
Jinxiu Dayao Mountain is located in east-central Guangxi. In 2000, the State Council approved the establishment of the Dayao Mountain National Nature Reserve. Also known as Jinxiu Yao Mountain, it was historically also known as Dateng Yao Mountain or Dateng Mountain. The scenic area stretches from northeast to southwest, encompassing Tiantangling, Jinxiu Laoshan, Lianhua Mountain, Luohan Mountain, Shengtang Mountain, and Wuzhi Mountain. These mountains all feature Danxia-style peak forests, with vibrant red curtains, clear waters, and lush greenery complementing each other, each offering its own unique and spectacular scenery.

Dayao Mountain boasts a wealth of scenic attractions, making it an ideal destination for sightseeing and summer retreats. It is also developing into a popular destination for folk tourism, centered around its mountainous landscape. Currently developed attractions within the Dayao Mountain Scenic Area include the Lotus Mountain Scenic Area, the Shengtang Mountain Scenic Area, the Laoshan Primitive Forest Scenic Area, the Tiantang Mountain Scenic Area, Vanilla Lake, and the Folk Village.

Jinxiu Dayao Mountain is renowned for its stunning natural scenery and as a cultural center for the Yao ethnic group. It preserves traditional architecture, folklore, and festivals, making it both a natural and cultural heritage site in Guangxi.
It is located in Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County, Guangxi. Visitors can reach the area by bus or taxi from Jinxiu town center. Walking and hiking are the primary ways to explore the mountain trails.
Most areas are accessible from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The best time to visit is spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) when the weather is pleasant and the scenery is vibrant.
Entrance fees vary by specific scenic area, typically ranging from 50–120 RMB. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance or through local tourism websites.
For peak season or weekends, booking 1–3 days in advance is recommended. Otherwise, tickets can be purchased on-site.
Exploring Jinxiu Dayao Mountain thoroughly usually takes a full day or more, depending on hiking intensity and cultural activities.
Guided tours are available in Chinese. English-speaking guides may be arranged through local tour operators, but are less common.
Night visits are generally not permitted, and there are no regular light shows. Special cultural events may occur during festival periods.
The mountain is moderately visited. Weekdays are less crowded, and visiting outside major holidays ensures a more peaceful experience.

Main hiking trails can be challenging; elderly or disabled visitors may find access difficult. Some lower trails and village areas are easier to navigate.
