"A picturesque scene of divine craftsmanship, a serene celestial wonderland"—this is the praise for Tianshu Gorge. Located in Pingli County, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province, the scenic area derives its name from the ancient Eight Immortals. Legend has it that this spot was once a place where the Eight Immortals practiced Taoism, where they gathered thousands of rare books. After their spiritual attainments, the books transformed into remarkable stones and were piled in the valley, hence the name "Tianshu Gorge." This scenic spot embodies a beautiful fusion of cultural history and natural light.
Due to its unique geographical location, Tianshu Gorge was once relatively isolated. This is precisely why it evokes a sense of mystery. Exploring the mountains and gazing out into the distance, one is met with breathtaking beauty, a landscape of mountains and waters crafted by nature.
At the same time, Tianshu Gorge is also a natural zoo and botanical park. Due to its unique geographical environment and its relatively closed state, Tianshu Gorge has preserved relatively rich animal and plant resources, and created conditions for the survival and reproduction of rare animals and plants.
The subtropical continental monsoon climate is characterized by a humid and mild climate with distinct four seasons, abundant rainfall, and a long frost-free period. Its characteristics are cold and dry winters, rainy summers with frequent summer droughts, warm and dry springs, and cool and humid autumns with frequent periods of rain. Spring, summer, and autumn are the best seasons for travel.
The Tianshu Gorge Scenic Area has attractions such as Lingxu Corridor, Grandma Bridge, Divine Turtle Presenting a Map, Heavenly Book Treasure Book and Cloud Road to Immortality.
The unique and enclosed nature of Tianshu Gorge evokes a sense of mystery. Exploring the mountains, one gazes as far as the eye can see a landscape woven from nature: majestic and towering peaks, intertwined peaks, deep valleys and cliffs, flowing clear springs, interconnected waterfalls, cascading streams, and grotesque rock formations and caves, all shrouded in a shroud of auspicious, multicolored clouds. The scenery is breathtaking. Set against the backdrop of vast, verdant forests, fragrant grasses, swirling mist, and the melodious chirping of birdsong and frogs, it's a true paradise on earth. Further down the valley, a clear stream emerges, spewing clouds of mist and rushing down to the grotesque rocks and mountains. There, it leaps and cascades, like a suspended silk veil or the Milky Way drifting down from the heavens.
Stepping into Tianshu Gorge, each step offers a unique scene, each scene a unique legend. Not only can you admire the natural, magnificent beauty and experience the artistic conception of "wild flowers blooming with subtle fragrance, fine trees luxuriating in their dense shade, wind and frost cleansing the earth, and clear waters revealing rocks," you can also comprehend the profoundness of Taoism and the culture of the Eight Immortals, cleansing your soul. This is the sacred place where the Eight Immortals practiced Taoism, rich in humanities, history, and culture, and can be described as a mysterious, unrevealed heavenly book left by nature deep in the Bashan Mountains.
