Tourist attractions in the southeastern area of Qiandao Lake include Huangshan Peak, Osmanthus Island, and Tianchi Island. Huangshan Peak offers an excellent view of Qiandao Lake. Climbing to the summit offers panoramic views of over 90 islands. The islands are cleverly arranged to form the Chinese character "天下为公," which is particularly lifelike and magnificent, creating a truly spectacular sight. The summit is a 20-minute walk away, or you can take a cable car up there for a round-trip fare of 50 yuan and a one-way fare of 30 yuan.

The Qiandao Lake Scenic Area consists of two scenic areas: the Central Lake Area and the Southeast Lake Area. The Southeast Lake Area route visits three islands: Huangshan Peak, Tianchi Island, and Mishan. The Thousand Island Lake entrance fee is 150 yuan, and the shuttle boat ticket to both areas is 65 yuan each. After purchasing your ticket and before boarding the boat, you must inform the staff that you will be visiting the Central Lake Area the next day. They will issue a certificate, which you will need to enter the other area the next day (a 10 yuan handling fee applies). Because group tours typically visit only one area (mostly the Central Lake Area), the Southeast Lake Area is less visited by individual travelers, resulting in very clear water. Nongfu Spring's water intake is located here, and the Thousand Island Lake promotional photo, "The World Belongs to the Public," was taken at Huangshan Peak.

It was almost noon when we arrived at the Forest Oxygen Bar, which is located on the southeastern edge of Qiandao Lake.

To be more accurate, it's a mountain, a developed, but still very primitive hill... It takes about half an hour to climb from the entrance to the top...

At the end of October, the forest oxygen bar has passed the days of gurgling creeks. If no one passes by, everything is extremely quiet.

To be honest, I seem to have fallen in love with this small hillside. I strolled leisurely without rushing or being impatient. All the green plants in the forest oxygen bar are naturally grown. Compared with artificially cultivated parks, this place has more casualness.

I like taking photos of leaves and mosses. Many mosses can secrete a liquid that slowly dissolves the surface of rocks, accelerating rock weathering and promoting soil formation. Every time I take photos of mosses, I feel like I'm living a miniature version of life.

The forest climate is mild, with minimal day-night temperature swings, weak sunlight and low UV radiation, and high humidity. In mosquito-free seasons, it's ideal for human survival. It's said that even a brief stay in the forest can provide a sense of comfort for 14 to 24 hours.

You can walk down from the forest oxygen bar, or take the slide car... The slide car can be one person or two people. When there are two people in one, it is a little, a little, a little, crowded, hehe... How to say it, each takes what he needs...

After a day of sightseeing, the overall feeling was average, not as good as expected. Most of the time was spent on the boat, which slowly moved forward on the lake, passing one island after another. It looked novel at first, but after sailing for too long, it gradually became boring. Huangshan Peak did not disappoint. Climbing to a high point and overlooking the archipelago, there was a feeling of sudden enlightenment. It was just that the scenic area charges today felt a little high. The scenic area ticket was 150 yuan, the boat ticket was 45 yuan, and after getting on the boat, you need to pay an additional 60 yuan to go to the upper level (they said that the second level has air conditioning). The Huangshan Peak cable car was 60 yuan round trip, and Tianchi Island had to cost 10 yuan to cross a cable car bridge less than 50 meters long. The charges along the way made people feel a little unhappy. I heard that the cruise ship was notified for rectification due to excessive charges some time ago. I still hope that the service quality of the scenic area will get better and better.

What is different from the Central Lake is that the scenery is super beautiful, and it is on the list of unpopular scenery. There are many islands, the lake water is clear, the natural scenery is comfortable, and it is relatively quiet.

By Dada Sheep Llama |

The wind is strong on the boat, and the scenery is beautiful. It is recommended to take the battery car and cable car on the island unless you have good leg strength. For details, please refer to the travel notes.

Qiandao Lake is one of China's first national scenic spots and is also the country's largest forest park. The southeastern part of Qiandao Lake is home to numerous islands, where flowers bloom year-round and boating on the lake is a delightful experience.

By China-TravelNote users |

The scenery at Qiandao Lake is quite nice, but the food at the restaurant on Tianchi Island (which you order on the boat) is a rip-off. They claim to have Qiandao Lake fish head, but it's just a regular silver carp head—probably not even from Qiandao Lake. The way it was cooked was absolutely terrible, completely devoid of the freshness of the fish, and the fishy smell was completely gone. The soup only tasted salty and fishy. The other dishes were simply quick bites from fast food, not freshly cooked. The portions were also woefully small. It was the first time I'd ever had such terrible food. Five dishes and a soup for over 700 yuan is nothing compared to the delicious fish head at a random small restaurant in town, where 7 dishes and a soup cost 350 yuan, and the fish head was authentic. I highly recommend not ordering food at Tianchi Island; it's completely worthless and the food is terrible.

By Chen Ming |

In comparison, the number of tourists in the southeastern lake area is much less than that in the central lake area, whether in the off-season or the peak season. Apart from the city skyscrapers looming in the distance, I think the scenery here is even better than that of Meifeng Island. Haha!

By Joanna533 |

I went there at the end of October. The weather was very good, there were few people, the scenery was nice, and it was a good place to relax.

By Fish shallow Y |

How rip-off is this place? Tickets are 185, which is pretty high, right? Once you get on board, it's like being on a pirate ship. They're trying to get you to spend money, trying to sell you grapefruit, instant noodles, sightseeing buses, speedboats, and more...

The only highlight of the entire trip is at the top of Huangshan Mountain, but in order to promote the cable car, the scenic area only stays on the island for 1 hour, leaving those who want to hike up the mountain with no choice. Please be human, we have already spent 180 on the ticket, okay?

The other islands are completely artificially developed. You can go there to watch birds and fish, and they will charge you a few dollars using the excuse that you don’t have time to walk, and ask you to take paid transportation. Because the boat schedule is fixed, you have no freedom of choice.

The most outrageous thing was that we parked at the pier during our self-driving tour for about four hours and were charged 60 yuan for parking. It was the worst rip-off I’ve ever seen!

Other places are small vendors taking advantage of loopholes, but Qiandao Lake is a trap set by the official platform! It is a disgrace to us Zhejiang people that such a good scenic spot is run like this!

By A chestnut |

The scenery is beautiful, especially the scenery at Huangshan Peak. The other two islands for entertainment are just for you to visit. The time arrangement for each island is not very reasonable. The time at Huangshan Peak is too short, and the time at the island for eating is too long.

By Concubine's Smile |

The sun was shining brightly on our visit, showcasing the stunning beauty of Qiandao Lake's merging sky and lake. It was fantastic! However, the cruise guide started by trying to sell cable car tickets, which fooled many people. The 8-minute descent saved the four of us 160 yuan in cable car fees.

There are many lakes in the scenic area...

By Misty Ranger |

Currently, Qiandao Lake tourism is divided into three routes, serving two major lake areas: Route A and Route B in the central lake area, and Route C in the southeastern lake area. Route A covers Meifeng Island, Ostrich Island, Monkey Island, and Santan Island; Route B covers Shenlong Island, Longshan Island, and Wulong Island; and Route C covers Huangshan Peak, Tianchi Lake, Mishan Island, and Osmanthus Island.

The central lake area is the main tourist hub, boasting comprehensive transportation and dining options. It's a popular destination for groups and individual travelers visiting Qiandao Lake. Meifeng Island on Route A offers a cable car to the summit for panoramic views of the islands. The southeastern lake area is less well-known and therefore less bustling. Huangshan Peak on Route C also offers panoramic views of the islands. The other islands are mostly man-made, with mandatory access.

Regardless of which route you choose, a round trip typically takes five or six hours, so you can only explore one route per day. If you don't want to eat the expensive and unpalatable lunch on the island or on the boat, remember to bring some dry food. I recommend Huangshan Peak in the southeastern lake area. During the off-season, from the 28th to the second day of the Lunar New Year, the 120 yuan entrance fee is waived, and the boat fare is only 65 yuan. You can upgrade to a VIP cabin with a better view after adding a 35 yuan tea fee.

Our first stop was Huangshan Peak. After the cruise ship docked, we took a cable car to the summit in just a few minutes. We chose to hike up, which took about twenty minutes, all along the easy-to-reach bluestone steps. Along the way, we could see islands in the lake through the trees, which only heightened our anticipation. Finally, we reached the observation deck and took in the view of the islands. Did you spot the hidden meaning?

After visiting Huangshan Peak, we headed to Tianchi Island and Mishan Island. Tianchi Island's origins lie in the Southern Song Dynasty, when Hangzhou was established as the capital. Seven stone pools were formed during the quarrying process there. The island boasts a waterfall, a suspension bridge, and a fish pond, offering a fun opportunity to feed the fish with children. On the other side of the island is a bird park, home to parrots, black swans, and ostriches. The ranger was particularly drawn to the pomelo trees near the pier, where vibrant yellow grapefruits dangled from their branches, seemingly unpredictable.

Mishan Island is essentially a place for burning incense and making wishes. It's said to be the site of the story of the three monks who ran out of water, a far-fetched tale largely fabricated for tourism development. The island boasts a mysterious path, a poetry pavilion, a cliff-carved bell, a Buddha's hand, the Main Hall, a pond for releasing animals, and the tomb where the three monks sat and passed away. We didn't hike the mountain, just wandered around the pier.

The southeastern lake area is more primitive and has more beautiful scenery than the central lake area

By Trichomonas |

The Southeast Lake District includes attractions such as Tianchi Island, Guihua Island (now Monkey Island), and Huangshan Peak (a high point overlooking the lake). We chose the more secluded Southeast Lake District to take our two children to see the monkeys. While Huangshan Peak is worth a visit, the other attractions are not recommended; barely a 4-star rating!

By Zhao Yongquan |

We traveled together to the southeastern area of Qiandao Lake and the central area of Qiandao Lake. I don't know if we joined a tour group and took one or two trips.

By Come back_sky |

Because we went there in the afternoon, we only visited two islands, which took about 4 hours. If we went there in the morning, we could have visited 3 islands, which took about 6 hours.

Everything else is basically OK, except that when you are on the cruise ship, you can choose to pay extra to go to the second floor, which is 35 yuan. But after I paid, I heard the tour guide on the boat next to me shouting that it was 20 yuan per person on the second floor. I was stunned. It turns out that this can also be bargained.

By Bobo |

There are many islands in the southeastern part of Qiandao Lake, where flowers bloom all year round and boating on the lake is very pleasant. It is a new type of ecological recreation park that integrates natural ecology with health care.

By Don't stir up a hornet's nest |

Important note: The 8:00 to 9:00 tour is seven hours long and includes Monkey Island. The 9:30 to 10:30 tour is six hours long and does not include Monkey Island, but Bird Island.

I went in February, which is the off-season. I wonder if it's the same during the peak season.

Visiting Qiandao Lake during the off-season is truly wonderful. Crowds are sparse, and wandering amidst the emerald green mountains and clear waters is truly refreshing. I was particularly struck by the lake's pristine waters. Almost every dock I visited was litter-free. The locals are very committed to environmental protection.

By Stupid |

After reading the reviews, we went straight to Dongnan Lake without hesitation. It's close to our hotel, and my husband and I both enjoy nature. The water was beautiful, the scenery was breathtaking, and the air was pleasant. We weren't disappointed. When we bought our tickets, we were told that on the day we went, we only had to pay for the boat ticket, and the entrance fee was free. How lucky! Incidentally, the boat has two decks. The first deck allows you to sit inside the cabin and admire the scenery, while the second deck allows you to exit the cabin at any time for a 360-degree view. This is a bit of a rip-off. I personally think the 60-yuan ticket should include the second deck, which is on a first-come, first-served basis. That's just my personal opinion. Overall, I was very satisfied with the trip, and choosing to travel before the New Year was a smart move. I'd definitely go again!

By Square-headed lion |

The lake water is clear, the scenery is beautiful, the air is high-quality, and the fish are fresh and delicious.

By I walk alone through the mountains |

Those of you who follow me and look at my travel history will know that I rarely travel domestically, mainly because I'm afraid of getting ripped off. While the Qiandao Lake tickets are not cheap, the package I bought on Fliggy included tickets, a boat tour, and the Huangshan Peak cable car. The original price was 215 yuan. My wife paid the original price in Shanghai, but I got a discount of 165 yuan for Zhejiang residents. Children under 1.2 meters are free, so the total cost for two adults and one child was 280 yuan. There were really no hidden or forced fees. Compared to other places in China and Southeast Asia, it's truly a haven. It was a rare trip to a popular domestic destination without feeling irritated. The boat left at 1:00 PM, and the southeastern lake area was relatively uncrowded and very relaxing. The staff at Baisui Bridge had gone off duty, so we didn't collect any money. Due to time constraints, we didn't go to the central lake area, but the tour guide said Huangshan Peak is probably the most essential attraction in Qiandao Lake, and because it's higher up, it's much better than Meifeng Island. I had a blast and applaud the tourism professionals in Zhejiang.

By Aisi |

The Huangshan Peak Scenic Area offers stunning scenery, but the subsequent visits to the two islands really dampened my mood. Monkey Island has a large number of free-range monkeys, and there's a show, but we chose not to watch it. Clearly wary of accidents, the management has divided the staff into sections, so strolling around becomes a constant, close-knit environment.

Even worse is the issue on Tianchi Island: a cable bridge, barely ten meters long, dubbed the "Centennial Bridge," charges a 3-yuan toll, forcing visitors to take a detour. Similar suspension bridges are common in many parks and scenic areas across China, and I've never encountered one charging a fee. The staff not only refused to explain, but were downright rude.

There was a Chinese restaurant on the boat, with à la carte and set meals priced at 300, 500, and 800. We chose the cheapest option, thinking it would be better for six people than a boxed lunch. We were completely mistaken. The fish was dead, and the soybeans were stale from overnight. The only food we could eat was fried onions and eggs, which was still manageable. It's best to bring instant noodles or other dry food with you when visiting Qiandao Lake, otherwise you'll be ripped off and your mood will be ruined.

Parking is charged hourly at 6 yuan per hour, or 40 yuan per car, which is quite outrageous nationwide. It's truly puzzling. Traveling to a place as close as Zhejiang, and certainly to many other places in China, you have to be wary of being ripped off. Meanwhile, when traveling to less developed Southeast Asian countries like Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia, you can rest assured on lake and sea cruises, as they offer fair prices and excellent value for money. And that's not even mentioning Western countries like Australia. Why is it that the management of such a beautiful scenic spot in Zhejiang always leaves people feeling uneasy?

By Prophecy Cat |

Generally speaking, Qiandao Lake is a tourist attraction for consumption and vacation, and you won’t get much of a feeling from just a quick visit.

By Proud Eagle |

The ticket price is relatively expensive, 210 yuan per person, and the total journey takes about 6 hours, divided into three islands: Osmanthus Island, Tianchi Island, and Huangshan Peak.

By Zhang Feiteng |

There are relatively few people here, but the natural scenery is beautiful and it's a good place to spend half a day.

By Wendy's World Tour |

We debated for a long time whether to go to the Central Lake area or the Southeast Lake area, as we were traveling with both children and elderly. Ultimately, we chose the Southeast Lake area's 1:00 PM boat. We bought our tickets an hour early and were immediately on board. The first floor had air conditioning, but the doors were open, so the heat wasn't a big deal. The second floor had two private rooms: one at the bow and one on the deck. The air conditioning was cool, and hot tea and mineral water were provided. We could go to the deck to take photos and enjoy the breeze, but it cost an extra 35 yuan per person. The bow deck was a great location for beautiful photos, and since it wasn't a weekend, it felt like a chartered boat. My family was very happy. The morning boat visited three islands, and the afternoon boat visited two. The tours took about the same amount of time, meaning the afternoon was more relaxing, while the other island was just for fun. The air conditioning and fans were turned off at the dock when the boat arrived, and only turned back on more than half an hour before departure. The cold air inside hadn't dissipated, and the deck was quite windy, so even those who didn't go to the islands could just stay there. Huangshan Peak has steps all the way to the top, so you have to climb to the top to enjoy the view. It was a bit tiring. The second island, Tianchi, seemed to be enough to just explore the fish. There is a long way to go to the bird park, which is good for children to play in. Adults are not very interested.

By Guo Guo |

I personally think the scenery in the southeastern lake area and the places to visit and play on the island are better than those in the central lake area, and there are relatively fewer people. The central lake area is too commercialized.

By trip, |

I didn't go to the central lake area. After reading some travelogues, I decided to only go to Southeast Lake, which is less commercialized. Osmanthus Island is for monkey watching, but the only time it opens at 8:30 am is... Tianchi Island is for bird watching, and Huangshan Peak offers panoramic views. Basically, it covers all the characteristics of Thousand Island Lake. As the lake with the most islands in the world, it's still worth a visit.

By .FORMATION. |

We took a boat tour of the three islands. The central lake area and the southeast area were similar, but the southeast area was less crowded. So we chose the latter. The scenery was indeed stunning. However, the 35 yuan surcharge for the second deck was bizarre. Such a shameless clause is unbelievable in a 5A hotel.

The Qiandao Lake Scenic Area is named after its 1,078 emerald islands. The peaks on both sides of the Xin'an River are so steep that it has historically been known as the "Thousand Peaks County." Water is the main feature of the Qiandao Lake Scenic Area. Mountains, water, islands, and forests constitute a unique tourist resource. Towering mountains surround the clear waters of the lake, and the emerald islands of varying sizes are scattered across the vast expanse of blue water, creating a refreshing and delightful experience.

By Smile |

The parking fees in the Central Lake District and the Southeast Lake District are relatively expensive. This is the first time I have encountered a scenic spot that charges by time when traveling to many places by car. The absolute upper limit for a boat ride back is 40 yuan on weekdays and 60 yuan during the Golden Week holiday. The Southeast Lake District will go to three islands depending on the boarding time. If you want to go to Monkey Island, you can only board the boat before 9 o'clock. If you buy a ticket for one lake district, remember to find the tour guide on the boat to arrange for a next-day tour, and stop when you get off the boat. In this way, you only need ten yuan and a boat ticket to go to another lake district for a next-day tour tomorrow.

By Fish that keeps swimming |

Qiandao Lake is beautiful, with excellent air quality, and the fish head is worth a try. The only problem is the high ticket price, as there are additional expenses like cable cars and electric cars. Our trip to the Southeast Lakes region included three attractions: Huangshan Peak, Mishan Island, and Tianchi Island, a total of about five hours.

Our first stop was Huangshan Peak, which took less than 20 minutes to reach, and even quicker to descend. We didn't need to take the cable car; we spent 40 minutes on the island, mainly to enjoy the panoramic view from the top. True to its name, Thousand Island Lake boasts a vast array of islands, large and small, dotted across the Xin'an River like strings of pearls scattered across the lake. The islands we saw were even arranged in the shape of a Chinese character "公" (Chinese character for "公")!

The second stop is Mishan Island. There is a Mishan Zen Temple on the mountain where you can burn incense for free. Legend has it that the story of three monks who had no water to drink happened here.

The third stop is Tianchi Island, which is the largest island among the three scenic spots. In fact, there is no need to take an electric car. I am also drunk that there is a fee to cross the Baisui Bridge. You can visit the bird park, which has various parrots, peacocks, guinea fowls, ostriches, etc. There are also many unfamiliar birds. Children should like it very much.

By I love drinking juice |

Of the two lake area routes, I chose the one in the southeast lake area, because I was heading to Tianchi Island. The weather was nice. It was cloudy in the morning, but sunny at noon, so I was able to take such beautiful photos. Hehe, the scenery was great. Standing on the boat and feeling the wind, it was so comfortable that I couldn't describe it!

By Coffee Lee |

In the Southeast Lake area, you have to wait to buy tickets. The reason is said to be that there are no boats. It's the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, and there are serious issues with ferry scheduling! The ticket details are not explained before you buy it. The three islands only stay for an hour. They say this is enough time if everything goes well. But if you have children and there are delays waiting for the cable car to Huangshan Peak (which is inevitable during holidays), then you're done! I was on Friendship No. 1 and reported the problem. The female server was rude: "Other people can make it, why can't you?!" What kind of LA JI GOU PI service is this?

Qiandao Lake is beautiful, it’s a pity I won’t come next time!

By 11 |

Personally, I think it is much better than the Central Lake Scenic Area. The scenery is very beautiful and there is less commercial atmosphere. If you go to the Central Lake Scenic Area in order, it is recommended to go first, otherwise you will be very disappointed. The boats at 9 o'clock and after 10 o'clock go to different islands. The boats before 9 o'clock go to Osmanthus Island, also known as Monkey Island, and the boats after 9 o'clock go to Sanmi Island.

By HKU |

The scenery is nice, but the price of the boat trip is a bit high.

I recommend you stay for half a day. The last boat seems to be at 1:30 pm. We went to buy tickets at 2 pm and they were sold out. The reason is that this boat trip takes 5 hours round trip. It was dark when we left at 1 pm and returned.

The most classic one is of course Huangshan Peak. It seems that there are also tourists who don’t have time. After playing Huangshan Peak, a few people can get together at the pier and call a speedboat to go back.

The attractions in the Qiandao Lake area generally have a sense of greed. You have to pay for everything. Crossing a bridge, burning incense, or watching a performance always requires spending a little money, which tarnishes the beauty of the lake and mountains.

The view from Huangshan Peak is worth a visit. I personally think it is better than Meifeng Island. You can also visit Bird Island.

The Southeast Lake District has attractions such as Mishan Island, which is worth visiting.

By Ren Aiyue Wuhen |

There are many islands in the southeastern part of Qiandao Lake, where flowers bloom all year round and boating on the lake is very pleasant. It is a new type of ecological recreation park that integrates natural ecology with health care.

Qiandao Lake, with its thousands of islands, beautiful waters, and golden belt, is known for its scenic beauty. One of China's first national scenic spots and the country's largest forest park, Qiandao Lake is a shining pearl on the "Hangzhou-Qiandao Lake-Huangshan" golden tourism route, renowned for its mountains, waters, and cities. Qiandao Lake welcomes over 5 million visitors annually, earning it a place among the National Civilized Forest Parks. It has been recognized by Taiwanese tourists and media as one of the three top tourist destinations for Taiwanese citizens visiting mainland China, alongside Beijing and the Three Gorges.

We visited the central lake area on the first day, and on the second day, we added 75 yuan (10 yuan handling fee plus 65 yuan boat ticket) to the next day's tour. So, I think I have some opinions on the central lake area's scenery. Huangshan Peak in the southeast lake area and Meifeng Island in the central lake area are both high-altitude locations for viewing the beauty of Thousand Island Lake. Personally, I think Huangshan Peak offers much more beautiful views than Meifeng Island. I recommend taking the cable car up there for 50 yuan per person round trip, which saves time with the tour group and leaves more time to enjoy the scenery. There's also a snapshot booth there for 20 yuan for two photos, which is more reliable than the ones on Meifeng Island. I recommend taking some photos; after all, they'll be better than those taken by us beginners.

Drive to the Central Lake District. I have been to the Southeast Lake District but did not buy a ticket. The Central and Western Lake District is more famous.

By Mr. Baozi |

The scenery is beautiful. It's best to catch the 9 o'clock boat. This is the only boat that goes to Osmanthus Island. Monkey Island is more interesting. The subsequent boats will not go to Osmanthus Island. There is a temple on the island. It is said that it is the temple of three monks who had no water to drink. But it is probably a story made up for commercial purposes.

The Southeast Lake District has fewer people than the Central Lake District, but it is a little further from Qiandao Lake Square. From the top of Huangshan Mountain, you can see the Chinese character "天下为公" (public).

Qiandao Lake in the rain looks more like a Chinese ink painting, spreading out before us.

Qiandao Lake has many lake areas, including the central lake area and the southeast lake area. Generally, you can only choose one lake area to visit in one day. Southeast Lake Area: There are fewer people than the central lake area. Those who like a quieter scenic area can choose here. The islands are mainly natural scenery, which is also my choice this time.

Huangshan Peak is the most beautiful. After reaching the top, you can see all the small islands. The mountain is not very high. You can see more than 90 different islands and may see towns in the distance. These islands will show the four words "天下为公" (The world belongs to the public) when viewed from all angles.

Tianchi Island and Bird Island. Tianchi Island is said to be an ancient quarry. The pits left by quarrying were used to store water and raise fish, which became Tianchi Island. In addition, Bird Island is home to various birds. These two places are very suitable for parent-child travel. I will introduce them in detail below.

There is a temple on Mishan Island. It is said that the story of three monks who had no water to drink happened here.

Southeast Lake cruise departure times: 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 13:00 every day Ticket prices:

The ticket price for Qiandao Lake alone is 150 yuan, and the cruise ticket price is 215 yuan. (Qiandao Lake has two scenic areas: the central lake area and the southeast lake area. You can only visit one area per day. You need to pay a fee to apply for a second day tour during your visit. You can continue to enter the area.)

Special populations:

1. Children between 1.2m and 1.5m in height can purchase a child ticket for RMB 75 + RMB 35 for the boat ticket. Children under 1.2m in height can purchase a free ticket.

Southeast Lake District, although not well-known, has excellent natural scenery, especially the Huangshan Peak, which is very spectacular. Boating on the lake is also very pleasant and worth recommending. Friends who like natural scenery are recommended to go to Southeast Lake District instead of Central Lake District even if they are in a hurry.

I think everyone who goes to Hangzhou will visit Qiandao Lake.

By Over the way |

Qiandao Lake has three main lake areas, and the forms and contents of the tours are similar. The central lake area was developed earlier, and tour groups usually go there, so it is also crowded. If you are an individual traveler, I recommend the southeast lake area, which is quiet and the scenery is definitely not bad.

By Geoffrey the Giraffe |

It feels good to look at the big and small islands and take a leisurely cruise.

By cherry_mum |

The southeastern lake area is very large and the water is very good, no less than the central lake area, but there are fewer people than there.

By yuanbaomm |

If you have already planned to go, remember to apply for tickets for the next day before boarding the boat for the first time. The fee is 10 yuan per person. You don't need to buy tickets to the southeast lake area, just the boat ticket. Prices are generally lower than those in the central lake area.

It was nice to watch the scenery from the boat. It was the last boat so we missed one island, but to be honest, the scenery from Huangshan Peak was the best. The Bird Island didn't have any special features, and the Island for Burning Incense was even worse.

By Zhu Erer |

The environment is very nice, but I was seasick and didn't have time to watch it.

Qiandao Lake is a famous scenic spot in Hangzhou and a must-see attraction. Qiandao Lake Hotel is great.

By Quit coffee today |

It is said to be the route with the best water quality. In fact, it felt like the boat didn’t go very far before reaching the island. We stopped at two islands and the scenery was nice at both.

We took the last boat trip at 1:00 PM, visiting only two islands: Huangshan Peak and Tianchi Island. The total tour lasted four hours, of which the boat trip took over an hour and a half. We arrived at Huangshan Peak first, where the boat crew kept asking us to take the cable car. The round-trip ride cost 50 yuan per person, and the ride only lasted 50 minutes, which was quite stressful. The climb took 15 minutes, and we only had 10 minutes to take photos. We were so busy that we could see the island, which was formed by the Chinese characters "天下为公" (meaning "world for the public"). The second island, Tianchi Island, was only given an hour and 20 minutes to explore. Most people climbed to Baisui Bridge and returned, while some continued on to Bird Island, where crossing the bridge cost 3 yuan per person. The attraction itself was filled with fees, and the tour schedule was poorly planned. It was a place you'd never visit again, and the scenery was mediocre. It was completely worth the price.

Qiandao Lake has beautiful scenery, picturesque and refreshing.

By That-Shangyue |

It is not a popular route to begin with, and it is even quieter in winter. There were only two groups of 20 of us on the entire trip, so the whole journey from boat ride to island tour was very refreshing. Although there are only two islands, Huangshan Peak and Tianchi Island, the scenery and fun are much better than the central lake area route we took the next day.

By White and black |

There are many people, and the purpose of foreign tourists going there is not only to see the scenery, but also because the fish heads there are particularly delicious.

By Mini West |

There are fewer people than in the central lake area, so if you prefer a quieter area, this is the place to go. The bus is also not very crowded, but if you want to go to the second floor deck, you need to pay an additional fee, which seems to be 30 yuan per person. The island is mainly about natural scenery.

By rim-8 |

The southeastern lake area has fewer tourists, but the transportation is not very convenient and it is far from Qiandao Lake Town. The scenery is better than the central lake area.

By Tianke |

As I was afraid that the central lake area would be too crowded, I went to the southeast lake area and took a boat tour to various islands. Overall, I was very satisfied. However, when I went there during the Spring Festival, there were only two islands, Huangshanjian and Tianchi.

By autodindin |

Maybe because the pier is far from the town center, only tour groups and self-driving tourists go there, so there are fewer people and it is more comfortable to visit.

By Promise |

Since we went with a tour group, we were in a hurry and didn't have a chance to explore the lake in detail. If I have the chance, I will choose to go there by myself and take a slow tour of Qiandao Lake.

By Water Moon White |

I didn't go to the Central Lake District, which was highly recommended online, because it was said to be quite commercial. I went to the slightly less popular Southeast Lake District instead, which was quite good.
