沃公祠介绍

沃公祠位于天长市区东郊洗马塘东侧，最早建于嘉靖三十六年，今天的沃公祠是1982年底重新修建的，它位于安徽省天长市建设东路南侧，占地面积5340平方米，建筑面积近400平方，紧靠洗马塘。洗马塘正因沃公征战饮马而得名。

沃公祠是经安徽省文物局和天长人民政府批准拨款重建。沃公祠依照地势，建有门厅、陈列厅、祠堂、墓区，建筑高低起伏，蔚为壮观，门厅不大，虽只有三间，但结构严谨，古朴庄严。经过鹅卵石铺设的道路，映入眼帘的展览大厅，大厅正门雕有秀丽典雅的花卉，三面设有回廊，增强了视角感和空间感，回廊上记有层次分明的木格雕花，回廓栏杆用形态各异的飞禽走兽图案组成。

沃公祠的主体建筑应该是祠堂，祠堂中有一尊沃公塑像，勇猛威武，气宇轩昂，祠堂采用砖木结构，歇山花脊，飞檐翘角，梁架选材优良，雕刻精美，门窗都为镂空雕花格扇组成，造型堂皇，传统色彩鲜明，保持了明代古朴雄风。
