Cone Mountain Forest Park is located in the eastern suburbs of Bengbu City, south of the Hebeng Highway. Cone Mountain, with its highest peak at 97 meters, is the main feature of the park. It consists of two peaks, east and west. One theory states that the eastern peak originally contained a natural boulder shaped like a cone, hence the name Cone Mountain. Another theory states that the western peak once housed a nine-story exquisite pagoda built during the Eastern Han Dynasty. From a distance, the tower resembled a cone rising into the sky, hence the name.
During the Han Dynasty, there was a Qiyan Temple, which was destroyed by war during the Sui and Tang Dynasties. Although it was restored many times, it was not well preserved due to the wars throughout the dynasties. Cone Mountain is lush with trees and has beautiful scenery. Since ancient times, it has been known as the "Eight Major Scenes" and "Eight Minor Scenes".
The eight major scenes are Linglong Tower, Stone House, Dragon and Phoenix Bridge, Ginkgo Tree, Milk Spring, Stone Gate, Generals' Platform, and Fairy's Bed; the eight minor scenes are Flying Stone, Python Stone, Parrot Stone, Tiger Stone, Building Stone, Lamp Base Stone, Stone Jar, and Unintentional Well.
