Zhou Enlai's ancestral home is located in Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City, facing south and connected to the Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall. Although Premier Zhou Enlai spent relatively little time in Shaoxing, he repeatedly declared, "I am a Shaoxing native." The home is a simple brick and tile house with a distinct Ming Dynasty architectural style, accentuated by the traditional black bamboo lining. It has three entrances, each containing three rooms. Inside, Premier Zhou's tableware and clothing, a family tree, photos with his wife, and historical events recreate his illustrious life.

Zhou Enlai's ancestral home can be reached by taking bus No. 13, 17, 20A, 20B, 29, 31, 31A, or 31B from downtown to Changqiao Station. Walking from the hometown of the calligrapher to Bazi Bridge passes by this place. Stop by to pay tribute to this revolutionary of the past.

Enter with ID card.

However, our beloved Premier Zhou was not born here, but it is the house of our ancestors.

By Talented Venom |

The memorial hall mainly displays the deeds of Premier Zhou’s grandfathers

By China-TravelNote users |

Compared with the bustling guests at Lu Xun's former residence, the Prime Minister, who was even more wealthy in the past, repeatedly instructed and moved the ancestral tomb early on to bury it deep.

A great name is speechless, and a noble family is invisible.

Be careful and meticulous, and plan ahead.

By Flying dust |

I have been to Premier Zhou’s former residence. It turns out that the Premier was from Shaoxing. I always thought he was from Huai’an.

By A rabbit looking around |

I want to say, wasn't Premier Zhou born and studied in Huai'an during his childhood? He didn't go back to his ancestral home to study 😂... It's true that he lived in his ancestral home, but I don't agree with the study department... Full marks to the Premier

By Wuyuan Peaceful Residence |

Free attractions, Shaoxing Municipal Government is very good, opposite Lu Xun's former residence, the Zhou family's ancestors are awesome.

By melf |

The content is too thin, especially compared with the free policy of Lu Xun's hometown, it seems even more tasteless here, and it is not worth a special trip.

By kinmeng22 |

I always thought Premier Zhou was from Huai'an and later settled in Shaoxing. It turns out he was from Shaoxing all along, and later went to Huai'an with his mother and then returned to Shaoxing. Now I understand.

By Candy |

Out of respect for Premier Zhou, it is said to be worth a visit. In fact, the memorial is not very good, and the explanation service is also very average. It only talks about the ancestral home. The memorial does not explain

By China-TravelNote users |

Ancestral home, nothing to see, and tickets are required, not recommended

By pale |

Premier Zhou was born in Huai'an, Jiangsu Province, and probably did not live here many times, so relatively speaking, the introduction should focus more on the Zhou family; but in order to take advantage of the Premier's glory, some of his old things were obtained, which seems a bit out of place.

By fzhangying |

My idol, the beloved Prime Minister, knows the life of a great man.

By apple |

The entrance fee was 18 yuan. To be honest, I went there mainly out of respect for Premier Zhou. The courtyard and exhibition hall are small. The guided tour is also a separate fee. I personally think that places like this should offer free guided tours.

By West Lake Fish With Vinegar Sauce |

When I went there, it was not open yet, so I missed the opportunity to pay my respects to the great man’s ancestral home. I will go there next time.

By China-TravelNote users |

How should I put it? I still charge a fee. I admire Premier Zhou but I think it shouldn't be charged.

By shuishou |

The Prime Minister's family motto: "Be content with what you have and you will always be at peace. When you have no desires, you will be a noble person." The Prime Minister's motto: "Study hard and strive for excellence."

I like current affairs and history, so I came here.

Premier Zhou's grandmother reached 100 years old, and to celebrate, she built the Xiyang Hall. Considering the economy at the time, a building of this size in a small county town must have meant the Zhou family was quite wealthy!

We will always remember Premier Zhou for his painstaking efforts in the liberation of the Chinese nation and in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China!

Visiting the former residence of a great leader with a heart of reverence. Tickets cost 18 yuan, and the residence showcases the Prime Minister's daily life, including a memorial hall where visitors can pay their respects. As a Chinese, this is a must-see. There's parking on Xuefu Road, but it's charged. Parking in the nearby alleys is free.

By _____ Ugly |

A very simple prime minister, admire his life

By Xinweizai |

This kind of red memorial hall actually requires tickets to enter, I gave up decisively!

By Meow |

Just wander around, don't get your hopes up. The Prime Minister's ancestral home is more spacious than Mr. Lu Xun's, but it has fewer rooms and the color contrast isn't as striking. I was just passing through to look at it with my dad. What really caught my eye was a small alley nearby called Yaolong. We northerners have never seen such authentic flavors; this is what we call Jiangnan style. An old lady on the street said in dialect, "My little girl, your arms are too cold to be exposed." Hahaha, what a welcoming grandma...

By tony_hu |

It contains a lot of stories about Premier Zhou's life and the stories between Premier Zhou and the ten marshals.

By babykat |

It is worth reading. It gives a detailed introduction to the life of the Prime Minister and contains many relevant historical relics, such as the Prime Minister's household registration card and graduation certificate before liberation.

By Heaven gives birth to water |

I think it should be free to visit the childhood home of a great man.

By backup |

It's just the ancestral home, not the former residence. The former residence of the Prime Minister is in Huai'an, Jiangsu. Perhaps for this reason, the content about the Prime Minister is not very detailed. It took 20 minutes to complete the tour.

By Leaf handle |

The Prime Minister’s former residence is in Huai’an, Jiangsu!

By PACER |

During the visit, I heard people say, "This place has nothing in it, it's so far-fetched, and they charge a fee." I've seen Premier Zhou Enlai's stuff everywhere before, and it was free. I think this is how most people feel.

By Wensy |

I absolutely will not miss the ancestral home of my beloved male god. A tribute to my beloved Premier Zhou. I feel so happy knowing that every step I take is where you once walked, and every pillar and stone wall I touch is where you once touched.

By Pocahontas |

I didn't want to go but I bought a tourist pass and went to see it.

By The Catcher in the Rye |

Look at the family background of great people, and you don’t need to have too high expectations for your children.

By Sister Ya |

It is 600 meters away from our hotel and can be reached on foot.

By Yahui |

The Prime Minister was born in Huai'an, lived in Shaoxing after being adopted, and then went to the Northeast to seek refuge with his uncle. He went abroad to study and returned to China to save the country. His life was full of ups and downs.

By A salted fish |

It's not a particularly fun place, but out of respect for the Prime Minister, I'll give it 4 stars. It's a good place to learn about the Prime Minister's life.

By Swear to wander around the world |

It is worth visiting if you are interested in historical celebrities.

By Qianqian |

There are four former residences of Premier Zhou in China: Shaoxing, Huai'an, Jiangsu, Chongqing, and Shanghai. Shaoxing is where Premier Zhou was born and grew up. This land and water nurtured Premier Zhou. Although the scenery is average and there is very little information about Premier Zhou's life, out of admiration for Premier Zhou, you must go and pay your respects. The ticket price is 18 yuan, and student tickets are half price.

By kyo0404 |

Shaoxing may be a small city, but it's home to a wealth of cultural heritage and celebrities. Just a short walk takes you from Lu Xun's former residence to Premier Zhou's ancestral home. It's truly a place of outstanding people and beautiful scenery.

By Prodigal Son Ba Ren |

It is a brick and tile house with Ming Dynasty architectural style, facing south and with traditional black bamboo door. There is nothing unique about it, so I don't recommend it.

By Prince of Love Songs |

As my idol and guiding light for my upbringing, I went there on my first day in Shaoxing! The bus stopped at the Women's Health Hospital. There was a clear sign above the road. The fare was 18 yuan per person. Across from it was a small square with a long corridor and a statue of the Premier! The former residence wasn't large, but it housed an exhibition about the Premier's life and deeds, as well as the house where he lived as a child. The most important thing was the Memorial Hall. You can donate one yuan and receive a bouquet of flowers (unattended) to present to the Premier. You're advised to bow three times (which I did). Don't assume there's anything special going on here; it's just a tribute to a great man, but for me, it was deeply moving! I recommend entering from the left. And, by the way, the ticket is 18 yuan. If you keep your ticket, you can also visit He Zhizhang's temporary residence next door! It's inconceivable that the Premier, who dedicated his life to his country and his people, would charge admission for something labeled a patriotic education base. Is this the only reason they're so inexpensive?!

By Klaus |

There was nothing special about a place originally, but it became famous because of the appearance of Premier Zhou.

By 嬀- |

Minors can get free tickets with valid ID, it's okay

By Heart is far away |

The former residence is not big, it is also an old house, introducing the life of Premier Zhou. It is recommended to be opened to the public free of charge as a patriotic education base.

By ✿Sleepwalking @Xiaoxian♬ |

It’s nice to visit the Prime Minister’s former residence with admiration!

By yi ordinary |

Actually, there is nothing special about the scenery here. I went there just to see the Prime Minister. There is no other reason. It is a five-star hotel.

By Wang Haohao |

The negative review is just because I heard that when Premier Zhou died, he asked not to leave his former residence or anything, and everything was handed over to the country. I wonder if he would be sad if he knew about this now.

By Master's Ring |

The story is very strong, but most of the content is already known to me, so the knowledge I can gain is not very much.

By China-TravelNote users |

We have to go to the place where Premier Zhou is in charge, just for the Premier's sake.

By Walking through Xiangshan |

Most of the content in the ancestral home is about the life of some prime ministers.

By Qu Ting |

It's so boring. I'd better go to Lu Xun's former residence. They are basically the same.

By Junzi |

Very good very good very good very good very good very good

By long |

A must-see attraction in Shaoxing, just for Premier Zhou!!!

By Natalia |

Antique building with only some simple facilities

By Han Tae-young |

The brief biography of Premier Zhou is worth a visit for young people.

By Estelle |

Learn about the history and civilization of this ancient city and its great men. The Prime Minister himself calls himself "I am from Shaoxing!"

By Ice-Hotel |

A totally unnecessary attraction unless you are willing to waste 18 yuan to look at photos.

By Young Gang Leader |

A very good attraction, you can learn about Premier Zhou's life and his hometown in detail

By Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division |

It has a celebrity style, but it is quite small. Most of it is an exhibition hall. There is less content about the ancestral home. It is free and worth a visit.

By Westworld |

To be honest, the place is small and there are few exhibits. It is really a bit shabby. Regardless of other things, as an attraction, the fee is not worth it.

By wild donkey |

I came here with reverence to learn about the environment in which the Prime Minister grew up. His former residence is not very big.

By Chen Feiyang |

It is a very historical site of a great man and I learned a lot.

By Lady Amy |

As the first stop in Shaoxing, we must pay tribute to the beloved Premier Zhou! A great Premier who dedicated his life to the people! For more details, please read my travel notes~

By Chen Chen |

I love this place, where the great leader once lived. Every bit of it fills me with reverence. There's also an 83-year-old man doing calligraphy on fans. I asked him to write the two characters "wu zhong" (meaning "no contention"), and he did a beautiful job. He asked me if I believed in Buddhism, and I said yes. He then printed an image of Guanyin Bodhisattva on the fan, saying it wasn't for non-believers. When I took a photo with him, he was incredibly enthusiastic, immediately standing up and buttoning his Tang suit, looking incredibly serious. I have a special fondness for him; I feel like I'm seeing my own grandfather.

By Happiness at your fingertips |

Perhaps words cannot express my admiration for Grandpa Zhou. I feel that he dedicated his whole life to the people. His spirit is worth carrying forward.

By Lang Yintian |

I still highly recommend this... Not saying anything about patriotism or anything, but I just think that we seem to know people very well, but in fact we only know their names and birthdays. Only when we understand them can we comment.

By Hina's brother |

Premier Zhou didn't actually live in the ancestral home for long, so the ancestral home emphasizes the Premier's return to Shaoxing. Across from the ancestral home is a memorial hall, housing a bronze statue of the Premier, and an exhibition of historical figures dedicated to integrity and public service in the corridors. Inside the ancestral home, there's a profile of the Premier's noble character. It's rare for a profile of a figure to be thoroughly absorbed, word for word, and picture for picture, but this exhibition manages to do just that. At the end of the exhibition, a message wall is densely filled with visitors' expressions of respect and remembrance, without a single disrespectful note, not even a single punctuation mark.

By Live intensely |

As soon as I entered, I couldn't help crying, so I picked up a white flower and presented it to her.

By Turnips |

After visiting Lu Xun's former residence and Shen Garden, I had some time so I turned here. There weren't many tourists and I didn't have much impression of them. I really don't have much interest in the former residences of various celebrities.

By cottoncandy |

Premier Zhou’s former residence is very large and the entire residence is decorated in a very solemn manner. In addition, there is basically no one there, so I feel very depressed and dare not speak.

By 78952976 |

When I visit these celebrity memorials or former residences, I love reading their biographies, seeing how great people's lives are condensed into a few lines, revealing what they did in a few years. I wonder how I would write my own biography, and then compare it to the lives of these great people. I'm lucky I'm still young; I can work harder in the future. By the way, Premier Zhou Enlai was incredibly handsome, both in his youth and in his old age. There are so many photos in the memorial hall that I've never seen before.

It's a little distance to the Eight-Character Bridge, but not too far. The bridge is called Eight-Character Bridge because it looks like an eight from any direction. I think it's more like an ancient overpass, connecting in all directions.

By FlyMushroom |

Although Premier Zhou grew up in northern Jiangsu, he was indeed from Shaoxing. Perhaps that connection was related to Lu Xun's family. In short, he was an idol to my parents' generation. Indeed, his charisma earned him worldwide admiration.

By Son of the Wind |

There is no need for any reason to visit the Prime Minister’s ancestral home. Coming here is not to get to know the Prime Minister better, but to express respect!

By A calm smile |

Premier Zhou,

A good prime minister of the people.

Ancestral home in Shaoxing,

Calm down and take a good look.

Let’s review the Prime Minister’s life journey.

By Lotus breeze |

The former residence is not big, it's also an old house, life. I'm already aesthetically fatigued. I'm really ashamed of myself for not having any cultural background. If it weren't for my love for Premier Zhou, I wouldn't have come here.

By The Travels of a Dirt-Eating Girl |

There are very few people at this attraction, and there are no tour groups. You can learn about the life of the Prime Minister.
