the old monkey king who was bullied and had lost all his hair. I took a photo with the little monkey. It's worth a visit.
At the attractions included in the Qiandao Lake combined ticket, there are boat trips specifically for tourists to the island, though tour groups generally don't take tourists to this small island. Several small monkeys roam freely on the island. If they see tourists wearing hats, they will jump on you and pull your hat off. If you see one or two monkeys, it's okay to give them a little food. However, if you see more monkeys, be sure to put the food back in your bag, otherwise it will attract more monkeys to grab the food. Before arriving on the island, it's not recommended to wear a hat or scarf, as the monkeys will be curious and pull the scarf off.
It's just okay, nothing special, and the visibility was not very good that day.
The monkeys here are not afraid of people, but you still have to be careful of bag snatching when you walk by
The water in Qiandao Lake is quite clear, but there is nothing interesting on the island.
There is nothing interesting to do on the islands in Qiandao Lake, and the commercial atmosphere is too strong.
There are so many monkeys, and they even try to snatch the banana from my nephew's hand
Qiandao Lake is really beautiful, with clear water that tastes just like Nongfu Spring.
For those who love animals, you can’t miss Monkey Island. The clever little creatures will make all your travel fatigue go away.
I went there as a child and the Monkey Island was my most memorable place. I remember a monkey playing with tourists.
They just caught some monkeys and put them on the island - they didn't even take good care of them, they were dirty and listless, and they were also very aggressive...
It's ok, it's quite small. There are not only monkeys, but also peacocks and other animals. The parrot show is quite interesting.
As far as I can remember, I have been to Qiandao Lake at least three times, and every time I went to Monkey Island, and it was the same every time.
Sitting on a hot and stuffy boat under the scorching sun, going around and around, and then going up to the island again and again and back to the boat, this is not a pleasant experience for me personally, but rather more annoying.
Many places are famous for their monkeys, but Qiandao Lake is in a difficult position. It lacks the sophisticated facilities of Hainan Monkey Island, nor the wildness of Emei Monkey Island. It's just the few monkeys on the island that gave it its name.
Everyone has their own preferences. Maybe the scorching sun affected my mood, so you must not go there on a sunny day. People with poor patience may feel aggrieved.
The scenery is really nice, but there are too many monkeys and it's quite scary
It was a very interesting trip. There were many cute monkeys on the island. Hahahaha
