Located in the southwest of Shangsi County, Fangchenggang City, near the Beibu Gulf of the South China Sea and the China-Vietnam border, this forest ecosystem nature reserve is a natural reserve. Its predecessor was the Hongqi Forest Farm, an ecological public welfare forest farm focused on protecting water source forests. The 1950s film "Heroic Courage" was filmed here.
The main protected objects include precious and rare animal and plant resources and their habitats, the main water conservation forests in the southern coastal areas of Guangxi, mountain evergreen broad-leaved forests in the vertical spectrum and typical natural landscapes in different natural zones.
Outdoor travel enthusiasts are particularly fond of this pristine forest. Visitors can see towering ancient trees, entwined ancient vines, deep ancient paths, waterfalls cascading down the cliffs, visit the Stone River, one of the sources of the Pearl River, see the Yin-Yang Tree, the Nantian Giant Buddha, the Heavenly Maiden Bathing Pool, the Stone Roots, etc., and soak their feet in the natural mountain spring medicinal bath.
Alternatively, you can visit the Sancha River Valley, explore the source of the Pearl River, or visit the Alsophila spinulosa conservation area—all of which will leave you marveling at the wonders of nature. On major holidays, there are also exciting Yao ethnic performances.
