Quannan Christian Church is located at 374 Zhongshan Middle Road, Quanzhou. In 1863, in the second year of the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty, British Presbyterian Reverend John Dugard arrived in Quanzhou to preach. Three years later, Quannan Church was officially established, becoming the city's first church. With a history of 140 years, Quannan Church has long been a center of Christian activity in Quanzhou, enjoying a high reputation both domestically and internationally.


Quannan Church has undergone three reconstructions throughout its history. The old church was built in 1927 and rebuilt in 1938 after being bombed by the Japanese. The main church and bell tower were partially rebuilt in 1949. The old church was demolished and rebuilt on February 22, 2002, and was completed in December 2007. The new church covers an area of ​​3,500 square meters. While retaining the original architectural style, it has been equipped with modern facilities such as central air conditioning, elevators, and multimedia systems. It is currently the largest and most advanced church in Fujian Province.
