Bailong Lake is located within the Bailong Gorge of the Jinsi Grand Canyon in Jinsixia Town, Shangnan County, Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province. After crossing a dark, man-made tunnel, you arrive at Bailong Lake. The view suddenly widens, awash in verdant mountains and lush greenery. Bailong Lake resembles a mirror embedded in the mountains, its lush greenery reflected in the lake, creating a picturesque scene.
Bailong Lake was an ancient route into Shu during the Qin and Han dynasties. The famous Jinniu Road, Jinggu Road, Yinping Road, and Mamingge Road converged here, making it a strategic location of strategic importance. It is home to Baishui Pass, where Liu Bei defeated Pang Tongyi and executed Yang Huai for his disrespectful behavior after returning to Baishui. It is also home to Mu Niu Liu Ma Shan, where Zhuge Liang created the wooden ox and flowing horse during his six expeditions to Qishan. These ancient routes, passes, and historical sites have formed a relatively complete historical and cultural heritage resource.
The warm temperate semi-humid monsoon climate features four distinct seasons, with rain and heat occurring in the same season, and distinct dry and wet seasons in the summer and winter. Avoid the cold winter and travel in spring, summer, and autumn.
