Introducing Wang Yangtai

Wangyangtai, located west of Jishan Village, Chayekou Town, Laicheng District, Laiwu City, Shandong Province, was formerly known as Diaoyutai. It is an ancient temple built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. Legend has it that Jiang Taigong once fished here, hence the name.

In 1942, the famous Jishan Battle took place in the east of Jishan Village. The Japanese and puppet troops surrounded the former Taishan Military Sub-district Teaching Team. In the fierce fighting, 263 of our soldiers died heroically. Comrade Wang Yang, the former political commissar of the Taishan Military Sub-district and secretary of the Prefectural Party Committee, also died in this battle.
