Hanqigou is located in an east-west ravine 14 kilometers east of the Baishitou Central Scenic Area in Hami, Xinjiang. Even in the hottest summer season, the river water remains chilly, hence the name.
Hanqigou lies at an altitude of 2,200 meters and stretches over ten kilometers deep. Its mountains are not high but steep, and its forests are lush and tranquil, a fusion of natural beauty and pristine nature. Here, one can enjoy the beauty of the pine trees and the waves of the forest, the alpine meadows and pastures, and the glacial landscape. It is a great place for mountain hiking, forest viewing, and scientific exploration.
Even in the height of summer, you can still feel the cool air by the water, which is suitable for escaping the heat.
