Ninghai East Zhejiang Grand Canyon

宁海浙东大峡谷

The Grand Canyon of Eastern Zhejiang boasts a vibrant mix of lush mountains and clear waters, bizarre peaks and rocks, cascading streams and waterfalls, and pristine forests. Tianhe Scenic Area is renowned for its precipitous peaks, secluded valleys, breathtaking waters, unique rocks, mysterious roots, and ethereal mists. Its pristine, mysterious, wild, and majestic charm captivates all who visit.
The Dasongxi Gorge is tranquil and deep, with grotesque peaks and rocks, and cascading waterfalls and rapids. Boat along Songxi and admire the "Little Three Gorges" scenery on both sides, visit Bitan, one of the "Three Wonders of Tianshui," and experience the charm of Jiuzhaigou. The towering Tianmu Peak, adorned with welcoming pines and misty clouds, is reminiscent of the magnificent scenery of Huangshan.
The canyon stream is only 4 degrees Celsius year-round, so if you visit in the summer, the shadows of the mountain trees and the stream are particularly refreshing. In some places, you can even go down to the shallows to play in the water. If playing in the shallows isn't enough, rafting in the Baixi River downstream of the reservoir is also a good option for summer water fun.

The East Zhejiang Grand Canyon is located in Ninghai County, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, with a total planned area of about 160 square kilometers, and the core scenic area of more than 30 square kilometers. It is 114 kilometers away from Ningbo and 29 kilometers away from Ninghai County. It is 9 kilometers away from the fork exit of the coastal highway Ningbo-Taizhou-Wenzhou Expressway. It is an ecological scenic spot that relies on natural scenery, takes the essence of Taoism and Taiyue culture as its connotation, and features green mountains and waters, strange peaks and rocks, streams and waterfalls, primeval forests and modern entertainment.

It is a canyon scenic area converted from a reservoir. There are many people during the National Day holiday. The most impressive thing is walking to the stream at the top. It is more refreshing to play in the stream when the weather is hot.

By Doudoudoudoudou |

A must-visit place in Ninghai, the natural scenery is very beautiful and very nice

By because I Love You |

It's closed. Don't go. It's been closed for a long time.

The waters of Mount Tiantai flow down to form the Grand Canyon of East Zhejiang. Upstream of the Grand Canyon lies the renowned Huading Scenic Area of Mount Tiantai. In fact, the most treacherous and dangerous part of the landscape is the summit of the Grand Canyon. The feeling of traversing the creek upstream can be described in four words: dangerous, steep, bizarre, and beautiful.

By zhm_jinan |

A good place for leisure and vacation. It is said that the Baixi Reservoir downstream is the water source of Ningbo. It has been closed to protect the water source.

By Xi Zheng |

The scenery is very nice, and you need to take a boat to visit the source of the reservoir. The disadvantage is that the location of the scenic spot is a bit remote.

By Playing around |

If you take public transportation, the place is hard to find and the scenery is average. Many places in the scenic area are undeveloped and inaccessible. You can only walk along the canyon water system and then return the same way.

By Mushroom M |

The scenery is nice in summer, with mountain roads and boat rides on the reservoir.

By Yvonne |

I'm a local. Because there's a reservoir here, it seems to be closed to protect water resources. Don't go there in vain.

By Grove |

The scenery is good, but the development lacks foresight and the scenic spot settings are relatively simple.

By backup |

I went there on March 23, 2016. It was a trip that completely exceeded my expectations. The scenery was beautiful, and it was far superior to those famous mountains and rivers. I bought a ticket at the entrance of the scenic area and took a boat to the mountains. The water was very clear, the lake was blue, and there were few people in the mountains. I was accompanied by the stream all the way. I will add pictures later.

By Yang Youth |

The scenic spot has been closed for renovation since July 26, 2017! It was a wasted trip, so disappointing!

By Shan Jin |

The scenic spot is closed and does not accept tourists, which wastes time and affects the mood

By Foam Cherry |

The gate was closed and the scenic area was closed from July 26. Many people drove three or four hours to get here. It couldn't be more deceptive.

By Tianshan Snow |

I came to the East Zhejiang Grand Canyon, but the gate was closed. There was a notice on the door saying "Closed for rectification from July 26th". What a big pit.

By Chen Gongzhao |

The Grand Canyon entrance fee of NT$100 is quite expensive. I went in the rain, and it wasn't a very pleasant experience. If my wife hadn't been there, I would have just left. The facilities are quite poor, with only one simple route that takes two hours round trip. I didn't feel very involved or appreciative, and many of the hiking areas were closed. I hope things improve in the future. If you're just looking to see the water, you can go, but I wouldn't recommend going for the rest of the year. I went on June 20, 2017.

By Kind... |

It is quite majestic and magnificent. Those who like mountains and rivers can experience it.

By 37 degrees |

The famous Grand Canyon has beautiful scenery, but it is a bit far away.

By Bai Xiaobai |

It's okay to go hiking with a group of people, it won't be tiring

By Collect a period of time |

The Grand Canyon is usually not crowded, the scenery is beautiful, and it is worth a visit

This trip completely exceeded my expectations! The scenery is stunning and the mountains and waters are picturesque! Highly recommended!

A trip that completely exceeded my expectations. It is not very famous, but the scenery is first-class. I highly recommend it, with beautiful mountains and clear waters.

By Strolling leisurely |

Beautiful, beautiful, rafting is also very good, if you like natural scenery, you must go

By make a sightseeing tour |

The Grand Canyon in East Zhejiang has beautiful mountains, water and air, and the natural scenery has not been commercialized. The place to stay is very good. I chose the local Xinghe Hotel, and the scenery outside the room window is beautiful.

By Sweet and Sour Pickled Pepper Chicken |

It's okay, tourists are very tired and the environment is not as good as imagined.

By Enoki mushroom and baby cabbage |

The scenery is beautiful, the water is breathtaking, and the food is delicious! The scenic area is pristine and uncommercialized, making it very relaxing. You have to take a boat to get in and out. After consulting with the locals, we learned that the latest entry is 3:30 PM and the latest exit is 4:30 PM, so you need to plan your time accordingly. We had dinner when we saw a sign at the entrance to the scenic area, attracted by the exclusive wild fish from eastern Zhejiang. We followed the navigation and found Baixi Tianfu Farm, a 6-7 minute drive from the scenic area. The place is huge, and we thought it would be expensive, but we were very satisfied with the food. It was a complete reversal, especially because the fish was amazing! We were out for fun and relaxation, and nothing unpleasant happened. We got to get close to nature, play in the water, and enjoy the breeze. It's a great summer getaway!

By The Black Mountain Demon cried |

It was very good, but I didn't eat seafood. I brought a child and was exhausted. The local customs are still good and suitable for a slow walk.

By Bright Moon |

The mountain path, built along a stream, offers beautiful scenery. In the summer, many tourists catch fish in the pools or soak their feet to cool off. The path is relatively easy to walk, but reaching the bottom is a bit strenuous. You can hike up the mountain or traverse the stream. When the current is strong, the scenery is even more worth seeing.

By Squatting and eating |

The canyon is very dangerous. I was very comfortable and missed it when I went on a tent barbecue tour with some outdoor friends.

By TaoMrGe |

The scenery is pleasant, but as a local, the ticket is really a bit expensive.

By Mu Mu Ru Shi |

It is definitely worth it to relax and enjoy the beautiful mountains and rivers. Don't expect too many artificial things. The pure beauty does not need a pavilion or a plank road to pave it.

By hai |

It's worth a visit, the air is very good and the mountain road is easy to walk.

By hai |

I bought a ticket online for 79, and it was very quick to exchange the ticket at the service center. A four or five minute walk inside is a cruise ship pier, where you need to take a boat to the canyon. The scenery is very good, and there are not many tourists on weekends. But you still need to bring some food when entering the scenic area.

By Flower Guest |

The trees are lush, the water is clear, and it's quite comfortable to feel the breeze on the cruise ship... Rather than calling it the East Zhejiang Grand Canyon, it's better to call it the East Zhejiang Grand Reservoir... Taiwan's Taroko Grand Canyon is worthy of the name of the Grand Canyon. In short, it is a good place to relax on the weekend, but don't have too high expectations.

The East Zhejiang Grand Canyon is quite famous in Zhejiang, with beautiful scenery and suitable for sightseeing.

I went there in winter. The mountains and waters are very beautiful, but it's a pity that many water sources have dried up in winter.

There are still many mountains and rivers worth visiting, which is a good place to spend a whole day.

A very peaceful valley. Not many people, but the bamboos are beautifully planted. It's like the world of a martial arts novel. No wonder the new version of "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" was filmed there.

By Cat pouncing on bear |

The most worthwhile natural landscape around Ningbo. Although the ticket is a bit expensive, it is still worth it. Remember to wear more clothes, as it will be cool there.

A famous tourist attraction with a very good environment, a good place for spring outings

By bustling |

Here, there are green mountains and clear waters, strange peaks and rocks, and Taoism and Taiyue culture are concentrated here. The canyon is quiet and the air is good. The Baixi Reservoir is good and the water quality is very clean, making it suitable for family travel.

Located in Ninghai County, Zhejiang Province, the East Zhejiang Grand Canyon is an ecological scenic area steeped in natural beauty and steeped in the essence of Taoist and Taiyue culture. It features lush mountains and clear waters, bizarre peaks and rocks, cascading streams and waterfalls, pristine forests, and modern recreational opportunities. Currently, the three major scenic areas that have been built and opened are: Dasongxi Canyon, Shuangfeng Provincial Forest Park and Feilong Lake. Dasongxi Canyon is one of the most magical and magnificent scenic areas in Tianhe Ecological Scenic Area.

By Early Summer |

I drove there when the highway was free. It was very convenient and cheap to book the boat tickets online. The water in the Grand Canyon is very clean, and you can climb the mountain after getting ashore.

By oMuri no Fengchen |

It's quite spectacular. Worth going together. The air is good.

I've been there, but I don't remember any special scenery.

By Cui Xueqiang |

It is worth going to Ninghai, with beautiful scenery and pleasant views.

By Pretend to be a hero |

The scenery is beautiful, but climbing the mountain is a bit tiring. However, you can find giant salamanders in the small stream.

By Michaux Dust |

It was an autumn outing organized by my class during my university years. I can’t remember many details, but I remember the sunlight shining through the green leaves that day, casting mottled reflections on the mountains and forests, the clear stream, the waterfalls in the mountain stream, the chirping of birds, the singing and laughter along the way, and those green years...

By Yunye Diverfly |

There are not many people in the Grand Canyon of East Zhejiang, but the scenery is good. The water in the reservoir and the mountain stream are very clear. There are also some ancient sites. You can spend a day there for food.

By Melancholic blue music box |

The mountains are green and the water is clear. Because it was a rainy day, there was fog and the mountains were shrouded in mist. It was beautiful.

By little molly |

Take a boat tour of the mountains, the water is beautiful, and the mountains are even more beautiful. During the dry season, the valley exposes the riverbed, and walking on the riverbed brings you closer to nature, which is a unique experience.

September and October are ideal for travel, as the weather is cool and the canyon is flooded. Walking up the canyon plank road, you can hear the gurgling water and the roaring waterfalls, which will brighten your mood.

By Akashi of Wall Street |

I went there with high expectations, but when I got there I found that it was very ordinary compared to canyons in other places.

By Travelers Without Borders |

Quiet valley, beautiful reservoir, worth a visit

By Su family |

I went there with friends during the National Day holiday. The road was under construction, so we went around in circles. There wasn't much fun to do. We just took a boat to the other side of the mountain and then climbed the mountain. There is also a museum on the mountain with the bed that Emperor Qianlong slept in.

By Mo Xiaomeng |

A nice place to visit on weekends.

By lilac1993 |

The scenery is very good. You must take a boat to enter. It feels like you are walking between two mountains. The temperature inside the canyon is very cool. You can climb the mountain and take the mountain trail. The route is around the canyon. It takes about 1-2 hours to go back and forth. We arrived around 3 pm, so there were not many people there. We had a lot of fun.

By lilac1993 |

By cjsrjx |

This place is a bit hard to find. Last time we went to the wrong place and ended up at the top of the mountain (there seemed to be a problem with the navigation). The scenery was nice after taking a boat in.

By Xiao Meng loves traveling |

The East Zhejiang Grand Canyon is located in Ninghai County and is a 4A-level national tourist resort.

By Chilly |

You can either go with a tour group or drive yourself. There used to be a bus up from the base of the mountain, but it stopped because it was so crowded. I was fooled by the guide I read last time and ended up walking up on my own, a winding road that took an hour and a half. To get down, you have to be at the base by 5:00 PM or you'll miss the last bus back to Ningbo.

By Deep Blue Warmth |

On September 4th, we drove two hours from Ningbo to Ninghai North, exiting the highway and following the navigation system into the East Zhejiang Grand Canyon. We had originally planned to visit Qiantong Ancient Town, but after careful consideration, we realized the ancient town tour was pretty much the same as our previous visit. My husband and I decided to take our baby to the Grand Canyon. Since we had made a last-minute decision, we couldn't buy discounted tickets online in advance. We were also short on cash, so we arrived at the ticket office and asked if we could pay with a credit card. We happily paid immediately. We held our baby in our arms, lining up for the boat ride out to the canyon. The scenery along the way was stunning, the mountain climate was comfortable, and it felt like a natural oxygen bar. The grounds were well-maintained, and there were water areas along the way, so our baby was eager to play. We walked, stopping, and carried him all the way until we reached the deepest part of the canyon, only to have to return the same way. This was quite exhausting. On the way back, my baby slept the entire way back, and my husband was exhausted carrying the sleeping baby (my baby is 22 months old). But overall, the scenery was very nice and the whole journey was beautiful. It was the first time for the baby to take a boat and travel far away, and it was also the first time for us to take him to such a far place. He behaved well. It gave us more confidence for the upcoming family trip.

By sjysr |

I went there when the company organized a trip. The scenery was pretty good.

By Little Fish Thoughts of Autumn |

The water volume is not large, and there is no special feature. It can only be said to be average.

By Prodigal Son Ba Ren |

The overall evaluation of the Grand Canyon of East Zhejiang is good. It is very rare to have such a good place in Zhejiang. Of course, it cannot be compared with the Grand Canyon in the west. In general, it is still worth recommending.

By Yunye Diverfly |

There are not many tourists here usually, so it is very quiet. Some of the scenery is worth walking around and seeing, and the water in the mountain stream is very clean.
