Mianzhu, a county-level city under the administration of Deyang City, is located in the northwest of the Sichuan Basin, 83 kilometers from Chengdu and 74 kilometers from Mianyang. Mianzhu County was established in the sixth year of Emperor Gaozu of the Western Han Dynasty (201 BC). It was peacefully liberated on December 25, 1949, and was under the jurisdiction of the Mianyang Administrative Inspectorate of the Western Sichuan Region. In August 1983, it was transferred to Deyang City. In October 1996, the county was abolished and Mianzhu City was established.
