慧灯庵介绍

慧灯庵在天柱峰东山(或插屏峰)脚,背靠迦叶殿,面前是上天柱峰的游路。据史料记载,公元1605年(明万历乙巳),僧人洪平在此结茅庵居住,到公元1634年(崇祯甲戌),洪平的徒弟普现募化扩建慧灯庵。公元1692年(清康熙壬申),僧人宗海再募化重修。

慧灯庵自古就是上天柱峰的正道所必经的寺庵。公元1639年正月,大旅行家徐霞客云游鸡足山后,曾在《滇游日记》中提到“会灯寺”和“会灯大道”,并把上天柱峰顶的会灯大道,称之为“正道”。当时慧灯寺是朝山者上金顶前焚香小憩品茶之地。据说,历史上慧灯庵的素餐很有些名气。

慧灯庵四周被古木茂林所合围,一年四季每天早晚都有林鸟的鸣唱,正应一句古诗所云“鸟鸣山更幽”。慧灯庵后有一棵被称为“九心十八瓣”的古茶花,树龄已有240多年。所开的花为十瓣,外观像狮子头,花期为每年春节前后。在慧灯庵前,还可仰望到屹立于天柱峰顶直插云霄的金顶寺楞严塔雄姿。
