Sifangshan Tianchi is a swampy and nearly dried-up crater lake, located 933.4 meters above sea level, 30 kilometers northwest of Nuomin Town, Oroqen Autonomous Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on the eastern foot of the middle and northern sections of the Greater Khingan Range, south of the Bila River and west of the Nuomin River in the Nuomin-Kuile River volcanic area, inside the Sifangshan volcanic cone (the long diameter of the scoria cone is 1,900 meters, and the short diameter is 1,500 meters).

Dating of volcanic rocks indicates that the volcano formed approximately 0.128±0.01 Ma ago. Currently, the remaining water area in the center of the lake basin is approximately 26 m in diameter and has a maximum depth of 2 m.

The summit of Sifang Mountain, over 500 meters long from east to west and 300 meters wide from north to south, was formed by volcanic eruptions. A natural lake, "Tianchi," formed by the confluence of springs and rainwater, lies on the mountain. Its waters are emerald green and deep, surrounded by honeycomb-like reefs, formed by the cooling of volcanic magma.
