在烟雨峰岳中,皮里黝黑的甑皮人与漓江为伍,与青山为伴,或渔猎或采集,使用的依然是古朴的石器、骨器‘原始的陶器、蚌器。在节奏明快的“妖鼓”下,穿着色彩斑斓的兽皮,手持锋利的长矛在山林里狩猎,烧蛇烤蚌为食,长唱着人与自然和谐的漓江渔歌和桂山猎谣。
整个景区具有故事的动态性,视觉的审美性,蕴藏着深刻的文化内容,具有甑皮文化所特有的神圣原始信念。从远古时代开始,桂林先民在日常生活中表现出对生命的崇拜及追求人与自然和谐共处的哲理,整个景区浓缩了祖先的智慧。
