天津白塔

天津白塔介绍

白塔位于蓟县城西南隅、独乐寺正南300米处，始建于辽代，旧称渔阳郡塔，明清两代均有重修。明嘉靖年间在塔前修建有观音寺，塔身白色，所以亦称观音寺白塔。

白塔平面呈八角形，由高大的束腰须弥座、八角重檐亭式塔身、硕大的率堵波和顶部的十三天相轮组成。白塔通高30.6米，砖石结构。塔门内有浮雕舞乐伎，刻工精细，栩栩如生，是研究辽代音乐舞蹈的重要例证。

塔身南面设门，内置佛龛；八个转角处作重层小塔。白塔下部为密檐塔型，上部砌作覆钵式，是中国辽塔造型奇特之一例。素有“金峰平挂西天月，玉柱什擎北塞云”之誉。
