Qiongtai Fairy Valley was developed two years ago on the site of the Tongbai Reservoir. Within the scenic area, lush green mountains blend seamlessly into the water. With Lingxi Creek as its central feature, the canyon winds its way from north to south. The steep cliffs on either side, with their numerous peaks and unusual rock formations, create a canyon wonderland. Renowned for its ancient beauty, secluded surroundings, tranquility, and unique charm, the scenic area is also known as the "Little Huangshan Mountain."

A place of mountains, water, spirits, and immortals, it's truly worth a visit. There are two entrances: one at the foot of the mountain, and one at an altitude of 400 meters. Cars can drive up, while people enter through the main gate at the top and then walk down. We took the opposite approach, entering from the main gate at the bottom. The scenery was breathtaking from the start, and the hike wasn't too tiring after all.

By Solitary Traveler |

Tiantai Qiongtai Fairy Valley offers a magical hike shrouded in mist. Deep canyons and cascading waterfalls create a dynamic landscape painting. Ascending the steps, you'll be greeted by towering ancient trees, and each step is filled with a celestial aura, leaving you feeling relaxed and refreshed, as if you've stepped into a paradise where worldly worries vanish.

By lilac1993 |

Take the scenic area shuttle bus to the drop-off area. Climb all the way up and the scenery will become more and more beautiful. After reaching the top, you can buy a ticket and take the shuttle bus down the mountain. The whole journey takes about 2 hours. If you walk down the mountain, it may take ten kilometers.

By Ajin |

Qiongtai Fairy Valley is a geological attraction with granite landform. Remember, you must enter the mountain from the upper exit. From top to bottom, there is no need to climb the mountain, which is relatively easy. Compared with entering from the lower exit from bottom to top, the mountain road and scenery are the same.

By China-TravelNote user 79272129 |

Not good. Unless it's on your way, I don't recommend visiting. The road down the mountain is very dangerous. There is no scenery on the way. There is a little scenery at the bottom, but it's boring. It's crowded during the Spring Festival. It's better to stay at home in the future. Zhejiang is full of mountains and rivers, so it's better to visit during the flood season. It's the dry season now, and there is no scenery. Moreover, this mountain is not high, and there is no sea of clouds on the top of the mountain. It's boring. P.S. Huangshan Sanqingshan is good, this kind of mountain is really boring.

It's so beautiful, walking down the mountain, you can see all the small mountains.

By Johnny_Lau |

On the way to the scenic area, you will pass by a reservoir, which is suitable for aerial photography. The parking lot is relatively small, and cars are parked casually on the roadside. It is better not to charge parking fees. The scenic area is not big. It takes about two or three hours to walk down from the top of the mountain. The first section of the narrow road from the top of the mountain is very steep and rugged. It is recommended to wear non-slip shoes. On the way down the mountain, you can see that there is often fog rising in the valley. There is a stream waterfall at the bottom of the valley. The whole scenic area is quite ordinary and has no special features. It is no different from most canyons in Jiangnan. The artificial waterfall at the entrance and exit of the scenic area is quite beautiful.

Don’t come if you’re afraid of heights! You can’t get down after going up!!!

By Lost splendor |

The scenic area has upper and lower entrances, and there is a shuttle bus between the two entrances. It was raining lightly on the day I went there, which was quite appropriate.

By Cute winter |

I highly recommend this attraction, it's the most beautiful place in Taizhou. I feel that the Shenxianju I went to is still as beautiful as this one.

By miss gold |

The scenery at the lower entrance of the scenic area is okay, but there are no surprises when going upstream along the valley. Although the hanging plank road is also a highlight, there are too many such plank roads, so there is no feeling here.

By olive tree |

There's a vending machine at the entrance selling cookies, drinks, and eight-treasure porridge. The shuttle bus between the upper and lower entrances costs 10 yuan each way, with the last bus departing at 5:00 PM. While the Huading Scenic Area is primarily mountainous, the Shiliang Scenic Area is primarily water-based, and the Qiongtai Scenic Area offers a combination of both, making it the most comprehensive of the Tiantai Mountain scenic areas. The Qiongtai Fairy Valley Scenic Area is roughly divided into two sections: the first section includes the Eight Immortals Lake (an artificial lake) and a stream, and the lower entrance is a gentle uphill climb. The second section features the Lingyun Plank Road, a steep, approximately 800-meter-long plank path. We walked backwards, going from the upper entrance to the lower entrance, at a very slow pace, but the entire journey took only two hours. Just after entering, there's a so-called Huangdi Altar, which is quite unremarkable. A lone peak in the valley not far ahead is quite impressive. However, reaching Qiongtai requires descending a series of uneven, unguarded steps, followed by a climb up the steep steps. The scenic area management posted a sign warning the elderly and children against going there. It looked even more dangerous than Laozhai Mountain in Xingping, Yangshuo, and there were no protective measures. Because of the heavy rain the previous day, the pool was noticeably murky, a slight drawback. The exit was a power station dam with a covered bridge. The water downstream was filtered by the dam, making it noticeably clearer. There were no illegal taxis or food services at the lower entrance of Qiongtai Scenic Area. There was a sign at the entrance to the rest room with the mobile phone number of the scenic area's shuttle bus manager. To take a bus to the upper entrance, there were always available; just wait by the roadside. To return to the visitor center, you had to contact the management, but the staff were quite friendly.

There are two entrances, one above and one below. It is one of the filming locations of The Legend of Fuyao. There is a scene in the sixth episode that shows the Fairy Valley of Qiongtai.

By Big Hae Walking |

The canyon is quiet and beautiful, and it is said that Xu Xiake also came here to visit. Personally, I think it is better to walk from the bottom to the bottom.

Went there twice, it was so good, I wouldn't go back.

The saying "After visiting the Five Sacred Mountains, you won't want to see any other mountains; after visiting Qiongtai, you won't want to see any other valleys" describes Mount Tiantai in Zhejiang. The mountain boasts the tranquil and beautiful Qiongtai Fairy Valley, with steep cliffs and a plank road above them. On rainy days, when clouds and mist rise, walking on the plank road feels like riding on clouds. The area also boasts cascading waterfalls and clear streams, the emerald green water of which rivals that of Jiuzhaigou.

By The 1001st little dream |

The scenery of Qiongtai Fairy Valley completely exceeded my expectations. The Qiongtai Fairy Valley scenic area covers an area of 7.3 square kilometers and is a typical granite geological landscape. The scenic area has two entrances, the upper entrance and the lower entrance. This time we entered from the upper entrance and toured the entire scenic area from top to bottom, which saved both physical strength and time. Standing on the top of the mountain, you can see all the small mountains.

When you are in it, you can truly feel that human existence is like a speck of dust in the world, and all troubles can be resolved.

By fox |

The mountains are clear and the water is green, the scenery is charming, and it is suitable for a slow tour.

By Yingying |

The Tiantai Scenic Area is a must-see. The 65 yuan ticket feels very worthwhile. It was drizzling on the day of the visit, which led to a sharp drop in the number of tourists. I made a plan in advance and walked down from the upper entrance. There are about 8,000 steps along the way. It's not tiring, but the plank road is quite dangerous. The scenery is beautiful. It's suitable for taking pictures. It really feels like a fairyland.

By There is ample time |

I saw this post this morning and decided to go. I was not disappointed. It is worth a visit! It’s just that there are too many people and too few buses going up and down the mountain, so the wait is a bit long.

By The weary bird knows how to return |

The mountain roads are steep and the scenery is beautiful. Even during holidays, there are not many people. It is worth a visit.

By What is Ru |

The scenic spot is very good, but if you drive here, it's okay to take a taxi. You can't go back at all. You have to walk back step by step. If you are lucky, you may meet a taxi. If you are unlucky, you can only blame yourself.

And it's impossible to get a Didi taxi. It's too far away and the public service is very poor. The female waiter is very picky.

By Fox's Play |

We went there in autumn. The weather was clear and cool, very comfortable. We had a great time participating in the activities organized by our company. It was not tiring at all. It is suitable for all ages and is a short weekend trip. There is always a place that will make you say "wow". I like the twin waterfalls on the other side of the bridge that flow down into the clear pool. The water is icy and very comfortable. If it were summer, I would definitely go there to have a good time. Haha, photos can never capture the true beauty.

The beauty of Qiongtai Fairy Valley is like a fairyland on earth. Being in it really makes people linger. There are all kinds of beauty along the way.

By Smart Chicken |

Qiongtai Fairy Valley, located 8 kilometers northwest of Tiantai County in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, covers an area of 7.3 square kilometers and features a typical granite geological landscape. The scenic area is characterized by a stream sandwiched between two mountains, and a pumped-storage power station has been built to suit the terrain. The steep and varied mountainous terrain, the upper and lower reservoirs, and the rippling emerald waters dotted with numerous small waterfalls create a breathtaking scenery.

By Mr. Three Stones |

Qiongtai Wonderland is nice and the scenery is beautiful. It is a place worth visiting twice.

By tony_hu |

It was rated five stars when I went there. Overall, the scenic area of Datiantai is ok and suits my taste.

By Grand debut |

Public transportation is not very convenient. There are no direct buses to Qiongtai from the North Bus Station. You have to take Bus No. 2 to Bus No. 8 and then walk a long way. Alternatively, you can take Bus No. 5 to the distribution center and transfer to the scenic area bus for 10 yuan per person, but it's also quite a walk to the distribution center. If you're traveling with three or four people, I recommend taking a taxi directly from the North Bus Station to the upper entrance. The metered fare is 35 yuan. If you don't use the meter, you can scan your license plate and go directly to the scenic area to complain to the staff.

The park opens at 8:00 AM, but the staff are usually late, never early, and their attitude is indifferent. There's free Wi-Fi and self-service luggage storage in the lobby, but since non-drivers are entering and exiting, it doesn't seem necessary. Tickets are 65 yuan per person.

The scenery is stunning, but the signposts lack images, making them difficult to identify. The first half of the hike is mountainous, the middle section features a waterfall, and the second half is water. Exiting the lower entrance feels like an abrupt transition from the scenic beauty. The entire tour takes over three hours.

There are shuttle buses between the upper and lower entrances, but the intervals can be quite long. If you can catch one, you can take it to the No. 8 bus stop. The walk from the lower entrance to the No. 8 bus stop takes half an hour, passing the reservoir. The weather determines whether the scenery is beautiful or unremarkable.

If you are in Tiantai, the must-see places are Qiongtai Fairy Valley and Guoqing Temple.

Guoqing Temple is always crowded with people burning incense, worshipping Buddha and making wishes. The incense is very popular and there are many Buddha statues in the temple.

Qiongtai Fairy Valley is very beautiful, and its water reminds me of an article by Zhu Ziqing called "Green".

By Argentine ants |

I was so tired when I climbed this mountain. It is the former residence of Jigong, Tiantai County, the source of Buddhism and Taoism.

By Little Yunyun is white and fat |

Qiongtai Fairy Valley has two entrances, one at the upper and one at the lower. Drivers can park in the scenic area's free parking lot and purchase a minibus ticket to either entrance. Please note that the upper entrance is for a tour bus, which has one seat per person and no standing allowed. Tickets are 10 yuan per person and can be purchased at a small tent in the parking lot. The lower entrance is for a public bus, which allows standing passengers and costs 2 yuan per person. Tickets must be paid to the staff at the bus door upon boarding.

We chose the upper entrance, and the walk from top to bottom took a little over two hours. Qiongtai Fairy Valley has a few unique viewpoints, and the photos taken online are pretty much all from the same angle. For example, from Qiongtai, we took photos of the valley, Lingyun Plank Road, Baizhang Cliff Waterfall, Wangxian Bridge, Xianhu Jiyun, Lingbo Plank Road, and Xianhu Covered Bridge, which basically capture the essence of the entire scenic area.

By Diaspora |

Another scenic spot in Tiantai Mountain, Qiongtai Fairy Valley, is renowned for its grandeur, unique beauty, and seclusion. A two-hour tour highlights the grand granite canyon, boasting peaks, rock formations, pools, and waterfalls, as well as the Yellow Emperor Altar. Entering the scenic area from the lower entrance at 9:30 AM, you'll pass through two caves and be greeted by a sudden, expansive view of the emerald waters of Baxian Lake. A 40-meter-long corridor spans the lake's exit, while a 25-meter-high waterfall towers over the water, creating a breathtaking spectacle. After crossing the corridor, you'll slowly walk along the lakeside plank path toward the scenic area. The mountains on either side are craggy and steep, and on the other side, a winding Lingxi River rises along the hillside. Along the way, you'll encounter attractions such as the Hanging Corridor, the Wuzhen Altar, and the Wangxian Bridge.

About an hour later, I saw the characters "Xiju Dongtian" (Resisting Living Cave Heaven). Passing through the cave, I heard the thundering sound of water. Stepping in, I saw a cascading waterfall cascading into a turquoise lake. This was Baizhang Waterfall. Li Bai once wrote, "A hundred feet of white cliffs crack, the crimson walls of the four mountains open. Water gushes from the dragon pool, creating wind and thunder day and night." There was still an hour until the meeting time, so since I was already there, I decided to meet up with my girlfriend and go visit the Yellow Emperor Altar at the top of the mountain.

Starting from the "Tongtian" archway, we quickly climbed along the Lingyun Plank Road. After about 10 minutes, we reached the Mountain God Temple on the mountainside. This spot offers expansive views and stunning scenery, offering stunning views of both the peaks and the canyon. It's now a small shop selling water and other items, so many people give up after climbing here. I asked the tourists descending the mountain how much time we had left to reach the summit, and they said ten minutes. Okay, let's keep going. The plank road ascends straight up, with little to no flat ground. The more we hiked, the more tired we became. The ten minutes felt longer than half an hour. At 10:50, we saw a bridge at the summit, marking the start of the flat road. Seeing we were running out of time, we quickly ran to the Yellow Emperor Altar, missing the Immortal Constellation. About 10 minutes later, we arrived at the Yellow Emperor Altar. The massive stone altar was majestic and awe-inspiring. After snapping a few photos, we dashed off. Halfway up the mountain, tourists told us there was another exit from the summit, where a minibus would take us to the base for 10 yuan. Wow. Well, you can’t turn around after you get off, but you can still revisit the attractions you visited when you came here.

One of the main scenic areas of Tiantai, it has two exits, one for the lower one and the other for the upper one. We parked at the lower one and took a local "illegal taxi" for about 15 kilometers to the upper one (the price was actually quite reasonable, generally around 80-100 yuan). This way, we could enjoy the scenery all the way down from the top, saving us the fatigue of the climb. The scenery at the top is beautiful, with an altar, a waterfall on the mountainside, a reservoir at the bottom, and a newly built covered bridge, which is a common sight in promotional photos. It was quite beautiful and the 55 yuan entrance fee was well worth it.

By FFFFFF |

It is so beautiful, with picturesque scenery, towering mountains and steep cliffs, and it is the residence of immortals. The ticket price is also cheaper than other attractions. It is a must-see place when you go to Tiantai.

By Traveling around the world |

The canyon is quiet, the scenery is spectacular, and it is easy to tour from top to bottom.

A place that must be recommended. The scenery is very beautiful and the cliffs are very dangerous. I want to take my parents there again next time.

By Yang Dazhuang |

Not only have literary giants since the Jin and Tang dynasties left their mark, but even religious leaders have taken a liking to this auspicious location. "The Source of Buddhism and Taoism," this place, adjacent to the ancestral temple of the Tiantai School of Buddhism, is also the birthplace of Zhang Boduan's Southern Quanzhen Dao (Wang Chongyang's Quanzhen Dao was known as the Northern School). It's a truly wonderful destination, both from a natural and cultural perspective. Lush green mountains and verdant trees, we strolled slowly along the mountain paths, passing through numerous caves, breathing in the fresh air, free from the smog, and listening to the laughter and songs of our companions.

By Blue |

The scenery is good and suitable for a stroll.

By SophinaT |

I went there on New Year's Day one year. There are many filming locations for costume dramas there. It's worth a visit.

By Because I don't love |

The scenery is natural and beautiful. There are buses going up and down the mountain only on holidays. On weekdays, you can only take a scalper car, which costs 20 yuan per person. The driver is a bit old and drifts on the mountain road. It is recommended to go from the top to the bottom! !

By cold autumn wind |

This is a typical granite canyon scenic area, known as the Little Huangshan. As you head north along the canyon, you'll encounter cliffs, peaks, emerald waters, and waterfalls. The scenery becomes increasingly breathtaking as you ascend. Excellent service and a beautiful valley.

By White clouds leisurely |

The perfect combination of beautiful natural scenery, profound Taoist cultural heritage and the majestic modern engineering project is fascinating.

By 504459533 |

This place is amazing and very, very beautiful. I still remember it vividly and want to go again!

By Mo Tu Tu |

Perhaps due to the abundant water during the rainy season, the waterfall is incredibly powerful, its thunderous crashing sound audible from a hundred meters away. The water vapor that rises from the pool permeates the surrounding mountain stream like mist, nourishing the surrounding rocks so that emerald green ferns grow.

Li Bai once wrote a poem about Baizhang Cliff Waterfall:

The hundred-foot-high white cliff is cracked, and the red walls of the four mountains are opened.

The dragon pond erupts, causing wind and thunder day and night.

Perhaps only by actually walking here can you feel the grandeur that is not even remotely captured in the picture.

By Begging for food |

We went up and down the original route. We went there during the summer vacation. The weather was too hot, so we only thought the waterfall was nice and it was pleasant to play in the stream.

As for the scenery, I don't have much impression. Only the pavilion at the entrance remains in my memory.

I recommend Xiuyuan Food, try the local food, it's quite unique.

Qiongtai Fairy Valley is a tranquil and beautiful spot within the Tiantai Mountain Scenic Area. It boasts a typical granite landscape. Along the way, the path is flanked by towering cliffs, steep peaks, and treacherous rocks. Rivers are clear, and there are waterfalls. The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful, making it a particularly charming spot. It feels like you're truly immersed in a fairy valley, but reaching the summit requires considerable stamina. Be sure to wear sneakers, as the steps are quite steep in some areas.

By gillianhu |

I went there on a business trip in mid-October 2013. I took a taxi from Guoqing Temple to the summit early in the morning and then walked down from the summit. I was pretty much alone the entire time. The scenery was beautiful and relaxing. I sat quietly for a long time at the lake at the foot of the mountain, taking in the view, before leaving the area.

This is a scenic spot with unique features and beautiful scenery in Zhejiang. I have been there twice and I like it very much.

By vegetable garden |

It's beautiful and has a very spiritual feel, but the upper entrance seems to be under renovation. There's a food stall in the middle that serves delicious burritos. Public transportation is poor, and the parking lot is far from the entrance. There are no cars after 5 pm, so you either have to take a taxi or walk.

By Brother Xiqi |

The Qiongtai Fairy Valley Scenic Area is essentially a miniature version of the Shenxianju (Shenxianju) complex, but the area isn't as well-developed as the Shenxianju area. In particular, there's no shuttle bus between the upper and lower entrances, which gives local illegal taxi drivers an undeniable advantage. The 80 yuan per taxi is non-negotiable. Most tourists who visit Qiongtai Fairy Valley by car park at the bottom of the mountain and take an illegal taxi to the upper entrance, making it easier to explore from the top to the bottom. The scenic area doesn't have many unique features, but thankfully, few people know about it. We visited in the afternoon and felt like we had the entire area to ourselves. It was a relaxing and leisurely experience, and three hours was more than enough for us to explore. It's definitely worth a visit.

By [Must be wrong] |

By Victor Yu |

The scenic area doesn't open until 8:30, and the ticket seller wasn't there when we arrived. There didn't seem to be any shuttle buses, so you had to take the bus or a taxi. When we came back down, there were only illegal taxis.

By L1988 |

I personally like this place, the air is good and the scenery is nice... I like the feeling of standing on the waterfall~

By Cherry Sunny Day |

The descent took two hours at a leisurely pace, though there was a particularly shaky section. Walking along the mountainside, up a 90-degree vertical staircase, was a bit thrilling. Each step brought a new view, and the mountain scenery was incredibly beautiful. Although the sun was scorching, the trees provided shade along the way. Cooling down with an ice cream midway was perfect. The entrance to the mountain is a lake, and the mountain scenery reflected in the water is refreshing, instantly making the hard work of the descent seem like a distant memory.

Tickets purchased online are slightly cheaper than the original price.

There are two entrances to Qiongtai Fairy Valley, one for entry and the other for exit.

However, there is no public transportation between the two entrances, so it is not very convenient.

This situation just encourages the illegal taxi industry, and the prices offered are basically not cheap.

The most common advice on the Internet is to drive to the upper entrance and play all the way down, which saves the hard work of climbing the mountain and is more relaxing.

After reading some strategies, we finally chose to enter from the lower entrance.

When we entered at about one o'clock, we happened to meet a Taiwanese tour group.

Entering the building is the most beautiful waterfall and the long corridor pavilion.

The waterfall is formed by water from Baxian Lake flowing into Baizhang Lake (Tongbai Reservoir) below.

After the pavilion, you will reach Lingbo Plank Road, a flat road beside Baxian Lake.

The lake water is a bit turbid. There are two white geese in the lake, and their calls are very loud.

Further in are some scenic spots. Because this is a mountain of rocks, you still need to use your imagination.

First, you will pass through a suspended corridor, then the Jiufeng Terrace and the Wangxian Bridge.

Then there is Baizhangya Waterfall and Jinting Cave

After Jinting Cave, the steeper climbing part begins

Go up along the Lingyun plank road and you will pass by a small temple of the God of Wealth.

Other scenic spots include the Immortal Emperor Sacrifice Temple, the top of the Earth Altar, and Qiongtai.

The lawn at the top of the mountain is quite nice. I think Qiongtai is just average.

We went back down the mountain the same way we came, and it was pretty quick, about 30 minutes.

Going down the mountain does put a lot of pressure on the knees, especially after climbing a mountain.

By Mr. Takemoto |

Some sections are difficult to climb, but the scenery is beautiful. There is a relatively flat grassy square at the top, and with the blue sky at the time, if the sun is not scorching, you can really sit down and absorb some of the spiritual energy.

By Crow's feet caused by laughter |

Tiantai is the most beautiful scenic spot. It is best to go on a rainy day. The mountains and the fog are as beautiful as a picture or a dream.

The scenery is beautiful, but the public facilities are not very complete. There are many lizards that change color in the area. Climbing the mountain is like going from one gate to another. If you drive there yourself, it will be more troublesome because the driver has to go back to the parking lot to drive. In addition, the local car rental is relatively black.

These kinds of attractions are actually similar. I don't think there's anything special about them. They are the kind you can go to or not.

The scenery is quite good in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang areas, and there are not many people outside the holidays. The mountains and rivers are beautiful, and it is a good place to escape the summer heat.

Qiongtai Fairy Valley is located in the mountainous area 8 kilometers northwest of Tiantai County. It is a typical granite geological landscape.

Enjoy the process of climbing the mountain, looking at the clear water and blue sky, and drinking a sip of mountain spring water.

It's worth going there, go climbing, the scenery is also good. But it's best to bring some food with you, the food there is too expensive

The purpose of coming to Tiantai is to see the mountains and water, especially in spring and summer, when there is abundant water and the paths around the mountain are absolutely great for taking photos.

Of all the scenic spots in Tiantai Mountain, I like Qiongtai Fairy Valley the most. It has beautiful mountains and clear waters, and the waterfall is spectacular.

Many of the exits are very narrow, and you can see below. Friends who are afraid of heights must be careful. The scenery is nice, but I was scared when I slipped. The overall environment is good.

You can choose to go from top to bottom or from bottom to top, the scenery inside is still very good.

The scenic area is home to the Tiantai Tongbai Pumped Hydropower Station. Lingxi is the main scenic spot. Going north along the stream, you will see cliffs on both sides. The mountains are steep and rugged, with many strange peaks. It is a typical granite landform.
