金顶寺介绍

金顶寺位于鸡足山主峰天柱峰的绝顶，海拔3240米，东距祝圣寺5.5千米。天柱峰因高峻挺拔，状如擎天巨柱而得名，在金顶寺有时还可以见到珍奇的迦叶鸟。现在的金顶寺，由睹光台、大门、弥勒殿、楞严塔、大雄宝殿等组成，是游览鸡足山必去的重要景点。

金顶不仅有悠久的历史，还有著名的赏景地：东观日出、西观苍洱、南观祥云林海、北观玉龙雪山。明代大旅行家徐霞客历尽千辛万苦登临鸡足山顶，对这“四观”赞赏备至。
