It covers a total area of 454 square kilometers and currently administers six towns, three townships, 372 administrative villages, a population of 376,400, and 270,000 mu (approximately 16,000 acres) of arable land. A former revolutionary base, Taiqian County is a key county for national poverty alleviation and development efforts, and a key component of the Pufantai Comprehensive Poverty Alleviation and Development Experimental Zone within the Central Plains Economic Zone.
