Yunnan, also known as Yun (Yun), with its capital in Kunming, is located in the southwestern borderlands of China. With the Tropic of Cancer running through the southern part of the province, it is a low-latitude inland region. It borders Guizhou Province and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to the east, Sichuan Province to the north, the Tibet Autonomous Region to the northwest, Myanmar to the west, and Laos and Vietnam to the south. Yunnan has 25 border counties with Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam, with a total border length of 4,060 kilometers. Yunnan serves as China's window and gateway to Southeast Asia and South Asia.
Yunnan has the largest number of animal and plant species in the country and is known as the "Kingdom of Animals and Plants" and the "Kingdom of Non-ferrous Metals". February-April : Spring in Yunnan warms up earlier than in the north, making February and March the perfect time to visit Luoping to see the sea of rapeseed blossoms. Kunming, the "City of Spring," is at its most pleasant season, and peach blossoms in southeastern Yunnan are also in full bloom. Around April, you can also experience the grand Water Splashing Festival in Xishuangbanna. Generally speaking, the climate is mild across the country, and festivals abound.
May-August : Summer is the perfect time to visit northwest and southwest Yunnan. In Lijiang, you can see the azaleas on Laojun Mountain from May to June, while July and August are the best times to visit Shangri-La for its summer scenery. Furthermore, the lotus flowers in Puzhehei and Bamei in the south are in full bloom in July and August, reaching their peak beauty. This is also Yunnan's wild mushroom season, with freshly harvested mushrooms sure to delight your palate.
September-November : In autumn, you can go to Dali to experience the Erhai Lake Fishing Festival, or visit the Three Parallel Rivers Scenic Area on the Nujiang River to enjoy the endless scenery along the way. In November, Tengchong's Century-old Ginkgo Village also offers the most beautiful golden autumn scenery in Yunnan.
December-January : Winter is the best time to visit Xishuangbanna and the Yuanyang Rice Terraces. Xishuangbanna enters its dry season, bringing pleasant, sunny weather; the Yuanyang Rice Terraces boast world-renowned breathtaking scenery, offering breathtaking views from sunrise to sunset. However, central Yunnan and areas north of Kunming experience their coldest weather of the year, making travel less recommended.
Kunming
The capital of Yunnan Province is like spring all year round with beautiful scenery. The famous Dianchi Lake is full of blue waves. Climbing up the West Hill and overlooking it, you can have a panoramic view of the entire Dianchi Lake. Every spring, the cherry blossoms in Yuantong Mountain, Yunnan University and other places are colorful, and countless red-billed gulls flying from Siberia are hovering over Kunming. People go to Cuihu Park to watch these beautiful elves.

Lijiang
This ancient town with a long history has many scenic spots and is the main settlement of the Naxi people. The moving Naxi ancient music, the graceful and gentle Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the beautiful Shuhe River, and the hiking paradise Tiger Leaping Gorge are all here. It is also one of the famous ancient towns in China.

Dali (Bai Autonomous Prefecture)

Wind, flowers, snow and moon are the four famous scenic spots in Dali. Erhai Lake, Cangshan Mountain, Shuanglang and Xizhou are must-see places.
