The ancient city of Jingzhou, also known as Jiangling City, is one of China's renowned historical and cultural cities, boasting a remarkably well-preserved ancient city wall. Construction began during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. It once served as a dock for official ships of the Chu State and a palace, later becoming the seat of Jiangling County and the site of its original city walls. After more than 350 years of trials and tribulations, the majority of the existing ancient city wall dates back to the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The majestic brick city wall that now stands before us dates back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. Standing tall and winding, it remains intact and sturdy, making it the best-preserved ancient city wall among prefectural capitals in my country.
