The Inner Mongolia Ulan Hada Volcanic Geological Park is located in the Ulan Hada Sumu of Chayouhou Banner, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, just 380 kilometers from Beijing. The park covers 65.9 square kilometers and features over 20 volcanoes, the only volcanic cluster discovered on the southern edge of the Inner Mongolia Plateau to have erupted during the Holocene (10,000 years ago). The craters are well-preserved, eruptions are massive, and lava flow terraces and barrier lakes are well-developed. The volcanoes formed relatively recently to the period of human activity, forming a natural volcanic "museum" deep within the grasslands.
The park covers an area of 65.9 square kilometers and is home to geological landscapes such as grassland volcanoes and lava landforms. It is known as a natural "volcano museum."
