Shizang Temple is also known as "Zang Temple" and "Shizang Temple". In Tibetan, it is called "Zanggar Duanzhu Rebudanlin", which means "Shizang Yicheng Jijianzhou". It is located southeast of the county seat, in Shima, 12 kilometers east of Hebei Township today.
Tongde, part of the Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province, is located at the second bend of the Yellow River in southeastern Qinghai Province. It has a plateau continental climate. Its atmosphere is thin, droughts are rarefied, and rainfall is low. However, its sunshine duration is long and its solar radiation is strong, resulting in a cool, mild climate with small annual temperature ranges and large daily temperature ranges. Spring is dry and windy, summers are short and cool, autumns are damp and rainy, and winters are long and dry.
