Chongming Island belongs to Shanghai and is China's third largest island. It is a piece of pure land in the bustling city. It has both the simple atmosphere of fireworks and the interesting texture of life. Woods, lakes, Baicao Garden, crabs, goats. This back garden of Shanghai has been there, waiting for you to return to the pastoral life in the fields.
Chongming Island's Dongtan Beach is home to a diverse array of birds, making spring and autumn ideal for birdwatching. In summer, Chongming Island offers a great place to escape the heat, enjoy stargazing, barbecue, and simply relax.
Dongtan Wetland Park
Dongtan Wetland Park is adjacent to the Dongtan Bird Nature Reserve and is the only wetland park in China adjacent to a migratory bird sanctuary. The wetland's greatest attraction is watching the bird migration. Every year in April and May, and October and November, the birds awaken and begin to forage for food in the hour before sunrise, creating a truly spectacular spectacle.
