The Baiyang River Grand Canyon is located 17 kilometers west of the Wuerhe District. The river stretches from the Baiyang River Reservoir to the Wuerhe District, stretching 24 kilometers long and about 400 meters wide. The riverbanks are steep, about 20 to 30 meters high, and the river meanders through the valley.
In the Baiyang River Canyon, you can witness the stunning sight of the Yardang and the river. Referred to as the "Mother River" by the people of Karamay, the Baiyang River flows slowly along the valley floor, like a pale blue ribbon drifting southward. This river adds a touch of spirit and grace to the Grand Canyon.
The Baiyang River boasts a diverse landscape, encompassing vast expanses of desert and towering cliffs, a fusion of majestic desert and mountain scenery with azure waters and blue skies. The canyon is lush with trees and the river is clear, offering cool summers and refreshing autumns. The riverbanks feature tall, majestic poplar trees and the brown, blood-red rock formations, conveying the grandeur of the desert through the gurgling water. Steep walls tower majestically on both sides of the canyon.
In the summer, you can come here to play in the water to cool off, and in the winter, you can experience the fun of skiing and skating.
