Niuxin Mountain, known as "Ami Dongso" in Tibetan, meaning "God of Mountains" and "Mountain Guardian," is located 2 kilometers southeast of the county. As the symbol of the Qilian Mountains, it towers majestically, offering breathtaking views of all seasons. At an altitude of 4,667 meters, at its base, waves of wheat billow, rapeseed flowers bloom, creating a scene reminiscent of a farmland in a highland valley. Above, lush green pastures provide excellent pastureland, earning it the reputation of "the best pasture at the foot of the Qilian Mountains."

There are several hotels and guesthouses in Xining, which is about an hour’s drive from Niuxin Mountain. These include both budget accommodations and more comfortable options. For a more authentic experience, visitors can opt for homestays in the nearby Tibetan villages.
There are no souvenir shops at Niuxin Mountain, but visitors can purchase Tibetan handicrafts, prayer beads, and local textiles in Xining or nearby Tibetan villages.
After visiting Niuxin Mountain, the best transportation options are taxis or private cars to continue to other nearby attractions, such as Qinghai Lake or the Kumbum Monastery. Public transport options are limited in the area.
