Introducing Gili Islands
The Gili Islands are an archipelago in Lombok, Indonesia, consisting of Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air. Motor vehicles are prohibited on the islands, so transportation is by bicycle or horse-drawn carriage. The Gili Islands are made up of small coral islands surrounded by white sandy beaches. Sea turtles are abundant underwater, making them an ideal spot for diving.
Gili Trawangan is the largest of the three islands, boasting comprehensive facilities, being the first to be developed, and being the most popular. Gili Trawangan, also known as Party Island, boasts at least three themed parties each week, making it incredibly lively.
Gili Meno is located between the two islands and has great resorts.
Gili Air is located in the east, close to Lombok. It is the smallest island but has the largest number of indigenous islanders. It is not as noisy and lively as Gili T, nor as aloof as Gili Meno. The facilities on the island are also complete but it is also quiet.
