From the mountain, around to the foot of the other side of the mountain, and around again, Tianmu Mountain is not just a mountain, it is endless, it is simply a world of mountains. Tianmu Mountain has the largest group of giant Cryptomeria japonica in the world. The Big Tree Kingdom scenic area is entered from the Longfengjian parking lot. You can visit its essence by turning clockwise according to the thick lines on the map. The entrance, Four-sided Peak, Upside-down Lotus, Five Generations Living Together, and Big Tree King are all downhill roads. There are some uphill roads returning from the Big Tree King-Kaishan Laodian route, but there are fewer uphill roads than downhill roads, so it is relatively easier to walk clockwise. Going up the stone steps, you can see the green mountains as new, the gurgling streams, and occasionally a breeze blowing, which is refreshing. Walking along the ancient mountain trail, although there is no breathtaking beauty along the way, just bathing in the forest oxygen bar and enjoying the rays of sunshine shining through the leaves, spring is so beautiful.

On the way out of the scenic area, you will encounter an old temple, which is the earliest temple on Tianmu Mountain and was once very popular. Later, Chanyuan Temple was built at the foot of the mountain, and this place became the "old temple".

Tianmu Mountain was originally a vast sea area. Hundreds of millions of years ago, the main body of Tianmu Mountain was formed through folding, fracture and volcanic eruption. After the Quaternary glaciers, it has become the Tianmu Mountain with undulating peaks, numerous canyons, strange rocks and beautiful scenery. The unique style of the Tianmu Mountain Glacier Grand Canyon is also a mystery in the history of the earth. It was called "a typical ancient glacial relic in East China" by geologist Li Siguang.

Walking along the canyon, you can see many streams and pools, waterfalls and rocks connected together, and the glacier and rock waves are even more spectacular and majestic.

Tianmu Mountain has lush peaks and ancient trees, dangerous rocks and strange stones, and flowing springs and waterfalls. It is known as the "kingdom of big trees" and "cool world", and is a place for sightseeing and relaxing in ancient and modern times. Tianmu has thousands of beautiful mountains and a sacred mountain ten miles deep. It has given mankind an inexhaustible brilliant culture and unique natural charm.

The tickets are too expensive, but the autumn scenery is really beautiful. Due to the high mountains, the leaves turn yellow earlier.

The only complaint is that the tickets are so expensive! Booking online in advance also costs 105, excluding transportation to the scenic area. Today, September 28, 2018, I set off from my home in Liangzhu, Hangzhou at 8:30 and drove to the Qingshan Lake Expressway to the entrance of the scenic area at about 10 o'clock. It may be because it is a weekday and there are not many people. The road condition is not bad. The parking fee at the entrance of the scenic area is 10 yuan. After entering the scenic area, I arrived at the ancient road next to the Chanyuan Temple and started climbing to the Big Tree King. It took almost 3 hours, and then I rested for a while at the Kaishan Old Temple and continued to climb to the Xianren Peak. The road cup prompts that it took 1 and a half hours to go up and down. It may be that the road is not very good (I heard from the local uncle who climbed the mountain with me that this section of the road is similar to Qingliang Peak). It may also be that my physical fitness can't keep up. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach the top of the mountain. In the distance, you can see Longwang Peak and Dongtianmu Mountain, and of course there are a few unknown peaks. The scenery is good! Next time, go to climb Qingliang Peak and Longwang Mountain.

Tianmu Mountain is close to Shanghai and is very suitable for short trips. Three days of self-driving is enough. I personally feel that Tianmu Grand Canyon is average. The family ticket price is 200 yuan. There are some water activities. If you are not interested in water activities, you can just climb the mountain and look at the volcanic rocks. The scenery is average. The Big Tree Kingdom and rafting are very good. We enjoyed it very much as it was our first time to raft.

Tianmu Mountain is indeed a very nice place, with beautiful mountains and clear waters. The key is that it is not hot, which is very suitable for family travel. There is an area dedicated to playing in the water, and we stayed there for a long time. The clear springs drawn from the mountainside are icy and cool. Some children walked on the suspension bridge in the water many times, and they all got tanned. There are also cruise ships to take, and it feels good to blow the cool breeze in the mountains. A long section of the mountain climbing road is stone steps, and there is a roof, so it is not exposed to the sun. When you reach the end of the roof, you can continue to climb up, and we went home haha.

The tour time is about two and a half hours. You can take pictures of the beautiful scenery while walking. You can take the scenic bus out of the scenic area. The tour guide of Tianmu Mountain "Big Tree King": (it is more labor-saving to walk clockwise, basically it is downhill all the way). West Tianmu Mountain is indeed a natural resting place and a summer resort.

Note: It says that the ticket can be used 2 hours after the successful booking, but we used it in an hour, and the scenic area did not mention the 2-hour stalk. (I don't know if other ways of booking tickets need to follow this regulation). The scenic area bus is 20 yuan for a one-way trip and 40 yuan for a round trip. It is recommended to book the scenic area tickets in advance. Tickets can be picked up at the ticket office at the foot of the mountain or at the halfway sentry box service office (for tourists who get on the bus halfway). When the bus goes to the halfway sentry box service office, tourists who get on the bus halfway will get off the bus to buy bus tickets and pick up scenic area tickets. Tianmu Mountain has forest attributes. There are many insects in the mountain, including but not limited to butterflies, dragonflies, frogs, stink bugs, leaf-rolling elephants, stick insects, mantises... The children had a lot of fun and caught grasshoppers and katydids back, haha.

We spent 2 hours to visit Tianmu Mountain. There are many introductions about Tianmu Mountain online. The ancient trees are towering and the negative ions are said to be the best in the country. The ticket price is 140, which is a bit expensive. The mountain homestay is mainly self-driving. There are many inconveniences in budget travel. You can only rely on the scenic area and public transportation. Be sure to pay attention to the last bus time. When we left the scenic area, the last minibus we came in was 17:40. One minute late would not wait for anyone. Fortunately, we arrived at the gate at 17:25.

It’s quite far from Hangzhou. I originally chose to take the bus, but I regretted it when I got there. I should have driven there.

You can take a bus from Hangzhou West Station to Yuqian, and then take a bus opposite Yuqian Station directly to Tianmu Mountain.

In Tianmu Mountain Scenic Area, it takes more than an hour to climb up to Xianren Peak. There is not much scenery along the way. The elderly and those with children should not go up. Since Xitianmu Mountain is a nature reserve, it is less commercialized. The opening hours are from 8 am to 5 pm, so you can't go out too late, because I see there are no street lights in the mountain. This should be noted, especially for those who hike up and down the mountain. Regarding the route of hiking up the mountain, I took the classic thousand-year-old ancient road route. The first stop is the Zen Temple at the foot of the mountain, followed by the Zhaoming Prince's study, now called Tianmu Academy. For those who like cultural landscapes, I naturally have to go to see it. The classic national geographical sign at the gate of Xitianmu Mountain Xitianmu Mountain is a national nature reserve. We should not leave garbage when we enter the mountain, and leave footprints when we leave the mountain. The order of posting photos of the thousand-year-old ancient road route is relatively random, not according to the appearance of scenic spots. When going down the mountain, I walked down slowly by myself. At first, I was worried about whether I would encounter wild animals such as snakes, but I didn't encounter them. As long as I walk on the hiking trail, I generally won't encounter them. It is also best to bring a trekking pole, one to borrow strength when going up and down the mountain, and the other to scare the snakes. In addition, it is not too late to go down the mountain, because there are no street lights, and it is not safe to walk on the stone road when it is dark.

After the big tree king, the higher we climbed, the more it looked like a desolate mountain road. The road was desolate and the steeper we climbed, the more desperate we felt when we looked at the mountain stairs. After an hour and a half of struggle, we finally reached the top of the mountain. There was almost nothing on the top of the mountain, not even a place to take pictures. It might also be because the weather was hazy. The tragic way down the mountain. When we went down the mountain, we found that our legs began to hurt. There was a sign of cramps in our calves. As the saying goes, it is easy to go up the mountain but difficult to go down the mountain. Every step down has to bear the weight of the whole body. I almost limped when I ran down the mountain. I endured the humiliation and persevered to the end before I came down the mountain. Tianmu Mountain started from 8 am to 4 pm, from going up the mountain to going down the mountain. After going down the mountain, my legs were almost broken. I couldn't walk normally. I limped back after going back all day. I was a little tired, but the vegetation rate of Tianmu Mountain was worth it just for breathing oxygen. West Tianmu Mountain is pure mountain climbing. There are almost no entertainment projects. It takes at least ninety-nine to walk in the mountains.

Bought a ticket to climb the mountain, unfortunately I didn't see anyone before and after, I don't know if it's because of the winter, 5 degrees below zero, maybe there is really no climbing, well, let's go alone... Along the way... There are not many views, but it's worth a visit if you have a special liking for trees... It took three and a half hours to finally climb to the top. The staff up there said that we can live up there and watch the sunrise in the morning. I think it should be nice, but I don't have time. Friends who have the opportunity can try it. It should be good. The overall feeling is that except for the beautiful scenery on the top, the other things are not very good. It may also be related to the weather. It is recommended to go in summer

When I went there in mid-February this year, there was still snow on the mountain. I saw a lot of icicles dripping on the way up the scenic area bus. Last winter, there was no snow in our area, which is two hours away by car. And I never thought that we could see so many large trees in our area! Then in early November this year, I went to see the 10,000-year-old ginkgo tree that was still bare in winter. Xitianmu Mountain is particularly beautiful in autumn, especially the ginkgo tree. Tianmu Mountain - It is located between Huangshan Mountain and the East China Sea. The rock types are mainly granite and rhyolite. There are many low mountains, hills and wide valleys on both sides of Tianmu Mountain. The geology is ancient, and the mountain was formed in the Yanshan period 150 million years ago. It is part of the "Jiangnan Ancient Land"; the landform is unique and the terrain is complex, and it is known as the "typical ancient glacial site in East China"; the steep cliffs, strange rocks, numerous canyons, and beautiful natural landscapes are called "Jiangnan Strange Mountains"; the special terrain and long-standing Buddhist culture have promoted the preservation of the remains of animals and plants and the complete protection of vegetation in the area, which has become a miracle in the world and is one of the richest areas of higher plant resources in China's mid-subtropical forest area.

I went there to find the remains of Gaofeng Yuanmiao and Zhongfeng Mingben. Hangzhou is very hot in summer, but this place is very cool, with few tourists and the sound of birds all over the mountain. The popular science display boards in the forest are well done.

The trail we took when we went down the mountain was still a stone path paved by monks hundreds of years ago, and each level was uneven. If you want to finish the walk quickly (about an hour without stopping at all), you must be prepared for your feet to become numb.

The Xitianmu Ancient Road is very distinctive, with huge Cryptomeria trees all along the way, which is probably a unique scenery in China.

Our school went to Xitianmu Mountain for practice. The weather was cloudy that day, and it drizzled when we went hiking. But actually, this kind of weather is the best for hiking. There are not many places to eat in the scenic area, but there is a snack bar, and then you can walk into some shops selling Lin'an specialties. But the way to hike is really rugged and tiring. We went down the mountain first, thinking that the bottom was the exit, but we had to climb up again. I really don't like hiking. It took me a long time to finish after climbing for 1 and a half hours. But the scenery is still good. There are many ancient tree species, small waterfalls, streams and so on that are necessary in the mountains. It's still very good to climb without rushing.

Today, I had the honor to climb Tianmu Mountain with several colleagues. We had lunch at Yikoutian Restaurant at the entrance of the scenic area. At about 12:20, we took the scenic bus from the foot of the mountain to the middle of the mountain. It took about half an hour. When we arrived at the scenic area, we briefly visited the old temple. When we saw the time was 13:08, we started to sprint to Xianren Terrace as fast as possible. We sprinted all the way and reached the top at 13:43. It should be said that the top of the mountain was quite refreshing! Next time, we plan to go directly to the top from the foot of the mountain without taking the scenic bus! Looking forward to next time.

The ticket I booked on the same day was 110 yuan + the one-way ticket I bought on site was 20 yuan. I chose to get on the bus and walk down, following the route indicated in the tour guide. I arrived at the Kaishan Old Temple at 12 o'clock, and chose to climb Xianren Peak. It was really tiring to climb 1,500 meters above sea level, and it was all old roads with incomplete stone steps. I came down at 14:00, which felt like a very fast speed. As a result, it was a big challenge to go down the mountain again. It felt like I would never reach the hour. It was almost 17:00 when I got down to the South Gate. I regretted not choosing a round-trip bus. I felt like my legs and feet were broken. The scenery was actually average, but various century-old trees were very rare.

The beautiful scenery of Zhejiang can only be appreciated if you take your time and enjoy it calmly.

It is still worth a visit, especially in summer, it is also a good place to escape the heat!

There are round-trip buses from Shanghai every day. The bus departs from People's Square at 6:45 in the morning and returns to Shanghai at around 12:00 noon. The one-way ticket is 70 yuan/person. Most farmhouses charge 110 yuan/day per person for food and accommodation. Because some friends were on vacation there first to escape the summer heat, we hitchhiked there for 4 days of leisure, so we didn't need to make a plan. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. We not only had a satisfying meal, but also a comfortable stay and had fun.

Although the way down the mountain is long, you will be attracted by the vegetation on both sides of the road. You will find that the vegetation accompanying you at each stage has its own merits. You can't help but stop and take pictures with them. The road under your feet also presents different landscapes according to the changes of vegetation. You must appreciate these rare trees when you come to Tianmu Mountain. Maybe you will discover vegetation you have never discovered before.

I have been to the summer resort near Hangzhou twice, once in summer and once in winter. I have to say that the snow-covered Tianmu Mountain in winter is also extremely beautiful.
