Sanniang Bay, one of Guangxi's top ten scenic spots and a national 4A-level scenic spot, is home to the Chinese white dolphin. Located along the Beibu Gulf coast in southern China, Sanniang Bay Village faces Beihai Bay to the east and Qinzhou Port to the west. Direct access to Sanniang Bay via the Fangqinxi Secondary Highway offers convenient transportation and abundant aquatic resources, including mud crabs, oysters, prawns, and grouper.
The Sanniang Bay Scenic Area is famous for its blue sea, beaches, strange rocks, green forests, fishing boats, fishing villages, tides, and Chinese white dolphins. It is known as the "Hometown of Chinese White Dolphins" and consists of scenic spots such as Sanniang Stone, Sow Stone, Wulei Ridge, and Weide Temple. It is the location for the famous movie "Haixia" and the filming base for CCTV's MTV "Wanwan Song" and the 20-episode TV series "Haitenghua".
The best times to see white dolphins are between April and May and July and October, especially on sunny days with a gentle breeze. To see them, you must go out on a boat, and if the boat operator is knowledgeable about the dolphins' whereabouts, your chances of seeing them are very high.
The biggest attraction here is the Chinese white dolphin, known as the "giant panda of the sea." A Class I protected species, the white dolphin is hailed as the "giant panda of the sea" and a "national treasure of the sea." Sanniang Bay is home to the Chinese white dolphin, and its pristine waters have attracted over a thousand wild dolphins to reside year-round.
The dolphins you can see in Sanniang Bay are black, gray, white, pink, dark green, sea blue, etc. The jumping colors cross the blue sea, blooming a colorful sea ballet. The scene is spectacular, passionate and breathtaking.
Ticket price is 50 yuan (out-of-town), 30 yuan (local).
You can take the speedboat of the Tourism Bureau to go out to sea, which costs 100 yuan per person. A boat can seat 10 people and will depart when it is full, but this boat cannot cast nets. You can also take the wooden boat of local fishermen. You can bargain for it, the price is 300-700 yuan, and you can cast nets, but safety is not guaranteed.
