Introducing Xiaogushan

Xiaogushan, also known as Xiaogushan, is located in the Yangtze River, 65 kilometers southeast of Susong County, Anhui Province. It is separated from Pengze County of Xijiang River to the south by only one river, and faces Lushan Mountain across the river to the southwest. It is the most beautiful scenery of the Yangtze River and the first wonder on the river. It is known as the most isolated island in the Yangtze River. It is only dozens of miles away from Longgong Cave in Pengze County, Shizhong Mountain in Hukou, and Dagushan ( Xieshan ) in Poyang Lake .

Xiaogushan, originally a rocky island in the Yangtze River, was formed during the Quaternary glacial period. Legend has it that Dayu, while controlling floods, carved a stone tablet to commemorate his achievements. During his eastern tour, Qin Shihuang inscribed the title of "Supreme Pillar of the River" on the stone. Xiaogushan is named for its independence. Its shape resembles the bun worn by ancient women, and its peak is uniquely beautiful. To the east, it resembles a pen; to the west, a throne; to the south , a bell; and to the north, a roaring dragon.

Xiaogushan, with its steep peaks and strategic terrain, has been a battleground for military strategists since ancient times, known as the " Chu Pass and Wu Pass . " Relics of ancient artillery batteries and beacon towers still remain, and numerous poems and poems by famous figures have been passed down through the ages. Qixiu Temple, an ancient temple on the mountain, houses a statue of Mazu, making it the only Mazu temple on the Yangtze River in China.
