Qingxi Town, under the jurisdiction of Dongguan City, is located in the southeast of Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. It borders Hong Kong and Macau, and shares borders with Shenzhen and Huizhou. The town government is approximately 48 kilometers from both the city center and Shenzhen.

Qingxi Town was among the first batch of China's "Most Beautiful Towns" in 2012, "China's Best Leisure Town in 2012," "National Civilized Town," and "China's Most Livable Town." In August 2014, Qingxi was designated a national key town, aiming to become the Shangri-La of the Pearl River Delta.

Qingxi, an ancient Hakka town in Lingnan, has fostered the inheritance and development of traditional Hakka culture and art. Qingxi's Hakka folk songs, Qilin dance, and other Hakka folk dances have won numerous international and national awards. The craft of making colored Qilins has been inscribed on the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List, while the Qilin dance and Hakka folk songs have been included in the Guangdong Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Qingxi's Hakka winemaking has been included in the Dongguan Municipal Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
