Hainan Normal University (abbreviated as HNU) is a key university in Hainan Province, home to the Hainan Provincial Academician Workstation, and a regular institution of higher learning with the authority to recommend outstanding undergraduate graduates for postgraduate study without entrance exams. HNU has two campuses, Longkunnan and Guilinyang, covering approximately 3,100 acres. Its predecessor, the National Hainan Normal College, officially established in the fall of 1949, was Hainan's first public university. It was renamed Hainan Normal University in 2007.
